"You're alright too, Miss Lori!" Gemini called happily. Turning to Al, she frowned. "What do you mean? Of course you're a person. Humanity isn't based on flesh and blood, you know. It's based on what's inside. Your soul. And you have a beautiful soil, Al."

Walking over close to Lori, Roy leaned down to whisper to her so he wouldn't be heard. "Why is it the kids we pick up always come out with the most philosophical stuff out of nowhere?" He asked her. "What happened to kids that talked about toys?"

Al glowed at the praise. "Thanks Gemini for the vote of confidence."

"I have no idea...the war changed a lot of things those who survived raised smarter kids." Lori smiled softly.

Gemini smiled again. "You don't have to thank me. I'm only telling the truth." She said. 'Oh, good kitty! Good job, Helena." She praised the kitten for peeing in the litterbox.

Roy's expression clouded over for a second, but then it cleared and he smiled. "Yeah...I guess you're right." He said. "Then again, you always are."

"So Miss Lori and Mustang huh?" Al happened to notice the two of them standing close together.

"I'm not always right...I'm sorry I brought up the war I know you don't like the thought of it." Lori squeezed his hand.

Gemini nodded. "It looks like it." She said, keeping true to her promise not to give away Loti's feelings. "I think they'd make a good couple."

Without thinking, Roy squeezed her hand back. "No, it's fine. I'm a grown man, I should be able to handle people talking about it." He said.

"You hate would you had to do." Lori smiled at him. "I understand Roy." she looked to the kids who where staring and blushed.

"Seems like they would." Al blinked. "We have been caught." he looked sheepish.

"Right...well, am I welcome to stay for dinner or should I head home?" Roy asked, changing the subject.

Gemini giggled. "They won't say anything. They're in denial." She whispered to Al.

Al chuckled "Why do I have a feeling your going to help them along?" he looked to the girl seeming to be smiling.

Lori blinked then smiled. "Your welcome to stay Roy." she went to start making supper looking back she realized that they where missing someone. "Gemini would you mind going to get Ed?"

Gemini nodded. "I might." She said evasively, a tiny smile on her face. "Okay miss Lori! Come on Al, let's go together." She said, jumping up and pulling Al out the door.

"They sure left in a hurry." Roy said, a little stunned. "Those two are cute together." He remarked.

"Yeah as strange as that is to say about a girl and a suit of armor." Lori chuckled as she made supper.

Al blinked and let her pull him. "How are you this strong?"

Gemini slowed down a little and tilted her head. "I'm not really sure. Adrenaline?" She guessed, shrugging. "I just wanted to make sure they were alone together." She added with a wicked smile.

Roy chuckled as well, realizing how odd it sounded. "After a while, you stop thinking of Al as anything but Al." He said finally. Coming up to her, he leaned against the counter. "Can I help at all?"

"Of course you can help." Lori handed him some vegetables. "Would you mind cutting these?"

"You devious." Al chuckled and stopped outside the hotel where they had been staying waving at his brother who was coming back with a muffin.

"Okay, then." Roy took the vegetables and set them on the counter. Then he found a knife and started cutting them up.

Gemini giggled a little, then turned to see Ed walking towards them with a muffin. "Wait, don't eat that yet!" She yelled. "Miss Lori is making dinner, and you're invited, and you can't ruin your appetite!"

Ed sighed then bite into the muffin anyways. "I have a large appetite." he mumbled around the muffin. "Lead the way."

Lori hummed as she cooked reaching over him several times to get something mind lost in her work.

Gemini pouted. "You'd better, cuz if you can't finish Miss Lori's gonna hurt you." She said. "Come on. But walk slowly. We don't want to walk in at a bad time." Her devious smile returned.

Once finished with the vegetables, Roy continued to help out however he could. He even set the table- after checking to make sure there was no one who could see him doing it.

Lori was watching Roy smirking a little. "Your so nice when you want to be." she chuckled teasing him gentle.

"What are you talking about?" Ed looked to Al who shrugged a little.

Roy cringed slightly, caught. "Okay, you caught me. I can be nice." He said, turning to face Lori. He smirked. "Just don't tell anyone, okay? I need people to think I'm a tough guy."

"Miss Lori is entertaining a guest right now, and if we're lucky it's going well. I hope they kiss." Gemini said with a dreamy smile. It was like a fairy tale, she thought.

"I don't know about that." Al chuckled. "At least not right away anyways." he seemed to underestimate Lori and Roy.

"Oh I won't till...well I may tell Riza." Lori smirked a little. "I think I'll keep this side of you to myself for know."

Gemini giggled, but once again didn't say anything. She had promised Lori she wouldn't tell how she felt about Roy.

"What's this? Are you blackmailing me?" Roy smirked at her. "How mean, Lori." He teased.

"Mean I may be but someone has to keep you in check." Lori snorted and set the food on the table. "There all we need are the children." She sighed softly and turned realizing how close she was to him.

Roy seemed to realize how close they were at the same time Lori did. He looked up from the table into her eyes and smiled. "Ah...hi." For once he was lost for words.

"Hi." Lori's blushed and shifted backwards a little she wanted to kiss him but she won't Roy was her boss and her friend she didn't want to ruin there relationship.

Roy felt a pang of disappointment as Lori started to move away. Unlike her, he wasn't thinking of the consequences- he wasn't thinking at all. He reached out, pulled her back to him and kissed her.

Lori's eyes widened in surprise and she blushed softly after a second she kissed him back melting against him.

Al sighed as Ed pushed him into the apartment building with Gemini's help. "You couldn't have gone for a smaller suit?" Ed just shrugged "it was the closest thing."

Gemini huffed. "Just turn a little..." She said, just as they managed to shove Al through. The sudden absence of resistance sent Gemini and Ed both flying forward. "Ow..." Gemini landed on top of Al, looked up and blushed brightly at the sight of Lori and Roy so close to each other.

Roy was pleasantly surprised when Lori actually kissed him back. He was even starting to think that this could work when suddenly a crash came from the door. He was startled away from Lori, and blushed as he realized the kids had caught them kissing.
