Rosemary grabbed his legs and lifted. "Ugh! What does this guy eat?" She muttered as she helped Lori drag the prince deep into the forest.

Once there Lori took the packs of the horse so it could roam free. "There." she nodded whipping the sweat from her face. "Lets go back before he wakes." she headed off glancing back to stare at Cas with a sad look on her face.

Rosemary nodded, too out of breath to speak at the moment, and headed off. Looking back, she saw Lori's expression and slowed her pace. "He's going to be fine, you know. He'll find his way out eventually."

"I know." Lori took her sister's hand. She had to believe he would be fine or she would turn back and check on him. She almost did but she gripped her sister's hand harder letting herself be pulled along.

Sensing her sister's hesitation, Rosemary squeezed her hand back and started talking to distract her. "We still have a problem to figure out when we get back. Those boys are too suspicious...and the fact that Cas found us so quickly means we're too easy to find. It's even possible that the message you intercepted was between them and the prince. So as much as I really don't want to, we might have to consider moving on."

"I know." Lori shook her head. "This sucks. We'll have to go further. At least this time we have plenty of money to buy a house next time." she shrugged a little. When they got back she flopped onto there bed and sighed deeply.

Rosemary dropped down next to her sister, leaning on the headboard for support. "Lori...I'm sorry." She said after a minute. "I know you probably would never have left if it weren't for me. I dragged you away from your home and family and duties...and I never even stopped to think that you might have been happier where you were. I was selfish. I...I'm so sorry."

"No it's OK Rosey." Lori rolled to face her sister. "I wouldn't have been truelly happy. I may not have ever realized it but I would have been miserable under the false cheer and pleasant smiles. I think I'm to broken to know how to be happy unless I'm with you."

Rosemary sniffled quietly, putting up a heroic effort to not cry. "You're not broken, Lori." She said, her voice surprisingly even. "You're great. Definitely more whole than I am. I'm the one who can't live without you."

"At least we have each other." Lori pulled her sister down next to her and pulled her into a bone crushing hug.
Meanwhile Alex came to with a groan. "Ow." he flinched. |
Cal had just returned from his last job of the day to visit Alex. Seeing his brother was awake, he started over to him. "Hey. Should I even ask how you're feeling?"

"I feel like a horse kicked me." Alex joked then grimaced a little. "Moving hurts, talking hurts, everything hurts."

Cal grimaced. "I can imagine. The doctor says you'll be laid up a few days at least." He said. "Meanwhile, you'll never guess what happened." He told Alex about seeing Lori run into the prince.

"Interesting." Alex frowned. "That means they'll move." he sighed. "If they move before I'm up and moving you go after them without me."

Cal wasn't thrilled about that idea, and he didn't bother to hide it. "I don't want to leave you here alone..." He said. When it came down to it, he'd choose his brother over a job any day.

"I'll be fine. I'm a big boy." Alex smirked. "Lets wait and see what they do though."
|
Cal sighed, knowing it was pointless to argue. "Alright." He agreed, hoping the two princesses decided to stick around a little while longer. "In the meantime, I want you resting. No getting up, unless someone's here to help you. If you need something, ask for it. Until the doctor clears you for regular activity, you're stuck in bed."

"Yes mother." Alex snorted then flinched. "Damn it." he sighed. "To get some sleep brother it's late."
Lori woke with a start. After a few tries at going back to sleep she decided to get up and pack. They would need to leave before those boys could follow them. |
Cal sighed, accepting that was all he could do for the moment, and nodded. "Alright. You sleep, too. Goodnight, brother." He ruffled Alex's hair and headed off back to the inn.
For once, Rosemary was fast asleep, and it didn't look like she was getting up any time soon. At least, not on her own. |
Lori finished packing grabbed them both breakfast placing the tray near Rose she began to poke her face. She had women her sister up that way when they where little and she still did it on occasion when she really needed to wake her up.

Rosemary grumbled and swatted her sister's hand away. "Five more minutes, nanny..." She mumbled, clearly mistaking Lori for the nanny that used to care for her as a child. When the poking didn't stop, she opened her eyes and looked grumpily at the other. "Alright, I'm up. Stop poking me." She said, sitting up. "I hate when you do that."

"It works. Come on eat the soon we go the more likely it is that we'll avoid the older brother." Lori started to eat sitting on her side of the bed.

"Meh." Rosemary replied, and started eating. She finished up quickly and went to get dressed, now fully awake and starting to realize their time limit. "I feel bad that Aurora won't know where we've gone."

"I know a way to get a message to her without anyone knowing." Lori shrugged. "Lets head out." she grabbed her saddle bag. "I really hope we can do this with out help." she grumbled heading for the horses.

"Hmm." Rosemary made a sound of agreement, not feeling very talkative all of a sudden. She had an uneasy feeling, but she didn't want to mention it. She didn't want to upset her sister.
Cal was up early that morning, having expected the princesses to make their move. Of course he was right. Sighing, he followed the girls silently, already planning on how to send his brother a message later. |
