Lori smirked and shook her head. "Where would you like me to start?" she teased nudging her gentle. "Look...I'm going to hate saying this but I think Joker might think something of you. He actually left when you told him too. He never does that."

Gemini shook her head. "No, there's no way. He just didn't want to get fried." It was obvious she didn't fully believe her own words. "Even if you're right, I'm not...he won't ever feel like that. Not for me. He already-" She stopped, not wanting to bring up Harley. "It'll never happen."

"Yeah." Lori smiled then gasped stepping on the brake as something crashed into the ground. "The hell?" They had barely made it into Metropolis and already something was trying to kill them. She got out and whistled "that's one hell of a hole." she jumped back as a figure stirred from it. "Zod." she stared at him with fear.

Gemini grabbed Lori's arm tightly, terrified. "What do we do?" She asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Neither of them were fully part of the Justice League yet- not that they had to be to fight a villain- but she wasn't sure the two of them could handle this particular villain.

Lori lifted her gaze up. "Here come Superman." she glanced back at Zod who was wiping his mouth off smirking at them. "We either fight or he'll just kill us." Lori took a breath and light up with flames. Zod laughed and grabbed her throat easily cutting her air off. "Pathetic humans." he smirked.

Gemini's eyes went wide, and suddenly a bright light exploded, lighting up the night for a split second like lightening. When it passed, another figure was standing where Gemini had been. The figure moved, flickering out of sight it was going so quickly, and attacked Zod with a flurry of strikes from a molten hot katana. It all happened in less than three seconds.

Zod dropped Lori who was choking and gasping for air. Zod was trying to fight off his enemy "Hold still!" he snarled sparing a moment to glance at Superman who was helping Lori to her feet. "You will pay." he flew off planning to come back.

The figure that had been Gemini landed lightly on its feet as soon as Zod was gone. Now that she was holding still, she was easier to inspect. She was tall- at least, taller than Gemini was- and dressed entirely in white. A short white kimono with long sleeves showed off a good amount of leg before being covered again by long dark purple socks and traditional Japanese style sandals. Her long hair was snow white and flowed around her, and her face was covered by a kitsune mask. She sheathed her katana at her side and turned to help Lori. "Are you alright?" Her voice was different as well, more ethereal and mature sounding.

"What the?" Lori stared at her in surprise. "I'm ok...what happened to you?"

The figure chuckled slightly. "This is my...alternate form. Vixen. I transform to unleash my full powers, since they're restricted in my normal form. I'm still me, it's just...it's kind of like those anime with the magical girls, except my transformation doesn't last three hours? It's hard to explain."

Lori sighed. "seems like I'm the weakest link." she chuckled dryly. "thanks." she smiled and glanced at Clark. "You ok?" he asked sheepishly. "I'm fine." Lori shrugged.

"No, you're not. This form comes with it's limitations, so it's not always efficient." Kitsune said. "Oh, you're welcome." She looked at Clark- somehow he could tell even though she was wearing a mask- sharply. "Lori and I will be going now. She's waiting on an important phone call."

"I am?" Lori blinked noticing the frown on Clark's face. "Alright. Be careful you two." he flew off leaving them in the dust. "What phone call am I waiting for?" Lori raised her eyebrow then noticed her car. "Oh my car!" It was covered in dust and dents along with cracks in the windshield. "Well it's not that bad." she sighed. "It can be fixed."

Kitsune chuckled, and in another quick flash of light, she was Gemini again. "I only said that to make him jealous. Although, you never know. Bruce might call you." She teased. "Ooh. Yeah, that's easily fixed. I can get the dust off right now." She said, gesturing with one hand. As she did, the dust and dirt lifted off the car and moved into a heap on the ground. "There. Sorry I can't do much about the dents."

Lori shrugged. "I'll get it fixed later." she lead the way to the car and got in. "Looks like we have to go the long." she stared at the hole. "Why can't he have normal bad guys?"

Gemini shrugged. "Is there really such a thing as normal bad guys?" She asked dryly. "Let's just get out of here before he comes back."

"Catwoman is normal. Penguin is sort of normal." Lori shrugged. "There not super powered. Crazy yes but no super powered." she drove to her apartment and lead the way inside. "Just seems that the powerful heros attract powerful and power hungry villains."

Gemini shrugged. "I guess that's just the way it is." She said. "Not much we can do about it at this point."

Lori nodded and glanced at the phone half expecting to ring or to see Batman waiting outside on her fire escape. She sighed and went to let Athena in for the night.

Almost as if she'd summoned him, Batman was standing out on the fire escape when she went to let the cat out. He took half a step forward, but stopped, as there wasn't much room.

Lori jumped and cursed glaring at him. "Jeez give a girl a heart attack. I'm surprised Athena didn't attack you." she moved so the cat could get in. "Do you want to come in?" she asked glancing at Gemini.

Gemini smiled. "I'm gonna turn in for the night. See you in the morning!" She said, faking a yawn and heading off to bed.
"Sorry." Batman said, looking awkward. He watched Gemini walk out, and came inside. "What was that about? She confuses me." |
"She wanted to give us alone time." Lori laughed and feed Athena. "Athena this is Bruce aka Batman. Bruce this is Athena a alley cat that decided I should feed her." she smirked at glanced at him blushing as she noticed his muscles.

Once he was inside, Bruce pulled off his cowl so he could talk to Lori properly. "It's nice to meet you, Athena." He said to the cat, though he kept his distance just in case. Cats sometimes hated him. "I wanted to talk to you." He said to Lori.

"Oh? About what?" Lori blinked as she sat down smiling when Athena climbed into her lap making her feel like a villain.
