Bruce shrugged. "Too late now." He said. "Would you like me to escort you home?"

Gemini looked around pointedly. "You cared about her." She said.

"No I think I'll be fine." Lori didn't mention that she was staying at Harleys. He didn't need to know after all it was her own buisness.

"No I didn't." Joker glared at her. "Just go. I'll be fine." he glanced at a picture of him and Harley. She looked happy while he was scowling. He quickly looked away and wondered towards his makeshift hospital.

Batman nodded. "Very well. Go ahead home, and stay safe, alright?" He said.

Gemini bit her lip, hesitating. "I cared about her, too, you know." She said, then did as she was asked and left.

"I'm always safe." Lori smirked then jumped from the building landing on the fire escape. She waved up at him and wondered off heading for crime alley.

Joker took a breath and flopped onto the metal table he used to torture people. He glanced at the other side of the room growling. He stood and started ripping things from the wall and tossing anything that would fit into his furnace.

Batman raised a hand to wave back, and watched her until she was lost from his sight. After that, he headed off to continue his patrol.

Gemini wandered for a while, needing the time to grieve and think things through.

Lori crashed onto Harleys old bed staring at the ceiling mulling over what she had done. She should have felt guilt for killing him. She could have just orphaned someone but she realized she didn't give a shit. She had gotten revenge for her sister and that was all that mattered. She began to drift off when a noise caught her attention. She frowned and looked to the window heart jumping when she thought she saw Harley vanish from the window.

Gemini headed back home after a while. She walked in the door and looked around for Lori, finding her in Harley's bed. "Lori? Are you alright? You look like you just saw a ghost."

"Maybe I did." Lori bite her lip. "Or maybe I'm going crazy." she shook her head. "It must have just been seeing things."

Gemini came over and sat down next to her, looking confused. "What did you see?" She asked. "I mean, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to."

"i though i saw Harley." Lori mumbled. "But we just buried her. Didn't we?" she looked up at Gemini looking lost and confused. "Maybe being crazy is a family thing."

Gemini blinked, then shook her head and hugged her friend. "You're not crazy, Lori. You're grieving. It's normal to see, or think you see, a loved one after they've died. I remember when-" She stopped, her expression going cold for a moment. "The point is, this is normal."

"I hope so." Lori hugged her back tightly. "I don't need to be any crazier then I am." she pouted a little. "And to top things. I'm still thinking about Bruce!" she flopped backwards. "I'm going to lay here for the rest of my life."

"You're thinking about Bruce?" Gemini asked, leaning forward. "Wow, you've got a lot on your plate. Um...okay, how about I distract you with a problem of my own?" She asked.

"Can't be any worse then mine right?" Lori sat up. "What seems to be the problem?" she asked frowning at her.

Gemini grimaced. "Oh, I think it can be worse." She said. "I think I'm falling for someone. The problem is, this is someone who I should hate. And I do hate him. Or...I did. And to top it off, he's a friend's old boyfriend. That breaks every rule of being a girl ever. I hate him. I'm starting to hate him less. This is dangerous and I don't know what to do."

"Lets get ice cream and eat are feelings into behavior." Lori suggested with a smirk. "All I can say is that if you truely like him that much. As the girl if she minds you talking to him. No guy can be as bad as Joker."

Gemini went pale. "No, I...I can't ask her. She..." She stared shaking. "There's something wrong with me. Something horribly, horribly wrong." Tears sprung to her eyes. "He did something to me, he must have. That's the only explanation. Lori, it...it's him. Joker. I...you need to hit me now. Hard."

Lori stared at Gemini for a second then punched her square in the face as hard as she could. "WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!?" she screeched. "JOKER!? OF ALL PEOPLE!"

Gemini fell back off the bed and hit the floor hard. Holding her nose, which was now bleeding freely, she looked up at Lori. The blood was mixing with tears as she nodded. "I'm sorry. I don't know how...I don't know."

"OK, OK we can fix this. I'll just find a guy that's willing to go out with you and that will fix things...right?" Lori swallowed and stared at her. "Maybe he drugged you...that's not likely." she grimaced and hugged her. "Oh hun I wish I had the answer."

Gemini tried to sniffle, but it hurt too much. "Well we have to do something! This is wrong, I can't...I can't feel that way. Not about him. How did I let this happen?" She sobbed into Lori's shoulder.

"I don't know...you can have Bruce if you want. That would solve all the problems." Lori nodded then sighed. "If only that would work. We could try hypnotising you."

"Yeah, maybe hypnotism will work. Maybe I just need a regular boyfriend. I could just be lonely, and I'm vulnerable after Harley...that must be it. It's not real." Gemini spoke quickly, sounding desperate to deny her feelings. She sighed. "He cared about her, you know. In a weird, twisted way. I think he loved her." She whispered.

"THAT BASTARD DIDN'T LOVE HER!" Lori yelled so loud the neighbor's probably heard her. "If he hadn't let her stick around and let her think he loved her this would never have happened!" she was still yelling tears rushing down her cheeks. "He took her innocent need for love and twisted it." She took a breath. "God if I had just loved her more." she grumbled onto the bed losing her steam as she sniffled.

Still bleeding, Gemini decided not to go near the bed. "You couldn't have loved her more if you tried. There was nothing anyone could have done. But he did love her. I saw..." She hesitated, unsure whether to tell Lori what she had seen earlier.
