Athena snickered.

"I don't know who you think you're fooling, your phone could go off right now and you'd be on the clock again," she teased.

"Right now, sure," Alana agreed. "But not like when we went to Tahiti."

"Oh god, Tahiti," Athena said, snickering. "That was a trip and a half, pun not actually intended."

Alana grinned. "Yup." She shook her head. "I'm gonna shower and go pass out, I have to get to the office early to get extra work done since I'm not sure how long Tony-sitting will take."

"Yeah, I'm going to head to bed soon myself," Athena agreed, stretching a bit with a yawn. "Things to do tomorrow, since now I've got a visit to work around."

"Yeah." Alana stretched and headed back to her room. "Try not to fret," she said before she locked herself in the bathroom for a shower.

"Easy for you to say!" Athena called after her. With a sigh, she got up and went to go flop on her bed. It had been a long day, and tomorrow promised to be even longer.

By the next morning, Alana was prepped for battle, and really hoping she wouldn't have to do as much Stark wrangling as she was prepared to do. It was always easier when he just cooperated.

"Morning Tony," she said as she swept into the Avengers common area.

Tony just made a vague sound of greeting around his mug of coffee, waving a hand.

Alana snorted quietly. "You've got the walkthrough at one," she told him. "And everyone is going to the gala, that means you too, Clint!"

There was a vague curse from the vents.

Tony waved a hand to show he'd heard. He was definitely not awake yet; he'd spent the last four days in the lab, and had only briefly managed about five hours of sleep.

Alana knew that, because she had Jarvis give her an update every morning on the team. So she spent most of her morning doing her normal work; paperwork, intern wrangling, and arranging things so nothing would blow up.

But at 12:30, she went to go start poking Tony. "Time to go."

Tony looked up from the little bit of nothing he was tinkering with.

"Already?" he asked. "Huh, time flies." He shrugged and stood up, absently wiping his hands on his jeans. Then he paused. "Right, probably need to dress up for this, huh?"

"Not really, this is an informal visit," Alana told him. "They'll still be working on the gallery because it's not fully set up yet, because you couldn't wait four more days." She shot him a bit of a Look.

"Good, excellent, don't need to change then," Tony said. "Let's go, I want to see how they're treating my things."

Alana snorted but headed for the elevator so they could go down to the car.

"Just don't touch stuff," she told him once they were both in the elevator. "Don't touch things, don't move things, and for the love of all you hold dear, try to be nice."

"I'm always nice," Tony protested. "When have I not been nice?"

"All the time," Alana drawled. "Seriously, if you criticize my sister too much on how she's doing things or how it's set up or anything, she will eviscerate you and I will not stop her."

"Come on, it can't be that hard to slap a couple things into display cases and put them in a room," Tony said. "Besides, you can't do your job if I'm eviscerated."

"It is harder than that, believe it or not," Alana told him. "And I definitely can still do my job, my job is PR coverage for the team, not just you anymore."

"C'mon, you like me more than that, I know you do, don't deny it," Tony said as he followed her.

Alana snorted quietly but didn't dispute that. Instead she settled into the car Happy was standing next to, waiting for them.

"Just go easy on them," she said.

"It's like you don't know me at all," Tony said. He paused when he got to the car, clearly debating whether or not he wanted to push Happy to the passenger seat and drive himself.

Alana rolled her eyes. "Happy, Tony's driving," she said.

Happy sighed. "Sure thing, boss," he agreed, walking around the car.

Tony smirked and jumped into the driver's seat. He hardly waited for Alana and Happy to be in their seats before he threw the car into gear and peeled away down the road.
