Steve squeezed her hand slightly. "Don't do anything that will hurt you worse. We'll get you cleaned up soon enough." He told her. "We just need a bandage for now, until we can get back..."

Gemini moved forward a bit more, not allowing any arguments. "Hold still. It won't hurt." She said, holding one hand over the wound. It glowed a faint greenish color, and the wound started to close. A minute later, Gemini took her hand away. "It's not perfect, but it should do until you can get proper medical treatment."

"Is that another ability you've always had, or is it new?" Steve asked, curious.

"It was the first power I ever exhibited, after empathy. It's actually kind of standard for empaths, but I'm...substandard at best. I can fully heal superficial wounds, but anything deeper I can only patch up. I'm basically a Band-Aid."

"Still useful as hell."

"Language."

"Shut up."

Aurora was still staring at her red covered hand swallowing slightly. "I don't feel." she trailed off feeling lightheaded and slightly sick.

Tony caught her a second after she pitched forward cursing slightly. "Aurora?" he grimaced. "Did she really use that much blood?" he passed the girl to Steve wanted to get out of his suit.

Steve took Aurora, moving her slightly to hold her in a more comfortable position. "Maybe she's squeamish about blood?" He said, worried about the woman.

"It doesn't matter right now. She needs rest and medical attention as soon as possible." Gemini said, feeling a bit lightheaded herself. She'd used too much power.

"No." Tony stepped out of his suit collapsing it to it's suitcase form. "She's never been squeamish about blood before she most have lost to much blood or that bullet had something else in it." He frowned. "We need to get to the safe house." He looked at Gemini. "You alright to walk?"

Gemini nodded, doing her best to keep steady as she stood up. There was no way she was going to make a fuss when Aurora was unconscious for an unknown reason. "I'm fine. Let's go." She said.

Steve stood up, holding Aurora gently. "In that case, let's hurry." He said, becoming increasingly worried.

Tony lead the way then cleared the table. "Set her down." he looked to Bruce who had transformed back. "Let's have a look." Bruce put on his classes and examined the wound frowning softly. "Nothing looks wrong." he noticed a power on her arm. "Tranquilzer maybe."

Aurora heard a voice in her head even though she was asleep. "Come and get me." It whispered as a warmth filled her. She noticed a orange red glow and tried to reach for it. Her body started to glow faint line of fire covering her arms.

Steve set Aurora down and watched with concern. "What's happening to her?" He asked, slightly panicked at the sight of her body starting to light on fire.

"She's dreaming...I can't feel much from her. But the fire's not hurting her. It could be a new power surfacing, or an old power getting stronger." Gemini suggested.

"Maybe." Tony mused blinking when Aurora stood eyes opening slowly. "OK is anyone else having a horror movie moment?" He shivered and then tried to stop Aurora from leaving.

Aurora had to find that light she reached for it but something was in her way. She set whatever it was on fire and frowned when she heard a curse the voice sounded familiar.

Tony slapped his arm which was on fire cursing softly.

Jumping forward, Gemini used her powers to draw the fire away from Tony and dissipate it. She turned to Aurora, at a complete loss for what to do. "I've never seen anything like this before..."

Wary of the flames, Steve reached out to place a hand on Aurora's shoulder. "Aurora...Aurora wake up. Come on, come back to us." He pleaded to her gently, afraid of causing more damage.

Aurora heard a voice it was sweeter than the lights voice. She froze and frowned turned from the light which snarled and tried to pull her back. She fought against it then woke with a start gasping.

"Thanks." Tony rubbed his arm frowning softly then blinked at Aurora. "She's awake." He smiled as she looked around looking a little confused.

Steve gave a tiny sigh of relief. "Aurora...? Are you okay?" He asked, still worried about her.

"No problem." Gemini said, turning to Aurora. "Is she back? What happened?" She asked.

Aurora glanced at them then drew in a deep breath. "I'm alright." she shook herself. "They have the fire stone." she shivered. "It called to me. If I hadn't been woken I would have gone after it."

"The fire stone?" Gemini asked, eyes wide. "I don't suppose that's anything like this Aether inside of me, is it?" If it was, they were in trouble.

Steve shook his head. "And it called to you? What are we supposed to do about that? What if it happens again while no one's looking? Like when everyone is asleep?"

Gemini raised her hand. "Insomniac." She reminded him. "I can keep watch at night. And since we're all in such close quarters, we can probably have everyone watching everyone all the time."

"Somehow that doesn't make me feel any better about this."

"It is kind of like the Aether only it can set everything and anything on fire." Aurora shuddered. "It don't know what to do. I'm not good at staying awake." She was amazed that Steve's voice had brought her back.

"Maybe we're far enough away from it that it won't be able to call you?" Gemini asked, though she didn't sound optimistic.

Steve shook his head. "No. We'll need to take a more proactive approach and go after it ourselves. If we can secure it we send it somewhere safe- and maybe get the Aether out of you in the process."

"And how exactly are we going to accomplish that? I know I killed half the people there, but that's not enough to make it easy and I'm NOT doing it again."

"No one is asking you to- wait, it was that many? That was you?"

"Focus!"

"We can't go back if they have it." Aurora looked terrified. "If it senses the Aether...well it wouldn't be good no matter what happened. If I go near it I don't think I have the will power to not take it for myself."

"What brought you back?" Tony asked though he had an idea. Aurora blushed and glanced at Steve but didn't say anything. "That's what I thought." He chuckled.

Gemini blinked, looking from Aurora to Steve. It took a moment before a smile crossed her face. "That's so sweet!" She said, looking like a child.

Steve's face was blank, not understanding what they were talking about. Finally, it dawned on him, and he blushed. "Sh-shut up..." He said.

Aurora cleared her throat as Tony chuckled. "Moving right along." She shifted trying to remember what she had been talking about.

"So in short. The two of you should not go near the stone, and you love Steve." Tony smirked as Aurora blushed more.

"That sounds about right." Gemini agreed, nodding.

"So we're back down to the regular group." He said. "Not a huge problem, though it's not thrilling. After Gemini...thinned the numbers, it shouldn't be too hard to get in and out if we need to. All we need now is a safe place to put the stone once we manage to get it."

"Way to avoid your emotions. Very masterful." Gemini muttered.

"i thought it was pretty good for the old man." Tony smirked a little then noticed Aurora yawning. "I think someone needs a nap."

"I'm fine...as for the stone if they aren't stupid they'll have the container father kept it in." Aurora mused. "It would be black and look a little like a treasure chest."

"That shouldn't be too hard to find." Steve said optimistically, ignoring the old man comment. "We'll regroup and try again tomorrow."

"Just don't wait too long." Gemini said. "They'll be calling in reinforcements after losing all those people today."

"We'll take an hour rest." Tony smiled at the girls. "Would you girls like a lift." he wiggled his eyebrows.

"I'm fine." Aurora stood then tripped over her own two feet catching herself on Steve's arms.

Steve caught Aurora quickly, helping her up with a blush. "Are you sure you're alright?" He asked.

Gemini shrugged, wanting to seem strong. "I'm fine." She said at the same time as Aurora.

"They are not fine." Tony snorted and lifted Gemini surprising most of the team. "What did you think the suit was all that was tough about me?" He smirked. "They things you don't know might shock you." He carried Gemini to her room.

Aurora smiled at Steve and took a step. "I'm alright just tired." She watched Tony carry Gemini up the stairs. She stared at the steps willing her body to move but it protested half from exhaustion half because she wanted Steve to carry her.

"Eep!" Gemini squeaked, not expecting to be picked up so suddenly. "Th-this really isn't necessary, I c-can walk just f-fine..." She stammered, though her protesting was weak.

Steve followed Aurora and placed a hand on her arm. "It's okay, you don't have to force yourself." He said. "You're allowed to be tired, especially after taking a bullet." He wouldn't pick her up without permission, but if she needed him to he was right there.
