It was true, Angil didnt really think about why he liked being on the roof. Her cheeks turned red from embarrassment at the mention of a ladder. With a pout, she started to walk around the building. Sure enough, a ladder was located at the back of the tavern. Angil climbed the ladder, her legs shaking a little. She didnt mind heights, but ladders were a different thing. Such little security on them. Once on the roof she calmed down a little. She crawled to the apex and sat down on it. looking at Yuuichi. Okay I'm up here now. Can you tell me what you know about whats going on? Why am I hearing voices and doing strange things? Her eyes veered off to look at the horizon. She liked that view a lot better than the sky. The sky was just too vast and unending. It made her feel uneasy.
Walking beside her as she gets on to of the roof, Yuuichi lays back down where he was when Angil sits. "To be honest Angil, I have known about this for a while. But I wanted so very badly to keep you innocent of it. That is part of why your brother sent you with me. He thought you would have a better chance of keeping your innocence near me than him. Something about bloodlines and such. But before I try to even explain this in a manner you can grasp, are you sure you really want to know? I mean, you will find out one way or another one day, but this is something that isn't going to be pleasant for you to think about." As he finishes speaking, Yuuichi sits up and looks Angil in the eye. And for the first time he can remember, he relaxes his guard enough to allow the fear and sorrow he feels to actually show on his face for Angil, hoping that by seeing that, she may understand the depth of the problem that she is presenting him with.
Angil turns her gaze to him when he looks at her in the eye. The emotions that were visible on his face also reflected onto hers. She was afraid, but then again she was more afraid of her situation. If she didnt know what was going on then she will never know if she does something she doesnt remember again. Inside she could feel a since of excitement within her, but it wasnt her own. Its excited that you want to tell me. I know something is there. I just dont know what, but I need to know. I need to know what this is inside of me and what might happen with it.
Sighing heavily as he lays back down and stares at the sky, Yuuichi tries to get his mind to wrap around what he needs to tell Angil, his eyes starting to take on a distant look. "From what I have learned of both you and your family, in a time long past they made a pact with the creature you keep hearing. The easiest way for me to explain its existence is by saying it is the physical form of your rage. But unfortunately, that is not completely true. Your anger is what fuels the creature, along with its hatred of all around you. It is a very old being, and very dangerous. Why your family ever divulged into such arts I will never understand." He shakes his head a bit and brings himself back to reality, his breathing a bit ragged at his fear of the creature. "The one inside you would probably love nothing more than to kill me. But the problem it is having is that would require it to bloody your hands. It isn't easy for me to explain, but for it to do that it would cause a major problem with the pact." He slowly sits back up, controlling his breathing again and looks at Angil, worry in his eyes. "Lady Angil, do you remember when I called you 'special' in the past? I said it because in truth you are very special. You are unlike any of your race, so much so that it has made you very dangerous. Have you never noted that when you get overly angry, you never remember what happened? It is called Blood Rage, but instead of you going into that rage, the creature takes control and forces you to lose it completely. It is the only thing about you that terrifies me. Because every time it happens, it seems to take you longer to come back to us. And I fear that one day, you won't return, instead it will stay in control and you will be lost to us forever."
Angil looked at the horizon again. Fear creeped in her heart as Yuuichi told her story. The creature inside her getting more and more excited. It stayed there, almost like it just wanted to be a fly on the wall and watched what was going to happen. She sat silent for a moment, letting it all sink in. So this thing inside me, its here because of a pact. What kind of pact and why has it been around for so long. If it hates everything around, why doesnt it just leave? Also, if my rage is what gives it power, then why cant I just learn how to control it. Then it cant come out. So many more questions were running through her mind but she couldnt form them into coherent sentences.
Yuuichi lowers his head, shaking it, and closes his eyes. "That right there is what I wish we could protect. The innocence you have shown. But I know it would be futile to even try. The reason the pact was never rid of was because everything showing why they made it is forgotten. I doubt the one inside you even remembers now. But there is more to it than that. Your 'friend' is missing something valuable to him, without it, he will never be able to return to his home. And the day you learn to control your rage completely as to prevent it from being used against you is the day I get my wings as a full blown angel and all the murders I have committed get abolished." He laughs a little bit, trying to keep himself calm, struggling to keep himself from losing it in front of Angil. He continues to look away from her, hoping that if he does lose it she doesn't see it, sure that the effects could be catastrophic.
Angil lowers her head. She stands up and looks down at Yuuichi. A deep sigh escapes her. So, you are just going to give up? We might as well try something. Otherwise, She walks to the edge of the roof, looking at the ground. It would be better for everyone if I just jump off this roof. She turns back around, looking at Yuuichi. However, I'm not that fond of death and I'm not done causing you headaches. She tilted her head and smiled brightly at him. The smile was only slightly forced. She wanted to ease the uneasiness she could feel from Yuuichi. Have I ever showed you my trick? Watch this. She closed her eyes and gathered some energy. She turned around and held her hand out towards a tree standing near the tavern. She sent a pulse of energy down her arm and projected it at the tree, causing it to sway back just a bit. Enough to make it move, but not enough to damage it. She laughed lightly and looked back at Yuuichi. If I can learn to control that, then I must be able to learn to control my rage even a little.
Yuuichi bites his tongue to keep from saying anything harsh towards Angil at her remark of him giving up. He lifts his head to watch her and jumps as she walks to the edge of the roof. "Angil, No!" He starts to move toward her, but being careful not to push her off. He feels a wave of relief as she turns to look back at him. "That wasn't very funny Angil....." He walks over to stand beside her as she shows him her energy projection. "Part of me wants to say that the skill you just showed me and controlling your rage are two opposing sides....but I want to believe the other part. The part that is saying that Lady Angil might be on to something." He looks at her a smiles a little bit, his eyes starting to show a little hope in finding a way to help her.
Angil smiled back at him. Well I agree with your second half. Her eyes turned soft. I have to ask you something. Which is the constant? Light or dark? Is it the presence of darkness that makes the light seem bright? Or is it the Light that illuminates the darkness? I think darkness is the constant and it is the light that makes the difference. All are capable of evil but it is those who can control their own light that are strong enough to overcome the temptations. She smiled at him again, a bright smile. The words seemed too wise for one so young, but it was not the other creature that was speaking. Angil truly thought that and that is the reason for her trusting others so much. To her, no matter how evil a person is, they have the ability to be good. She often tried to lighten up the darkness in her father, but it never worked. He was too lost. Soooo....You think I can go to town now? There are still some things I wana do.
Eyes widening a bit at the paradox, Yuuichi tries to center his mind on whether it was Angil or the one inside her speaking to him. "Unfortunately, I see neither light nor darkness, only twilight. The path one chooses to walk is their own decision, be it for good or evil." He turns to look away from her and stares up at the sky, still a bit confused by the proclamation Angil had made. "I would prefer you not to go alone, but I know well enough to continue telling you no would only make you more likely to go by yourself. So promise me this, you will be quick about it, and detail the events to me when you return. Ok?"

As EJ slept, he dreamed of the time his brother was taken away. Two twin boys sat in the center of a giant library. The walls were lined from ceiling to floor with cherry wood bookcases, each filled completely with an array of books. The only lighting came from a large candler hanging from the ceiling. A few stacks of books surrounded the boys, all about the leaders of history. It was their assignment for the day. To study and analyze the tactics of previous leaders and develop a new way to rule using what they learned. The boys sat quietly. Suddenly a man fame through the door. Their father. He asked them to come to his study and to present their theory. The scene changed to dark study embellished with crimson accents. Each boy gave their presentation. EJ, presented a way that used manipulation and fear. His brother on the other hand, presented a way that used understanding and knowledge. When his brother was finished, their father stood from his desk, shaking his head in disapproval. Then some men came through the door, and grabbed EJ's brother and drug him out of the room...
NO!!!!!!!! EJ shot out of bed, breathing heavily. He took a deep breath as he collected his senses. He tilted his head back and forth, cracking it. He rose out of bed and his head ached from his thirst. Contemplating on what to do, he opens the window and jumps on the roof. He overheard Yuuichi's and the Elvin girl's conversation. Pardon me for interrupting. But if the girl wishes to go to town, then I will escort her. I need to go there as well. He smiled charmingly, wanting to help Yuuichi as much as he could. Angil jumped and almost slipped off the edge of the roof. She caught herself quickly and looked at the person who showed up on the roof. She smiled brightly at the proposal of this person escorting her to town. If this person was with her, then surely Yuuichi would feel better. She had to admit, she had no idea who this person was though. He has seen him once or twice but havent really talked to him. If it is okay with you Yuu-kun, then I dont have a problem. |
Yuuichi glares at EJ for a moment then rolls his eyes. "With the answer I'm about to give, I am either extremely foolish, or maybe I have just lost my mind. But yes EJ, take her with you and keep her safe. I'm not sure why I'm trusting you, when I have no reason to other than commonality in race. But when she returns, if I find so much as a single bite mark on her, I will flay your skin off your bones myself." He turns from the two and hops off the roof, not giving either the chance to respond to him.

"Oh yes your right sorry about falling asleep like thatRegina had slid off the stool and looked up["Its nice to meet you Vex I'm Regina"hearing that she had a room for Regina and was offering it as she was dead tired. "A room would indeed be nice".
Regina had spoken to her, but she wasn't really listening, she just wanted to find Yuuichi, mostly for herself, only partly because Regina's sleeping on the table creeped her out. Vex peeked into the kitchen, he wasn't in there, nor was he behind the bar, maybe he was in his room. "Wait here Regina, I'll be right back." Vex made her way to Yuuichi's room and knocked. No answer. She turned the handle to find the door was unlocked so she pushed it open. "Yuuichi are you up here?" she asked stepping inside. She was looking around the room, she wasn't trying to be nosey, just used to scouting an area before she made off with valuables. There was no reply. In a corner of the room she saw armor. What on earth would Yuuichi need that for? she thought. She didn't want to steal from Yuuichi, he intimidated her and for now he was letting her stay here so she wanted to try and stay on his good side. Stopping for a moment she realized the room she had stayed in was a broom closet compared to this one. Smart guy that Yuuichi. She walked towards the armor wanting a better look, passing a chest at the foot of his bed. If he's got something like that armor just sitting out, I wonder what he could possibly have hidden in that... she wondered. No, I better not. Vex continued towards the armor for a better look, it was so interesting looking she couldn't help herself. She called for Yuuichi again, "Hey mutt come out and watch me make off with your belongings!" She didn't mean a word of it, but surely if he were here he'd have been at her in an instant with those freshly sharpened knives, right? She'd feel really akward if he stepped out of the shower while she was snooping in his room. Still no reply.
Regina stifled a yawn "Ok i'll stay here"noticing that Vex had wandered off and hadn't heard a word she said. Regina just shrugged her shoulder and sat down at a table "Coffee would be so nice right now"smiling at the thought of a vanilla cappuchino and still very sleepy. "I hope she can find Yuuchi soon"suddenly her stomach started to grumble.

Got to go back in sometime, sure there’s lots of people in there but you won’t get stepped on you can fly! done with her lame self pep talk Mira flew off her post, a tree branch right outside the Tavern for the Weary. She had been in and out of the place quite a few times but just couldn’t seem to settle down. But now she was hungry and starting to get cold, she had found shelter during the rain but the temperature had dropped and she didn’t fancy spending the night outside. A drop of water fell on the small fairies head and she looked flying just below a tree the water had dripped off the leaves and onto her head. Wiping the droplet of water off her forehead she flew to the door and eased it open, man the place was packed. People were everywhere, sitting at the bar, at the tables, people could be heard in the rooms above, and In the kitchens. All Mira hoped was that people watched where they went and didn’t sit on her. Flying past a few people she settled for a barstool at the end of the bar, away from enough people that she didn’t have to worry about being overlooked and sat on by accident. It hadn’t happened yet but one could never be too careful. Folding her wings behind her humming softly to herself, she waited for the tavern owner, or the bartender to take notice of her.
"Oh fairy blood'Regina smiled at the familiar scent. Killing fairys wasn't something she did but still the blood was good smelling to other vamps. She perked her head up to look around and see were this Fae was. I can smell its blood from across the room"having enough control she got up from the table she was at to go and look for this fairy.
A lanky elf made his way into the tavern. His hair was spiky green. The kind of green that matched his eyes. He wore a sky blue shirt over his jeans and tattered sneakers. He whistled a tone as he strolled in. He was about to get to the bar when he, like the clumsy oaf he was bumped into a girl with long flowing black hair and pale skin. He could only guess that perhaps she was a vampire of some sorts. "I-I-I'm sorry!" he said with a stutter. His turned red and clashed horribly with his hair.
Regina turned around to face the elf she was now distracted from the fairy blood scent. "Are you alright?" his face so very red and made him look like a christmas themed elf. "You seem new here tosmiling at the elf who had seemed rather sweet in her opinion.
He smiled bashfully at her and rubbed the back of his neck with his hand. "I-I-I'm fine, thank you Miss," he said. "It's more important to know if you are okay? I didn't mean to bump into you like that, my deepest apologizes." Wes had to remind himself not to be so clumsy. He was completely new to this tavern. He needed to come here to get away from his troubles and it seemed now he was just getting into more troubles.
Regina smiled back and couldn't really blush since she wasn't really alive"Your fine". She also noticed that he was new to the tavern and was probably either hungry or thirsty"would you like some food?"even though she could not eat he could and he looked very hungry.
He smiled at her warmly. "That would be lovely" he admitted. His voice was warm but had a heavy Scottish accent to it. His green eyes gazed at her and he smiled larger. If it could, it would spread from ear to ear. "Where is the bar? I wasn't really sure if I was going the right way.." He sheepishly said.
She smiled back and looked around"It is crowded now wonder you can't find the barshe pointed her finger toward the bar. "how about a drink with that food?"smirking gently hoping that this elf would appreciate her hospitality.
Wes nodded his spiky green haired head. "Thank you ever so much," he said. "I would love a drink! Some rum or some ale. I can never decide which one I want!" He allowed her to lead him to the bar and once there he tried to flag down a bar tender. He looked over to her while he waited. "My name is Wesley, Wes for short," he introduced himself. "How about you?"
Regina nodded back"I love rum to but not straight"she had waited for a bartender to serve them drinks.. "What is your name?"his blood smelled good to but she had to ignore it for now. "You don't need to answer that"she shifted her eyes up towards his very interesting hair color.
