Alice smiled at that, a bit pink, and managed to find a piece of paper. "Here," she said, scribbling her number on it. "In case you do decide to." She handed it over to him.

Bruce took the paper and slipped it into a pocket.

“Thanks,” he said, smiling.

"Any time." Alice grinned, and then paused when she heard familiar swearing. "Sounds like Callie found something that doesn't work right, or broke something."

"Feel like going to investigate?" Bruce offered, gesturing in the general direction of the practice arena.

"Why not." Alice smiled. "You coming too?"

"May as well," Bruce replied, nodding.

Out in the arena, Calypso was just going over her upcoming season schedule. Snorlax was still in the ring, practically napping as Allegra's pokemon charged at it and bounced off again.

"Goddamn it," she said, going over some dates on the tournament season calendar. "I'm going to be traveling on Christmas again." She looked up at Tony. "They want me in Toronto on the 26th. Who schedules this shit like this?"

Tony shrugged. "Someone with no family," he guessed. "Won't take long to get there, though. What time do you need to be in Toronto?"

“In the arena by ten,” Calypso replied, adding some notes to her professional calendar in her trainer gear.

"Well, you've got two options. I can fly you out late Christmas night or early the next morning." Tony shrugged a bit.

“It’ll have to be the night before,” Calypso replied. “I need to be able to get my team settled and get some sleep before competition starts. None of us will be at our best if we come in that morning.”

Tony nodded. "That night it is," he agreed. "Jarvis, put that on the calendar."

"Of course, sir."

“You don’t have to, you know,” Calypso said. “I could just take a normal flight.” She glanced at him. “Unless you just want to show off your jet or something.”

Tony shrugged. "Mine will be at a more convenient time, guaranteed," he said. "And even I like Christmas, so I can let you enjoy yours, come on now."

"Well, then, I may as well take you up on it," Calypso said. "Thanks, sir."

Tony made a face. "How many times have I told you not to call me sir?" he grumbled. "Ugh, making me sound like my father. No."

“Sorry, slipped out,” Calypso said. Getting up, she stretched a bit. “Alright, Allegra, breaktime!” Going out into the arena, she went over to Snorlax to see if he was actually asleep or just faking it. She was about to recall him when she noticed one of Tony’s lab techs hovering near the edge of the arena, holding a pokeball.

The tech noticed her looking and stepped forward, holding out the pokeball. "This was a surrender," he told her. "And since Mr. Stark chose you as one of his few chosen trainers, we thought you could put it through its paces and see what exactly it's capable of."

Calypso blinked, and shook her head.

“It’s too close to the start of season, I don’t have the time to take on a new Pokémon to work with,” she said. She considered for a second, and then grinned. “Allegra just came off the Junior league season, give it to her.”

The tech blinked but didn't protest, since Tony didn't, and turned to Allegra.

"What?" Allegra squeaked, startled.

Calypso grinned.

“Go ahead,” she said. “Take it. You’re on your off-season, so you’ll have plenty of time to work with whatever it is.”

Allegra nodded and hesitantly took the pokeball. She was still for a moment, just looking at it, before she released the pokemon inside. The Castform shook itself and looked at her curiously.

Calypso looked at the pokemon as it shook itself and investigated its new trainer.

"Huh," she said. She looked at the lab tech. "Someone surrendered a Castform? That's surprising."

The tech shrugged.

"We don't control what people drop off. Maybe they couldn't take care of it," he said.

Allegra was just looking at her new Castform as curiously as it was looking at her.

"Well, this'll be fun to watch," Tony said with a little grin.

"Yes it will," Calypso agreed. She turned to Allegra. "So. Tell me what you know about Castform as a pokemon species."

"Um." Allegra floundered for just a moment before she nodded. "They're changeable, they like to go with the weather, or influence the weather. Which can make them unpredictable."
