Blair smirked looking at Ian, as he fixed his hair quickly. "Oh no you don't want to let Lucy cook. Him near fire causes bad things to happen..." The two friends shared a knowing look. Blair knew about Lucius being a dragon, it was unavoidable they were friends since Lucius was in preschool or at least his human form was. The day had started cool but around recess their was a random heat spike. Since that day Blair knew and swore himself into secrecy. He did everything and anything he could to make sure no one found out.

Lucy gave a soft chuckle, "Yeah I'd rather not burn down the house…"

Ian noticed look. it really seemed that something strange was going on here. He said, "Alrighty then. I'll go cook, but i warn you...." he told them grandiose tales about his cooking and the thousands of people that had either died, or been genetically mutated because of it. However, when he came back, he had prepared, a seemingly endless amount of sushi, delicious burgers, and grilled cheese sandwiches. indicating the last two he said, "Those are for plebeians who don't like sushi." With that, he set out chopsticks and plates, and began to dig in.

The pair laughed as they said thank you and began to quickly dig into their food. "This is really good!" Lucius said merrily as he took seconds.

Waggling his fingers at Lucius he said, "Beware, for you have already ingested enough of my toxin- i mean food to kill a full sized dragon!" The he fell back and laughed really hard. After he could breathe again, he grabbed some more and asked, "You two want to continue after this, or do you want to goof off?"

Lucius laughed along with Ian, but Blair instantly dropped his fork, "Uh...no...I'm uh going to go home...my parents don't like me out so late..." Blair said as he stood up taking his bag, "See you guys tomorrow..." He said as he waved and left quickly.

Lucius frowned a bit as Blair left but put on a smile on his face when he looked at Ian. He didn't taste any poison so he wasn't too worried.

Ian looked a Lucy and said seriously, "You were holding back weren't you? " He really wanted a challenge, and this boy seemed like the only one who'd be one. He'd fought hundreds of people in combat with swords, and Lucius had come the closest to hitting him. Granted, he'd been going easy on him, but he still felt like it was too easy. "Come on, one more time. This time, neither of us holds back.... What do you say?"

Lucius looked at him and thought for a moment weighing his options. True he was holding back a bit. However he was scared that if he gave it his all he would change in front of Ian and accidentally turn Ian into an Iceberg or something. After a while he sighed, "Okay...I'll give you another bout..." He said looking at Ian, "A true fight..."

Ian jumped up with excitement. He'd been getting bored with all theses bouts. He looked at Lucius and said, "Now, since you're not holding back, neither shall I. First to get a touch wins. Ready?" Then they were off. Lucius was goo, Ian had to give him that, but really, he was still no match. Ian sighed. He'd been hoping to finally be given a challenge, but it seemed it was not to be. With an almost lazy flick, Ian knocked Lucius' bokoto across the room, and lightly tapped him on the throat saying, "Dead." Ian quickly packed everything up, and said, "So what now? You want me to go home or what?"

"No...no you don't have to go..." He said thoughtfully, "Why don't we just hang...and we can get to know each other..." He smiled softly as Lucy sank down into a sitting position.

"Yeah sure." Ian plopped down. "So, how long have you lived here? This town seems to be a lot bigger than i thought it would."

"Oh I've lived here for as long as I can remember. Sometimes we did leave for a couple months and visit family in Russia, Sweden, Norway, Romania, Hungaria, or Asia but mostly I've lived here for 16 years." He smiled.

Ian was impressed, "Wow, you're family is all over the place." Ian tried not to think about his family. "Well, lets see..... I'm American, but i grew up in Japan... Sorry, i don't have much else to me other than that." He laughed, and smiled at Lucius.

"Its fine I love Japan! I saw the Cherry Blossom Festival once…" Lucius chuckled as he though of a technique his uncle taught him, "Hmm what's your favorite color mines ice blue…" He said. His uncle once said to learn a dragon hunter as best you could by asking trivial questions.

"Green," Ian replied immediately, "The color of life, love, and hope" Then he rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed, "It sounds corny, but if you think about it it's true. Plants general are green, and can represent life. Love can bloom like a flower in the green of spring, and when you're trapped in the white world of winter, you're hoping for the green of spring to rescue you from your misery."

Lucius tilted his head thoughtfully, "Green always means a struggle for me…" He said in a soft whisper as if he didn't mean to say it outloud. He blush a bit which actually turned his cheeks not red but ashy-gray almost like a sickly blue. This was of course because Lucy's body could raise it's tempature (unless he was deathly sick, or in the height of a great excitement) only lower it.

Ian noticed the blush, and several puzzle pieces clicked into place. Why the house was so cold. Why the parents were gone. Why his relatives all lived in cold areas. The comment about green meaning struggle....... His eyes narrowed, "So tell me, where are your parents? somewhere cold I hope."

"No I think their in Aussie or India…" Lucy said thinking a bit he furrowed his brows as he thought, "can't remember really, might have been the Alps but I doubt it my mom hates dogs Saint Benards are the worst in her opinion…"

"The alps huh.....?" Ian said slowly. He reached for his pack, but stopped. Did he really want to kill Lucy? No, he didn't, but he had no choice... Ian sat there, his hand on his pack, caught in indecision. He picked it up and stood up. he said to Lucius in a strange voice, "I'll see you tomorrow Lucy." On his way home, he argued with himself what he wanted to do. Could he kill this boy he'd become friends with? He obviously knew where his master was... but if he let him live, he and his family would continue to terrorize the city.... How could he make such an impossible decision? When he got home, he fell into a fitful sleep.

Lucy felt a panic and anger fill him, but he remained still till he was sure Ian was gone. Once he was sure Ian had left he let out a loud roar letting his glamor fall and releasing all his anger when he was done he retuned to his human form his body was shaking with worry. The room was filled with about a foot of snow. When he had fully calmed down he grabbed his cell phone and hurriedly dialled his Uncle's number.

The next day, Ian stayed at home. He didn't want to face Lucius. He wasn't sure what he'd decide yet. He held his phone in front of him, the number predialled.... all he had to do was hit send and he could leave...... Ian gave a cry of anger. Why did it have to be so complicated? He'd trained for this his whole life. He'd even killed two dragons already. Why was this case hard.....? Try as he might, he just couldn't associate Lucy with those giant lizards of death he'd seen already. He grabbed his sword and armor, and got ready to go pay him a visit. Whatever the outcome, Ian felt that his life would change forever because of this.

Little did Ian know but Lucy didn't go to school either that day he spent the day at home frantically waiting for his Uncle to show up like he said he would. He was doing a lot of pacing in his house and couldn't seem to calm down. All he could do was wait. Either for his Uncle the ex-Dragon Hunter to show up or Ian to...

Ian showed up at Lucy's house, and leaned against the front door. A few people walking by looked at him funny because of the armor, but nobody said anything. As he waited for Lucy to come home, He finally came to a decision. He would find out if he was the dragon terrorizing the area. If not, he wouldn't kill him. If he was though....... Ian sighed. It would be a long wait until school was over, and waiting didn't help.

Lucy looked warily at the door as he sensed some one at the door. He took a deep breath as he went to go answer it. He knew it wouldn't be his Uncle which meant it was Ian. He shuddered a bit just before he opened it.

When Lucy opened the door, Ian was totally surprised. He fell into the entrance way with a thud. Slowly standing up, Ian said, "I have a few questions for you. Before that though, I need you to swear to the truth. I mean take an oath." Ian recalled that dragons, once they had given their word to do something, must keep it, or else they'd die.

Lucius looked at him with narrowed eye thinking, "That depends...are you only going to ask me questions and nothing else?" He asked his eyes dark as looked at Ian.
