"Sure, anyone may be forgiven at some point. They will earn your trust back, Im sure. Kiri... I think everything will turn out okay if you cooperate. Something tells me you just dont wanna do that." She watched as she fluffed her long, blond hair and Winry handed her the clothes.
"C'mon you can either sleep with me, or Grannny's bed. But be quiet, Alphonse, is most likly asleep." |
Kiri thought about that a moment and then dressed quickly.
"I'm not sure if that's just the case..." She muttered. "As for cooperating......I'm scared......and that's the truth of it...I'm scared of having to fight....the one person I love most in this world." She shook off her thoughts and skipped along behind Winry.. "If it's all the same to you...I'll....I'll stay with you tonight." |
Winry listened closely and nodded.
"Its good that you can admit yur scared. And mainly because youre afraid of hurting the person you love most. Thats a very grown up thing to do and say, you know." She agreed and laughed, opening her door and flicking on the light where den was asleep on the floor amongst screws, bolts and other such things. "Eh, dont mind my mess, its a hobby." She placed her hands under her armpits and plopped her down on the soft bed; she didnt want her to step on any of it with her small feet. She then went to her dresser and pulled out a long nightgown. She began to undress, her back to Kiri. "So do you plan on going back at all?" |
Kiri looked up and smiled.
"Really?" A giggle escaped her. "That's funny, normally people call me childish and naieve." She glanced around the room taking in all the items in a sweep. "Automail?" She asked. Kiri stopped, picking up a drawing of an arm and studied it.. "You're very good....but I'm not sure.....going back is kind of complicated now that I'm out this far....and I'm sure there's about three people now that aren't going to be happy that I left." |
She smiled as she turned back around with the long gown on.
"Well, running away from home is kind of childish, Kiri.." she said, scratching the back of her head. Her eyes shot straight up that the kid knew what auto mail was. "Where did you learn about automail?" She said, sitting down beside her. She shook her head. "We can get you anywhere with a train ride. If I need to, Ill even go with you to make it easier on you. Whaddya say?" |
She paused a moment, her face blank, then a gentle smile crept back over her face.
"Tu'che." She blushed a little and quickly laid the drawing on the table closest to her. "Ah...N-North City." She said. Well, it wasn't a complete lie, she remembered that was where she and Edward had first met, therefore, that was where she learned about Auto-mail. Crap Kiri thought to herself. "Ah, t-that's very kind of you Winry....but really there's no need to trouble yourself...I.....I can find my way back....." Or find her way farther away, having Winry along was only going to complicate things....and Kiri still wasn't sure about returning....with the way everything went last time.....she KNEW she wouldn't be able to defeat the Mustang man this time. |
She nodded.
"Ah yeah, north city. A place where many people congregate, so of course you'd see some there, i suppose." She shook her head, looking sternly at Kiri. "If your not comfortable going back then we wont get you back right away. I just want you to realize that your family is waiting for ynou and are worried..." She sighed and flicked out the light. "c'mon, lets get some sleep." she lifted the blanket for her to snuggle in and she waited for her. |
"Y-yeah...a lot of people..." She sighed and nodded.
"I ...I know....thanks..." she crawled in beside Winry and curled up into a ball, tucking the cover tightly around her. Slowly her eyes closed and she felt a bit drowsy...but as always....stayed on the verge of conciousness....there was never any sleep for her...not in this body. "......what am I going to do?" She breathed quietly into the pillow. |
Winry closed her eyes as soon as she knew she was in bed and warm enough. she rolled over to her side and fell asleep quickly. The sounds in the room were unfamiliar to Kiri, and every now and then Den would stir. Winry slept soundly, snuggled into her pillow, in a dreamy bliss.
|
It lasted for a while, but just as the clock struck one, Kiri couldn't take it anymore. She slowly got up and moved silently to the window, hopping up into the sill and looking outside.
She glanced down at herself and narrowed her eyes. "....It would be so much simpler to run now and forget this place." She muttered, she turned and looked over her shoulder. "But.....I can't....stupid Winry...." Her mouth curled into a smirk and she leaned against the side of the window. "Telling me all that stuff about forgiveness.....how am I supposed to ditch you and run now?" She looked up at the moon and sighed. "I can't.....and so.....we head back..." A soft whine and Kiri jerked around to see Den looking at her from her place at the foot of Winry's bed. "What?" She asked the dog. "I can't sleep, so what's the point in trying? I'll go back in a minute." This seemed to satisfy the dog and with a snuff, she lay her head back between her paws and closed her eyes. "I just hope I'm wrong about what's going to happen when I go back...." Before long...Kiri who's only purpose being up was thinking, found herself back in that twilight place, her head still leaned against the sill, legs crooked under her in the bay window. It was there she'd remain till morning. |
[how can I reply long to that? >.>]
In her sleep, Winry rolled over and took a small light grip of Kiris pillow and smiled. "Sister...." she mumbled... |
Sunlight filtered in through the window, and Kiri rolled over onto her side, trying to stay in her blissful place where darkness was her friend, and rest came easy.
"Uhnnnn...." She grumbled, finally relenquising to the disturbing sun. "I'm up, I'm up already...what more do you want?" She stretched, her back popping where she'd lain in an awkward position all night, and she hopped down from the window. She smiled looking over at Winry. "Morning." She whispered not wanting to wake the older girl if she wasn't already. |
Winry opened a wearily, heavy eye lid to look at Kiri, and mumbled:
"wha ti...ish itt?" she said, letting her eye lids fall to meet each other again. The wet spot on her pillow indicated she had been drolling for quite some time all night, dreaming of only things she would know of. |
"Nothing." She said with a smile.
"It's just morning...go back to sleep." She began getting dressed leaving her nightclothes on the back of Winry's chair. |
Her eye was half open when she mumbled again:
"What are you doing? Come back to sleep, it's only the crack of dawn.." |
Kiri paused her shirt halfway over her head.
"I know....but I couldn't sleep." She pulled the shirt all the way on and donned her cap. "If I can't sleep I might as well get up right?" |
"Well where are you going then?" She lifted herself up the best she could and looked down at her.
"Not leaving me, are you?" |
Kiri looked over, her head cocked.
"Why would I do that?" She asked smiling. "You're......going back with me to Central in a day or so aren't you?" |
She sat all the way up and rubbed her eyes, crossing her legs and looked to her.
"Yea, why, you wanna go sooner?" |
Her head shook violently back and forth.
"No t-that's fine!" There was no way that she was speeding up that trip anytime soon. "I don't want to be a bother.....so.....whenever you're ready." She smiled. Preferably later rather than sooner....the longer I can stay away from that Mustang man the better. |
Winry nodded.
"Youre right, the sooner we reunite you with your family, the better! Maybe we should ask Al if he wants to come along too?" She stood up and stretched, pulling off her night shirt and rummaging though her drawers. "It'll be fun, its been a while since I've been to central." |
Kiri's heart dropped into her stomach.
I hate you Life. She thought. "...Sure I'll.....go ask him..." She turned to leave, pulling her hat on tightly over her head. Al was in the kitchen already with Pinako, as she was just starting to cook breakfast. "Well, well, the new guest arrives." She smiled warmly. "Aren't you just the stray cat." "Funny you should mention..Stray Granny." Al started. "Al..." Kiri pulled up a chair beside him and sighed. "Winry...wants to take me back to Central...and...we were wondering if you wanted to go...too.." "Oh my...you two are leaving so soon?" Pinkao sighed. "It would seem so.." Kiri hopped down and bowed. "Thank you for letting me stay here last night." "Nonsense, Alphonse explained everything this morning. So there's no need to thank me." She nodded and looked back to Al. "Sure, it's been a while since I've seen Ed and Shiba. They should still be in Central, so yeah I'll go with you." He smiled and left to go pack a bag...he didn't know if he'd be staying longer, so it was best to be prepared. "Mmm...." Kiri sighed looking after him. "What's wrong?" "Nothing....just...thinking." "Don't want to go back do you?" "?!" "Oh you can't fool this old woman dearie, but I wouldn't worry too much about things if I were you...Winry and Alphonse are two of the best kids to be traveling with...as long as you stick with them...you'll be just fine." Kiri pondered this a moment, then smiled and nodded. "You're right...Thank you." |
*has a seizure form long post*
After packing her bag, Winry headed down the steps in a white, long sun dress, her hair tied up. She dropped her bag beside the door and went to the kitchen. "Hi Granny. How was the automail convention?" She plopped down in the seat at the kitchen table and tapped her foot. "Did Alphonse say he was coming too?" I wore this just for him... |
Pinako looked back.
"It was just fine dear. You really should have went with me." Kiri nodded. "Yeah, he's going. He'll probably be back down here in a few minutes." True enough, Alphonse came back down the stair carrying a bag on his shoulder. "Ready.." He started, he paused in the doorway and smiled "That dress looks nice Winry." He set his bag down and took a seat opposite of her. |
Winry Nodded.
"I know, but I wanted to spend time with---" she looked to him as he came down the steps. "Good morning Alphonse." She immediately blushed after his comment and she smiled at him warmly. "thank you.." her heart raced within her chest. "Well, shall we go?" She looked to the clock. It was only 8:30 am, but the sooner the better. |
