Upon arriving at the apartment, Batman placed Cress gently on her bed. He was relieved to see her eyes open. "Thank God you're alright." He said, his voice barely a whisper.

"Define alright." Lori moaned. "Is Gemini home yet?" she asked going to move. "Oh God my head."

Bruce shook his head. "No, I haven't seen her." He helped her sit up. "Do you need an ice pack? Medicine?" He asked with concern.

"Bruce...your going to think I'm crazy but I swear on the One ring that I saw Harley. She was right there before I hit that wall and was knocked out." Lori slipped off her mask and stared up at the ceiling.

Bruce sighed. "I don't think you're crazy, Lori. I do think that someone is trying to trick you, though." He paused. "I could be wrong, of course. I've been wrong before. But...until I see proof for myself, I'm going to stick to the 'someone tricking you' idea."

Lori didn't want to believe that someone was tricking her, she wanted her sister to be alive. She didn't realize she had started to cry till a drop hit her mouth. She brushed at them with a shaking hand 'I'm such an idiot." she hiccuped pulling Athena into her arms the cat gave a huff but stayed in her arms licking her tears.

"You're not an idiot." Bruce said, sitting down next to her. "You're human, and you've lost someone very important. It's only natural you'd want her to be alive." He added, in a tone that spoke from experience.

Lori released her cat and crushed him into a hug. "I miss her so much." she sobbed curling against him.

This time he didn't hesitate to hug her back. "I know, Lori. I know you do." He whispered, gently rocking her back and forth.

((Gonna wait a bit before Gemini ruins the moment XD))

Lori hiccuped softly after crying her eyes out. She stayed tucked against Bruce one hand in his the other stroking Athena's head.

Bruce happily would have stayed that way the whole night, however it was inevitable that Gemini would eventually return. And return she did- an ordeal that had him straining not to roll his eyes in frustration.

Kitsune's first action upon returning home was to transform back into her regular self. Next on the list was to check in on Lori. Of course, this yielded a slight surprise that she hadn't been prepared for. She walked into Lori's room and froze. "O-oh...oh my. Uh...I'm sorry! Didn't mean to interrupt! I'll just go! To bed! S-sorry!"

Athena glared at Gemini and sprung away to find food. "It's alright." Lori assured her straightening out. "Bruce should probably be getting home anyway." she kissed his cheek. "Thank you for today." she smiled at him. "And for putting up with me."

Blushing slightly, Bruce stood up and pulled his mask back on. "It was nothing, really." He said. "If you ever need any help, you know how to reach me." He added before disappearing.

Gemini waited a moment after he disappeared before speaking. "What happened? Are you okay? And why does that cat hate me so much?" She asked rapidly.

"Athena doesn't like strangers." Lori shrugged then blushed softly. "It was crazy." She told her what happened and then frowned. "I saw her Gemini. She was right there. I SAW HER!" she glared at the ceiling. "I'm going to find her and I'm going to bring her back."

Unlike Bruce, Gemini jumped on board immediately. "I believe you. And I'll help you." She said. "If there's even a chance she's still alive, I can't just ignore it. She was like a sister to me...oh God." Her face went pale. "Oh God, Lori she's going to hate me. She's gonna be so mad at me. How do I ever explain...?"

"Explain what? She joined the Suicide Squad against her will. If its anyones fault its mine. I failed her as a sister. I should have been there for her, I should have been a better role model. There are so many things I should have done." Lori's wiped away the tears that had gathered on her cheeks.

"You did so much for her already, though. I know because she talked about you all the time. But me...Lori, I went and fell in love with her man. What kind of friend does that? It's like...one of the worst things a girl can do to another girl."

"Her man?" Lori snorted. "He's not my man." A voice came from the window. Lori whipped her head to the window breath catching when her eyes landed on Harley who was lounging on the sill a smirk on her face. "Harl's?" Lori breathed slipping out of bed she reached out and touched. "Either I'm on drugs." "Your not." Harley laughed then gasped as Lori crushed her into a hug. "Your alive!" "Not for much longer." Harley choked out.

Gemini jumped up, looking like she'd just seen a ghost. "Ohmygod!" She pulled Lori's arms apart so that she wasn't crushing her sister. "Oh my God. How? You...how?" She looked close to tears, and was just holding back from hugging her as tightly as Lori was. "Is it really you?"

"Yeah its me." Harely smiled and sighed. "I had to do it. I couldn't be with him anymore and while I feel bad it was all I could think of." she glanced up at them. "I had to get away from him."

"What do you mean? Slow down, start from the beginning." Gemini said, pulling Harley inside to sit on the bed. "What happened. I want the whole story."

"I was on a mission with the Squad and I had been abused by Joker once again. I couldn't take it anymore so when the criminal provided to be difficult I made a decision to act like he killed me." Harley was combing her finger threw Lori's hair. 'I knew I had to make it believable or Joker wouldn't believe it."

Gemini ran a hand through her hair. "Wow. Um...well, it was believable alright." She said, recounting the events of the past few days, including the disastrous funeral, Lori killing the man who had "killed" Harley, and both their man troubles. "And I really hate to say this but I think, in his own ridiculous way, he actually did love you." She finished. "I'm so sorry, Harley. I have no idea how I managed to fall for him. I know how he is and I know how he treated you, but I..." She trailed off.

Harley scowled at Gemini. "It's your funeral but I'll warn you know that he is not at all what you want. I didn't see even when everyone was saying it but now...now I see just how cruel and terrible he is."

Gemini nodded. "I know. I know. I'm one of the people who encouraged you to leave him." She sighed. "Maybe it's just a phase. Maybe I just have to find out firsthand. I've always been the type who had to learn the hard way. Not that it matters." She smiled sadly. "He has no interest in me even as a plaything. It's better that way. I'll find someone else eventually, and until then, I can have fun watching Lori date Bruce."
