Draco had wanted to flinch from his mother’s hand, but he did not for two reasons. One: He didn’t want to hurt her feelings, because he loved her dearly. Two: He had been avoiding all physical contact with people for awhile now, and as much as he wanted to continue doing so, it had a warming effect. Though his eyes couldn’t help but meet the floor, and they stayed that way until he reached the kitchen and he sat down on one of the benches. His head hung between his legs, as he used his arms to support it for a few moments. ”He was supposed to be back by now...” He said, mostly to himself. Running his hands through his shaggy blonde hair. He no longer took the time or effort to slick it back, though it could be easily done by magic – though, he no longer saw a point. Ever since Potter took his wand, his replacement had not been the best.

Sitting up straight, he looked around the kitchen. He was used to meals being prepared for him by house elves. Things like choosing what he would be eating, and preparing for dinner had never been on the top of his daily to do list. Yet another indicator of how much things had changed. He supposed it could be a simple pleasure... So he nodded to his mother. ”We’ll find something.” He assured her.

His eyes darkened when his father littered the doorway. With his hands crossed, and his chin resting on them he couldn’t help but glare. His father still sounded as sarcastic and unappreciative as ever. Sucks to his Daily Prophet. Standing up, he pulled out his wand and tapped his head. His hair changed color, and his face changed to look more childish. If they were going out, they had to take precautions... but there was only so much you could do without a poly juice potion. If he happened to see anyone he knew, they would probably be able to recognize him. ”Mother,” He said, nodding as he walked past her into the entrance way.

It had been a good idea to get the giant out of the Great Hall, because as soon as they were in her office, he broke down blubbering. So after offering him a shot of fire whiskey, Minerva assigned him some extra game keeping duties to keep his mind off things. Looking at the time, she let out a tired sigh. She had to hand out the schedules and get ready for class... Honesty, she didn’t know how Dumbledore did it all.

Starting with the first years, she made her rounds until she stopped at the golden trio, to which it seems another Weasley was now included. It seemed like yesterday they were young kids, now they were heroes, and as it seemed lovers as well? Passing out their schedules, she smiled down at them. ”Still aspiring to be an Auror I see Potter.” She said, examining his schedule. It seemed almost expected, but at the same time she couldn’t help but wonder after all he had been through why he would choose to still involve himself so greatly in the dark arts.
