Summer studied him for a moment, and then ventured an actual answer.
"It's called a keyblade," she said. "It's supposed to look like a key as big as a sword." |
"What the hell." Tony looked puzzled, frowning at them. "Okay, where did you two escape from and why did you not come with 'return to' tags."
|
Summer couldn't help but grin. Banter with Tony Stark, this was actually kind of fun. Absently, she dismissed her keyblade and the shield vanished.
"I know it sounds crazy," she said. "But honestly, you're one to talk, there's been a lot of crazy in this world recently, I'm guessing." |
"Where did that just go?" Tony asked, momentarily distracted by the physically impossible thing she'd just done. "And what do you mean on this world?"
|
"What?" Summer asked, blinking. "Oh. Sorry, I didn't even realize. Anyways, it's really kind of complicated and sounds really, really crazy and I kind of want to find someone who will believe us before we explain everything."
|
Tony eyed her, because that right there looked like magic, which was a potential threats. "Right, come with me."
|
Summer nodded and glanced at Rose.
"Odds that we're heading to the tower?" she murmured to her friend. |
"Really good," Rose muttered back.
Tony stepped out of the armor, already tapping on his watch. Happy would be there in five minutes. He just had to keep an eye on the two new crazies until then. |
Summer looked around a bit, now that they weren't under immediate threat of heartless.
"This place feels kind of like home," she commented to Rose. "Well, New York-home. It's kind of familiar." |
"It is," Rose agreed quietly. "Familiar but with that edge of being just a bit different."
|
"Exactly," Summer said, nodding. She stopped and stared in awe for a moment as they got to the tower. "Oh wow, look at that."
|
"Come on, hurry up," Tony said, glancing back at them. "Tour later, meeting now." He beckoned them along to the elevator waiting patiently for them.
|
"We're hurrying," Summer said. She stepped into the elevator and blinked. "That's... a lot of floors," she commented when she saw how many buttons there were.
|
"That's not even all of them," Tony told her, glancing over at them both. "Main floor, I think, Jarvis."
"Indeed, sir," Jarvis agreed as the elevator started moving. "I have already asked the rest of the team to be present." |
Summer's face lit up when she heard Jarvis, and she looked at Rose in glee.
"This is awesome," she murmured. "I don't even have words for it." |
"I know," Rose muttered with a grin of her own. "This is fantastic."
Tony eyed the two before he shook his head and showed them along inside. |
Summer looked around as they were led inside.
"So this is what it looks like to have too much money," she commented. |
"No kidding," Rose muttered, also looking around.
Tony snorted quietly, because he had heard that. "Honestly, this isn't even the most opulent place I own," he pointed out. |
"I don't doubt that," Summer replied, still looking around. "I don't doubt that in the slightest." She almost tripped herself when they rounded a corner into what looked like a large living room and she saw someone on the couch playing video games.
|
"Clint, lay down the video game," Tony called, already looking around to see who else was around. He made a brief face when he saw Agent Agent, but that couldn't be helped at this point.
|
Clint glanced over and blinked.
"Aren't you usually the one complaining about unauthorized visitors?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "What's with this? Who are they?" |
"Strays," Tony told him dryly, grimacing briefly. "Trying to figure out if they're the good kind or the bad kind."
Well, that wasn't entirely unexpected, but Rose still made a face at that. She didn't argue yet, though. |
Clint just raised an eyebrow. He already knew that if Tony had decided the newcomers were the bad sort of strays, they wouldn't have made it in the door with him. He glanced at Phil to try to gauge the handler's reaction.
"Oh god this is amazing," Summer breathed in Rose's ear. |
Phil was observing the two. Something was off about them, but he couldn't put his finger on what yet. But he would.
"I know," Rose breathed with her own little grin. Tony turned and ushered the girls over to the table, glancing at Phil and Clint. "Remember those weird shadowy blobby things we've been seeing around recently?" |
"The weird little monsters with the glowing eyes?" Clint asked warily. "What about 'em?"
