Summer watched the manta glide by.

"Maybe we should ask Moana about it," she said, a little distracted. "There's got to be something special going on, if we both feel the same thing."

"Yeah." Rose shook herself. "Yeah, we should. Come on, we have to go seal the world, anyway."

Summer nodded and followed Rose.

Moana and Maui were both waiting in the village for them.

"There you are," Moana said. "I was worried, you disappeared into the whirlpool, and even the ocean couldn't find you!"

Rose took a second to parse through that and then shrugged. "Yeah, well, we had to go beat up some heartless in Lalotai," she said casually. "Heartless are gone now, and the world is ready to be sealed."

Maui grinned. "Well, go on," he agreed, spreading out his arms. "Heart of the world, right?"

Summer paused for a second, looking at him, and then shook her head slightly with just the slightest grin. Yup, she'd had a feeling he was a bit self-centered.

"You're not the heart of the world," she said. She summoned her keyblade to her hand and let it sort of lead her around a bit. She stopped in front of Moana. "You should be. But something's not right, and I don't know what."

Moana blinked, startled. "I am?"

Rose had summoned her keyblades as well and was looking around with a slight frown. "There's another pull," she said, looking towards the water. "But I can't tell where it is."

"Another...?" Moana blinked. "Is that even possible?"

"Must be," Summer said, turning around slowly. She found herself facing the ocean, looking out over the reef. She could see the faint blue glow of the enormous manta ray glide by.

Rose's keyblade gave a little jerk in that direction, and she blinked. "Moana, what's the manta ray? The one we keep seeing?"

"The manta ray?" Moana took just a second to switch tracks. "That's my grandmother, but no one else has been able to see her."

"Your... grandmother?" Summer asked, blinking at Moana. She looked back towards the ocean, where the manta was now circling near the lagoon. "How...?"

Moana shrugged. "She hasn't left yet," she murmured.

"Okay, skipping the how for now," Rose said, frowning. "Better question is why?"

"That's an excellent question," Summer said. She looked at Rose. "Lagoon's not that big, I'm game to swim out to the reef if you are. I want some answers."

"Done." Rose headed for the water, and Moana followed after her, curious to see what was going on. It didn't take her long to cross the lagoon, and she cautiously settled on the reef, looking around for the ray again.

Summer kept pace with her as they crossed the lagoon, and she settled on the reef quickly, holding on with one hand as the waves tried to push her off. She summoned her keyblade in the other and held it out as the manta circled back around and came straight towards them. Just before the manta would have hit them, it vanished in a flash of blue light and an old woman sat on the reef with them, watching them with amusement in her eyes.

"Well that's new." Rose blinked a few times to make sure she wasn't seeing things. Yeah, nope, old woman was still there with no sign of the giant manta. Okay then. "I think I passed my limit of "what the actual hell" and have circled back around to blasé now. Who are you?"

The old woman smiled.

"I am Tala. Moana's grandmother," she said. The gentle smile turned into a teasing grin. "Occasionally I was also the village crazy lady." She looked at the two girls. "She's not ready yet, is she?"

Rose blinked and then shrugged. "Guess not," she said. "If you're implying what I think you are, we're getting two pills. One from her, and one from the water." She paused for a moment. "That was you, I'm guessing."

Tala nodded once.

"She is still so young for such a burden," she said. "I spared her from it for as long as I could."

"So, you're the heart of the world?" Summer asked, trying to sift through what the ghost was saying.

Tala smiled. "I have been for a long time," she said. "Moana is still so young, even as she's done so much."

Summer nodded a bit.

"Well, let us lock the world and we'll see about being on our way," she said. "So that everything can get back to normal."

Tala smiled. "I think this will not be your last visit," she said, eyeing them both.

Rose blinked at that.

Summer blinked at that as well.

"You know what? I don't know if that's some sort of magical precognizance or what, but I'm just going to roll with it," she said. She held out a hand and summoned her keyblade. "But we should still lock the world."

"Rolling with it is good," Rose agreed, summoning her own keyblade. "I'm still getting another pull, though. One here, and one from shore." She frowned.

Tala nodded. "I spared her as much as I could," she agreed quietly. "She's so young. But I cannot stop it entirely."

Summer considered that for a moment.

"Okay," she said. "So you, and her. I'm going to go out on a limb and say she needs to be out here too, or else this isn't going to work." She turned towards the shore, carefully going up on her toes to get a better look for Moana.

Moana however was already swimming towards them, because she'd seen Tala. Maui was still on the beach looking confused.

Summer gave Moana a hand up onto the reef as she approached. Tala just smiled at Moana and waited patiently.
