Bucky just raised an eyebrow at Steve in a 'see what I put up with' sort of way.
Cassie sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose briefly. Fine, but I want to be updated on everything that happens. |
Steve smirked in a 'you finally met your match' way. He wasn't smug about that, no, not at all.
"After you, Sarge," Nika snarked at Bucky after texting an affirmative to Cassie. She grinned when Steve not very well hid a laugh in a cough. |
Bucky punched Steve's shoulder as he went past.
"Punk," he muttered. "Go make sure there's a spot for these two, will ya?" |
"Will do." Steve grinned as he watched them go, already making sure with Jarvis that there were two spots open for the rogues.
Nika didn't bother to hide her curiosity as she followed him. |
Bucky let Jarvis guide him to the secure spots for the rogues. He occasionally glanced at Nika.
"Why are you even still here?" he asked. "Job's done. Go home." |
"Making sure these two are secure," Nika said with a shrug. "Call me paranoid, but I really don't like catching guys I've already caught once."
|
"They won't get out," Bucky replied. "Stark builds good stuff. They're in for good."
|
"I'll believe you when I see it myself," Nika said, glancing at him. "Not that I don't trust a pretty face, but..."
|
"Well, good to know you appreciate my face, at least," Bucky commented, giving her a bit of a smirk. "Nice to know I haven't lost my touch."
|
"You say that to all the pretty girls that punch you in the face?" Nika asked mildly with a smirk of her own. She kind of liked him, he was rather fun.
|
"Most pretty girls don't punch me in the face," Bucky replied. He glanced at her. "Most pretty girls have something else in mind."
|
"Good thing I'm not most pretty girls then." Nika smirked. She'd admit the thought had crossed her mind, but that was just asking for trouble, really.
|
"Guess so," Bucky replied. He gave her a bit of a cocky grin. "'S too bad, I've had some good fun with pretty girls."
|
"Oh I just bet you have," Nika said with a smirk. "I'd have to test your dancing first though. Can't just take any guy with a pretty face, you know."
|
That made Bucky really grin.
"Pretty girl after my own heart," he said. |
Nika snickered quietly and stopped in front of the cells. She dumped her cargo in one, checking it over briefly to make sure it really was secure. Satisfied, she stepped back again.
"Tell you what. Next time we see each other, if you ask, I might say yes." She grinned at him before she turned and left, heading back out again. |
"I might take you up on that," Bucky warned, grinning. He threw his own prisoner into the other secure room and closed it up.
|
Nika left, heading back to the apartment. It didn't take her long to get back, with coffees.
"I'm back," she called. |
"Are you alright?" Cassie asked, coming out to meet her sister. "Is everything okay? What happened?"
|
"I'm fine, everything's fine." Nika hesitated a moment, handing Cassie her coffee and fussing with her shoes for a moment. "So Barnes might not be so bad after all."
|
That made Cassie pause.
"Oh?" she asked. "How so? Did something happen?" |
"Well, we took the rogues to their cells," Nika said with a shrug. "We ended up flirting, somehow." She actually looked a little bewildered at how that had happened.
|
Cassie grinned a bit, biting back a snicker.
"I'd imagine that's new for you," she teased. |
"Oh hush." Nika shook her head. "He's good looking, he can keep up with verbal jousting, and apparently he dances. Oh, and he doesn't seem to be holding it against me that I punched him in the face. Twice." She grinned.
|
Cassie raised an eyebrow at that.
"Interesting," she said. She grinned. "I'd imagine you like that." |
