"I know." Roy smirked a little. "But you already did that before, so I know how to balance. And later, when it's safe, I'll be able to spend more time with you."

"You better." Lori smirked a little. "Just be careful. I don't want to lose you."
Al and Ed stood with Gemini at the train station. "i feel bad leaving without saying goodbye to Lori." Ed sighed a little. |
Gemini frowned. Part of her wanted to go with them- she wanted to help- but she had her own mission now. "I'll let her know you said bye. Wish me luck on my first job." She said, putting on a brave smile.
Roy nodded. "I'll be as careful as I can. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere any time soon." He said confidently. "We should probably go rejoin the world before someone comes looking for us." |
"Alright." Lori went back first and acted like nothing had happened as she headed home. "Gemini are you back yet?" she called into the apartment.
Al and Ed waved to her till they where out of side promising to be back soon. |
Roy waited a few minutes after Lori left, then went back and started to deal with things.
Once the brothers were gone, Gemini went back to Lori's apartment. She got in just before Lori and went to feed the kitten. "Miss Lori, you're back!" She said happily. "I got worried when you disappeared." |
"I was fine. Just had to take care of something."Lori smiled. "You should be packing your train leaves early tomorrow."

Gemini smiled. "I knew it. You were with Colonel Mustang." She said, giggling. "I'll go pack now." She hurried off to her room to pack.

"Little.'' Lori grumbled but smiled softly glad she could be with Roy even if they couldn't tell anyone.

"I'm not that small!" Gemini's indignant voice came from the other room, though she didn't seem too upset. She knew how small she was. Coming back out of her room, Gemini perched herself on a chair. "Miss Lori? Do you know what Al used to look like, before...when he had a body?" She asked, trying to look like she didn't care and failing.

"I've never seen a picture of the boys when they where little. That's something you should ask Winry if you ever get the chance to meet her." Lori smiled. "Know." she handed the girl a small gun. "Alchemy can get you far but sometimes it's good to have backup."

Gemini quickly covered up a look of disappointment as she very carefully took the gun. She looked up at Lori, feeling nervous. She'd never even held a gun before, let alone used one. "Th-thank you...I hope I don't have to use it, though." She admitted.

"I hope so to but with Scar running around it's better safe then sorry." Lori smiled at her. "Go get some sleep I'll wake you in the morning."

Gemini nodded. "Okay. Goodnight, miss Lori!" She said, hopping off the chair and heading to her room.

Lori woke early and made breakfast with a yawn she went to wake Gemini. "Gemini time to get up." She turned the light on and pulled the blanket off the girl.

Gemini wasn't under the blanket- rather, she was sleeping curled up at the foot of the bed like an animal. Grumbling, she woke up and looked at Lori. "Is it morning already?" She asked, rubbing her eyes.

"Yes it is...I would ask but I know better then to ask things." Lori smirked. "I made breakfast." She wondered out into the kitchen.

Gemini blinked. "Ask what?" She asked, but she was distracted by the thought of food. "Yay, breakfast!" She hopped up and followed Lori out to the kitchen.

After breakfast Lori walked her to the train holding her suitcase so Gemini could explore if she wanted. "Do you have everything? Your watch?"

Gemini wanted to explore, but she was too nervous. She kept checking that she had everything. "Yes, I've got my watch." She said, putting her hand in her pocket for about the twentieth time that hour. "I'm sure I have everything." This would be her first time traveling alone, ever. "Do you think I'll do okay, miss Lori?"

"I'm sure you will. I'm just a phone call away and the person in charge of that town is a great person." Lori loaded the suitcase on the train then helped Gemini up giving her a hug. "Be careful." she stepped back. "Call when you get there." she said as the engine started up.

"Okay." Gemini nodded. "I will! Thank you! Don't forget to feed the kitten!" She called, waving as the train pulled away.

Lori waved until the train was out sight then headed to Roy's. She knocked waiting for the man to come to the door a smile on her face hopping he was home.

Roy answered the door looking disheveled. He had clearly just woken up. His eyes lit up when he saw Lori. "Hey. Good morning. Come on in."

Lori blushed at how he looked but entered. "I was thinking since we don't have anything to do today maybe we could watch a movie." She glanced around at his bachelor pad.

"Oh. Yeah, okay." Roy said, smiling. His apartment was neater than one would expect. There were work related papers everywhere, but they were well organized.
