"It will be ni...WHAT THE HELL!?" Lori's mouth dropped open when she saw the boys.

"There you two. OFH!" Adam had just gotten of his horse when Lori kicked him as hard as she could. "the hell?" he fell forward moaning.

Cal jumped down to check on his brother. "Alex! Crap, what the hell woman?!" He looked up at Lori angrily.

Rosemary stood, shocked. "You...what are you doing here?" She asked, taking her sister's hand to prevent any more injuries.

"She had good reflexes." Alex groaned flinching.

"Get the hell away from us!" Lori growled aiming for him with her foot.

Rosemary pulled her sister back. "Wait. They can't answer questions if you beat them senseless." She said, then turned to the boys. "What are you doing here?" She asked again.

Cal glared up at them. "We came to warn you." He said coldly. "The royal guard is right on your tail. That Elliot guy is relentless. We had to do a good bit of dodging and night riding to get here ahead of him, and we still only beat them by a few hours at most. They'll be here any time now."

Lori paled even if the believed them..."we have to hurry." she pulled her sister towards there horses. "Even if there lying we need to get away from them."

"Oh sure don't thank us." Alex grumbled as he stood flinching. "She's got one heck of a kick."

Rosemary stumbled after Lori, glancing back at the boys. Why did things have to be that way? It just wasn't fair.

Cal helped him up. "Not as bad as the horse, I hope." He said. "How...do we talk to them...if they keep running every time we see them?" He asked quietly.

"No idea. I've never been in love before." Alex sighed and with a deep breath went after them. "We want to help you." he stepped in front of Lori.

"We don't need your kind of help." Lori snarled glaring.

Rosemary turned to look at Alex, her eyes showing gratitude. "Why now, all of a sudden, do you want to help us?" She asked, trying to be more reasonable than her sister.

"Because I-" Cal started, then stopped. "Because we..." He paused again. He looked at his brother for help. "It doesn't matter why, we just do." He settled on that lame excuse.

"Plus we want to start anew just like you two." Alex smiled at Gemini flinching when Lori got in between them.

"I don't believe you " Lori glared. "We need to get over that border." she turned to the horses.

"What about the guard's watching the border?" Alex asked smirking when Lori froze. "Didn't think of that did you?"

"Fine but you even think of doing something stupid I will leave you both horseless in a country you know." Lori threatened and then scowled more. "What do we do?"

"No idea." Alex laughed.

Rosemary rolled her eyes. "That's not the best way to win my sister's approval." She whispered to Alex.

"This is where I come in." Cal said. "First of all, your disguises could use a little upgrading. The wigs are good, but your eyes and skin tone are too obvious. I can make you look completely different." Of course there was more to the plan, but he would get to that part later.

"Alright." Lori narrowed her eyes."Lets get started. What do you need?"

Alex shrugged. "I didn't say there was no plan just that I didn't know."

"Not much." Cal said. "My brother and I already have most of what we need. The only thing we need from you is cooperation."

Rosemary blinked. "You knew he had a plan." She said. She smirked. "You're strange, you know that?"

"I hadn't know that but thank you for telling me." Alex grinned at her.

"Fine do me first and my sister is going to watch you closely." Lori glared at him.

Cal smiled and nodded. "I'm fine with that. Here, take a seat and make yourself comfortable. I'll need you to hold still." He said.

Rosemary snapped to attention, watching the older man carefully. She didn't like seeing him so close to her sister's face.

Lori held still and glared at Cal her hands where balled into fists in her lap.

Alex relaxed against a tree watching the work.

Cal took some pots and brushes out of his bag. He opened up one of the pots, dipped a brush in, and started painting over Lori's face. He kept the strokes light, and after a moment became completely absorbed in his work. His concentration was complete and intense, and he bit his lip while he worked.

Rosemary watched carefully, but couldn't see anything wrong with what Cal was doing. She was fascinated by how focused he was. So focused, in fact, that she could see the moment when he stopped putting on an act and let his true self shine through. "Your brother should quit being a con man and take up art. He's got a gift for it." She said to Alex.

Lori noticed the change as well. Her heart skipped a best when he drew closer, she gave herself a mental shake and a slap focusing elsewhere.

"He's good at what he does but he doesn't see it." Alex sighed. "Lord knows he doesn't listen to me."

Cal finished with the brush, then took a small vial out. "Tilt your head back and don't blink." He instructed.

"Sounds like my sister." Rosemary said. "She never sees the best parts of herself, and she thinks I'm lying when I point them out."

Alex laughed and nodded. "then you understand."

Lori blinked but did as she was told scowling softly.

Very gently, Cal held Lori's head still and dropped a single drop of liquid into each of her eyes. "Alright, now just blink a few times and you're done." He said.

Rosemary nodded. "Yup, I understand all too well." She said.

Lori blinked a few times and turned to her sister. "What do you think?"

Alex grinned. "Great job as always brother."

Rosemary blinked, surprised. What she saw was her sister, but not her sister. Lori's skin was now a smooth caramel color, her eyes golden brown, which complimented her wig beautifully. "You look amazing! No one will ever recognize you."

Cal shrugged. "It's all temporary. It will wash off in a week or so- but you only need it long enough to get past the border." He explained.

Lori took the mirror out of her bag and gasped. "Its amazing." she admitted. "Why don't you do stuff like this for a living?" she moved so her sister could take her turn.

Alex smirked a little. "I keep wondering the same thing."
