"No. My whole life is in shambles." Lori sobbed. "Clarks gone, my sisters dead and my parents hate me. Nothing is ever going to be ok." she raced off towards the apartment in tears.

"Lori, wait!" Gemini swore and ran after her. She had to calm her down before the whole city ended up on fire.

Lori kept running not sure where she was going. Just knowing she had to get away, she had to escapee before she was crushed by the weight of her sadness. She stumbled onto a scene with the Joker being shot at by police men. She blinked forgetting her hurt by the fact that there was a giant teddy bear menacing the police.

Gemini skidded to a stop behind Lori, blinking at the scene before her. "Teddy bear...?" She said, just as confused as her friend. "I don't...teddy bear?" There was only one loon she could think of who would come up with that. "Does he ever go even one day without causing some kind of ridiculous chaos?"

Lori growled and the bear exploded. She stalked forward and she slammed Joker into a wall "You! If you hadn't gotten to her."

"What are you...oh still hung up on Harley? She dead dear time you." Joker choked when Lori elbowed him hard in the throat. "Oh you have a temper." he wheezed. "I'll kill you." Lori growled. "I don't think you will." Joker smirked then choked again when Lori began to strangle him. "You want to bet? You forget I'm not Batman." she slammed him into the wall hearing a wonderful cracking sound. "No one will save you."

As if on cue, Batman appeared, swinging through and picking Lori up as he went. He landed on a nearby ledge, still holding her. "I'm going to have to stop you there." He looked at her sternly. "I let the last one go because of the circumstances, and the fact that no one else saw. This is going too far. I don't want to have to arrest you. You've already jeopardized your chances of getting into the Justice League."


Gemini ran forward. "Lori! Lori, stop! Not in front of the police!" She yelled, flinching at the cracking sound. "Dammit, Lori!!" Then Batman was there, taking Lori away. Gemini swore loudly and sighed, unable to do much else.

Lori's first thought was to punch him. So she did right in the stomach "Your such a hypocrite! It's all your fault that this city is this! I'm so tired of your higher then though attitude!" she had realized been yelling till her voice echoed in the darkness.

Joker slumped to the ground with a groan. "I think she broke my back." he chuckled.

"You think I don't know that?!" Batman shouted, then brought his volume down, making his voice calm again. "I am no better than anyone else. I know that. All I can ever do is try to make up for it. But killing people doesn't solve your problems, Lori. It just makes you a murderer, no better than the ones you've killed. I can't...no, I won't let that happen to you. Do you really want to go down the same path your sister took? I won't let you."

Gemini turned to glare at him. "If you have any sort of sense, you'll disappear for a while. Batman won't be able to keep Lori from killing you, not as long as she's set on it. The only reason I haven't shot you yet is because there are police everywhere. Go, now, before I change my mind."

"I would but I kind of cant move." Joker smirked glancing at the police. "Looks like I'm caught this time."

Lori hadn't even realized she was going to slap him until she heard the sound echo around them. "Don't you dare talk about her like that." she snarled.

He took the slap without complaint, barely seeming to feel it at all. "Like what, Lori? You mean the truth? I know it's difficult to accept but that is what happened. Harley went down a bad path, started killing people, fell in with the wrong crowd. And it got her killed. I'm sorry if you don't want to hear it but I think you have to."

Gemini growled. She didn't want Lori to get into trouble, and as she stared down at the man in front of her, she felt angry. Not angry at him, though she should have been. Angry at herself for what she was about to do. Making a small fireball in her hand, she threw it, igniting the debris around her so that the police couldn't pass. Then she picked Joker up and started dragging him away. "Don't get used to this, got it? I'm only helping you to keep Lori safe." She growled.

Lori's gaze when red. "YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER!" she shoved him hard. "What would you know about siblings!? Or your parents hating you!? We didn't chose anything. I was bad as well as her, she just enjoys it more then I did. Plus I would still be evil if I hadn't fallen for Clark. If I was still bad I could just kill that bastard."

"Yeah yeah." Joker grumbled. "I don't like this either. Turn left."

Batman continued to stay calm. He barely budged when he was pushed. "I know more about her than you think. Did you know she tried to get away a few times? She came to me, asked for help. Tried to reform." He said. "Even if you were evil, I wouldn't allow you to kill him. You need to calm down."

Gemini was tempted to turn right, just to piss him off, but decided against it. She wanted to get out of there and get rid of him as quickly as possible, so she followed his directions. "Jeez, you're heavy...never would've guessed just looking at you. You got a lead foot or something?"

"Nope but I do have a few lead toys." Joker smirked a little. "Left and then right. Straight for a few blocks then you can just leave me."

"Don't tell me to calm down!" Lori snapped. "I hate this. I miss her so much and this is all my fault. I should have dragged her away when I had the chance." she sunk to the ground sobbing.

Batman knelt down, keeping Lori from falling- they were still on a rooftop, after all. "This isn't your fault, Lori. We all feel like we could have done something different, something to help, something to change how things went. But the truth is there's nothing we could have done. Believe me, I know how you feel. The guilt, the pain...it never fully goes away. All you can do is learn to live with it."

Gemini grunted, not finding him funny. She couldn't wait to drop him- literally. She reached her destination and did just that. "Well, there you go. Bye now." She turned around and started to walk away.

Joker whistled and his hyenas appeared and sniffed him. "There are my boys." he smiled and sighed. "Looks like I need you two to drag me inside so Harley can...oh right." he grimaced. ''She's not there. Guess I'll have to handle it myself."

"This is the worst week of my life." Lori groaned. "First my sister and then my parents. Know I find out Clark doesn't like me anymore. He was the only keeping me on the side of good. Until I meet Wonder Woman of course." she was going to have fun telling Diana about Clark she would strangle him.

Gemini was almost gone, but still just close enough to hear him. She froze and sighed. "Do you. Need. Help?" She asked slowly, hating herself more with each word.

Batman pulled back slightly to look at her. "Clark? What happened with him?" He asked. Last he knew, the couple had been very happy together.

"No." Joker struggled to his feet hissing threw his teeth. The hyenas circled him clearly nervous as they followed him. He walked towards his warehouse ever step agony.

"He's dating Louis. I caught them kissing." Lori chuckled. "Figures doesn't it? How could love me like that? I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up."

Gemini raised an eyebrow. "Stubborn ass. You'll collapse before you ever get there- even the hyenas know it."

"Lois? That damned fool..." Batman sighed. Leave it to Clark to give up the best thing that had ever happened to him. "What are you talking about? Why wouldn't he be able to love you?" He asked. "Besides the fact that he's too stupid to recognize a good thing when he has it."

"I told you I don't know help." Joker snarled. He slipped and groaned the heyenas whined clearly worried. "I'm fine." he insisted.

"Because I'm no good. Everyone can tell that I didn't deserve to be happy." Lori sniffled. "The universe was just correcting itself."

"How sad, now you're even lying to yourself." Gemini moved forward and pulled his arm over her shoulder. "Don't argue. I'm helping you whether you want it or not."

Batman shook his head. "I don't think that's true. I think you deserve to be happy." He said honestly. "You're good, Lori. Better than most. The only mistake to universe made was letting you fall for a man who didn't deserve you."

"I thought...I thought he understood me. He was the first person to not call me a freak or ever think I was dangerous." Lori sighed and ran a hand threw her hair. "This is a terrible week."

"Don't help me." Joker snarled and shoved her away stumbling a little. He shoved the door open and limped inside the warehouse. One whole floor was all Harley with a bunch of gymnast stuff and a whole wall of hammers and bats.

"I'm sorry, Lori. I really am. I wish there was some way I could help." Batman told her. "I know it doesn't make any difference, but...I don't think you're a freak."

Gemini stubbornly held on, not letting him knock her away. "You're really not in a position to fight me right now." She said. Her breath hitched slightly as she recognized Harley's influence all over the place, and her face turned grim. "...I owe you an apology." She muttered, almost too quiet to hear.

Lori chuckled. "That's a nice sentiment Bruce but you hardly know me." she stood and hugged him gentle. "Thank you though."

"apologize for what?" Joker asked avoiding looking at the stuff as he limped for the stairs.

Slightly uncomfortable from his lack of hugging experience, Bruce hugged her back awkwardly. "No, I suppose I don't know you all that well. But I've seen enough to know you have a good heart."

"When I fought you before, I accused you of lying about...well, I found out you actually weren't lying. Made me feel like an ass. So. Sorry...for being an ass when you were actually telling the truth."

"If you say so." Lori pulled away. "You still should have let me kill him." she grumbled a little and stood. "I don't mind not being in the league. Diana would still be my friend either way." she shrugged.

"Yes well most people think I killed her. Truth is I hadn't seen her in months." Joker shrugged. "I'm not sad to see her gone she was a pain." the untouched stuff said he was lying.
