“More or less,” Winter admitted. “That’s why we went towards Inuyasha and Sesshomaru when we fell into that meeting. They were the safest spot in the room.”
"How much do you know?" Kagome asked after a moment. "Is it still going? When did it stop?"
“The series is over, as far as I know,” Winter ventured. “I saw most of it but never got to the end, so I only know in general what happened. I don’t know if Peg did or not?” She glanced over at Peggy.
Peggy shrugged. "Never got to the end of it," she confirmed. "But I'd wager we saw most of it. Never found out what happened with Naraku, or the Jewel."
“I went online and read a synopsis of the ending,” Winter said. “But the fine details are beyond me.”
Kagome nodded. "Alright." She took a few moments to just kind of let things settle. "Well. No wonder Inuyasha was convinced you were hiding something."
“I mean, he wasn’t wrong?” Winter offered. “Not technically.”
Kagone nodded. "Right. Well." She blinked. "That's... a bit of a doozy."
“Yeah, kind of,” Winter said, nodding. “But yeah so that’s a thing, and now you know why we’re comfortable here.”
"Okay." Kagome nodded. "That's... Interesting. And I think I should be embarrassed."
Winter grinned.
“Let me tell you, when I was sixteen and watching this, sometimes the secondhand embarrassment was strong,” she teased. |
Kagome groaned and covered her face with her hands. "That was not a good age for me," she muttered around her hands.
“That was not a good age for anyone, you are not alone,” Winter replied, grinning a bit.
Kagone shook her head. "Ugh. Well, I guess if you guys have any questions..."
"I'm sure I can round some up," Winter said, "though none of them are tactful." She looked at Kagome. "Do you have questions for us?"
"Let me get used to this first," Kagome told her after a moment. "Then I'm sure I will." She shook her head. "For now it's just too big to think about properly."
Winter nodded.
"Yeah I get that," she said. |
Kagome shook her head a bit and started in on Winter's other hand, still mulling things over.
Winter lapsed into silence after that, just letting Kagome think about things.
"So did you put the wards up around the shrine, or were they already there?" she asked after a while, just to spark conversation again. |
"Hmm?" Kagome blinked, momentarily caught off guard. "Oh, they were there already. I refreshed a few spots, but mostly it was all intact." She grinned. "I had to make sure everyone could come and go freely."
“Interesting,” Winter said. She grinned. “I don’t have a whole lot by way of spirit power, so it’s kind of fun learning about what other people can do.”
"Mostly just the teleporting for you?" Kagome guessed. "There aren't as many of us now, but there are still people with spiritual powers around."
"Yeah, I mostly just teleport," Winter said, nodding. "Peg has power, though, it's pretty cool."
"Really?" Kagome asked, looking over at Peggy. |
Peggy grinned a bit. "At the last place, I discovered I've got a bit of an affinity for bows," she admitted. "Not unlike you, actually. The old lady had me practice every day, so I can actually hit stuff now. You should have seen my aim to start, I was awful."
"Just the bow as a weapon, or are you able to infuse it with purity?" Kagome asked. It had been a while since she'd come across anyone who could do both like she could.
