Cameron hesitated even as one hand went to her belly.

"It's Tony's," she finally murmured. "I haven't told him yet."

"Ah. I see." Jarvis sounded a little sheepish. "Apologies."

Which is precisely Tony came bursting back into the room, wild-eyed.

The sheepish tone tipped Cameron off a split second before Tony came bursting into the room.

"Tony...?" she said softly. Obviously, he knew now.

"You're--" Tony was staring at her, gaze flickering between her face and her stomach. "You didn't tell me. Why didn't you tell me? Were you ever going to tell me?" He couldn't keep the hurt out of his tone, not entirely.

"Tony--" Cameron sighed. "I was going to tell you. I just... never found a good time. And I... guess I was afraid of how you might react." She rubbed the slight swell of her stomach. "But it is yours."

"I gathered, from the approximate timing Jarvis gave me and the fact that you've been avoiding me like the plague." Tony was frowning, just a little. "Okay. So. Kid's mine, and you don't seem to want me involved. I'll make sure you've got what you need, at least."

"What? No, Tony, you've got it wrong," Cameron said, going over to him. "I know you don't want kids. But I want this one, and I was afraid you might try to make me get rid of it or something. It's not that I don't want you involved. I just thought you wouldn't want to be."

Tony blinked at that. Twice. He actually even opened his mouth and then shut it again. "I don't-- it's not that I don't want kids, per se. I don't want random kids from flings ten years ago popping up. I've never really considered kids in the present tense. Beyond the making of them." He still looked rather shell-shocked.

"I'll understand if you don't want it," Cameron said carefully. "Pepper's been helping me so far, so I know she'll still want to help. I won't make you be around for the baby if you don't want to." She looked at him hopefully. "But... I mean, if you decide you do want it, that you want to be its father, I'd be just fine with that. I wouldn't say no."

Tony didn't even pause. "Yes," was his immediate, gut response. "Yes. I'll help. You should just stay here, be easier for me to help, and you'll be closer to everything."

"I can't just up and move out of the mansion without a word," Cameron pointed out. "I need to let the Professor know, and Hank, and you know, pack up my things." She paused. "However, I could probably leave some of my things here, and live here part time, at least to begin with."

"Done, I can work with that," Tony agreed immediately. "I've got a guest room you can have if you want, or there's plenty of room up in my room. I'll convert one of the guest rooms for the kid." He paused for two seconds. "Shit I'm going to have to find out what I need for the kid. Jarvis, start working on a shopping list."

"Of course, sir," Jarvis agreed.

"Tony, you don't need to buy everything right this second," Cameron said, reaching out and touching his arm. "Really, it's okay, we have plenty of time. The baby isn't going to be here for a while."

"I know that," Tony grumbled. "But renovations have to be done. I don't think any of the guest rooms are ready as they are. Come to think of it, most of the tower isn't child proofed..."

"Tony." Cam looked at him. "Really. This doesn't have to be done right this moment. Take a day, get used to the idea, and then THEN see about gutting some of the rooms."

"I don't need to take a day," Tony protested. "It's not like I don't have the space, and if I plan things now it'll be done and ready for when the kid arrives." Really, it made perfect sense. He wasn't being unreasonable about this.

Cameron sighed. She wasn't going to feel the least bit bad about what she was about to do.

"Tony, come settle in with me for a little while, at least," she said. "It was an exciting day today, and I'm getting tired. Let's go to your room and settle for a bit."

That distracted him quickly enough. "Yeah, alright, let's go," Tony agreed, settling his arm around her waist and walking with her towards the elevators. "J, let me know when Metal Bones arrives."

"Of course, sir," Jarvis replied.

Cameron tucked herself against Tony's side as they walked.

"I have an appointment soon for another ultrasound if you want to come with me," she offered softly.

"When?" Tony asked. "I mean, barring unforseen circumstances, I will go, but I should put it on my calendar."

"Couple of days," Cameron replied. "Hopefully the world doesn't need saving again that day." She grinned a little.

"Better not," Tony grumbled, his arm tightening a bit around her. The elevator binged gently, and he stepped out onto his floor, making sure she was still with him.

Cameron let Tony guide her into his room and over to the bed. She climbed up without prompting and waited for him to join her.

"So you're sure you're alright with this?" she asked him. "The baby?"

"Yes," Tony said with a little smile. "I'm sure. It'll be fine. We can work it out."

"Alright," Cameron said. She settled in next to him, cuddling close. On a whim, she leaned up a bit and gave him a small kiss.
