Roy nodded. "I hate to say it, but yeah. We thought maybe we'd let you take a crack at him tomorrow. And if that doesn't work...a Teletubbies marathon."

Lori blinked and then laughed. "Let's hope I manage to break him then."

Roy managed a smile. "Yeah, let's hope." He said. "But for now, let's just relax for a while. How is May doing? Is she asleep? I can order pizza if you want."

"yes she's asleep and she's fine."Pizza sounds great." Lori took his hand "and relax."
|
"Okay. Good." Roy sighed, suddenly aware of how tired he was. He went to the phone to order pizza, then came back to sit down.

Lori sat down next to him and curled against his side sighing. "At least there's never a dull moment."

"Sometimes I wish there would be." Roy said with a sigh. "Excitement is fine, but this is too much excitement."

"I agree with that." Lori sighed. "This day started out so well and then things blew up fast."

"I expected this kind of thing when I set out to become president." Roy admitted. "But at the time, I had no idea I would have a wife and child with me in the bullseye."

"Well now you do and we'll adjust to it. So long as May is OK we'll be OK." Lori kissed his cheek gentle.

"As long as May and you are both okay, I'll be okay." Roy said, putting his arm around her shoulders. Just then, there was a knock at the door. "That'll be the pizza."

Lori sighed and got up paying for the pizza. She returned with the food plopping back down "eat up." she took a piece and bite into it.

Roy grabbed a piece and bit in, taking almost half the slice in one bite. "I didn't realize I was that hungry." He said after he swallowed it.

"It's been a long day." Lori patted his leg. "And I hate to break this but it's not even one yet.

Roy groaned softly. "I'll have to go in to work still. I can't skip or things won't get done. But I don't wanna..."

"My poor baby." Lori sighed. "I wish I could tell you to stay but you are the president. If you want I'll go with you so that you don't have to worry about the two of us."

Roy shook his head. "I don't want you or May out in public just yet. Plus, May is sleeping. I can't have you interrupt her nap time just to move her to a noisy, crowded building."

"Alright." Lori shrugged and went back to eating. "I'm not going to argue with you about it."

Roy sighed again and took another piece of pizza. "I'm going to leave a guard here just in case though. Okay?"

"Alright." Lori nodded. "that i can agree with. It would make me feel better."

"Good." Roy finished his piece of pizza and wiped off his face. "I have to get going. If you need anything at all, just call me okay?"

Lori nodded. "I'll call." she stood and pulled him close. "Be careful." she kissed him gentle then let him go.
Al woke with a groan not sure where he was for a second. "Oh yeah." he grimaced. |
"I will. Love you." Roy said, looking back at her one more time before heading out.
Gemini had gone and come back, hoping to be there when Al woke up. At the time, she was sitting in a chair next to the bed, holding his hand in both of hers. When he woke, she perked up. "You're up. I was getting worried." |
Al smiled at her. "Those drugs really knocked me out. You know that's the first time I've had pain killers." he grinned. "Another life experience."

"One I'd prefer you didn't have to go through again." Gemini said with a sad smile. "Do you need anything? Water, food, anything? I'll call a nurse for you."
