"Er no...I don't want to cough up ten dollars for a bucket of overly salty popcorn," Francis said with a wince. Maybe the reason American's considered movies a good date was because it showed off how much money they had to throw around. Francis had his fair share, but he preferred for the product to be worth the money. "Honestly. The food is more expensive than the tickets sometimes. If the cheapness of the product doesn't make you cry, then the price will." He never was one to stop himself from insulting unfavorable food.

Arthur let out a laugh at that. "I completely agree." he told him. That was another point in reasons why he liked Francis. Any other date he's had were he's had to come here, the other person would complain if he didn't buy them some snack that wasn't even very good. Neither was the movie in those instances either. Always stupid cheesy romances. He was tired of it. This was already different though. He found their seats and sat down. "Let's hope this movie is worth coming." he said.

Francis laughed back, feeling so at ease with the other man. Although they disagreed quite a bit, their humor seemed to match up well. If anything, they could always make fun of Americans together. An odd thing to bond over, but it seemed to work pretty well. "Even if it isn't, it's worth getting to see you more than once in a day," he chuckled as he leaned over in his seat so that he invaded Arthur's personal space just a little while while remaining in his own seat. "If you get scared, I can always hold you until the movie is over."

Arthur had to fight back the blush that came when Francis leaned closer to him. 'Knock it off. You are better than that.' he thought to himself. He hated how often he kept blushing around the Frenchman. That was another thing he's never really done before in past relationships. He didn't even know why he was getting so flustered over him. "Alright. But I should warn you I don't get scared easily." he warned him. That was true enough. At least the older he got the less he got scared over things. Especially since he became a cop. He slept with a gun by his bed, after all. Hard to get scared when you know you can defend yourself.

Francis just hummed and leaned away again. "Well, you can always fall into my arms even if you're not scared," he added with a wink. I'd be nice if Arthur could feign terror just for his sake. It never occurred to Francis that he might be the one who ended up afraid, despite his disinterest in violence and such things. He trusted the cheapness of American movies though, and his own manliness. No, it would never cross his mind that he could be afraid. Turning his attention to the screen, he watched the pre movie junk pass by.

"That isn't going to happen." Arthur stated. "Though you can cling to me if you get scared." he added so the other wouldn't feel offended by his other comment. A part of him was hoping Francis would do just that and another hoped not. He kept his eyes on the screen, waiting for the movie to start to see if it was worth being here.

Francis quirked one eyebrow. "Mon ami, I can assure you that I am far too much of a man to cling to another in fear. I prefer it the other way around." He crossed his arms, pretending to be a lot more offended than he was. He really didn't think that would happen though. They'd arrived late enough that they didn't have long to wait before the movie itself started. The lights dimmed and a haunting melody crept out over the theater.

'We'll see. One way or another.' Arthur thought. He was surprised by the opening music to the was fitting to the scene. That seemed like a good start. As the movie went on, it was sorta good, but he didn't find it to horribly scary. It was still a good movie so far. He glanced over at Francis to see how he was reacting to it.

For the most part, Francis split his attention between watching the movie and watching Arthur. As more time passed though, he found himself attentive to the horror story. It wasn't creepy and he muttered a few things under his breath about hollywood effects, but he had a feeling something would change soon. It'd been building up and so far only one character had died, and off screen at that. From what he knew about American movies, that didn't bode well. A deep, disembodied voice spoke from behind a door and then the screams started.

Francis looked away with a small noise of distress just as the gore stared. "Gross! Why must they always decapitate someone!" he groaned with a horrified expression.

"Because Americans aren't to creative with their movies." Arthur responded. The gore didn't really bother him. He'd seen worse at a crime scene. This movie was just another American cliche for horror. Not to horribly impressive. The best type of horror movies to him were Spanish ones. Those were actually able to scare him. This was nothing in comparison.

Fear had nothing to do with this. Francis just happened to have no stomach for seeing people's innards outside of their body. Being squeamish was nothing to be ashamed of, or so he told himself. Maybe in his youth he could watch such a movie but he became more refined and perhaps more babyish as he got older. Francis flopped over to hide himself behind Arthur. "Just tell me when it's safe to look!" And maybe he just wanted an excuse to be so close. He wasn't going back on what he said though. This was entirely different.

Arthur looked back at Francis went the other hid behind him. "Bit squeamish there, frog?" He asked, his tone amused. He knew that was probably mean. But he just couldn't help it. "Or are you just afraid?" Either way, he didn't really mind the other hiding behind him. As a cop, it was in his nature to protect people after all. He turned his eyes back to the screen to keep watching to tell him when it was safe to look again.

"Don't call me a frog!" Francis complained as he wrapped his arms around Arthur's waist, his chin on the other's shoulder. "Honestly, someone should teach you proper manners." He was very content to snuggle where he was though and even after the violence ended, he didn't move away, nor did he pay attention to the movie. He'd found something more interesting to do. He blew a breath of air against Arthur's face and watched his hair flutter. He continued down his neck, leaving little ghosts of breath behind, knowing full well the tingling sensation it would create.

"You're French. Ergo you are a frog." Arthur told him. He didn't mind that Francis didn't move away. At least, at first. He pushed him away when he kept blowing air at him. "Knock it off, frog." he added the last part specifically to annoy Francis. He was trying to focus on the movie but that was hard when the other was distracting him. It didn't matter how boring the movie was. He paid to see and he was going to watch it to the end.

"That's very rude you know," Francis said, but he kept his voice soft, not really rising to the obvious taunt. Although Arthur pushed him away, he just pulled closer again and let his hands wander down the other man's side. Nothing too indecent; he just wanted to touch Arthur. "But what if my soul is damaged by this blood bath and I need to recharge with a little love?"

"You're not getting any sort of love here. We're in public." Arthur told him. As an Englishman, he wasn't to overly fond of PDA. He felt things like that were meant to be private, after all. He pushed Francis away, needing a little bit of space. The other man was getting way to close for comfort here in the dark theater.

It was a dark theater though and no one watched them. Francis' mother may not have raised him to be like this, but he could hardly help his nature. Rather, he embraced it. "Oh come on, love is just love. I didn't mean anything by is," he whined. "You're the one who's thinking naughty thoughts about me it seems." He grinned, feeling very pleased to have gotten that reaction even if he got pushed away.

Arthur felt his face heating up as he blushed yet again. "I-I was not thinking n-naughty things, you perverted frog!" he stuttered, embarrassed by the insinuation. There was no way he was going to admit that is what his mind had gone to when Francis said he needed love to recharge. He'd die before he ever said that out loud.

Francis chuckled and settled back in his chair. He didn't need lights to know Arthur blushed. He already figured out how his tone of voice changed with embarrassment. After a few short days, he already knew that much. "Deny it all you want, but know that my intuition about such things is unrivaled. I know what you were thinking..."

"Oh yeah? And what was I thinking?" Arthur asked, curious. Though he wasn't sure he really wanted to know the answer. And yet at the same time he did. He just hoped that he wouldn't say something extremely inappropriate in public. That would just be even more embarrassing. Though he wasn't sure anybody was listening to their conversation. There wasn't anybody sitting directly around them, after all.

Francis grinned, bright and almost predatory. Leaning over more for effect than any desire to keep his words private, he whispered in Arthur's ear. "You were thinking about skipping dinner and going somewhere private so I can eat you instead." Francis didn't care if he was forward or sounded a little desperate or like a perverted gentleman. He didn't even care if others overheard him. He just wanted Arthur that bad.

Arthur felt himself tense up slightly at that, his face turning red once again. That was basically what he had been thinking. But he wasn't expecting Francis to know that. It was one thing sleeping with a complete stranger when you're drunk. Its another to sleep with someone you've only know for a few days, right? It has been so long since his last relationship that he wasn't sure if doing that after a couple dates was appropriate or not. "Was I?" he asked, his voice quiet and his mouth felt very dry all of a sudden.

Francis eyed Arthur, knowing he was right. He didn't read any signs of hesitation through his own haze of interest. "If I'm not right, then tell me no," he whispered. "Otherwise I'm going to do whatever I please with you." Though he wanted to so bad, he resisted the urge to steal a kiss and forget the entire world existed outside this theater. He finally leaned back with a sigh. "But if you tell me no, I'll have no choice but to back away I guess." He was a gentleman after all.

Arthur was silent for a moment, thinking. He was torn with his physical needs and his rational mind that says he shouldn't. His brain was telling him that it was to soon for their relationship to jump into bed, ignoring the fact that they have already done that. But that part of his brain wasn't enough to override the needs of his body. ".. I wasn't saying no." he eventually muttered.

A bright smile split Francis' face. "Ah thank goodness! I was thinking that I might have to go home lonely tonight and I don't think I could take that. I don't want to just have to dream of you," he said very honestly. He glanced back at the screen and realized that it'd fallen back into a bloodbath for the climax of the movie. "Um...do you want to just split now? You're not watching this are you?"
