"Yeah, well," Owen grumbled. "Seriously, I'm worried no one learned anything from these parks."

"People only see money when they look at these things," Shay said, shrugging. "They're not like us. Hopefully, this time the lesson stuck."

"Hopefully," Owen muttered. "Alright, let's go. I want to make sure Claire hasn't killed anything yet." He grinned.

Shay snorted.

"Jalia's probably keeping her in check," she replied. "But yeah, you should probably save her from Jalia's little herd. Some of the herbivores are... snuggly."

Owen blinked at that, perplexed, but shook his head and left to go check on them anyway.

Jalia had everything well in hand. Here meaning she'd gotten Claire settled in a room and Bella was making sad noises at not getting cuddles.

Shay could hear Bella making sad noises before she even got into the room.

"She's already going at it," she commented to Jalia. "That was quick."

"New person," Jalia said with a shrug. "Pretty sure she'll turn to Owen soon for attention." She grinned a bit.

"How's Aunt Claire holding up?" Shay asked, looking around. "By the way, I left Indy and Garnet out in Paddock Nine, they should be okay running around in there for a while."

"She's okay," Jalia said. "Stared at my herd, called me nuts, but is also checking out the building and systems. I figured her help would be fantastic, she actually worked with the system, she knows how it's supposed to work."

"Good thinking," Shay agreed. She glanced around. "I'm definitely going to keep Indy and Garnet away from her, then."

"For now at least," Jalia agreed with a nod. "She didn't seem freaked by Ruby, just wary. Which is better than I expected, honestly."

"Ruby's also a lot more docile," Shay pointed out. "Indigo is more... teeth."

"Yeah, but this is also the woman who saw Blue in action," Jalia pointed out.

"I know," Shay replied. "But compared to Blue, Ruby's just this side of actually tame." She dropped a hand as one of Jalia's herbivores wandered past, giving the little dinosaur the option of getting some attention.

Sera rubbed into Shay's hand with a happy noise before going to flop across Jalia's feet. Jalia sighed at the little triceratops.

"Where did Owen vanish to? Escaping the mad house already?"

"He said something about checking on Claire," Shay said, shrugging. She reached down and gave Sera some scritches around her frill.

Jalia nodded and absently patted Kylie, the little ankylosaur, as she passed. Kyle wasn't as cuddly as the others, though, more content to occasionally demand attention and more often food.

It took a little while, but Blue finally let Owen into the old cage. Shay kept going out there with him, just in case, though she made sure to keep her raptors far enough away from Blue so as not to be an immediate threat.

Owen took his time going in, keeping most of his attention on Blue. She seemed more relaxed with him, more accepting even than when he'd been working with her on a daily basis. But he tabled that to think about later and instead focused on looking around and finding what she was protecting.

And then he froze and swore. And then swore again.

When she didn't hear anything for several moments, Shay took out her walkie.

"Owen?" she asked quietly, so as not to startle Blue inside. "Is everything alright?"

"I know why Blue's been so freaked out," Owen said quietly, still staring. "She has a nest. One of the males must have survived, because she has eggs."

"A nest?" Shay repeated, shocked. "Jesus, no wonder she wouldn't let anyone close. "How many eggs? Do they look alright?"

"Five," Owen said, looking at the nest. "They look... fine, actually. Hard to tell for sure, but she sure looks protective enough of them." He didn't try to touch an egg yet.

"Five?" Shay asked. "Wow, that's kind of impressive, actually." She considered it for a moment. "If they look alright, then it's probably best to leave them be and see what happens."

"I figured." Owen took a step back from the nest. "Well, looks like we might have five baby raptors soon." He shook his head a little in disbelief.
