"Sounds good," Gemma said. She squeezed his hand gently.

Steve smiled and ushered her into the car, opening her door for her and waiting until she was settled to shut it again. Then he hopped in the driver's seat so they could get going.

Gemma settled into the seat quickly. She was more than ready to get out to the cabin and relax for a while.

Fortunately traffic was light and they arrived quickly. As soon as they were out of the car, Kenzie she'd her human skin for a while, shaking her wings to settle them.

Gemma immediately went to settle in with Kenzie. It had been a while since she had gotten to snuggle up to a dragon, and it was comforting to have the solid warmth at her back.

Bucky also went to settle with Kenzie. He didn't plan to be far from her at all during this trip.

Kenzie was perfectly happy to be the big warm snuggly and made a pleased rumbly noise at them.

Steve snorted and brought everything inside from the car, amused.

Gemma sighed and relaxed against Kenzie. After a few moments, though, she caught Steve's eye and raised her eyebrows, silently asking if he wanted help taking things inside.

Steve shook his head a little, smiling and motioning for her to stay put. He was almost done, after all. One last trip and he was free to saunter over and plop down next to Gemma.

Gemma smiled when he settled next to her.

"Now we get to relax for the weekend," she murmured to him.

"Mmhm." Steve stretched a little and then relaxed back against Kenzie. "Should be nice."

"Yeah," Gemma sighed. For the moment, life was good.

Steve settled in closer to her, smiling a bit. Then he snorted when Kenzie moved her tail to box them in against her side with a pleased rumble.

They were still like that when the other car arrived. It didn't take long for Clint to make his way over, and he promptly climbed up onto Kenzie's back and flopped over.

Tony didn't climb up, but he did pick a nice spot, half-dragging Bruce with him. He then pulled out a tablet, got comfy, and went back to Science!ing.

Kenzie just rumbled, pleased, and made sure there was plenty of room for the newcomers.

Sam picked his way over as well, though he was a little more hesitant in finding a spot. Steve had convinced him to come, but he still wasn't sure he was entirely welcome. And, to be honest, he was still a bit wary of the enormous dragon.

Kenzie opened one eye to look at Sam and moved one giant foot to create a nice, sheltered little niche for him. She even puffed an affectionate bit of smoke at him.

Sam made a face at the smoke and waved it away.

"You gotta know how weird this is," he said as he cautiously settled into the spot she'd made for him. "So damn weird."

Kenzie made a rumbly laugh noise and settled in again, resting her head next to Bucky again. This was much better.

The group settled like that for a few hours. Gemma was sure they would have dozed like that for a while longer, but they were interrupted when someone showed up.

A young man who couldn't have been more than sixteen or seventeen came out of the trees, calmly and confidently making his way towards the cottage. He didn't seem at all surprised or shocked to see a dragon lounging about in the clearing.

The reaction was instantaneous. Pretty much everyone except Kenzie scrambled to their feet, while Tony and Clint veered straight to the young man to intercept him. Steve moved so he was in front of Kenzie and Gemma both. Kenzie huffed a little.

The kid stopped, raising an eyebrow. He looked up so he was looking at Kenzie.

"Hey, mom," he said, nodding to her.

Kenzie made sure everyone was off her before she transformed again.

"Caspian. It's been years since you've been by." She moved in front of him and pulled him into a hug.

"Father and I were passing through," Caspian said, returning the hug. "I might have... slipped away to come and find you before we left again."

Kenzie sighed indulgently. "How long ago?" she asked, holding him at arm's length to give him a critical looking over.

"Not long," Caspian said, a little defensively. "A couple of days, maybe." He looked off to the side a bit. "Father was distracted, anyways, he found something shiny he was trying to acquire."
