Rosemary smiled mischievously. "They're sugar-free. My mom found a candy place that makes all that stuff sugar-free, but it tastes exactly the same." She said.
Gemini watched from the crowd as everyone danced and had fun. She smiled, happy for her daughter and son-in-law, and faded into the background. |
"Thank goodness." Damien sighed then smirked. "Do you think they would notice if we just left?" he pulled her close. "I want you all to myself."
Rosemary chuckled. "What ever happened to not rushing me?" She asked playfully. "What if I'm not ready yet?" She leaned a little closer, to whisper in his ear. "What if I want to wait for the honeymoon, so that nothing can interrupt us?"
"then we can leave early for are honeymoon." Damien smirked. "I mean if your ready for that step." he grimaced. "Though I may curl into a ball and die a little if you don't want to but I'll respect your wishes."
Rosemary frowned. "Telling me that is not going to make me want to, you know. It's only going to irritate me." She told him. "Just give me my time and don't comment on it." Turning slightly, she surveyed the room. "Now, I think we've stayed long enough to make everyone happy. If we leave now, they won't notice. So...let's go. I'm already packed for the honeymoon." She said, the smile back on her face.
Damien just grumbled something incoherent. "No we can stay for the rest of the party." he shrugged. "Its kind of late to be asking the pilot of dads private jet to fly us anyways." The longer be could avoid being alone with her in the same room they better off they would both be.
Rosemary turned and lifted his chin up so she could look him in the eyes. "I think you're misunderstanding me." She said. "I said I wanted to wait for the honeymoon. But I also said I wanted to go on the honeymoon now. I'm ready now, Damian."
Damien took a breath. "Well I could try to get a hold of him." he pulled his phone out and went to make the call. "We are a go." he grinned when he came back.
Rosemary grinned and took his hand. "Good, let's go before anyone realizes we're missing." She said, tugging him outside.
Damien laughed and let her drag him away. He got there luggage from the house and drove them to the airport boarding the plane he kissed her gentle.
Lori blinked. "Where did they go?" ((I'm out of ideas)) |
((Hm...probably a good idea to end where it started. Timeskip to finish it?))
((sure.))
A few years later Damien sat at the batcomputer going over there latest mission. Martha was training in the corner having just started to show interest in crime fighting so there father had entrusted her training to Rose and himself. He wondered where Rose had gotten off to as he stood stretching. |
((Wolfie was thinking months, not years, but okay.))
Rosemary came down the stairs at that moment, smiling happily. "Damian, there you are! Listen, I know we've talked about whether we wanted kids or not, and we really haven't decided yet, but I came across some information that might help us make the decision." She said. |
Damien took a breath and turned towards her. "Well lets here what you found love." Martha giggled. "K-i-s-s-i-n-g." she sang swing from a gymnast beam upside down.
Rosemary chuckled and stuck her tongue out at Martha, then turned back to Damian. "I found this." She showed him a printout from the doctor's office detailing a test that confirmed that she was pregnant. "I think the decision is pretty much made, dear."
Damien hit the ground so hard he started bleeding. "Damien!" Martha gasped dropping from the bar's rushing over. "Is he dead?" she asked gripping Roses hand.
Rosemary gasped and knelt down next to him. "Damian? Oh no...I didn't think he'd react this strongly! Damian, please wake up. Please?" She begged, tearing up a little. "I thought you'd be happy..."
Damien came to with a groan. "OW." he grimaced. "I'll get a first aid kit." Martha dug on out and started patching him up. He sat up carefully popping the pain pills into his mouth. "Are you OK?" Martha asked. "I think so. Thanks." he smiled at her then frowned rubbing the back of his head.
Rosemary sighed in relief when he woke up. "I'm sorry. I didn't think you'd react that way. Are you sure you're alright? I'm so sorry."
"I'm alright...I'm not being pranked am I?" Damien looked at Martha who shook her head. "Oh God. How did this happen? We've been so careful. What are we going to do?" he looked terrified.
Rosemary reached forward to take his hand. She looked on the verge of tears. "Accidents happen, love, even when you're being careful. It's not so bad, is it? We've got more than enough money to support a family, and plenty of room. I know we weren't planning it, but...I thought maybe you'd be happy."
Damien stared at her. "It's not the money issue. It's...Martha leave." Martha pouted but left. "I don't want to raise a child like my father did. Neither of us will be home at night. You'll never take a break even nine months in and...we'll be terrible parents. Lori and Alfred will raise her or him...you don't know how depressed Martha is when dad leaves. Why do you think she's training?"
Rosemary nodded. "I know. I understand...I thought of all that, as well. But Damian, I'm not going to keep going out. Not now." She never would have quit before, but this was different. "Our child is more important. I only go out these days to keep myself busy, but a baby will do that just fine. And of course I wouldn't go out during the pregnancy." She smiled at him. "As for you, I know you'll be able to manage it. You know what it's like, after having Bruce as a father, so I know you'll do better than he did. And anyway, it's too late for doubts now. I'm pregnant, whether we like it or not."
Damien took a breath. "Alright. Alright. This isn't so bad. At least the baby will be cute. Your moms going to kill me." he grimaced. "We'll get threw this together. Just...be gentle with me."
Rosemary chuckled and hugged him. "I'll do my best. And don't worry, my mom will be absolutely thrilled. It's Jason you probably have to worry about." Her mother, in the years following their marriage, had managed to open up a very successful bakery and spent most of her free time asking about grandchildren. "Actually, my mom might just hug you to death."
