With a frown Edward let Shiba move away, but he kept beside her while she drug out her color. He sighed when she'd stopped and moved to lay a hand on her shoulder.
"That's it, you're not using Alchemy anymore tonight." He looked at her hard, with concern dancing just beyond the flash of his gold eyes.
"Tell me the pigments you need and I can do the rest, look at you Shiba, you're worse than before!" Seemingly to emphasize his point both Alponse and Kiri waited just beyond the two, nodding their agreement.
"He's right, you look awful."

He made an attempt to grab her, but Shiba was already well on her way to trying another Transmutation, Edward cursed loudly as she toppled over, skidding on his knees beside her.
"Shiba! Shiba!" He cried shaking her shoulder lightly.
"Hey come on! Stay with me!" Checking her pulse, Edward cursed again as he wiped off her face where shards of glass were dangerously close to her cheek and turned to Alphonse and Kiri.
"What can we do, her heart's pounding!" Kiri shot a glance to the creek and sighed, moving beside the two.
"You keep a hold on her...keep her awake." She clapped her hands and started bulidng a ball of water, drawing moisture from the air around them, it got chilly as it grew bigger and bigger, widing around her arms and onto her shoulders.
"This is just like when I overdo it...it'll be a few moments before the pain passes..but.." She pressed both her hands, palm to palm on Shiba's, water sifting through the small cracks to cool the burn marks with a hiss and plume of steam.
"She should be alright after they stop burning."

He breathed a sigh of relief when Shiba finally opened her eyes, and Edward smiled at her.
"Shiba...are you alright?" He moved to intercept her as she sat up, but leaned her back as her elbows gave out. He looked down, his usual angry countanace unable to hide his concern.
"Take it easy!" He said as loud as he dared.
"You need to rest now."
"He's right you know. You really pushed yourself to far." Kiri's face was hard and her eyes bore right through Shiba.
"You should have taken a break before trying anything like that." She reached out and with a slight smiled, lay her hand over one of Shiba's.
"Ane..you're no more trouble than anyone else." Edward, too overcome with relief merely nodded his agreement.

"I know I worry alright? But you're so damn stubborn!" He chuckled and dug a knuckle into her forhead.
"So let me do my job Okay? There's no need to worry about your paint, I'll get it later."
Kiri quirked an eyebrow and stood. She sent a final worried glance back to the two of them, and then made her way over to the fire to prod the dying flame back to life.
Alponse moved beside them and picked up the shattered frames.
"Umm...here's your glasses..." He sighed and looked them over turning them this way and that.
"Aren't much use like this though are they?"

"Better watch that, I might catch that tounge." He smiled and squeezed her lightly.
"It'll be good if you sleep. We don't mind."
"Meh, and stop acting like worrying about you is a heroic feat. It's what friends do."
Alphonse frowned..as well as he could.
"Don't worry about your glasses, we'll handle that much. Just rest now." He chuckled.
"Fluffy friends huh?"
Kiri looked back with a smile.
"So I can safely assume that you're hungry?" She handed Shiba one of the fish by way of Alphonse and rocked back on her heels.

He smirked and made a grab for her tounge like he'd promised, but she'd turned to Alphonse before he could get a good grip on it.
Alone? From her position Kiri sighed and went to a thug squat, leaning on her knuckles as she pressed them into the ground.
"I told you Ane...you and I are strays...and as such we're never really alone."
Edward nodded in agreement and squeezed her shoulders again, looking this way and that.
"Girls are scary...present company...at times excluded." Kiri shot him a bored glare and he chuckled.
"I said 'at times'." That seemed to satisfy her and she turned back to the fire.
"If it sucks so bad at your school, why do you keep going? I mean, there was your parents and all..but going for their sake can't be healthy."

"Are you sure you're alright enough to stand?" Alphonse rose with her in case she fell. Edward shrugged and nodded.
"You're not scary in that sense...but you and the watersprite over there can get pretty violent."
A snort was the only reply he got.
"Seriously though, why waste your time? You do great work, and I'd be willing to bet that there are a lot of people who'd pay pretty good for what you do."

"Money isn't eveything you know." Kiri motioned for Shiba to move closer to the fire.
"A camp by a creek is often as comfortable as a hotel..if the company is good." She cast a gaze around the camp and smiled.
"Are you saying that the company is good now?" She shrugged with a smile.
"When you're not trying to sell me or Aniki out to that Mustang man, then yes, you're actually quite nice."
She looked at Shiba like she'd lost her mind.
"What is...PMSing? Does that make those of the female gender angry?"
Edward just sighed and let his forhead hit his palm, choosing to ignore that and answer Shiba's question.
"No, the statue isn't what I meant, I meant, that you could do well selling your art instead of taking it to a stuffy class all day."

Ed smiled and moved beside her, pumping his hands up and down her shoulders helping to warm them.
"You cold?" He asked.
"Now that I think about it...it is getting chilly isn't it?"
"Told you." She looked over to Shiba and nodded.
"Good..I'd like to know more about these terms you use."
She smirked as Shiba talked about her work and needing a male model, then moved behind her and Edward as if to get more wood and nudged him in the shoulder with her elbow.
"I'm sure Edward would love to help you out there." She winked.
"Even without pay." He turned red and turned to glare at her.

"No rain, at least not tonight, but you should at least have a warm place to stay...without having to fix it yourself." She motioned for Al to follow her and for Ed to stay where he was.
"We'll set up a few lean-to's by the creek, you two wait here by the fire. That way you don't get cold." She waved back to them, and made her way to the stream.
Edward turned ten diffrent shades of red before his face went back to normal.
"I...I really wouldn't mind it...if you'd want to sell your stuff." He turned to the fire and scratched the back of his head.
"But, that's just me rambling, ignore me."

"Not sure...those two could be up to anything." Edward blushed and tapped her hand away..it'd been a while since anyone had pinched his cheeks. His eyes shot up and he coughed, almost choking.
"W-Would you really have to paint me....naked"

They worked in silence. Kiri would jerk limbs down from the trees, absolutely refusing to allow Alphonse to use Alchemy, it had been a while since she'd had to camp out and she wasn't taking any chances, better to do it by hand and spend longer than rely on Alchemy to do it for her.
"Aren't you cold Kiri?" She let out a small gasp and mentally cursed herself. She still only wore her white tank and her arms were bare.
"Uh..n-no not really..I'm fine.."
"Well if you say so...but it's almost as if you don't feel the cold at all."
"Well, you don't."
"I'm a special case."
"Well I'm warm-blooded." Was that right? Was that how Aniki had put it..it had to be..she couldn't risk exposure.

He smiled and nodded.
"Of course..so long as I can hold you to not making me take off my pants." He chuckled, the laugh fading in his throat as she mentioned his scar.
"Yeah...it's certainly something that adds character...." He looked down at his right hand and sighed.
"Even though I can't wait to forget about it."

He smirked.
"Do I dectect a hint of adoring fangirl-ness in that statement?" He laughed lightly and thought a moment.
"Why not." He jerked out the band that held the end of his braid and ran a hand through the winding locks, jerking out the knots that he'd twisted and shook out what was left of his yellow hair.
"Better?" He took her hand in his and tilted his head.
"Shiba, I know that's not the reason..and that's not what I meant...I made a promise..long ago, to get Al's orginal body back...and he won't be satisfied until we both have that..when that happens...I won't have a need for this automail anymore..and I'll be glad for it."
