"I'm on summer duty here, looking for new recruits for the army, and making sure riff-raff like that stays out of this beautiful city!" He posed to the sky and his shadow practically consumed me and Ed. I knelt down and stared at it hard. "Its throbbing... here... I'll help.. follow me." I stood back up and took his hand and led him towards the bushes. Armstrong laughed. "You two behave, I have a pool to watch over-- BRITTNAY! stop running!! You can slip and fall!!!" He said running off. In the bushes, I looked to him and knelt beside him, and pushed the shorts down on the left side a tad to see how far the bruising had went on his side- it was on his hip too and I shook my head. "You should be more careful..I'm not worth all this nonsense...it was only my top, no big deal." I placed my ahdn on his hip and looked up at him. "Ready? Stay still now." |

"Like that's any kind of problem for you." Edward twisted every which way looking where Shiba stared, feeling her scrutinizing gaze rake over the bruise and making his skin itch. "Really it's nothing." He protested as she drug him off....throwing a hard glare at the Major as he ran off himself..kids...geeze. "Shiba, if I didn't think you were worth it would I have done it?" He hissed as the band on his shorts pressed against his side, the dark skin finally starting to smart. "I just couldn't let that jerk get away with swiping your clothes from you, that's gotta fall under harrasment or something." |
[Shed love to see me draw a FMA kitty and Armstrong fussing over it LOL I know it >.> My Cat has conquered my pile of wash and is triumphantly on top of the 3 foot high pile of clothes. LOL all proud.]
"Edward... Frankie has been doing that crap to me for years... I'm used to it." I pulled his shorts down even more and shook my head. "He got you good.. does to go down to your thigh too?? I need to the all the damage if i'm to help you with it.." I was unsure if Ed knew of my healing powers, but I think it was about time I showed him what I was capable of, and why the Colonel wanted to learn my alchemy so bad. I blushed when I noticed how far i had pulled his shorts down and squeaked, about facing and blushing, shoving my hands into my lap. "I-I'm sorry, i didn't mean to pull them down that far.. honest.." My voice cracked. The line of blond hair from his belly button and heading south into a forbidden territory that I was blindly slowly uncovering was burned into my memory, for that brief glance I had gotten.[NO, she didnt see XD] |

"Shouldn't have..." Edward inwardly fumed, thinking that someone should have ground 'Frankie's' nose into the pavement long ago. "Don't think so, it only smarts on my hip." He was gazing off into the space just behind Shiba's shoulder when her squeak brought him back to reality. "Huh? Oh..oh!" He turned red with realization and crossed his legs under him scratching the back of his head as he did so. "Ah, well, that's alright, I'll be fine." |
I shrugged.
"I was teased alot when I was a kid... so i'm used to being treated like that... no ones ever stood up for me before... or have gotten hurt in the process.." I turned back around and looked up at him, still on my knees. "Now that I know how far it goes, I can help." I closed my eyes and clapped and placed one hand on his wounded hip and the other on the throbbing side. Within seconds, the bruising and blackness and pain was gone. I slid my hands off him and pulled his shorts back up over to the indent they had left resting before. "There we go, good as new." I stood up and brushed the dirt off my knees. "We should get in one more dip before it gets too late." I thought nothing of my healing powers- I had done it to myself and wounded animals for years, in secret. |
He only smiled and turned a slight pink.
"Maybe it's time someone started." He muttered. He watched amazed as she used her Alchemy to heal what little of a wound ther was. It still bothered him that she could do things like that, but then agian ther must be all kinds of Alchemy in the world, right? And her transmutation circles were branded into her palms...so...why did it seem so odd to him? "T-Thanks." He said with a nod. "Yeah, we don't want to be wet when...oop." He smiled and rolled his eyes away, great Ed, way to almost ruin the surprise. |
I smiled at him, emerging from the bushes to find the pool was practically empty. Only Armstrong waved from his Lifeguard post.
"Im glad I could help. Wet when what?" I had no idea what he was talking about[seriously LOL]. "C'mon, the pool is like empty, we have it to ourselves!!" I sprinted towards the pool and dove from the side into the deep end, and emerged on the other side. I waved to him. "C'MON EWDWARD!!! Dive in for me!!!" I yelled. |
((XDD Then it'll be a surprise for the both of you! XDD Armstrong must have chased everyone away with his sparklies XDD Gah my eyeball!! *sparkle sticks in it*))
"Oh nothing." He said with a smirk, standing to follow her out. "Well, when did that happen?" He took a quick glance around the pool and then watched Shiba as she made her splash, nearly drenching him in the process. "Alright, alright." He said with a wave. He backed up a few steps, then raced in the general direction of the pool before leaping off the edge and cannonballing into the deep end. "Gah!" He sputtered as he surfaced. "Happy?" He wore a giant grin on his face as he shook off the chills again. |
[He sent his sparkle army after the stupid people so Shiba and Ed could be alone XD]
I shrugged. "Whatever you say" I laughed hysterically as he came pouncing forward, and expecting him to do a dive, i watched closely, but then was drenched by his childish cannonball. I witnessed his lips quivering as he spoke and I smiled at him, swimming closer. Armstrong stood up and jumped off the lifeguard stand. "I think I'll leave you two alone... Ill lock up the gate- you have 15 minutes left until the pool closes anyway." He walked off and locked up the gate then went into the building nearby. I gave Ed a look. "I thought you were gonna dive for me??" I watched as Armstrong walked off and cocked my head to the side. "Man... your friends really must want you to score with me.. leaving us alone all the time... he's a lifeguard, hes not supposed to leave us alone.." |

"They must...really though, you'd think that they'd be more responsible." He shook his head and quirked an eyebrow. "I thought that was a dive? I was never good at those kinds of things, in grace and ability, you beat me hands down Shiba." He put his hands up in defeat and sighed. "I just can't compete." |

I nodded and let out a long sigh, looking to the slowly darkening sky. "We... should get back home soon huh?" I said, feeling a bit awkward being left alone with him. I laughed. "That wasn't a dive... it was a cannonball... oh well, I guess if you openly admit I'm better at you, theres nothing to compete with you with. |

"Nah, it's still early." Edward said with a stretch above his head. "But maybe we should move on, I bet the city looks pretty at night." He moved to the side and hopped out, pulling his shorts up from where the water wanted to pull them farther down his back than where they rested. "Come on Shiba, oh Master of the Diving Board, before Armstrong locks us in here." |

"Early, but where else do we need to go? Dont you think Al is getting lonely??" I swam after him and watched him get out of the pool... and saw more of his butt than I had ever thought I'd see. I giggled to myself and climbed out behind him, and walked to our waiting chairs and dried off, putting on my glasses again. "Would that be so bad if you and I were locked in here alone hm?" I said, teasing him. I pulled out my brush and strated to brush my hair as I sat down on the chair. |

"He's fine, trust me." --------------------- Al was loving this, with Edward and Shiba gone, all there was for him was the sky, the bath, and food..he sneezed once, but that was it. "Hmm...I guess someone's talking about me." He muttered. ----------------------- "Besides, there's still somewhere I want to take you before we go back." |

I nodded and scooped up my clothes. "I guess youre right. Ill be right back" I headed for the nearby bathhouse and went inside and changed quickly and came back out, still in my bare feet. Tunk, thud, tunk, thud as I walked back towards the chairs we had our stuff on. I threw the suit and towel into the bag and sat down and slipped on my socks. "Take me somewhere? But, to where? Its getting dark.." I said worriedly to him. |

Edward had taken the time that Shiba was gone to dry off as well as dress, she came back out to the chairs just as he was comming back out of the bushes. He smiled and shrugged. "Eh, just around, like I said the town must look really pretty when it's dark." He shooed her on egging her to hurry up. "We might not get a good seat if you keep lagging like you are." He chuckled. |
I pulled on my shoes quickly and stood up.
"Youre right, the city is beautiful at night, especially in the summer." I raised my eyebrows as I picked up my bags. "Seat..?" I hurried to his side and Armstrong came out fully dressed, sparkling and waving. "Be safe you two. Give your regards to Alphonse for me." I nodded and looked down at Edward. "Well, youre the one with the plan, lead the way..." I said, smiling. |
"Alright!" Edward called with a wave.
"We'll tell him as soon as we get back." He lead the two out of the pool area and then down the street, after a few turns he looked over at Shiba, taking her hand and smiled. "Look familliar?" He asked. "If it doesn't it should." Another turn and Edward had lead them back to the restruant that he and Shiba had visited the night he'd gotten drunk. "You hungry?" He inquired simply. "This time, it's on me, and nooooo alcohol I swear." He chuckled and crossed his heart with a free hand. |
"Have a pleasant evening you two, be good and stay out of trouble." He smiled and retired to the pool area to treat the water.
I blushed and looked at my hand in his, his fingers interlacing with mine. I smiled softly and returned the grip and looked into his eyes. "Oh yeah, its the Italian place. I.. am hungry, but you dont have to do this, you already bought me a bathing suit..." I hated when poeple paid for me, it always made me feel like I owed them something, in most cases it did, so I stopped letting them pay a long time ago. "Are you sure about this? What about Alphonse?" I said softly. The street lights flickered on as we made our way closer to the resturant. the scent of spaghetti filled the air. |
"Just say 'Thank you' and that'll be enough...besides...I..I knid of thought it appropriate. You know?" He smiled and shook his head.
"By now, Al's either stuffing his face with room service food, getting pruny in the water, or sleeping. Trust me, compared to that armor..he's living the high life." -------------- Alphonse snuffled in the light doze he'd found himself in on the floor by the low table and threw his arm over his face, blocking out the lamps that he'd lit for Edward and Shiba when they got back. "Mmmpphh....I really couldn't...well, maybe one more sweet bun couldn't hurt...Zzzz..." ((XDD I love those little interludes)) ----------------------- "I'm still a little iffy on the menu...what looks good to you?" Edward's yellow eyes darted over the lines of dishes again and again, but he really couldn't find anything that he felt like he could stomach just yet. His belly was doing flipflops and he hadn't even said anything..not really. |

"Appropriate? As in...?" I said looking back at him and sitting in my seat in the dimly lit room. The table was lit by candle light and a waiter walked by and put two glasses of water on the table and bread sticks and zoomed off again. We were in somewhat of a private corner. "I guess, I just don't want him to feel left out or anything..." I said, looking over the menu. I crossed my leg over the other under the table and kicked him by accident. "Oh Gosh! I'm sorry!" I covered my eyes Real smooth Shiba...kick him herder next time... "Well, I used to eat here alot as a kid, and everything was great... i love their spaghetti, I got it last time, but its so good. the spiced the use are perfect! This is the best resturant in East City you know..." i blushed, looking over my menu at him. "And if you wanna drink, get something light." I winked at him, placing my menu on the table again. |

"Ahh...n-nothing..just ignore that." He chuckled and then winced as her foot came careening into his shin. "Mmm! Uhhh...Mmmm.." He didn't want her to think he'd been hurt or anything so he quickly grabbed up the water..making SURE it was water this time and took a gulp. "Good..water. You're alright, nothing to worry about." He took into consideration her suggestion and nodded thoughtfully...that sounded good...so long as they didn't pile his plate full he'd be able to keep it down with all the butterflies that were sure to show up. He blushed and hid his face behind the paper in front of him laughing unenthusiastically. "Cute..I'll remember that." But he couldn't help but smile, at least she was worried about him. |

I shrugged. I saw the face he made after I had kicked him, thinking he was only making faces and I made one back at him, crossing my eyes and sticking out my tongue. The waiter came back and smiled. "What a cute couple we have this evening, what could I get the two of you tonight?" I smiled up at him. "Uhm, I'll have a Shirly Temple, hit with a shot of brandy and the spaghetti dinner please." I haded him the menu. "Excellent choice, madam, and for the young sir?" he looked to Edward, pen ready. I smiled at him warmly, resting my chin on my hand. For once... my heart wasn't racing, I felt comfortable with him. I could still feel my face red though. I only wished he would have warned me in advance, I would have brought nice clothes and did my hair. |

Edward smirked and mimicked her face, turning when the waiter came, forgetting that his face was like that, he quickly jerked his tounge into his mouth and uncrossed his eyes turning three shades of red while Shiba ordered. "Uhh..for me...water and another spaghetti dinner, Thank you." He ducked his head politely, handing his menu off. As they were once more left to themselves he turned back to her and smiled. "See, I promised, I'm not taking ANY chnaces this time." He chuckled and cast a glance around the room. |

OH and I think I wanna draw Ed like that LOL DAMN YOU keeping me ideas x.x'] I laughed aloud at the face he made- he was never one to act goofy like that, or, around me anyway. His blushing was pure adorable and I smiled at him as he ordered, watching his lips move ever so carefully and how the light reflected off his lips... I got lost in daydreams. "Hm? Promised what? Oh.. no chances, right." I grinned, bringing my hands into my lap and I cleared my throat. "Aww. Ed dont wanna get smashed with me and do something you may regret??" I laughed and sipped my water. "So.." I ran my bare finger around the rim of my glass and looked at the things set across the table. "Why did you bring me here..? Why did you want to spend the day with me? As a final goodbye? Cause... it was sure a nice one, Edward.." I blushed and lowered my eyelids even more... thinking of him leaving was so painful... |
