Loki Laufeyson
Age in Midgardian years is unknown.
Fallen Prince of Asgard now cast out to Earth.

~
It happened all of a sudden. One moment, he heard Odin's bellowing, heard the sound of Heimdall's sword sliding into the core of his observatory, saw the flashing lights of the Bifrost opening and he was gone. Banished. Just as Thor had been and Loki found himself in unfamiliar territory somewhere on Midgard, that much he could gather.

Loki cursed Odin under his breath, slowly picking himself from the ground and looking around, taking in his surroundings. Of course, there were a few nosey Midgardians, staring, pointing at him in awe or fear. He wasn't sure if they recognized him from the fiasco in New York or not, but he wasn't planning to stick around to ask any of them. He felt powerless on this foreign realm without the use of the scepter Thanos had lent to him. With that thought he let out a soft chuckle,

"Odin... The old fool! How could he be so blind? To send me to the place that holds the very weapon I need." It was amazing and he couldn't be any more luckier that Odin was a complete idiot. The only thing to do now would be to find the scepter. Couldn't be too hard and besides, Loki knew the exact people who could locate it for him... SHIELD. He knew how to get on their radar quickly, just destroy something and they'd come running, guns in the air, screaming out idle threats.

Loki smirked, there were many ways to contact SHIELD, but of course, the fun way would be To toy with them first. He used his magic to appear in his shimmering, golden armor and made his way towards some innocent Midgardians who were waking as quickly as they could in the opposite direction of him.

Quickly, he reached for the slowest of the Midgardians, who have, by now, started running away from Loki, a woman, young, sort of attractive. He stared into her eyes, into her soul.

"Tell me where I can find SHIELD headquarters." Loki said in an even voice. The woman babbled that she didn't know and this frustrated Loki, he threw her to the ground and walked back to where he'd landed from the Bifrost. This would have been so much easier with the scepter. Perhaps, if he were patient enough, SHIELD would pick up in the changes in atmosphere here and come to him instead. So, Loki quickly cloned himself at least ten times, forming a circle around the pattern left behind by the Bifrost and he sat in the middle of his clones and waited.

(I'm really, really sorry for the long post.)

A knock on the lab's door nearly made Evy jump right out from her skin. She sat the clip board filled with papers on old atmospheric readings and her pen down on the nearby table filled with screens and keyboards before she turned and met eyes with one of her co-workers.

"Agent Haron," greeted Agent Hill with a curt nod of her head.

Evy tucked a fallen strand of her wavy hair behind her ear and crossed her arms over her chest, her eyebrows furrowed together in both concern and curiosity. "What is it?" she murmured.

Agent Hill looked around for a moment before she stepped into the lab and closed the door behind them. Something was going on and Evy leaned a hand on the table should she need the support.

"We've got some changes in the atmosphere similar to what happened the last time Thor came down here."

Evy parted her lips, ready to speak out in her shock when Agent Hill held up a hand that told Evy she wasn't done. "Before you say anything, Agent Haron, I want to let you know that I'm trusting you with this little mission. I need you to go down there and see what's going on, or who--what has been sent down to us from Asgard."

"What about-"

"We don't want to alert, Miss Foster," Hill murmured as she took a step towards Evy with her arms over her chest and a look of thoughtfulness on her features. "It's a safety procedure we want to follow through with, should it not be Thor."

Evy straightened up, her eyebrows furrowing. She looked away from Hill and over to her cargo jacket with SHIELD's insignia on the shoulder sitting on the desk's chair. "I guess I'll go then."

Hill nodded her head. "Good. Report back when you get the chance. You'll be taking one of the regular cars. Not many people know about this. I trust you've read the old reports on the last mission involving this." And with that, Hill left the room swiftly, leaving Evy there baffled and confused. Why did this have to be so secret? And what could have happened for the atmosphere's change?

She walked over to the chair, her ankle-length combat boots slapping against the concrete floor eagerly as she grabbed her coat, slipping it on as she grabbed her belt that held her gun and a small pouch of extra rounds before she pulled her brown hair up into a pony tale and headed out the door towards the elevator that led up to the garage.

Nerves ticked away at her. Why hadn't Hill assigned her any backup? Why did she have to go alone? She knew SHIELD had a lot more to worry about than this, but this was only her third month working for SHIELD. Did they really have that much faith in her? She knew well enough not to question SHIELD and due to the trust built within the walls of the Headquarters, she trusted that SHIELD would be watching her.

She hopped into a black car with the coordinates of the center focus of the atmospheric change, hesitating before she put the keys into the ignition and put the car in gear. When she made out of the garage, the sun in the sky told her it was only afternoon without her having to check the dashboard. Her heart began thudding in her ears, in fear of what laid out there waiting for her.

Loki grew restless waiting for SHIELD. Sure, he usually had the patience of an owl when it came to getting what he wanted, he'd wait for an eternity. After all, he'd live long enough to see one, anyway. Yet this time, Loki felt like time was running out quickly... too quickly for his liking, yet, he remained still, hidden by his many copies who all took a defense stance and sent threatening glares to passerby's.

Every now and then, as he waited for SHIELD, who of which, he could sense would be arriving shortly, he'd throw a little icy magic at some random strangers who were quickly walking by trying to avoid his gaze. It always brought a smile to their face to hear their pained cries and see the way the people jerked as they were hit and fell to the ground. Loki chuckled softly as he watched them go down.

His smile brightened when he could finally hear the sound of heavy duty tires rolling along the pavement of the street where Loki was sitting. He got to his feet as quickly as he could and allowed for his illusions to stand back as he moved between them to get a better glimpse of the SHIELD vehicle that was approaching. Loki smirked, prepared to see the face of Nick Fury or perhaps Steve Rodgers... maybe even the lovely Agent Romanoff. He had already rehearsed his fabulous speech in his mind. He had bravado, but he did not have the gall to threaten SHIELD without his weapon... He'd planned to use his silver tongue to persuade SHIELD to give him what he wanted.

His gaze fell upon the lone SHIELD appointed vehicle and his heart sank a little, though he refused to let that show. He was ready for whoever it would be who was coming out of the car to greet them... And greet them, he would.

Junabelle 04-02-2015 06:20 AM

She stopped the car at near the end of the street where her car's GPS directed her to the ending location. She double checked her gun, though from the sight of what was waiting for her, she could tell her gun would be useless. It was more a safety blanket to her, or a teddy bear to cuddle in the scary dark. She stepped out of the vehicle and slammed the door shut, crossing her arms over her chest defensively as she walked over to the mysterious being.

First, she had thought twins, or maybe copied drones of robots of some sorts. But when her eyes zero'd in on the faces of the copies, even the clothes, did her mind register who she was now forced to face with all on her own.

Of all people...

She walked up to where she stood at a safe distance, her head slightly tilted down as she tightened her arms across herself to try ignore her shaking hands. Her legs felt like jello and she had to forcibly breath lightly and slowly. She didn't say a word to the God as she raised a hand shakily to the microphone in her ear, pressing a single button as she breathed in, "Bring backup."

"Loki, Son of Odin?" she started off. Her breath came out shaky and she cleared her throat as if it would make it better. "Under the protection of SHIELD, I'm going to have to ask you to come with me." She was going to spit out, "you are under arrest," but despite his last visit here, he had done nothing wrong with his new presence.

Yet.

Ava The Vampire 04-02-2015 04:47 PM

If Loki wasn't already disappointed by the lack of SHIELD agents, he was definitely disappointed now that SHIELD didn't even send their director! Or at least one of the Avengers... No, Loki was staring into the face of an unfamiliar woman. She looked nervous, but that wasn't a surprise to Loki. At least she knew who she was dealing with.

"Who are you?" He demanded, completely ignoring her words. He didn't like the idea that SHIELD seemed to think he wasn't worth sending out the whole army of agents to fight him. In fact, it hurt his ego that instead, they only sent one, lone, mortal woman. He could see through her and he let his holographic copies disappear as he approached her, his gaze still piercing her. "SHIELD has sent you, obviously... but, where is your director? You dare order me around without the aid of mercenaries?" His last question was more of a thought that he actually chuckled a little while thinking. The nerve that SHIELD had!

He got incredibly close to her and continued to stare into her eyes. "SHIELD has gotten sloppy." He spat.

Junabelle 04-03-2015 12:33 AM

Evy had to take a moment, a pause before she responded to her as she fought the urge to take a step back from the man who was more intimidating than his reputation had told her. She stared up into his dark eyes and swallowed nervously. It was, in truth, understandable how this god could be so offended by the lack of Fury's presence. But her call for backup wouldn't let that down. SHIELD's director would be here in no time.

"They're on their way with Fury," said Hill in her ear piece. "Just stay calm and remember your training." A part of her relaxed a bit, knowing that she'd have the backup desired in no time. Who knew what Loki could do to her? It was a shock that he hadn't already done something.

Up close, Loki wasn't anything she had been expecting. He didn't seem as dark as what they had said. And he most certainly was taller in person than the photos she had seen in the past.

"I'm Agent Haron," said Evy as she tilted her face up a bit. A part of her, that courageous part, told her she had to show as little as fear as possible. And it was true. He training made it habit to pretend she was as calm as possible, besides the slight tremble in her hand that was now reaching for her belt. Smoothly, she hooked her thumb in the belt, near her gun as she focused her weight on her left leg. "And have now worries." She cocked an eyebrow up at him. "Director Fury will be here soon." She sucked in a breath and looked away from him. She couldn't help it.

"SHIELD sent me to check on who, or what came," she soon quipped. "What is your business here anyways?" Did daddy banish him like Thor that one time? Evy thought in her mind. She fought off a chuckle but it was soon cut off when she then thought, unless he's here to reek havoc...

Ava The Vampire 04-03-2015 09:53 PM

Loki began to think of a horribly, devilish idea. At first, he didn't think this woman would be of much use. Now, he was beginning to see the light. A wicked grin crossed his face as he stared down at Evy and he began to laugh a little.

"You'll discover that soon enough..."

Without warning, he reached out and grabbed Evy by the waist, pulling her close to his own body and he quickly used his magic to disappear from the scene. He flew with her through different dimensions before finally reappearing on the top of a building in close proximity to the Stark Tower. It was nice to be around familiar surroundings.

He let Evy go, carefully, slowly, so that she'd be able to get her footing after their little teleportation trip. Once he was certain she was alright, he created an illusion of a dagger and gripped it tightly in his hand, hoping to appear threatening.

"SHIELD will come looking for you," He began, his smile was now gone from his face and what remained now was a lack of emotion, apathy, perhaps. "When they do, I will tell them what I need... if those fools do not cooperate...." He paused to take a breath, then averted his gaze from Evy, he thought carefully over what he was going to say, then changed his mind and gave another, small, sad smile. "Well... I do not believe I need to tell you what would happen."

Junabelle 04-05-2015 02:14 AM

Evy had only opened her mouth, ready to spit words at him and ready to let go of the fire he had just started up within her. But one moment she was ready to speak, the next she was pressed up tightly against the one man she was told to fear among others by direct order of SHIELD in general, not just Hill or Fury. And then the falling sensation over came her. It reminded her of the one time her and her parents had gotten into a car accident, when something had went wrong in the car when they were driving over a bridge, which caused them to fall over the edge and into the icy December river water. The fear that came with the sensation made her forget how to breathe entirely.

And when they had traveled to a roof, with Stark Tower in view, she began gasping for breath, almost as if she were to have a panic attack. She clutched her chest and gripped her hand tightly on the collar of Loki's robe, cloak, whatever he was wearing over his tunic. Her chest felt as if the ribs had shrunk, squeezing her lungs painfully tight. She closed her eyes, willing herself to calm down and to just breathe, waiting for the moment to be over. And when it was, did she hear Loki speak.

She saw the dagger briefly, as it appeared in his hand before she yanked at his collar.

"How dare you threaten SHIELD. You have absolutely no right," she said through bared teeth. Her face was scrunched up as she glowered up at him through thick lashes and darkened hazel eyes.

She didn't realize the mistake she had just made, talking to Loki, a god, like that. But at the moment, she was caught up in the anger mixed with fear that flooded through her veins in place of her own hot blood.

And when she had realized it, she let go of him stiffly, taking a step back close to the edge. Anywhere but close to him.

"SHIELD may come looking for me? But remember this Loki," she started, remembering something her mother had taught her long ago, "Villains never win." She crossed her arms over her chest, the wind of the height they were at tousling her brown curls. "You should have learned that from the last time you were here."

Ava The Vampire 04-05-2015 05:37 AM

Loki chuckled, pulling the dagger behind his back. "Is that really how you see me...? Just another villain?"

Loki noticed the way she seemed to momentarily panic just as he'd let her go when they arrived on the roof. It was partially amusing, but really it was just sad. He had so many high expectations for an agent of SHIELD, and thus far, this woman seemed to be nothing he had expected.

He approached her slowly, menacingly, smile completely gone from his face. "There's no one like me in this realm. No villains, no heroes. I see no disadvantage for me in this situation." Other than my lack of weapon... His mind filled in, but thankfully his tongue knew better than to voice that. She didn't need to know his plans, better to keep her in ignorance.

He kept approaching, coming so close that their faces were mere centimeters away. "You'd better hope that SHIELD comes looking for you, Agent Haron." Loki paused, still glaring at her with intense heat. He didn't feel the need to explain himself, he was pretty certain he'd get his point across just through staring. After a few minutes of saying nothing, he turned his back to her, closed his eyes and sent off a hologram of himself, sending it to the place where he'd first arrived to Earth through the Bifrost, where he'd assumed, by now, Nick Fury and the other SHIELD agents would be waiting. He'd warn them of Agent Haron and tell them that he needed his scepter and that if they did not cooperate he would bring bodily harm to Agent Haron.

Once he was certain they'd gotten his message he opened his eyes and turned back to face Evy. He started to speak, but it wasn't to Evy, he was talking aloud to himself, really,

"I've been through too much to let The Allfather cast me out that easily." He turned to face Evy again and he grabbed her roughly by the waist once more, pulling her close to his body and started to drag her across the rooftop, where he'd planned to lead her into the building and he'd equip himself with an actual weapon instead of having to resort to his magic to feign one.

Junabelle 04-05-2015 08:23 PM

Of course that's what she saw him as, a villain. After all, he did plan on destroying her world, thousands were killed because of him, and if it weren't for the Avengers, she wouldn't be here to this very day, staring into the eyes of one of the beings she wanted to see dead. "If you aren't a villain," she began as her eyebrows had pushed together, fierce with disgust and hate, "then what the hell are you doing here?"

SHIELD was foolish not to equip her with a proper weapon that would, no doubt, even her odds at survival when it came to an Asgardian, especially like Loki. It almost made her want to question them and their intentions. She knew they would be coming for her, however. She was the only Agent they had that was reliable and who always pulled through with her missions. Well, most of them being that this one might be the first she just might not be able to.

A grunt left her when Loki had pulled her to him roughly. Her body collided against his, feeling as if she had just been pushed up against a brick wall. She tried to stiffen her legs as she struggled against him, trying to escape his grip and his touch. He revolted her.

"I'm not going anywhere with you!" she screeched as she reacted more out of nature than actually the thought of what she was about to do as she punched his jaw.

Ava The Vampire 04-05-2015 09:16 PM

Loki was frozen where he stood on his feet when she punched him. It didn't hurt, just took him by surprise. He found himself slowly craning his head to look at her, a wicked expression on his face. He grabbed her once more, roughly by the arms this time, pulling her close to himself again and he growled to her,

"You are NOT going to be the hero today, Agent Haron." He spat. "Odin, the all powerful Allfather, could not stop me. I doubt someone like you would be able to either. I grow tired of your screeching." He yanked on her arms so that they were, once again, close to each other and he threw a hand over her face to cover her mouth.

He began walking again, trying to tow her along to the door that led to the inside of the building they were standing on. He never thought a mortal woman would be so much trouble! He smirked at the thought. "Oh..." He said, "... and villain is such an unpleasant word. You'll see my intentions soon enough."

Junabelle 04-06-2015 01:38 AM

Evy tried to make a noise, opening her mouth ready to counter his words, but she was cut off by his hand. And when she felt the painful hold he had on her, a small noise of pain crawled up her throat and became muffled by his hand. Her head spun, trying to real through options that would help her survival. No doubt Loki wouldn't get his way. She knew SHIELD and its people like the back of her own hand. And she had no doubt that Loki would kill her because of it without even blinking.

First, her mind rendered around the thought that maybe if she obeyed him correctly, she'd live. But as a SHIELD agent, she knew that doing the right thing was of more worth than doing what you thought could be of more benefit for yourself. She huffed, her nose flaring as she sighed out her anger through it. She decided to still fight him as she struggled against him, despite the angry pinch his hold had on her, and despite the strong smell of spice and male that had hit her nose with his closeness.

I won't stop fighting. For SHIELD, she thought angrily. She felt the rush of the fresh air leave her as they entered through the door and the darkness of the dimmed staircase leading countless of flights downwards in a spiral hurt her eyes. She hadn't been through as much as she had been through just four months ago. Not yet, however, but it still took a toll on her.

Ava The Vampire 04-06-2015 02:39 AM

Getting Evy quiet wasn't the main goal, but Loki was glad he'd achieved it regardless. He didn't bat an eye at her struggles, knowing they were futile, he just continued to tighten his grip on her as she struggled. The more she fought, the tighter he squeezed her.

He dragged Evy through the building as quickly as he could, passing through many closed doors and thankfully, avoiding running into any random Midgardians who might be at work in this building. The place seemed pretty empty for the most part, an oddity in busy New York City. He led Evy down through more dark, dank staircases and they soon reached the floor level of the building.

He left the building with away in tow as swiftly has he'd arrived and they were on the busy streets of New York. Civilians gawked and stared at Loki, yet he ignored them entirely, his focus on the big, bright beauty that was Stark Tower. He knew Stark wasn't currently there. After all, Stark wouldn't actually live in a place like that! It was just an office. Loki's lips curled into a devilish smile as he thought, All I need is a weapon...

"And I know just where to find one." He finished his thought aloud and started walking towards the Stark Tower with Evy in his arms. He looked down at Evy, smiling, he never thought he'd think of anything so wild, but a part of him actually liked her struggles. He liked the idea of having control over someone, what, with him feeling like he had no control in other areas of his life... His brother being the favored child, having no control of that, being born a frost giant and being left for dead, having no control of that, even being cast out if Asgard by Odin, and having no control over that either. Loki would drag this out for as long as he possibly could. Evy would be his to control, for however long she'd be useful.

Junabelle 04-06-2015 09:41 PM

Evy didn't know what this mad-man...no, mad-god's deal was. Weren't all gods sane and healthy one way or another? So why was he acting so...odd? Almost as if he was burdened with a mortal's personality disorder. She had only seen Thor from a distance, never really truly got to meet him. But he was so different from Loki. In ever single way, shape, and form that Evy could possibly imagine. It made her wonder how far their relationship as brothers extended. Something about it wasn't right.

She struggled to keep up with him as they passed out into the busy New York City streets. It hadn't been long before she had given up all her struggles, ending with her breath coming out in tiny, fast heaves and her entire body sore from the way Loki had been dragging her along with him.

When she heard him talk out of no where, her ears perked up, although it matched his entire body language -- something that didn't make sense. Of course she knew gods, especially Asgardians, were very secretive people. His entire body language, actions, and words screeched that he sure-as-hell had a motive.

"Find what?" she quipped, just as she realized where exactly they were heading. Her eyes zeroed in on the tall Stark Tower, her eyes widening. Was she going to harm Tony Stark? Or was he going to tamper with the equipment in there?

She had been in Stark Tower before. In fact, she had been in there many times between meetings with Tony Stark on behalf of SHIELD's lab that she worked part-time in, and even friendly calls. Of course he had flirted with her before, offered to invite her over to dinner, but with his ego and mindset, she was just glad when Pepper came into the picture.

All around her, she felt eyes staring as they passed. The temperature had dropped a bit and she huffed a sigh once her breath had caught up to her. It'd be foolish to call out for help when no mortal, or more so anyone not working for SHIELD, could possibly help her. She kept her eyes trained on Stark Tower, an angry expression set to her features as her jaw remained tightened and her hands tightened in fists to help keep her from acting out and doing something stupid she's sure to later regret.

Ava The Vampire 04-07-2015 03:15 AM

Loki couldn't help but feel slightly relieved, perhaps even a little proud that Evy had stopped struggling. This, however, did not make him relax his tight grip on her small frame. He noticed her breathing changed and for a moment he was concerned she may pass out on him, not that it would matter much... If she were to lose consciousness, it would only mean less work for him.

He moved as swiftly as he could with Evy in tow. Reaching the doors of Stark Tower, he kicked the glass, causing it to shatter to the ground and he dragged Evy through the holes where the glass used to be. Loki was very certain he'd find a formidable weapon here, in Stark Tower.

A loud, wailing noise sounded off once he'd walked further into the building, he shouldn't be surprised, of course Stark would have some sort of security alarm set up. Loki was more shocked that nothing started firing at him from the walls. Still, he didn't want to take the chance and he pulled Evy to his side, using his own body as a shield, just in case something were to start shooting, she'd be worth nothing to him if she were dead.

He carefully walked further into the building, his eyes scanning the room, looking for something he could use as a weapon. A voice came from the ceiling and caught him by surprise. Some sort of artificial intelligence, it seemed? The voice asked Loki to step away and it began to warn Loki and he would have heard what the voice was going to say if he hadn't shot the speakers in the ceiling with icy blasts of magic.

If SHIELD wasn't already on their way to Loki's location, he knew they'd be there momentarily now that he'd broken into Stark Tower. He reached out to a nearby glass table and grabbed the closest thing in reach. A screwdriver? Loki didn't know if that was the right word for it, but regardless, he was sure it could still do some good damage to the soft, fleshy human body. He used the hand he held on Evy to tear her uniform a little, revealing her neck and he pressed the screwdriver against the fair skin.

"You're in luck, Agent Haron." Loki growled, "Today, I'm giving you a choice. Either show me where Stark keeps his weapons and I will leave you unharmed, or I will persuade you to show me."

Junabelle 04-07-2015 03:29 AM

The alarm of the building blared in her ear like a loud, sickly screech. At first she squinted, but soon got used to it. After all, it wasn't as loud as the one back at the SHIELD base. She huffed a frustrated sigh, glaring at Loki again after looking around the building. Jarvis' voice, at first, was a familiar relaxing sound, until Loki destroyed the speakers. They were going the wrong way.

Good.

Her heart had been enlightened at this knowledge until she felt the collar of her thick tee shirt rip followed by the cold, biting metal from the screwdriver that Loki the held to her neck. She listened closely to his threat and it wasn't even a second later that her face twisted up into a sneer.

She'd have escaped him easily, if it weren't for his tight hold. By now she was losing feeling where his hands gripped her tightly.

"I don't know the place," she lied. Her was a good liar, which was one of the reasons she was one of the top agents of SHIELD. But even a mortal like her would be foolish to think she could get a lie past a god.

Her eyes darted around the work room they were in, eyeing the doors. She closed her eyes, tightening them as her lips formed a thin line before she quickly corrected herself.

"Okay look. Stark keeps his weapons up on one of the middle floors. I've only been to the laboratories and have heard talk of the actual places he keeps his weapons. It's a maze here." Truth came from her this time around and she wondered if it was too late. She kept her eyes shut tightly, readying for anything Loki might do to her.

Ava The Vampire 04-07-2015 08:06 PM

"Middle floors..." Loki parroted. There were at least 55 'middle' floors of Stark Tower. Loki grumbled, a part of him wanted to hit Evy, but he wasn't like his brother... He doesn't take out his frustrations on other people... At least, not physically.

Loki didn't want to waste time going through each and every floor of Stark Tower looking for weapons. He paused for a moment, carefully thinking of some way he could cut down the search time. He'd hoped to acquire a weapon before Stark or SHIELD got to them. He pressed the screwdriver a little more deeply into Evy's fair skin, he knew that she truthfully did not know where the weapons were, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to hurt her a little. He had the power, now it was just a matter of keeping it.

He loosened his grip on Evy and watched her carefully, making sure she wouldn't run off the minute he let her go. He didn't trust that she wouldn't take off running the second he let her go, so he gripped the screwdriver tightly in his hand, maneuvering himself to where he could grab Evy's hand and he grabbed her hand, stretched it out and placed the tip of the screwdriver to her palm.

"Now, Agent Haron..." He spoke softly into her ear and he slowly began to press the screwdriver into the skin of her palm, hoping to break the skin before he finished his sentence. "... You seem like an intelligent woman. It'll be a shame if you tried to defy me." He pressed the screwdriver deeper into her skin. "You will not run. You would never be able to get away from me anyway. I'll only find you again and I'll do unimaginable things to you once I've found you. SHIELD cannot stop me, don't hide behind that delusion that they're saviors." He dug the screwdriver further, knowing that his point was made clear.

Junabelle 04-07-2015 10:04 PM

At first, Evy had to take a moment to gather her balance once he had let her go. And only when he let her go did the soreness set in from how hard he had been gripping her. She rubbed where his hands were, almost cringing as she let out a relieved sigh that she had been set free from his horrid grip. Today was definitely not a good day for her, but she had to get through it the best she could. Alive.

But when he took her hand and she slowly felt the edge of the screwdriver in her hand, did he really have her attention. The screwdriver wasn't sharp, but it was definitely sharp enough. And she caught her bottom lip between her teeth. She knew she'd make it worse if she tried pulling her hand away.

Memories of months earlier, of getting tied up, beaten, sexually assaulted, starved, parched, and truly breakable flashed through her mind and it was more so the memories than the pain of the screwdriver that a tear quickly gathered and broke free down her cheek.

SHIELD not being saviors?

"SHIELD saved my life countless of times, you pig. They even saved thousands under your mess," she said through clenched teeth, her entire body frozen and stiff from the pain in her palm. She could almost smell the blood that beaded under the screwdriver, though she refused to look down at it as she stared into Loki's eyes carefully. "How are you any different," she challenged boldly.

Loki continued to press the screwdriver further into Evy's hand and he started to twist it around as he pushed it down into her skin.

"SHIELD is made up a liars and killers. They didn't save you, they're just protecting their own miserable skins and trying to cover up the lies they spread." Loki gave the screwdriver one last twist and he pulled it out from Evy's hand, watching the blood pool into her palm. He grabbed her by the wrist and threw her to the ground violently. "I seek to cure this realm of it's lawlessness, it's false sense of security under this blanket of freedom."

He stood over Evy, looking down at her with an evil smile. "I seek to improve this realm. SHIELD only continues to tear it down."

Loki then used his magic to create holographic copies of himself and he sent them searching for the weapons on the other floors of the Tower. He looked at Evy and pressed his foot against her back, pinning her to the floor.

"Once you accept that this realm is currently lost, you will find peace." He looked over at his copies as they took off in separate directions, all looking for where Stark kept the weapons. Loki hoped they'd find them soon, as they probably did not have much time before SHIELD or Stark himself arrived.

Her hand had begun to shake the further and harder he pushed the screwdriver into her hand. It only took that one twist for a tiny cry to leave her throat. Her lips parted and stretched out into a pained frown. Her anger only grew towards Loki the more he talked so poorly of SHIELD. He was only pissed that they didn't let him get his way the last time he had been here, or so she assumed, that is.

She cried out louder when she was pushed to the floor. Her hands broke her fall, steadying herself as her body was curled up on its right side. Her bloodied hand smeared against the tile floor and another tear broke free. Her hand stung, but she tried to pay as little attention to it as possible. Loki had to be the focus.

"You don't know SHIELD," she stressed at him. "You're just pissed you didn't get your way!" She clenched her teeth and her nose flared. A part of her wanted to get to her feet to punch Loki again, maybe even kick him where she's sure he'd hurt the most. But a part of her felt it wise to wait out her actions that could later prove a part of idiocy.

Her hand slipped in her blood and she lost her balance as her chest collided with the floor. And when she felt Loki's foot at her back, she held her breath.

"Haron? Agent Haron?" came in on her earpiece. "You alive?"

Quickly, before Loki could even do anything, Evy reached up and pressed the button.

"I'm hanging in there."

"We're on our way. Just sit tight," Hill said softly, as if she felt she had to try and put Evy at peace, as if they knew exactly what was going on.

"Trying," Evy ended through clenched teeth as she now looked down at her hand. No doubt he'd have left a scar. She clenched her bloodied hand into a fist, a few drops of blood falling to the smear on the floor beneath her.

Her attention back to Loki, she held her breath further. "Say what you will about SHIELD. But I owe them. I trust them." At least, she thought she did. Loki was getting into her head, making her second guess the one thing that was the reason she was alive to this day, the one thing that took her in when she had nowhere else to go, the one thing she had risked her life for so many times. They were the reason she was here. She slowly breathed out through her flaring nose and she glared down at her smear of blood, imagining seeing her reflection of tousled brown curls, reddened large hazel eyes, and a swear-glistened face.

"This is so sad." Loki sighed, "For someone who appears to be so smart, they only prove themselves to be foolish." He removed his foot from her back, now a little more confident that she wouldn't do anything stupid. He turned away from her, watching carefully as he now discovered where the weapons were through the eyes of one of his many holographic copies.

"Stand up." He growled at Evy. It was truly a shame. She was an attractive, young woman, but she looked so disheveled now. Bleeding, torn clothes and tear stained face. Loki could tell that something other than the obvious pain in her hand was causing her more pain. Loki was interested, perhaps he could play on this. Twist her mind to make her willingly stay with him... Perhaps she could be of more use than he'd originally thought.

He had one of his holographic copies grab a weapon, this was one he was not familiar with, daggers, knives, staffs, swords, he knew those like the back of his hand. The only weapons in Stark's weaponry was an array of assorted guns and firearms. Items that Loki was unfamiliar with and knew it would take him a bit of time to figure out how they worked. When the illusion returned with a large firearm in its grasp, Loki took it, allowing the copies to dissolve into the air. Loki examined it and came to the conclusion that it couldn't possibly too difficult to use. Just aim the gun and pull the trigger. Simplicity at its best.

"Stand up!" He repeated, he didn't aim the gun at her, he put his faith in her that she'd understand if she made one wrong move, he wouldn't hesitate to blow a hole in her body somewhere. He wouldn't kill her, just wound her.

Evy had never been one to be prideful, but at that very moment, any pride she had felt as if it had been torn apart. Who was this man, who didn't belong to this world, who breathed her air and walked on her ground, claim this place as his. When he took his boot back from her she curled up on herself, but only just a tiny bit. She sniffled, wiping her clean hand over her face to get rid of the tears, to dry her cheeks, and to run through her hair to put it somewhat into a better state.

She watched his copies dissolve into him, as if he were water or just a projectile. And then she eyed the weapon in his hands. No doubt one of Stark's new laser guns. Judging from the design that she had once seen at SHIELD, it had to be. While it wasn't exactly deathly, it was still something Loki would be able to use to his desires. It was dangerous enough for him.

She jumped when he repeated himself and got to her feet. She looked down at her hand. "Would you at least let me go wash this off?" she asked. The image of Stark's kitchen came to mind and suddenly, she craved the feel of cool water, as if it was just exactly what she needed to cure the sharp, sore sting that remained at her hand. She held her hand up and looked at it. While the blood had finally stopped flowing so freely, she felt a bit dizzy from the blood loss. "It can get infected easily."

She knew what his answer would be. She had read the books and seen the movies of people taken as captives against their will and used for a purpose. But surely if Loki hadn't killed her yet, he surely wouldn't let her die.

But her thoughts were cut off when she heard the SHIELD trucks engines. Or...nevermind I guess... she thought with disappointment.

When Evy had asked if she could rinse her hand, Loki contemplated the idea. Surely by now, she understood that escape would be futile and that it would be stupid of her to even attempt to escape. He opened his mouth to respond to her, but his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the SHIELD engines just outside.

He grabbed Evy and pulled her in front of him, then he shouted to the SHIELD agents outside, knowing that they could hear him,

"Be careful, agents!" He yelled, "Agent Haron's life is in the balance, if you value her as much as she believes you do, you'll proceed with caution and lend me an ear."

He grabbed Evy's arm and pressed the nozzle of the gun to her back. He noticed that she seemed a little dizzy and he threatened, "You will not pass out." He whispered sharply in her ear. He turned his attention back to the SHIELD agents,

"The scepter. It's a formidable weapon, not fit for Midgardians. Return this to me, I free Agent Haron and I will not damage your precious earth... too much." He didn't wait for a response before he continued to talk, "Think it over, agents. I'm sure Agent Haron is quite the asset."

Evy's mouth formed a thin, tight line when she felt the edge of the gun pressing against her back, right where it could shoot through, hit her heart, and kill her in an instant. Her body went frigid and she squeezed her eyes for a moment, which seemed to have proven effective as her head cleared just a bit and she was able to keep her full balance.

She stood there, listening to Loki's shouts, waiting for something to happen -- anything. She waited for him to fire, waited for the agents to burst through the door to her rescue, even waited to hear something in her earpiece. But nothing. Stark Tower was surrounded. She didn't have to look out a window to know. She heard the sirens closing in on the building, but still the doors remained shut and she held her breath.

What are you doing SHIELD?

After minutes passed, almost feeling like hours, a familiar voice came from outside. Was it the room? The hallway? Where was he?

"Loki!" yelled Director Fury. "Let the girl go. She's no used to you."

The door opened and in came Fury on his own, his hands up to show he was without a weapon. But she eyed his earpiece and knew there had to be agents waiting for word outside. She breathed slowly and deeply, being as obedient to Loki at the moment. A part of her felt disappointed at Fury's words, as if she wanted to be of used to Loki, or at least someone.

"Let Agent Haron go. She did nothing wrong to you." Nick Fury glared at Loki, his black eye patch making the look from one single eye twice as powerful as his thick ebony lips formed an unhappy frown. Evy always had trouble deciphering and reading Fury, so she wasn't quite sure if she was safe now or not.

Well I did arrest him. That counts, right?

"You want the scepter? You can't have it," Fury said slowly. "Besides. We don't have it."

Her eyes widened. What? "I thought..." Evy started softly.

Fury's eye landed on Evy and for a second, she was sure she had seen a flash of an apology in his dark eye.
