EJ looked at the doorway, confused. He was unsure if that was an okay to try to help her, and also confused on why a Kitsune was on guard duty. A female voice now came from the door. He smiled once again at her kindness. He must admit that this is a first for him. He has never really been treated kindly before. He sat on the bed for a moment, playing with the sheets, not really knowing what to do next. The smell of the sweet blood was wearing on his will. Curious of the state in which the, apparently, female elf, he took a quick look into her mind to see what her conscious state was. He received blurred visions of this and that, a tale tale sign of one who was asleep. He exited the mind just as quickly, not wanting to see too much. He wanted to help but he could just imagine how it could go. The girl wakes up only to find a strange man in her room doing god knows what. Perhaps he will ask Yuuichi for a proper introduction later. With all the emotions rolling around as well as being in the sunlight as much as he did, fatigue finally hit EJ. He took a deep sigh and felt the bed. It was soft and it has been a while since he laid on a bed. He undressed and curled into the blankets, feeling the soft fabric on his skin. His eyes slowly closed and his body relaxed, finally falling asleep.

Yuuichi turns to look at Kiya, his emotions still a wreck. "Kiya....I'm sorry that you saw that side of me. I'm usually not like that unless something or someone unnerves me. EJ happened to do just that simply by his presence." He turns away from her and starts cleaning up from cooking earlier, trying to distract himself, afraid he may say or do something to hurt her.

((O.O.C.: Going to step outside for a moment or two, but I will return, not sure for how long though. ))

There was hurt in his stance, he didn't want to show it to her but she could almost feel it coming off of him, "everyone has a side of themselves they aren't proud of and you did apologize right?" she asked attempting a smile, although with his back turned he couldn't see it. She wanted to calm him, comfort him somehow closing the space that separated them easily she wrapped her arms around his waist, her cheek resting on his back, hugging him from behind. "you did something you didn't like right? Well you apologized for it, what use will it be just to constantly beat yourself up for it Yuu-kun? What purpose will that serve?"

"Because even though I have put down my weapons, the lives I have taken will never be made right. Kiya, I'm a former mercenary, Angil doesn't know that but her brother does. Not a day goes by that I don't think about everything I have done wrong. The innocent people that I wish I did not kill." He relaxes slightly at her touch, his body wanting to turn and kiss her, but his mind refusing to allow it. "I could apologize for everything I have done, but that doesn't mean those people will ever live again. Once the damage is done, its there, for good. Nothing can change that. Words are powerless things."

"Other than what I told you of killing those of our own kind, I used to allow myself to work as a hired sword. Ranging from being a simple bodyguard to an assassin. All that mattered to me was if the pay was right." He sighs a bit, melting into Kiya's embrace, never fully knowing what something like this felt like until now. He goes to speak again, but stops himself, unable to find the words. After a few moments, he gives in to his desire and turns around in her arms so that her face is against his chest instead of his back. He gently wraps his arms around her, hugging her back. "Happiness is what is standing before me now, embracing me. But I can't help myself from questioning after all I have done, what right do I have to be happy when I have stolen it from so many others?"

When the door opened again revealing another new visitor every muscle with in Sofia automatically tensed even further. Oh no what Rodger’s men had finally found her?! Gulping she did her best to try and slow the rapid thumping of her heart once she realized it wasn’t one of the men people she least wanted to see. Oh thank goodness….she didn’t have anything to fear. Well she did but the leader of her fears hadn’t just walked through the doors so that alone was enough reason to relax right? A soft squeak escaped as the new visitor placed a hand on her shoulder. Even if the new visitor wasn’t male, Sofia still didn’t feel entirely comfortable being touched and her wide eyed expression showed just how weirded out she was by that. Her mouth open and closed uselessly for a few minutes before she managed to get out reply, ”T-thank you…” she murmured softly her gaze dropping down before looked up nervously biting her lower lip.

She couldn’t help but feel a tad bit guilty for thank the girl for her protection as she watched the stranger turn and start verbally abusing Jaden. At least she thought it was Jaden. She didn’t even know if it was the same kid from her past so why did she feel guilty for taking someone protection? He had after all been tormenting the vampire male behind her…despite her fear of men she was finding it rather hard to be afraid of him. He just looked so vulnerable and scared…in all honestly he looked as frightened as she did and it struck a chord with in her. Maybe…just maybe all men aren’t as bad as I originally thought..’ she thought dazedly as she watched the strange girl defend her. It wasn’t until she’d noticed that the vampire was no longer behind her that she let out a soft squeak and retracted her thought. Clasping a hand over mouth to keep any other sounds of fear escaping she quickly backed up trying. Ok she took that back! He’d moved and she hadn’t even seen it! True he hadn’t tried to hurt her but the intention, the possibility of him trying to attack her was still very much capable of happening!

When the terrified vampire spoke up begging Jaden not to allow them to hurt him Sofia let out a soft nearly hysterical giggle beforeshe quickly muffled the sound a delicate blush coating her cheeks as she looked at Virsat. Gaining control of her laughter she removed her hand before speaking up. ”Hurt you? W-why are you afraid of us? If anyone has the right to be scared out of their wits its me or my protector here. You move faster than both of us.” she pointed out before pausing and nervously biting her lips again before she continued speaking eyeing Virsat warily. ”But…if it makes you feel better I promise not to hurt you…as long as you don’t hurt me. Does that sound like a fair trade?” she asked giving him a sweet hesitant smile before she held out one tiny hand to shake on the deal. Even though she’d spoken up and defended the vampire there was no denying the fact that she was terrified as she held her hand out to him to shake. ”I’m s-sorry. I forgot my manners. I’m Sofia. It’s a pleasure to meet you Mr….” she trailed off meaningfully giving him a chance to introduce himself. As scared as she was of him she was still trying to branch out. Why? She had no clue…ok maybe she did have a vague idea. She’d heard somewhere that the best way to handle yours fears was to confront them face on. Considering she’d always thought of herself as the fearless type she’d never considered let alone tried confronting those things that she found less than savory. Until now…in light of recent events she’d decided to try this tactic. She doubted she’d ever completely trust a man again but she was trying. She couldn’t just hide under her covers hoping she’d grow out of her fear. It was something she had to handle on her own. And this was the first step. It wasn’t so hard even if she did feel a bit dizzy. Actually she didn’t just feel dizzy, she felt like her knees were about to fall out from under her. She’d never known just how powerful fear could be until now. The trembling in her hand had visibly spread from her extended hand to the rest of her tiny frail body as she looked up at Virsat swallowing nervously. She wished he’d hurry up, if he left her waiting much longer she might change her mind completely and take off running in the opposite direction. It was a very tempting idea but she wasn’t going to do that. She couldn’t give up yet!

Jaden had just opened his mouth to extend some sort of greeting to his childhood friend when the front door banged open causing him to startle slightly. Dimly the thought that maybe he should move away from the entrance crossed his mind but he never had a chance to follow through with that thought as the new visitor took one look at the clearly terrified Sofia and Virsat before turning on him and laying into him. His one good eye widened slightly and his ears tilted forward listening to her speak. He was shocked to say the least and his expression openly showed that before becoming mildly insulted. ”What?! Me, threaten her?! Why would I do that ?! Seriously I might be a lot of things but one thing I’m not is a jerk! Well…not a complete jerk. I wouldn’t stoop so low as to threaten a girl. Just because my parental figure believed it was nice to treat women like trash doesn’t mean I was raised the same.” he blustered his eye narrowing slightly. Sheesh the things people thought when they jumped to conclusions! Hearing Sofia thank the girl his mouth dropped open. Was she serious? ”What? Why are you thanking her? I’m not threatening you…come on Sofia! Don’t you remember me? You know the weird gawky teenaged boy you always hung around with?” he prompted softly. Was it possible? She’d really forgotten him?

Taking in everyones dark glares-most of which were aimed at him- he let out a low sigh of aggravation. Ok clearly he was going to have to clarify a few things. The first being that he wasn’t threatening Sofia or Virsat, and then…well he didn’t know where he was going from there but he’d cross that bridge when he got to it. ” I know what this looks like but I’m not threatening Sofia or Virsat-“ he stopped his eye widening slightly as he noticed Virsat had moved suddenly. One minute he’d been in front of Jaden and now he was behind him. A small part of Jaden was telling him he should feel concerned about this but the larger, louder much uhh..naughtier (XD) part of him couldn’t help but enjoy this particular position. Hey! You couldn’t blame him, he was a cat and he liked to play. It’d been ages since he’d had a good play mate. True he’d had a few romps but those were child play compared to what this one could turn into…His naughty thoughts were disrupted by Virsat’s soft whispers causing a delicate shiver to trail though him his tail twitching softly in mild annoyance and some other emotion before he forced it to still. ”Why does everyone seem to be under the impression that I’m mad? I’m not mad, If I was mad someone here would be showing off a few well deserved scratches. I don’t know you guys but I don’t see anyone here baring wounds of any sort from myself. Do you?” he asked one eyebrow quirked upwards in mild curiosity. ”Back to my earlier statement….I’m not threatening anyone. I don’t believe in threats. If I was going to cause anyone harm I would have went ahead and done it. Second: I don’t treat women that way. I might be a jerk but I can have my moments where I come across as somewhat charming. And lastly, I’m not trying to start a fight with Virsat; I was trying to get him to stand up for himself. Nothing more and nothing less. Although clearly that didn’t work but hey you can’t blame a guy for trying can you?” he asked with a soft lazy yawn.

Was it just him or did it seem like things were finally beginning to settle down? True most of the drama had been stirred up by his efforts but it wasn’t like he’d been trying to foist the peaceful atmosphere of the tavern into uncontrollable chaos. He’d just been trying to liven things up a bit. Clearly he’d done his job and more from the looks of things. He didn’t bother hiding his look of shock as Sofia made a deal with Virsat or tried to. She looked petrified of the male vampire and yet she still seemed determined to get him to trust her. Why? He warranted it had something to do with her change from the joyful girl he remembered but even so he still had so many questions.. Was he ever going to get all the answers? He would just not right now. Those questions would have to wait a bit.

Regina was still sipping her daiquiri while the two talked amongst themselves. Suddenly Yuuchi got really angry at EJ for no reason she could sense it amongst the two of them. Suddenly this tiny and adorably fox showed up and rubbed between EJ's leg. "what a cute fox"not wanting to touch it for fear it would run away Regina just let it be. The fox then jumped in EJ's lamp and she watched it with her eyes. Suddenly EJ got up and had left looking furious about what Yuuchi said she almost stood up but Yuuchi had already left to apologize. She was sure that was not her doing at all.

"Innocents may have a right to happiness, but it must end somewhere. I have stolen in from too many people to be in the tiniest sense, allowed such a thing." He looks down at her, softly kissing her on the top of the head. "Most of the people were not innocent, as you believe. But there are some that make me wonder should I have taken the contract on making them my deader or not. Even the ones that deserved it, there were times that were rather unfortunate where witnesses had to be silenced. They committed no crime other than witnessing one."

He ruffles her hair a bit, smiling softly at her. "I will try, that is the best I can tell you on it. I just....I wanted you to know this stuff, but not this way. Something about that man, because of the nature of a demon in him set me on edge, and because of that, you saw a side of me I have tried to run away from. I try to be good-natured towards people, but it doesn't always work." He closes his eyes as he slowly lets go of her, wondering if this will be looked at as bad. "I'm sure though, that now you know this stuff of me, you probably have a little bit of fear of me, correct? I understand if you wish to be no where near me anymore. And I respect it if that is the choice you wish to make."

After watching her walk away, his hand raised to his cheek in a bit of surprise from her kiss, Yuuichi lowers his head. If only she knew the truth....this tavern was made using money that I had from the blood of innocents. But if I were to tell her, it would probably destroy her idea of who I am.... He turns back around and starts cleaning up in the kitchen, organizing his stock and doing other mindless tasks, trying to get his mind off of what had happened earlier.

Yuuichi's ears twitch a little bit as Kiya sets her dishes in the sink. An expression of concern makes its way onto his face as he notices she didn't so much as attempt to speak to him, causing his shoulder to slump a little. Yup...I scared her....figures. She was cute to, but probably will never want anything more to do with me, after all I'm nothing more than a killer. His ears twitch again as he notices instead of leaving back towards the common area, she left out the back door. Should I follow her? What if something happens? I will never forgive myself. Setting his supplies down, he shifts into his fox form and makes his way out of the tavern.

Keeping his body low and stepping lightly, Yuuichi follows Kiya's scent, trying to keep a bit behind, telling himself he is just keeping an eye on her to make sure she doesn't get hurt. After a while of following her, he hears a splash in the nearby pond and hides himself in the bushes, barely peeking out to see what is going on. He quickly back up, embarrassed as he notices Kiya swimming in the pond, her clothing laid out on the rocks. Oh crap....what if she saw me?! His stupidity causes him to slowly creep back into the bush, barely sticking his head out the other side and watching for a bit longer. God....I'm such a lecher. If she sees me she will probably kill me. Oh well, I can say I died happy. Such a beautiful woman, why would she care about a killer like me?

Yuuichi stands in the bushes, just watching, knowing he should turn away. He finds himself to be entranced as he watches her, not hearing the sound of a snake making its way up behind him. He tilts his head a bit as he watches her lay down, completely lost in the sight of her. He suddenly yelps in pain, hopping out of the bushes towards Kiya as the snake bites him on the butt. He makes his way towards her, his backside on fire from the bite, not thinking about her recognizing him and her being undressed.

With the sound of Kiya's voice and her words berating him, Yuuichi turns away from her, a small limp starting to form as he loses feeling on the affected leg. "I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to spy, I mean it. I was just worried about you. I found it awkward that when you left, you went out the back door instead of back to the common room. Please forgive me...." He heads back towards the tavern, sure that he has destroyed anything from ever happening between him and Kiya, no longer thinking about the fact he can't feel one of his legs. Yup....she definitely hates me now. Not that I blame her...stupid snake, made me get caught. Wait a sec....what kind of snake was that?!?! His mind starts racing as he fully recognizes the snake must have had some strong venom since he is losing feeling. Not good....not good...

As soon as she sets him down inside the tavern, without thinking, Yuuichi snaps at her purely out of instinct. He hops off the counter and skitters towards his room. Once inside he starts scanning his room, looking for a box. Once he sees it he shifts back into his human form, a little blood trickling down his left leg. "Dammit, how could I be so stupid as to let me guard down." He opens the chest and pulls out the book inside of it, skimming quickly through it, searching through the variety of snakes in the area. Finding the type of snake that bit him, he relaxes a little, slowing down as he rummages through the box, pulling out a mortar and pestle along with a few plants. He takes the plants needed out of their jars and starts grinding them up into a paste. "At least it isn't known to kill anything the size of a human, but if I was in my natural form much longer that could have been really bad."

After EJ had left for his room Regina decided to go and check on him.She had just finished her drink and slid off of the bar stool and landed gently on the floor. He did seem upset maybe its because of what he iswalking towards the room he headed into lightly. Regina knocked lightly on the door waiting for EJ to respond to her light knock.
