Bianca was already mostly awake, but she didn't feel any different. She did sit up though when Kendra sat next to her, staying quiet for now.
"Hey," Kendra murmured. "You okay?" She shifted a little closer to her sister, nudging her a bit.
"So far." Bianca smiled humorlessly. "I don't feel any different, not yet. Maybe it didn't work on me."
Kendra bit her lip, and brushed a finger against her sister's wrist. Immediately, her skin started to tingle, and her finger began to go numb. She gasped a bit and quickly jerked her hand back.
Bianca jerked a bit at the feeling, which was nothing like what she was used to.
"What was that?" she murmured, staring at her own skin like it didn't belong to her. |
"It's never felt like that before," Kendra murmured, trying to massage some feeling back into her fingers.
"No it hasn't," Bianca agreed, curling in on herself. "Guess I do need to learn something new after all.'
"We both do," Kendra murmured, settling in next to her sister. "Maybe it'll be like when we were kids, when we first got them."
"Yeah," Bianca murmured. "Yeah, maybe. At least it's not completely new, right? We still have at least some idea what we're doing."
Kendra just nodded a bit and leaned against her sister a bit. She was careful not to touch Bianca's skin for the moment, however. She didn't want her lightning to get out of control before she was able to stop it.
Bianca was similarly careful, though she did settle a bit with a little sigh.
"Well, hey, things are looking up-ish," she said. |
"Ish," Kendra replied, shrugging a bit. "Compared to earlier, at least." She sighed a little.
"Right. We just need to keep working on this, and things will work out. Eventually." Her smile was a little strained though.
Kendra made a vague sound and settled closer to her sister. Now that she was more reassured that Bianca was okay, she was exhausted.
Bianca ended up staying awake, but that was partially because she had trouble sleeping to begin with. She did, however, encourage Kendra to settle down and try to sleep.

Once dark had fallen again, Daredevil headed out to find Pietro and Wanda. He felt the need to check on the girls and see if they were alright after the whole incident.
Wanda was waiting for him on the rooftop of their building, kicking her feet as she sat on the edge.
"Took you long enough." |
"I do have a day job," Daredevil pointed out. "Not all of us can squat in an empty building." He was silent for a moment. "How are they?"
"Adjusting." Wanda shrugged fluidly. "They're doing alright, for what happened to them."
"Good." Daredevil was quiet for a moment. "I might have a lead on the people who did this to them. I've got a hunch about who's behind it. For now, I think you and your brother should keep them with you, keep an eye on them."
Wanda nodded. "We thought so as well," she agreed. "Just in case. They need the stability right now."
Daredevil nodded.
"Good," he said. "I'm going to try to track down the people that did this. I'll let you know what I find." |
"Good." Wanda smiled, and it wasn't a very nice smile. "Have fun." She fully expected that when he did find the people responsible, most of them would end up in the hospital.
Daredevil smirked a bit.
"You can't see it, but I would be rolling my eyes," he said. With that, he headed off. Time to run down some leads. |
Wanda snorted quietly but headed back inside after he left. He'd let them know either way, no use waiting for him right then.
