"I can infuse it with purity," Peggy admitted. "We were working on trying to make arrows out of energy too, in the event I ran out of arrows, but that was very hit or miss. Needless to say, my last teacher was a slave driver who believes in being prepared."
“I’m impressed,” Kagome said. “That’s a very advanced technique. I don’t know if a whole lot of people who managed it.” She grinned. “I’ve got a place you can practice, if you want to work on it.”
Peggy grinned. "Sure, I'd like that," she agreed. "Target practice all on its own would be good, too."
"We can definitely do that," Kagome said with a grin.
Peggy grinned at that. Yay target practice. "It says something about me that I'm looking forward to this now," she observed mildly.
Kagome laughed a bit.
"Yeah, that happened to me too," she admitted. "I hated it at first, but it grew on me and I ended up enjoying it." |
"Right? It's so weird." Peggy made a face. "Not that I'd give it up now, but still. Weird."
"I know the feeling," Kagome agreed, nodding. She paused, and glanced over just before Shippo bounced into the room, tails swishing as he plopped down with them.
Peggy blinked at him but just kind of rolled with it. "Hi again."
"I heard you three chatting up here," Shippo said with a grin, one of his tails flicking behind him. "Any good gossip?" Peggy snorted at that. |
"That depends, what did you hear?" Winter asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Something about archery, something about TV shows," Shippo answered vaguely. Honestly, he hadn't been listening in for that long. And not even intentionally. Mostly.
"Sounds about right," Winter said, relaxing again. At least he hadn't overheard what they were actually talking about. "Peggy has been training in archery, and can do the purifying arrows thing."
"Oh boy, another one." Shippo looked an odd mix between excited and mildly terrified.
"I'm not a very good shot yet, though," Peggy placated with a little grin. |
"I'm going to take her out to practice," Kagome said as she started painting Peggy's nails.
Shippo snickered. "You have to let me be there when Inuyasha finds out," he said, rubbing his hands together gleefully.
Kagome just rolled her eyes a bit at that.
Winter snickered a bit. "Yeah you're definitely a fox," she said, grinning. |
Shippo grinned. "What can I say? I still like playing tricks on him, sometimes," he said. "I've gotten better at that over the years."
"I'm sure you have," Winter said, grinning a bit. "With five tails, I'd be amazed if you hadn't."
Shippo puffed up a bit. "So you do know what the tails mean," he said, grinning.
"We know another fox," Peggy said after a moment with a little grin of her own. |
“Doesn’t he also have five tails?” Winter murmured to Peggy. “Fun coincidence.”
"He does, and it is," Peggy agreed with a bit of a grin. "That would be one hell of a team-up." She grinned.
“They’d probably get along really well,” Winter said with a grin. She paused. “Or hate each other.”
"One of the two, there would be no middle ground," Peggy agreed with a grin.
Winter grinned.
"Something to file away for when I have my landings down," she said. "For when we want to go back and forth." |
"Definitely." Peggy grinned.
Shippo was watching them both with bright eyes, grinning. Oh he did like these two, they were fun. |
