The bartender and other passerbys looked at the scene in surprise. "H-how did you do that?!" One let out trying to take in what just happened fully. Only the religious figure of the town could do something like that.
"We're Alchemists." Yang smirked. |
"Alchemists?" one of the patrons in the bar asked, having not heard the term before.

Yang smirked, "Yep. I'm Taiyang Elric and this is my younger brother Ren." She said before taking a long drink of water.

"You're...you're the Elric Brothers?!" the bartender exclaimed, surprised. He honestly thought they would both be older...
|
Yang nodded, "We are... Looks like I owe you five Ren. Words gotten out farther then I thought." She laughed

"I'll just add it to your tab brother," Ren replied with a light chuckle. He'd let Taiyang ask the questions about the rumored Father that potentially had a Philosopher Stone. That was the reason they were there after all...

"Hey, I wanted to get some information if possible? We are looking for something called the Philosopher Stone, Was curious if you've heard anything about it?" Yang asked, leaning on the bar a bit. She didn't forget, neither would she forget the reason they came. Ren may look human, but he was mostly metal. She was lucky that his heart and brain didn't get destroyed during the failed transmutation. To bring him back to life costed her a leg, and she was lucky that the transmutation of that went well enough. Ruby did a great job making Ren look much better. It was Yang's fault this all happened and she was going to get them back to normal whatever the cost. She didn't care if her arm and leg were auto-mail, Her brother mattered. She feared that he was only on borrowed time with him as a mesh between metal and man.

"The only thing I can think of is Father Peter Cornello, up at the church. He might be able to help you," the bartender responded. Usually some sort of money had to be given first, but since they had just fixed his radio, he considered it payment enough. "I'm sure Rose here can lead the way if you want," he said before gesturing to the girl in question.

"Thank you very much." Yang smiled before turning to the girl. "You don't have to take us if you do not want." She said, not wanting to feel like she was pressuring Rose into doing this. She took a glance at Rose, noticing she seemed a little out of place compared to everyone else. At least in looks.

"It's not a problem...Taiyang, right?" Rose asked, wanting to make sure she got the name correct.

"Correct. He called you Rose?" Yang did the same, wanting to make sure she wasn't mistaken.

Rose nodded and said that she was correct. Though seeing the alchemy that his brother used...she wondered if they could help bring her beloved back from the dead. Father Cornello said it was possible and what the black-haired boy did was similar to what the Father did when performing one of his miracles...but all he had to do was wave his hand over something to fix/create it...

"What can you tell me about this place? It's so clean, considering all the sand you don't see piling up." Yang tried to lighten the situation, noticing that Rose was sort of mopey.

"Father Cornello had walls come out of the ground soon after he made a name for himself here. He'll sometime make rounds around them to make sure there isn't any damage done to them," she responded.

"Walls huh? Almost sounds like Alchemy." Yang commented giving Ren a quick glance before turning back to Rose. "What can you tell me about Father Cornello?"

Rose told her everything that she could about Father Peter Cornello and how because of him that this town was flourishing as well as it was.

"it really does sound like Alchemy." Yang stated again. "I don't mean to offend, Please do not take it as such but are you positive it isn't Alchemy? I'm just trying to piece together how this is all working."

"I don't think it's Alchemy...he doesn't plan any of it in advance and he doesn't have to create any circles in order to do what he does either like what your brother did a few minutes ago" Rose responded. But she was starting to have doubts. Could it be that Peter was only using alchemy? Or was it something else?

"Wait, He doesn't create circles?" This had to be Alchemy, but if what she's saying it true this would be without equivalent exchange. She didn't want to say it, but this could be the Philosopher Stone.

"How odd..." Ren commented. This definitely sounded like a Philosopher Stone...but the question was if it was real or not.
"He doesn't. He just waves his right hand and it's done" Rose admitted, giving examples of some of the stuff he had done for the town. |
"This is all impressive." Yang commented, "I'd love to pick his brain on how this all works."

"I can take you to meet him," Rose offered, the same offer that the bartender gave a few minutes ago.

"I would like that. This is nice to talk to someone other then Ren." Yang teased her brother with a smirk.

"I feel so loved," Ren deadpanned, knowing that Yang meant nothing by that.

"You know I love you. I wouldn't put up with you if I didn't." She smiled, "Just like you with me."
