Olive snickered. "You'd make it through," she said. "With much grumbling, and possibly a couple Pepper-Up Potions."
"Probably," Cat said. "And a lot of tea. I'd probably have to raid the kitchens a couple of times."
"You hardly need to raid the kitchens, you just go ask politely," Olive pointed out with a grin. "I've done it before, it's great."
"It's still a raid, even when the house elves bundle me into a corner and hand me biscuits with the tea," Cat said with a grin.
Olive snorted at that and shook her head. "So, plans for the day?" she asked, changing the subject.
"Nothing, really," Cat admitted. "Didn't really plan anything." She grinned. "Maybe following you down to visit Great Uncle Newt so you can play with your niffler again."
Olive grinned. "Yeah, I need to go visit my niffler," she agreed. "I was thinking of seeing if he's got anything else he's willing to share with us."
"I want to see that case again," Cat said, eyes bright. "It was beautifully enchanted."
"It was," Olive agreed. "And I bet it's even better than we know right now, I bet he's got more hiding in there."
"Yeah," Cat said, grinning. "What say you we head down after breakfast ends? It's late enough in the morning as it is."
"Sounds good to me." Olivia grinned at that and finished off her tea. "Just let me know when you're ready."
"One more cup of tea," Cat said as she snagged a passing teapot. She poured herself one more cup and drank it quickly. "Alright, let's go."
Olivia snickered but got up to head outside. She did take her time, though. It was a Saturday, there was no rush. Besides, Cat looked like she might fall over if she walked too fast.
Cat kept pace with Olivia out to the grounds. She stretched a little as they got out into the sun and gave a soft sigh.
“Don’t mind me if I end up napping out here,” she said to her cousin. |
"Not a problem, I thought you might, with weather like this." Olive grinned and continued down towards the nifflers.
Cat just moseyed her way down the grounds with Olivia. She wasn't sure where their great-uncle was, but she was fairly sure Olivia knew.
Olivia grinned when she spotted Newt out near some of the creatures. They were kept out of the way of the students, naturally, but she wasn't surprised to find him there.
"Hi Great-uncle Newt." |
“Ah, hello girls,” Newt replied, turning around. A bowtruckle climbed up his arm to his shoulder. “What brings you down here?”
"Half looking for you, half wanting to play with my niffler," Olivia told him with a grin, though she was definitely looking at the darling bowtruckle, to.
“Looking for me?” Newt asked, raising an eyebrow.
“I’m nosy and I want to see the enchanted suitcase again,” Cat said. |
"Ah." Newt was quiet for a moment. "Why do you want to see it?" He looked at her, one eyebrow slightly raised.
Cat shrugged.
“I’m curious, and nosy, and I want to see what all is in it,” she said. |
"You can't see everything in here," Newt told her straight off. He looked around to make sure no one else was around. "But we can take a look."
"Why can't we see everything?" Cat asked. "Is it a matter of time? Or is it something that you don't want us to see?" She paused. "Sorry. I'm nosy."
"So you've mentioned." Newt grinned a bit. "There are some things in here that are dangerous. Not that I don't think you're capable sixth-year students, but your grandparents would have my head if anything happened to either of you."
