Edward blinked as Shiba looked his hand over.
"It's...nothing...r-really.." He protested. He looked away from her, unable to meet her gaze with his own. "Shiba...." He didn't say a word, but twisted his hand around her wrist as gently as he could and pulled her into his arms. "I..I want you to stay...with me...I..don't want to go back alone. I know..you don't like Military...and I'm the worst of the worst...trust me..I've seen the Hell State Alchemists cause for the public...but that's who I am...who I've been...and if you can overlook that...I'll do my best to do right by you." |
I frowned as he looked away at my stare into his eyes...then I was suddenly flung into his body and I had thought I had tripped for a second... but I didn't... I wasn't even walking.
My head flew into his breast and I brought my arms to my sides; my heart was racing, and my face grew as red as the coat on his back. My hands were clenched into fists... then I relaxed, hearing his soft words. The dark room.. only dimly lit by a candle on the other side of the room... was an awkward, yet right setting for this moment. I felt his heart beneath my temple; it was racing as fast as mine... probably even faster. "E-Edward... You won't be going back alone... you have Alphonse... I'll.. only get in the way of your work.." i said softly, closing my eyes. "I can't go to Risembool... I have to stay here.. for school..." my voice quivered. |
"It won't be the same." He hiccuped.
"You and I both know that..." He only held her tighter as if the very mention of 'school' was going to tear her from him that instant. "I know you have school..but you'll be done soon won't you? And after that what will you do?" He shook his head and tried to slow his breathing, Edward was starting to wonder why his heart wasn't cracking his ribcage at that very moment. "Can't....can't I...isn't there someway that I can make everything up to you? Isn't there some way that I can prove that everything I say is the truth?" |
The breath was taken from my lungs as he gripped me tighter, and I turned my head and looked up at him, I was now on my knees; they were too wobbly to keep me standing (plus, the height thing, this pose wouldnt work out LOL).
"I still have my senior year to go though Ed... I can't just quit.. I'm so close to my degree... Then.." I sighed and closed my eyes, laying my head back to where it was, i stared at his arm that held me tight. "..Then I want to be an art teacher... and a freelance painter... that... was my plan... and I never told anyone. I want to teach children the importance of artwork... and keep the thrill of painting and sculpting alive by teaching a younger generation how important it is... Risembool... from what I heard... is a very small village..." I sighed. "I never told my dream to anyone.. noone ever really cared enough to ask me..." I brought my hands up to grip his forearms and i looked up at him. "Theres nothing to forgive.... I think.. youre just a confused boy who doesnt know how else to comfort a friend.. that is a girl.... other than holding her close and asking her to stay by your side.." I pushed his arms to his sides and stood up again, dusting off my bare knees and I turned away from him. "Jeeze... what did Mustang say to you to get you to act like this, huh? This... isn't like you at all Edward... i think the fever is making you delusional... you should get more rest." I glanced over my shoulder and smiled at him. |

*Stabs self* Meh: LOL He's got ketchup all over him! LOL..just had to put what I was thinking)) He let her go and sighed, hanging his head. "Yeah....that's...that's gotta be what it is.." He stumbled back holding his head. "A-Alright...I'll try that then.." He moved out into the back where Al would be and grabbed up a towel as he went...he would try her advice and try to rest...maybe..maybe it was the fever..he still felt hot...his hand was on fire and his face was red. He stepped out into the hot spring area and waved at Al who still waited out there. "Hey." He said moving to sit on a rock and remove his shoes. "Hey." Came the response. "How did you and Shiba get along?" "Alright..I guess....She told me I should have stayed in bed." |
[XD Im playing hard to get... i like the odd tension between them LOL, and Eds fumbling over himself 24/7 its cute.
Shiba: EW I hate Ketchup!!! *cries*] I watched him leave, sliding the door halfway shut behind him. I sighed and looked to my hands, which were shaking. "What... is he thinking??? Grabbing me like that..." i said to myself and i staggered over to my makeshift bed and plopped down onto my knees. I placed my hand over my racing heart and closed my eyes. "Damn you.. I think... I'm falling in love all over again..." I whispered. I looked to my left at the open door, only ajar by about 6 inches and sighed. I wanted to join them... but I knew it was improper. I turned back to look forward and found myself gazing at the divider between the 2 futons the boys would be sleeping on... I closed my eyes and found my mind racing... hearing only the sounds of crickets and the running hot water outside. |

Edward hissed as he lowered hims aching body into the hot water. "I think I hate Mustang now more than ever.." He muttered. Al, who had moved to the rim to escape the all too warm water that he'd been soaking in for the last little bit, cocked his head and looked at his brother. "Why is that?" "Because his advice sucks." "Oh, Ed..you didn't listen to him about dealing with Shiba did you?" "Why not...he seems to get a lot of dates.." "That's his code Ed, you know that as well as I do." "So? That doesn't mean that it's not possible." "Now you're just being childish." "Well, what am I supposed to do Al? Nothing I do seems to work....I can't get anywhere with Shiba..no matter how hard I try...I'm starting to think it's a lost cause." |

*final episode runs though head... Ed lays in his own pool of blood... music fades out as Ed's pupils dialate- Hoenheim calls from the offscene "CUT!" Ed jumps up and grimaces. "I hate the small of ketchup.." Hoenheim laughs. "Awww, I know you do, especially after losing so much blood in this series.. and it was your final scene too..." Eds eyebrow twitches and he sends his father a glare. "Final..? I DIE in the end!? WTF kind of ending is that?!" Hoenheim simply laughs and shrugs. "Fine fine... sequel it is.." Ed squees and pulls off his vest and strips himself of the empty ketchup packets hidden away and jumps into a random hot spring behind one of the set's walls. "Ah.. all in a day's work."* The End LOL last episode of FMA as I see it now LOL] My thoughts were interrupted by Ed's voice and the mention of Mustang and I alerted my hearing towards the ajar door. I looked out from where I sat and only saw Ed's bare shoulder. I blushed and jerked my head back... but curiosity was getting the best of me at the moment and I crawled on all fours to the side of the door and sat there.. listening intently. His words.. echoed... "'Getting anywhere with Shiba?' Whats that supposed to mean??" I whispered under my breath. I cupped my hand around my ear and listened on. I adjusted my legs underneath myself, and got comfortable; who knew how much longer the boys would be in the spring.. poor Al had to be a prune by now... I smiled at the thought of him realizing it and shrieking with that raspy, broken voice of his. |

"Is that what you want?" Al asked flatly. "No..but for pete's sake Al, I've all but told her I love her and all she does is say 'I've got school'." He groaned and shook his head. "What should I do..." Al looked over, his dark eyes almost smirking. "Have you tried that?" "Tried what?" "Telling her that you love her? Some girls just need to be told." "Of course I haven't...I figured she'd pick up the second time I asked her to stay with me.....and since when did you become such an expert?" "Since I started listening to people." He grinned and chuckled. "Shut up." Edward retorted splashing Alphonse playfully. |
That word.. made my eyes widen. Love... It was the one word I would never expect to hear from Ed's mouth and my heart raced. my mouth grew dry as I listened on... Alphonse was right.... Ed kept sending me mixed signals and I could never figure him out. If he wanted to say it, just say it instead of beating around the bush. I yawned, but listened on, putting my ear to the door.

"What will you do now...with the way that you talked...Shiba really didn't want anything more to do with you." "I know I know...I can't figure out how I'm going to make it up to her..." "Well, you could start by taking her out to dinner....and not making an ass out of yourself this time." "That's right...it's been a while since we've done anything like that...hasn't it?" "MMhmm. I blushed and closed my eyes and stood, feeling, listening to them... was wrong. I walked to my two pushed together pillows and laid down on them, pulling my jacket over myself. I stared at the ceiling.
What am I doing? I should be painting and sleeping in the woods... how... did I let myself get caught up in the moment? I sighed deeply and closed my eyes. By the sound of Ed's voice, he was feeling better, or so I guessed. I glanced over at the clock. 12:32am. I yawned and closed my eyes and laid my arms at my sides, wondering what tomorrow will bring. |

Alphonse, now satistfied that his brother was well on his way to rectifying the situation with Shiba, he stood and shook off the excess water that clung to him, and then moved back inside, pausing only a moment by the door to redress. He smiled at Shiba as she slept, and then moved to his futon, she really should have been sleeping there, but he wasn't going to wake her to tell her that. When Alphonse opened his eyes again, it was daybreak, he grumbled softly and rolled off into the floor grumbling softly. He looked around, but Edward was no where to be seen, he shuffled over and peeked out the door, but he wasn't there either. Alphonse's eyebrows furrowed and he wondered where Edward could have gotten to. "Good morning." Came the greeting from a blonde alchemist that obviously had nothing better to do than worry his younger brother. "Where have you been Ed?" He hefted to trays of food only to set them on the table. "Breakfast, you two wern't going to order anything, snoring like you were, so I went down and brought it back up." |

I slept as sound as a newborn kitten all night, curled in a ball between the cushions I called my bed and I was halfway under the table I slept near. My glasses folded up on the table, on top of my small day planner, I slept soundly, and deeply, not even hearing Ed or Al speaking. A few grumbles and I rolled over onto my back sprawled out, my blankets falling off me to reveal my bare legs and a bit of my stomach showed from my white shirt that lifted a bit, resting under my breast. I let out a deep sigh and mentioned an inaudible name. It had to be about 11 am by now, by how the sun shone in, lucky for me, I was in the shadow of the table; nothing could disturb me now, or so I thought the night before, planning it out so the sun wouldn't blind me in the morning. |

"Morning sleepyhead." Ed smiled leaning across the table and placing a hot cup of tea in front of where Shiba would lean up from "Who are you and what did you do with Edward?" Alphonse grumbled. "You're never this perky of the morning...not even now." "Ha, ha. You're a riot Alphonse really." He placed another cup on that side of the table and then sat down. "But seriously, if you two don't wake up..this stuff's gonna get cold." Edward's stomach growled in protest at all the talking and he obliged it by digging into his own plate. |

I slowly opened my eyes to find a bright ceiling overhead and I groaned, rolling my head to the side. "But.. I don't wanna go to school.." I pulled the blanket over my head and then I smelled it... eggs... sausage... tea.. I jerked my head up and hunched myself over the table to find a steaming cup of tea at my side. I slippe don my glasses and wearily looked to the two smiling faces, then back to Ed's... who was smiling??? Creepy... "Good morning..." I said, not even bothering to cover up my bare legs. They saw me naked what's to hide? |
((Not at all! XDD I enjoy talking to juu. My Cd project I've got to do a little more work on and get everything ready for print, and my poster is almost ready to be scanned, XDD I didn't get chewed out today so class is going good.))
Edward nodded to Shiba as she rose and smiled back to Al. "See, she knows when it's time for breakfast." He sighed and then joined his brother, seriously wondering if whatever happened last night had really jarred Edward's brain that much. |

Okay, I was worried I was buggin you too much >..but im glad to hear your projects are coming along <3] I rolled my weary eyes to the boys... Ed... seemed different this morning and I couldn't put my finger on it. I sipped my tea slowly, and kept my eyes on them. What are they plotting? Well, I should say, what is Ed plotting..? His eyes seem so focused and bright this morning... it is seriously creeping me out. I broke the silence. "Uhm, so, what's the plan for today...?" I said with a cracked voice. I shifted my legs to an indian-style sitting, still sitting between the pillows I had slept on. |

Edward turned to her and paused mid-bite. "Well..first off..do you have school?" He scratched behind his head and chuckled. "I lost track of days." He then resumed eating, talking between bites. "If not, I'd see what they have going on around town and see if you'd want to go with me...that is...if you don't hate me, what with last night and all." He ducked his head sheepishly and smiled her way, glancing his gaze to hers pleadingly. |

"Great! We can go after you eat and get dressed." Edward's planning something. Alphonse thought slyly. He might actually figure this thing out this time. |

I looked to Alphonse and smiled. "Ed has been sick fore the past two days, i dont blame him for losing track of time..." I looked back to Ed and smiled, and nodded, finishing my delicious breakfast. I gulped my tea and patted my stomach and stood, still not caring that I was wearing a really short shirt. Even my pink panties showed. "Okay, well I'll be right back!" I gripped up my bag and practically behind the divider and stripped, then redressed in my normal garb, without my coat; it was kinda hot today. I came back out and saluted, smiling. "All done, Master. On your order!" I winked at him, straightening my back and arms at my sides. |

Edward was barely done eating when Shiba came back dressed and ready to go. He smiled and nodded rising. "We're going to be gone for a while Al, think you can handle yourself being alone for a while?" Alphonse smirked and grinned. "Only if you promise to behave out there." "No worries!" He offered Shiba his arm and opened the door. "Shall we?" He asked gallantly. |

I smiled at Al and winked at him, making sure Ed didn't see. "I'll be sure he behaves" I stuck my tongue out at Edward and locked my arm with his, laughing, kind of putting on an act, as I thought he was, for Alphonse. "Alright, see ya later Al!" I sad as I shut the door behind me. I pulled my arm from his and smiled. "Real cute, making your brother think were actually going out, like, on a date. How long do you think we can keep up this charade, Edward?" I quirked an eyebrow at him, walking down the hallway of the inn. "I dont think Kiri would approve of you playing your brother and I for the fool you know. So where are we really going? To find Scar?" I looked to him, my bright blue eyes growing even brighter as we stepped into the harsh sun. [please describe what hes wearing, remember its hot XD] |

Edward had left his coat back in the room, glad of it now as he stretched his bare arms over his head and smiled. "I meant it. Mustang told me that he heard Scar was moving around in Central, so he left, we're actually going out to see what's going on in town? honestly, must I always have an ulterior motive Shiba?" He looked around as they moved out into the street and didn't really see anything of intrest...well, the day was still young, he was sure that they'd find something soon. "At any rate, let's see what trouble we can get into!" He tugged at Shiba's elbow and drug her further into the heart of the city. |
