"...No," Steve admitted. "Neither of them do." He winced a little, expecting retaliation for that.

Natasha raised an eyebrow.

"So you've spent the last week pining over them and haven't even introduced yourselves?" she asked. "How do you expect to get to know them when they don't have the chance?"

"Nat, they're hunters, we can't just--just walk up and say hi," Steve said, only flailing a little at the idea.

"You probably could," Natasha mused. "You would be surprised at what a hunter may let slide."

"It's not that easy, it's never that easy," Steve said, shaking his head. But now that Nat, the reasonable one, had presented that idea...

"You never know until you try," Natasha said gently. "Perhaps you can even get James to do the same. It might be good for him."

Steve hesitated. "Maybe," he agreed. "Maybe. Bucky, though... might be a bit harder to convince. You know how he gets."

Natasha smiled.

"That would be why it's your job," she pointed out. She nudged him gently. "Go on."

Steve huffed but got up and went to go find Bucky again and talk to him about this. Because they really did need to do something, soon.

Natasha smirked a bit and leaned back, running her fingers through Clint's hair when he sat down on the vacated couch.

"This should be fun to watch," she said to him.

"Oh yeah," Clint agreed, pressing into her hand with a little hum. "Very fun. Fireworks galore."

"They've been stalking those poor girls ever since that first night," Natasha commented. "Completely lovesick."

"They're totally puppies by now," Clint agreed. "Betcha Barnes is watching his girl right now from afar."

"That, darling, is called a sucker's bet," Natasha said, giving him a fondly exasperated look. "Of course he is."

Clint snickered and settled in there to wait for the next bit of excitement.

Fortunately, Steve knew where to find Bucky by now, and it didn't take him long.

"Hey Buck."

Bucky had staked out a convenient tree, where he could see the apartment. Through the window, he could keep an eye on the hunter girl.

"Hey," he said, moving over slightly so Steve could get in next to him.

Steve settled in next to him for a few minutes. Then he huffed.

"You know, you could try talking to her," he said quietly.

"What?" Bucky looked at him, startled. "No, god no, she's a hunter, she'd try to stake me on the spot."

"She probably won't notice immediately, we've been passing as humans for years," Steve pointed out. "And you don't have to go up to the house and do it. Bump into her while she's out, or something."

"If it's that easy, why don't you do it?" Bucky retorted, glancing back at the window again. "Don't think I haven't seen you out here too."

"I will," Steve said after a moment. "Besides, you're also having a worse time of it. You're here more often than not, Buck."

Bucky just kind of shrugged at that.

"Just wanna see her," he muttered.

"You could see her a lot more if you introduced yourself to her," Steve told him. "Could even touch, maybe." He knew that would be a big incentive.

Bucky bit his lip at that. That was definitely a good incentive.

"Maybe," he finally said. "We'll see."

Steve clapped him on the shoulder. "Just think about it," he said with a little grin. "'fore you forget yourself and steal her." He said it teasingly but it wasn't entirely a joke.
