Wanda shot them a small smile. "We all escaped from them," she murmured. "With help." She glanced at Barnes again.

Mala blinked, looking at him a little more carefully now. That was... unexpected to learn.

"...Really?" Nadia ventured. She hadn't realized that Wanda and Pietro had escaped as well. They seemed to be able to take care of themselves just fine.

Wanda nodded. "Hydra wanted us for their mutant experiments," she murmured. "Fortunately for us, Barnes found us and helped us."

"I see," Nadia murmured. Her fingers tightened around the blindfold still in her hands.

"We've all escaped from them," Wanda murmured. "No need to take responsibility for any of this." She reached over slowly to Nadia, touching her shoulder.

Nadia shrugged away from her touch, and just put the blindfold back on. Once it was secure, she hunkered down, doing her best to stay out of the way.

Barnes made his way around, making sure the doors and windows were secure again. He was going to be paranoid for a while, now, and he had half a mind already to move them all again.

Wanda let her be, instead moving away to talk quietly to Pietro.

Mala settled down next to Bianca, keeping an eye on everyone.

The group was safe there for a few more days, and then someone else came knocking. This time, however, it wasn't Hydra. It was the Avengers.

"You sure he's here, Cap?" Clint asked as he kept watch. "No movement on the ground floor."

"He's there," Steve said. "He'll have found the most defensible place there and holed up." He wasn't approaching yet, but he was this close to saying screw the plan and just going in.

Clint sighed.

"Alright," he said. "Then I'm going in. I'll tell you once I've scouted the place."

"Be careful," Steve reminded him again. Sam sighed from next to him. At least he wasn't having to restrain Steve again... yet.

"You know me, Cap," Clint said as he crept into the upper level of the warehouse cautiously.

Steve waited silently to hear, listening for any kind of sound.

This time, it wasn't Barnes who met the intruder first. It was Wanda, and she narrowed her eyes a little when she spotted Clint.

"Who are you and what do you want?" Her hands started glowing, just a little, but she didn't outright attack him yet. She knew he wasn't Hydra.

"Hey, easy," Clint said, holding up his hands slowly. "I'm not here to hurt you."

"Why are you here?" Wanda didn't relax, and she didn't back down yet. He was sort of familiar, in a way she couldn't put her finger on. But she was ignoring that for right now.

"I'm helping someone track down an old friend," Clint said, still making sure she could see his hands. "The trail brought us here. Maybe you know him? Used to go by James Barnes?"

Wanda did blink at that. "Old friend?" she questioned. But the glow was gone from her hands, and her posture wasn't quite as threatening. For the moment.

Clint nodded.

"Yeah," he replied. "A buddy of mine is looking for him, Steve Rodgers? Barnes is a friend of his from way back."

At that Wanda did relax. Barnes had mentioned Rogers a few times, after all.

"You still haven't given me your name," she pointed out, just to be stubborn.

"Barton," Clint responded. He wouldn't give a first name, not yet.

Wanda eyed him for a few moments more before she nodded. "Barnes isn't here right now," she told him. "Not sure when he'll be back."

"Great," Clint responded. He glanced around. "Is there anyone else here? I'd rather there not be any surprises happening."

"There are others here," Wanda replied carefully. "We'll not bother you though, and you won't have to wait long for Barnes."

"How many more of you?" Clint asked. "Why are you all here?"

"A few," Wanda replied evasively. She went quiet for a few moments before she nodded. He was okay, then. "Four of us, and Barnes. We've been hiding out here, recovering."
