Rosemary gave Lori the exact same smile, that didn't reach her eyes. "I guess so. Maybe my mom will let me come over so we can keep each other company." She suggested. She pouted at Damian. "Oh, fine...but only because you asked so nicely."
Bruce smirked, nudging Lori with his elbow. "Do they remind you of anyone?" He whispered to her, gesturing to the two kids. |
"I don't know what your talking about." Lori smiled softly knowing exactly what he meant. "they are cute together though." she admitted seeing there young love made her feel a little better.
"Good." Damien said relieved she had agreed to take it easy for know. |
Bruce chuckled and nodded. "I wonder how long it'll be before they're officially dating." He mused.
"But you'll have to treat me to ice cream once I'm up and about again!" Rosemary said brightly. |
"Deal." Damien smiled and sat back. "We'll go once your mom agrees."
"I think it's to late for that." Lori chuckled as well. |
Rosemary smiled. "Okay." She said.
Bruce nodded. "You may be right." |
"To be young again." Lori smiled. "I remember when we acted like that. Now you can kiss me in the biggest crowd and I jus sigh happily."
"Um..." Damien glanced at Lori and Bruce. "I don't want to hear about the years you two knew each other." |
Bruce raised an eyebrow. "But Lori and I have known each other our whole lives. How can we not talk about it?" He said.
Rosemary sighed. "They're going to do that no matter what we say." She said. |
Damien pouted a little. "So long as they don't start making out."
Lori blushed softly and gave Bruce a don't you dare face. |
Bruce raised his hands to show that he wouldn't try anything, though his expression said he wanted to. He would probably pull Lori into a make out session once they were alone.
Rosemary chuckled at the sight and leaned over, beckoning Damian closer. "She's got him really well trained." She whispered so only he could hear. |
Damien burst into laughter earning a frown from Lori but that only made him laugh harder.
|
Rosemary covered her mouth, bursting into giggles. The confused glares of both Bruce and Lori only made it funnier.
"I think they're laughing at us." Bruce said. Gemini walked in right then, having just finished up Rosemary's paperwork, and looked around. "What'd I miss?" |
"There laughing at us." Lori pouted a little. 'Though I don't know why."
|
Rosemary grinned at her mother, laughing even more at her perplexed expression.
"Right...well, they can laugh all the way home. Rosemary, you're officially sprung. But!" She held a hand up at Rosemary's delighted face. "You're on doctor's orders to rest as much as possible. One week's bedrest, no strenuous activities, no stress." Rosemary's laughter faded. "Oh, great. From one prison to another." She sighed. "At least I'll be in my own room..." |
"And I'll visit as much as I can." Damien promised squeezing her hand gentle. He stood and grabbed his bag. "I'll see you soon." He headed for the car without waiting for Lori and Bruce.
"Get better soon." Lori kisses Rose's forehead. "We can train together once we both feel up to it." She stepped back. |
Rosemary nodded. At least Damian visiting would help. "See you." She said, waving as everyone left.
"Alright, our turn." Gemini said, gathering Rosemary's things. "I've got the car waiting already." She helped her daughter up and they walked out to the car together. |
Damien darted upstairs greeting Alfred as he went. Martha ran from her room "mommy!" She slid down the stairs and hugged Lori's legs. "I'm sorry I frightened you my princess." Lori carefully picked her up and held her close.
|
Bruce watched with a smile as Lori picked up their daughter. "Good morning, princess. Did you behave for Alfred?" He asked, ruffling Martha's hair.
|
"She was a perfect angel." Alfred appeared from the kitchen a smile on his face. "Me and grandpa had a tea party." Martha grinned.
|
Bruce chuckled. "Really? That sounds like fun. Did you invite anyone else? Any of your dolls...or Jason?" He asked. Part of him really hoped Jason had been at Martha's tea party.
|
"Yeah Jason was there to. Of course Miss Jessabell was there." Jessabell was her favorite doll to date. "And Mr. Arthur, and a few others." Martha smiled. "Mamma what's wrong?" she notice her mother crying and frowned.
|
Bruce put a hand on Lori's back, worried. "Mommy does need to rest." He said. "She's still not feeling completely better."
|
"OK." Martha hugged Lori tightly and wiggled away taking Alfred's hand heading back to the kitchen to "help" him cook. Lori sniffled and rubbed her eyes "sorry. I just need a moment." She finished brushing the tears away and gave him a sad smile that she was trying to force to look happy.
|
Bruce shook his head. "It's fine, Lori. Take as much time as you need." He said. "Let's get you upstairs, and you can rest a little bit."
|
Lori stared then suddenly she stormed upstairs her sadness quickly having turned to anger. She grabbed the first thing in there room she could find a priceless vase and tossed it at the wall screaming until her lungs hurt. She found a old picture of Talia and rage filled her. She tore the picture into shreds wishing that she could do that to Talia.
|
Stunned, Bruce took a few moments to understand what had just happened before he was able to act. Once it sank in, he ran upstairs after Lori and found her tearing the picture apart. Why do we even have that picture? He wondered vaguely. "Lori...? Did I...do something wrong?" He asked.
