You'll regret it if you don't. Cassie stretched a little and settled back again. Trust me. I know you will.
|
Nika considered that before she nodded. Alright, I'll make sure to keep in touch with this one. So is that boy toy staying in the book or is he not worth it?
|
Haven't decided. Might put him on the probational list. Cassie got out of bed quietly and headed towards the bathroom. She wanted a quick shower before she headed home.
|
Nika snickered at that. She wasn't really surprised at that; guys who tried too hard to impress Cassie usually ended up on probation. She stretched out a bit and went to go collect her rifle and get ready to go.
|
Cassie showered and left a note for her boy toy before leaving the hotel. She was sure there were other things that needed her attention, she just needed to find out what they were.
Elsewhere, Bucky was showered and gathering his things to head back to the tower. He needed to get some clean clothes and pick up his rifle so he and Anika could go shooting. Which, honestly, he was looking forward to. He found that he liked spending time with her, which was interesting in and of itself. |
Steve had settled at a coffee shop after his morning run and shower. He knew Bucky had been gone all night, and he figured he'd get a text at some point from his friend. Until then, though, coffee.
Nika was ready to go before Bucky was, not that she was all that surprised. It was her house, after all, and she'd gotten up before him. But she had her rifle in its case sitting by the door waiting. |
So I had a great night. Bucky grinned as he sent out the text. Stopping back in to change and grab that new rifle. We're going out to the range.
Cassie headed out, just moseying along. She had nothing pressing on her mind, and she was still relaxed from the night before. She wandered into a coffee shop she liked and headed up to the counter. She felt like a latte was in order. |
We? Steve asked with a grin. Oh Bucky did like this one. He glanced up with someone else came in, and he blinked when he recognized Cassie.
"Ready?" Nika asked him, grinning a bit. |
She knows her way around a gun, Bucky replied.
"Ready," he added aloud. "Just need to head to my place first to change and grab my rifle." Cassie took a sip of her latte and smiled, and then glanced around the cafe for a place to sit. She blinked when she saw him, and then grinned a bit. "Hey, stranger," she said, heading over to his table. |
Sounds like your kinda gal. Steve couldn't help but approve of that.
"Hey. Didn't expect to see you here." he grinned at her and motioned to the chair across from him in invitation. Nika nodded and locked up the house after them, motioning for him to lead. |
It's great. Bucky grinned and put his phone into his pocket. He waited until she was ready and then headed back towards the tower.
"Out early this morning," Cassie said with a shrug, sitting down. "You seem to be out early as well." |
Nika walked next to him easily, smirking a bit. "So, how good are you with your rifles?"
"Already did my run, needed my coffee." Steve grinned. "And it's nice to get out sometimes, pretend to be normal." |
Bucky grinned.
"Decent," he replied. "I get by." "I hear that," Cassie said, nodding. She grinned. "Though it's probably easier for me than it is for you." |
Nika snorted. "Oh, modesty. Not your color, handsome." She grinned at him, though, to show she was teasing.
Steve chuckled. "Considering the knuckleheads I live with? Yeah, probably." |
"I do what I can," Bucky said, grinning at her. "Besides, can't show up Captain America, right? Not allowed to hog the spotlight."
Cassie laughed a bit at that. "So you run in the mornings?" she asked. "Fun stuff." |
"Oh, I don't know," Nika said with a smirk. "Far as I'm concerned, you can."
"It helps burn some energy," Steve said with a little shrug. "Helps me sleep, and all that." |
"Nah," Bucky said, grinning. "Let him have the spotlight. I'm good bein' his right-hand man."
"I'm not usually one for running," Cassie admitted, sipping her latte. "I like yoga, though." |
Nika chuckled. "Sometimes that's easier than the spotlight," she agreed, shrugging a bit. "But, to each their own."
"That I haven't tried. I know some people who do yoga, say it's nice, but I haven't tried it yet." Steve shrugged. |
Bucky snorted.
"I stay out of things as much as I can," he said. "Face like mine gets noticed whether I want to be or not. So I keep my head down when I can." "Yoga is more relaxed," Cassie said. "Not as energy-burning." She grinned. "Not really your thing, I think." |
"Yeah, I guess that would be a problem you'd have to consider, huh." Nika grinned. "Guess I'm not used to thinking like a public figure. Or semi-public, even."
Steve grinned. "Not so much, no," he agreed easily. "But Bruce likes it. Who knows, maybe I'll try it sometime." |
"I'd say you get used to it," Bucky said with a shrug. "But you kinda can't. You just learn to cope."
"It's not going to be your thing," Cassie warned, grinning a bit. "It's not active enough for you." |
"Sounds not so fun." Nika shrugged. "I'm good where I am, absolutely not in any spotlights."
"They say trying new things is good for you," Steve said with a shrug. "Whether or not I like it is something else entirely." He grinned. |
"Let's try to keep it that way, then," Bucky said, grinning. "We can start with going into the tower through the back door."
"You won't like it," Cassie said again. "You'll see. But let me know, because I definitely like yoga, maybe your friend needs a buddy." |
Nika chuckled and nodded, following him around to the back. "Well, nice modest place here," she muttered.
Steve chuckled. "I'll mention it to him, see what he thinks," he agreed. |
Bucky snorted.
"Wasn't my choice," he replied. "This is all Stark. I'm just in it for the rent-free apartment." Cassie nodded. "Alright," she said. She stretched with a small sigh. "I'm definitely looking forward to getting back home. I'm lucky my uncle was willing to put me up in a hotel last night, my sister brought her friend home with her." |
