((So how do we start?))

((i figured that you'd start with something like an average day, and so would i, then i come to hunt you down or something, then you approach me as a human and interrogate me as to why i hate dragon so, then we talk and stuff and we can go from there))

((like a human day at school for my guy in his human form and when he's in the bathroom his tail slips out or something and your guy sees it?))

((we could do that, i was actually thinking it would be a bit before we met each other, and when we did meet, i didn't know you were a dragon and we became friends THEN i found out you were a dragon.))

((ah okay that will work....i have to go now but i'll be back at 9 BE ON!!!))

Ian was walking along a dusty highway. As he came across people, his sword earned him funny looks. Those looks turned into fear as people noticed his many scars, and his face. It was his eyes that caused them to flee. His eyes had the loos of both someone who had seen the world burn in hell's fire, and the look of someone who reveled in carnage. The few people who talked to him however, found that he was a nice enough guy, and that he was on his way to his new home. He had transferred schools. When they asked why he hadn't taken a bus or something he shrugged and replied, "I wanted the exercise." When he reached his new home, Ian walked in and placed all of his stuff in the hallway. Walking upstairs, he began to organize his room. Looking out the window, he noticed his new school. It was huge compared to his old one. Ian grinned. One of his teachers favorite sayings came back to him. 'The bigger the challenge, the greater the honor when overcome.' And overcome he would.

Lucius sighed as he stretched his wings from the safety of his basement. He lived alone during the warm months. He wasn't old enough to migrate with the pack so he stayed by himself in his parents mansion until fall came. It didn't bother him much except when the temperature got into the eighties. Then he had to just stay indoors with the AC up high. Being an Ice Dragon high temperatures could be fatal.

After a while of stretching Lucius returned to his human form yawning a bit as he decided to walk to school today. It would be good exercise since it was actually a cooler day. He might as well take advantage of it.

Jogging the long way to school, Ian was lost in thought. He had heard that a family of Ice dragons was in the area, and he was supposed to hunt them down. However, it seemed a bit warm for them. That, and there were no places cool enough for them to survive for any amount of time. Short periods sure, why not, but longer than a week? no. He was so lost in thought that he didn't even notice the other boy coming out of his house until he had jogged right into him and they both fell down. Ian jumped up and help the other boy to his feet saying, "I'm so sorry, i didn't even notice you." Then holding out his hand he said, My name's Ian Braveheart, yours?"

Lucius rubbed his head then put out his own, "It's all right...I'm Lucius Snakara..." He said with smirk as he stood dusting off his pant legs. He sighed running a hand through his navy blue hair. "You must be new eh?" He said grinning.

Rubbing the back of his head, Ian replied with a smirk,"Something like that. So you go to that school?" Ian said pointing, Before Lucius could answer however, a large man came up with a knife and said deeply "alright rich boy, you know the drill." Ian stepped forward and said, "And what, exactly, are you doing?" The man turned and pulled a knife, Without even thinking, Ian lunged forward, grabbed the knife, and knocked out the man. Stepping back Ian sighed, "You'd think thugs'd learn by now. Don't mess with someone with more scars than them."

Lucius smirked, "No...the human race is generally stupid and doesn't tend to learn from it's mistakes....I mean history repeats its self right?" He asked with a wide grin, "Poor guy...he tries the same thing everyday usually I just give him money...it isn't worth dirtying my hands..." Lucius said with a laugh.

Laughing loudly, Ian said, "You talk as if you weren't a human." Looking surreptitiously at his companion, Ian decided that he wasn't a dragon. He didn't have any of the telltale signs of being a dragon. No horns. No tail. No wings. You'd be surprised how often dragons forgot to hide those kind of things. "Well," Ian said, "Looks like I've made my first friend, only if you don't mind of course."

Lucius didn't even panic when Ian said that. His disguise was perfect always, plus he loved looking hot in his human form so he literally spent hours perfecting his look. Lucius smirked, "Nah I'm just quoting a history book....but truth be told I'm actually a Zombie imposing as a human in order to kill and destroy the human race...." Lucius let out a fake evil laugh that ended in a coughing fit.

Patting his new friend on the back, Ian chuckled and said "Well, Mr. Zombie, it seems that your evil laugh needs some improvement. And besides, speaking from experience, zombies aren't anything like people think they are like. All they are is a person brought back to life. The only difference with them as a zombie, and them alive, is that a zombie is already dead." Ian began to walk his friend to school. All the way there, Ian kept up his stories about mythical creatures, and beast galore and the brave knights who slew, or didn't, the beast, or didn't and died. When they got to school, Ian pulled out his scedual, and saw he had room 113, Turning to Lucius he asked, "What home room you got?

Lucius nodded and listened. Resisting the urge to laugh at some of the things Ian said about mythical creatures amused him. And some of the things he said that were dead on and secretive knowledge had him a bit worried. So he would definitely keep Ian around. "113...." Lucius said without thinking, he was in the same homeroom for the last three years. He yawned a bit, "You?" He asked.

With a grin Ian replied, "All right! that's my homeroom too!" Turning, he walked down the hallway saying over his shoulder, "i'll be there, don't wait up for me." When he reached the principal's office, he let the smile fade from his face. Walking in, he asked to see the principal, and waited. when the principal let him in Ian said, "Okay let's cut to the chase. You know why im here. So lets talk business......"

Lucius flashed him a peace sign as he continued to head to his homeroom.

The principal nodded and looked at him, "Yes....um well how could I be of help?"

Sighing with frustration, Ian said, "You don't have to pretend to be ignorant of your.... infestation." Pulling his sword from his pack he said, "Paladin Dragon's tooth reporting. I'm officially beginning my extermination of any and all dragons in the area. From what you've described, it seems that you have frost or ice dragons. If there is anywhere in this school that is consistently below 45 degrees, i suggest either heating it up, or placing surveillance so I can deal with them. I will be roaming the school looking on my own throughout the day. If you see them, don't let on that you know, just inform me and I'll deal with it." Standing, he finished, "Just treat me like you would any other student, and the whole operation should run rather smoothly." Ian got a pass from the secretary, and headed to homeroom. When he got there, he sat down next to Lucius and asked "Did i miss anything important?"

"Just the weather...It's going to be 90 tomorrow....Hockey practice is already cancelled....since it's getting warm so quickly the district is ending the Hockey season early..." Lucius sighed. The Ice rink was the only cold place in the school and during the summer they turned the rink into a pool. "Which sucks we were going to make it to States this year...and then nationals..."

"Yeah we were Lucy!" A boy near him complained friendly punching Lucius in the arm. "Summer sucks! It's way to hot to practice....and street hockey is lame!" Lucius smirked amused by his teamate.

holding his hand out to the new boy, Ian said, "Hi, my name's Ian, yours" Hearing the boy's reply, he said, "Well, if you hate street hockey that much, I'm sure i could find an ice rink. Do you have a list of activities around? i think I'd like to sign up for something. When the boy pointed to a flyer on the wall, Ian walked over, scanning the list, he saw several thing that seemed interesting, but nothing extraordinary. Then one item caught his eye. Grabbing the appropriate sheet, Ian walked over to his desk ans slammed a pair of sign out sheets in front of him and Lucius. "Since your sport got cancelled, why don't you join me in this one." Across the top, was the kendo team's slogan. grinning, Ian said brightly "You might say i was made for this sport. I could teach you easy. whadda ya say?"

The other boy's name happened to be Blair DeWinter. ((I'll be using him as a side character))

Lucius scowled as he thought, "Uh...I don't know....Kendo is highly active....and I have a blood condition...anemic....so I'll have to see...I can only deal with hockey since I'm the goalie...." He frowned as he thought, "I....I could give it a shot though...."

Ian grinned "That's the spirit! and don't worry, you shouldn't bleed too badly, the padding and protection does it's job well. If, you want, I'll come over after school and teach you." Even thought he acted happy, something seemed odd. This Lucius boy played hockey, a sport in the freezing cold, and had a blood problem. Dragon often claimed this, but only because if they bled, their blood would burn anything it touched. Except for the frost and ice dragons. theirs froze. shaking off the feeling, Ian continued smiling, This morning he'd already determined that Lucius wasn't a dragon. and he hadn't been wrong yet.

Lucius thought about it for a while going through what he had in his house that might give him away, "Yeah that could work....Blair you wanna come too?" He asked his friend who nodded.

"Sure..."

Lucius smiled, "Alright we could go right after school then..." He said nodding, "Just warning you the heater is broken in the recreation room...the repairman is on vacation so he won't be back till the end of April." Lucius grumbled, "Thankfully we don't use the room that much so it doesn't matter..."
