"Punk," Bucky muttered. He couldn't help a small grin. "Wouldn't put it past you, either."

Steve grinned a bit. "Nah, I'm a gentleman," he teased. "Unlike you. I remember my manners."

Bucky snorted.

"You first, then," he said, gesturing in the direction of the two hunter girls. "If you're sure she'll have you."

Steve snorted quietly. "Nah, best not do it while they're home, that's a little too odd," he murmured. "Would be better if they went somewhere and we could bump into them. On accident, of course."

"Well, then, let me know how that goes," Bucky said. He looked back towards the girls. "For now, I'll keep my distance."

Steve shook his head a bit but didn't try to change his mind. He knew how useless that was by now.

A couple of weeks later, Aurora was still between jobs and was relaxing at a coffee shop. The slashes on her collarbone were healing, but were still not pretty.

Reilly had her own cup of tea and was just lounging in her seat, eyes half-closed for the moment.

Steve had tracked them to the coffee shop and bought himself a cup of coffee, settling in and trying to figure out how to approach Aurora.

"It's kind of nice to just relax here," Aurora murmured, sipping her coffee. "Nothing trying to kill us, no Tony getting on us about testing things."

"Mmm." Reilly smiled a bit. "Too true. Quiet is nice, like this."

Aurora nodded and stretched a little. As she did, she glanced around the cafe, and did a bit of a double-take when she saw someone sitting off in the corner.

"Hey, you see that guy?" she said quietly. "Doesn't he look kind of familiar?"

"Hmm?" Reilly shifted a bit so she could see him without outright looking. "I guess? Sort of." She shrugged a bit.

"I swear I've seen him before," Aurora said, looking at him again. Then she turned back around. "And it was recently. I just don't know where."

"Couldn't tell you." Reilly shrugged. "He doesn't look that familiar to me so maybe someone you saw on your own?"

"I don't know," Aurora said. "Maybe." She shook her head a bit. It was going to bother her until she figured it out, she knew it would. She stole one more glance at the mystery man and then turned back to her coffee.

Steve had heard the conversation, and decided that he'd go ahead and do something about it, in the most innocent way he could manage. So he waited until the two were done and walking out. And then he bumped into Aurora.

"Sorry," he said, turning to look at her as if surprised. "I didn't see you, I'm so sorry, are you okay?"

Luckily, Aurora had already finished her coffee and thrown away the cup at that point.

"Yeah, I'm fine, sorry," she said backing up a bit. "My fault too, you okay?" She looked at him and blinked. It was the same guy from earlier.

"Yeah, no, I'm fine." Steve smiled a bit. "I'd offer to buy you a new coffee but at least you didn't have one to spill?" It came out more as a question at the end, because for all his planning, now that he was actually here, he was internally flailing a bit.

Aurora raised an eyebrow. Well, this was new. She wasn't used to guys paying attention to her like this.

"I wouldn't say no to a new coffee anyways," she offered. Hey, if nothing else, she'd get a free coffee out of it, and at least he was pretty. There were definitely worse things than flirting with an attractive guy.

Steve grinned. "My kind of lady," he agreed. "How do you take yours?" He moved a bit to get back in line to get her coffee.

"Milk and caramel," Aurora replied, grinning a bit. She glanced at her sister and gave her a sort of 'I'll catch up' wave.

Reilly nodded and headed off to go do some window shopping or something.

Steve grinned and nodded, going to order coffees for them both. So far, so good.

Aurora was pleasantly content as she waited for her coffee.

"So who are you, anyways?" she asked, looking at him.

"Sorry, guess my manners escaped." Steve ducked his head with a little grin. "My name's Steve."

"Aurora." She grinned a bit. He really was kind of adorable. "I'm surprised I haven't seen you around before. I definitely would have remembered your face if I had."
