"Hush," Winter replied, though she couldn't help but grin a bit. "That's not what I meant and you know it." She paused. "Besides, I would never get between you and the ears."

Peggy snorted quietly. "Yeah, yeah," she muttered. "I can now honestly say they're not the largest I've seen."

That got a snicker out of Winter.

"Don't tell him that," she said, grinning.

Peggy grinned. "I don't think he'd care that much. At least, not at the moment."

Winter just snickered.

A little while later, something else fuzzed against her senses.

“Someone else showing up?” she said, looking at Peggy to see if she sensed it too.

"Multiple someones ,feels like." Peggy frowned a bit. "I feel like investigating. Shall we?"

Sesshomaru strode up to his brother, taking a quick glance around. "What brought you here?" he asked quietly.

“We shall,” Winter agreed, following Peggy.

“Poking around,” Inuyasha replied. “Wanted to get a feel for those two newcomers before I went looking for ‘em.”

Peggy headed downstairs to go see what was going on.

"What are your conclusions so far?" Sesshomaru asked, curious. He took a slow deep breath in as well, sorting through the scents.

“I feel like something weird is going on,” Inuyasha replied. His ears flicked a bit as he spoke. “If the one can teleport, why haven’t they left? And if they know about demons, but not the illusion spells, where exactly are they from? It doesn’t add up.” He wrinkled his nose a bit. “And I’m betting that ozone stink is the teleporting, that’s the only thing that explains the broken trail I keep picking up with it.”

Sesshomaru nodded. "Agreed," he murmured. "Not to mention, why did they end up here?" Even if the teleporter didn't cause it intentionally, he refused to believe it was pure chance. Especially considering they broke through his barrier. "We do not yet have all the facts." He glanced at his brother and smirked faintly. "Care to help me find more?"

“I’ll talk to Kagome once the clans leave,” Inuyasha said. “I bet she’s gotten more out of them.” He smirked. “Easier to ask her than to try to talk to them with the kit treating them like new shiny things.” Because now that Shippo was home again, that would be exactly what happened.

Sesshomaru snorted quietly but didn't argue. He did, however, turn slightly to watch the other clans approaching.

Kagome let herself out to go say hi to the clans, and only smiled when Peggy trotted after her curiously.

Winter followed close behind, wanting to see what was going on too.

The clan representatives gathered in the front courtyard, by the god-tree. They all looked a bit uneasy, being on the shrine grounds, but they didn’t disperse yet.

Kagome walked over to greet them, smiling pleasantly. "Good afternoon. I hope it all went well?" She glanced around at the group.

They glanced amongst themselves before the tengu representative stepped forward.

“It went as well as can be expected,” he replied. He gave a small bow. “On behalf of the tengu clan, I would like to thank you for your forbearance in regards to our visit.”

Kagome smiled and returned the little bow. "Of course. I'm glad that there were no major incidents." Meaning no reason she had to interfere, and she preferred it that way. As long as everyone behaved, she was happy to not have to purify anyone.

One by one the other clans did the same. Winter watched with interest as they all said the same thing, as if it was a ritual. Then it was the dog clan’s turn.

Sesshomaru stepped forward, giving the miko a very faint smile. He'd known her for long enough, now. He said the words as well, and then added, "Your continued cooperation is appreciated, as always. As is your willingness to host guests." He glanced meaningfully at the two newcomers.

Kagome bowed in return and then smiled.

“I’m pleased that there were no incidents that required intervention,” she said. “And the guests have been no trouble at all.”

"Good." Sesshomaru stepped back and made sure the rest of the clans were still behaving. Not that he really doubted it, especially in front of Kagome. But he did have to see them off, although he didn't doubt Inuyasha would stick behind.

Inuyasha did stand behind, and so did someone else.

“Kagome!”

One of the foxes broke off from the clan group, scampering over with all five tails swishing behind him.

"Shippo!" Kagome smiled widely and opened her arms for the fox.

Peggy looked at Winter and grinned. This was fabulous.

Shippo swept her up in a hug.

“You shoulda been there,” he said, grinning. “Those two girls fell out of thin air right in the middle of the summit meeting, it was wild.”

Winter grinned as well. This was awesome.

"So I heard," Kagome said with a grin. "Have you had a chance to say hi yet?" She looked back at the two girls, already beckoning them forward.

Shippo grinned brightly and looked over, tails swishing again.

“Hey,” he greeted.
