The dragon conferred with his rider silently. Though his kind did not wear clothing, he knew how much humans needed the soft covering. After glancing at the sleeping girl hidden between the branches, the dragon went to gather a dress and soft leather ankle boots from Irian's pack. At the same time Tempo grabbed a pair of pants for himself, and slipped into them awkwardly. As usual, Irian had packed more things then she needed or had received gifts from those they had visited. She always brought more items of everything then was necessary, which was why she had paid so dearly for the spell upon her leather bag. It expanded the space within in order to fit four times the usual amount of items within.

Silently, Tempo went to sit beside the one who had stared at him. Placing the clothing upon her lap, the dragon then tilted his head to the side in a habitual gesture. "You need to be well clothed in order to travel well." Amber eyes traveled over the leaves of the trees as Tempo thought.

Ryu had frowned when Seiri bounced off into a tree, and his frown had deepened with the way Irian had spoken to the Raven. He was silent though. Glancing over to the small Cecilia and then to the dragon that was no longer in dragon form. Ryu licked his lips, lust stirring up a bit at the lovely visage of the dragon's humanish form. Quickly though, the stamped it down and forced it away. He shook his head slightly and stepped closer to the fire. Silent. Not quite brooding. Ryu was trying to figure out why the forest had taken it's pain out on him, and why would a wolf want to burn a forest. His eyes were on the flames, watching it intently. As if it had all the answers. Also, he wondered how and when he could get his memories back, if it was even possible. Okay..so maybe he was brooding.

AmaniIshtar 08-17-2011 12:39 AM

Seiri sighed as he moved to get more comfortable, legs hanging on each side of the branch. "Reaction or not, I should not have been so rude." He said, apologizing slightly. He refused to apologize for what he said, feeling he had said nothing wrong, but more his way of expressing those words. Letting crimson eyes wander to watch Ryu, he smiled wistfully at the dragon, though he couldn't help the tiny prick of jealousy stab in his chest. Shaking his head, huffing at the ruffled black tresses that framed his face, he ran his fingers through the hair, pushing most of the silken strands to the side as he pushed the emotion aside. "I'm Seiri, the toddler is Cecilia, but you can really meet her in a few hours. I take it you have at least meet the dragon there, but since we don't know his name yet, Ceci named him Ryu because of what he is." He said, pointing to each of the people he named. He knew he hadn't bothered explaining about Ceci, or Ariel, but a) he figured if she wanted to know, she'd ask and b) Ariel could be friendly and introduce himself.

PapillonCameo 08-17-2011 12:55 AM

Plucking a leaf carefully from a branch above Irian regarded it quietly as she listened. Her eyes wandered to each person as Seiri named them off, and she nodded to herself as she memorized their names. Then came the hardest part. The branch shifted as Irian clambered from her branch to the one the raven occupied. For a moment her heart froze in fear as one of her hands slipped from the rough bark and only the one hand held her suspended. Then Irian forced herself to calm down and finish pulling herself up. "My name's Irian, and the other dragon with the dark skin and amber eyes is my partner and brother of sorts, Tempo." Closing her brown eyes briefly the woman sent out a tentative tendril to the forest and found it to have an almost sentience of it's own. "Do you know anything about the forest?" Her fists clenched over the branch at the thought of being trapped. Once it had happened, and the experience had left it's marks.

Ora heard someone near her and looked up to see Tempo take a seat beside her. He was clothed now and spoke to her, handing her a dress and a pair of shoes. Her eyes widened and she smiled, jumping into a hug, arms around his neck she exclaimed, "Thank you! It's been so awful out here in my night gown, I cut my foot badly and my dress is ruined..." realizing she had jumped the poor man, she blushed and released her grip on him. "Thank you." She said again, but calmly, as she put the shoes on her feet. Realizing she couldn't very well change in front of everyone she stood and looked around for a darker area. Unfortunately the fire was big and lit a large area around them. She turned and walked into the woods where she would feel more comfortable removing her night gown to change.

Kry 08-17-2011 06:07 AM

Ryu had been brooding near the fire, but he had also been listening to the conversation that was close enough for him to hear. He had also been listening to the forest and for the sounds of anyone's approach. The thing with the fire, had him wary. If the creature that had done it was hostile, it could be a threat to them. His head snapped up and he blinked when Irian asked Seiri if he knew anything about the forest. Hesitantly, Ryu took a step in their direction. "This place, speaks to me. Somehow I share a connection to it. It mocks us. It teases me and tells me of how we shall all remain trapped in this place forever. It tells me that it will ensure I never regain my memories, because my memories hold the key of this forests undoing." Ryu's eyes widened slightly. "My..My memories are the key to the secrets of this place." His brow creased slightly, he frowned deeply. His head was starting to hurt.

Esmme 08-17-2011 10:18 PM

(( I vaguely read a bit, but I'm not really thinking Ariel is doing much other than keeping close to where Cecilia is. The elemental has taken quite the attachment to her, and now that Seiri is farther away, he's just hovering nearby.))

PapillonCameo 08-17-2011 10:34 PM

Irian turned to look down at the man she'd tried to help previously. His words only solidified her certainty about the forest's sentience. Looking from Seiri to Ryu, she smiled a little. What an interesting bunch. "Well then, this forest isn't really smart." Poking at the tree for a moment, Irian wondered what dragon fire would do to the place. Dragon's fire, it burned nearly everything in it's path, especially for a Fire dragon like Tempo. Though his scales were black, fire was what defined him. "Besides, I would take comfort from the fact that it tries to stop my memories... Try being the key word, because it proves that you can indeed remember Ryu." Nodding to herself, the young woman turned to Seiri with her head cocked to the side like a lizard, or a certain dragon, did habitually. She wanted very much to know what he thought about all this.

For his part, Tempo was shocked to be so greatly thanked for such a small gesture. As the girl flung her arms around him he sat frozen, even after she left. Frowning as she left, the amber eyed man turned to watch the other conversation unfold. Then, sensing that his rider was about to do something very stupid, Tempo went to stand beside Ryu. Scales appeared on his forearms in anticipation of an act Tempo both reveled in and dreaded. Soon Irian would jump off that high branch, and Tempo would have to shift quickly in order to catch her in his powerful claws.

AmaniIshtar 08-17-2011 11:04 PM

Seiri nodded when the female had introduced herself and the other dragon, and had been about to answer when Ryu spoke up. He grinned, it seemed like the other was finally breaking from his shell, now if only he could get used to the white of Cecilia's gifts. Shaking his head, he sighed a little. "I say that the forest is wrong. You will get your memories back and we will be freed of this prison." He stated with fierce conviction, arms crossing over his chest. Not that it helped make him seem fierce, just more like he was pouting childishly. Deciding he'd had enough of being in the tree, he threw his leg over so that he sat sideways and slid off, knees bending to absorb the impact. He stretched with a sudden yawn, arms rising above his head, and sighed in relief as he felt his back pop into alignment. Ruby eyes remained staring up into the higher branches, catching sight of the patches of dark sky. "I wonder whats past the tree tops." He wondered aloud, suddenly feeling an itch to go flying in the brisk night wind, which was diluted this close to the ground.

Kry 08-18-2011 01:55 AM

Ryu shrugged slightly watching Irian. "Perhaps one day I will remember...but the forest did not take my memories, the forest is merely a prison. Many have died trapped here, many that have been justly and unjustly imprisoned." When Tempo stepped up beside him, he looked at the dragon for a moment. "But the forest tells me there is no hope for me, because the magic used to rob me of my memories is too strong to be undone." His brow furrowed just slightly and he raised a hand to rub at his forehead slightly. The pain worsening just slightly. When Seiri came down from the tree, Ryu moved closer to him.

Ora had gone a good distance from the group and quickly slipped out of her night gown. Slipping the dress on over her head she held up her torn and dirtied gown and sighed. It had been a long day. Looking back towards the light of the fire Ora felt a chill run the length of her spine causing the hairs on the back of her neck to stand on end. She looked around, but saw nothing. A small breeze swept over her causing the trees to sway and creek and the leaves to shake and fall. Beginning to feel really creeped out, she headed back towards the group. As she got closer Ryu came into her vision. A small breeze swept over her again, "Muurrdeererrr...". Ora froze where she stood. Surely she was hearing things. Taking another few steps, eyes still on Ryu the breeze was upon her again, it raspily whispering, "Muuurrddeereerrr...". Ora's heart began to beat quickly. Stepping into the light of the camfire she looked away from Ryu, looking pale and sick, heart still beating out of her chest. She made her way to the farthest spot away from Ryu she could and sat. I must be losing it, she thought. Looking at the man again, He doesn't look like he would hurt a fly, I just need some rest... she thought. Still, she couldn't shake this feeling. Maybe her mind was playing tricks on her, maybe it wasn't. Shivering slightly, not from cold, but from the sudden sinking feeling that they were all in danger, if not from wild beasts in these woods, then from Ryu, she locked her eyes on him. She was small and probably couldn't do much, but if he tried anything funny, she wanted to be aware of it.

Esmme 08-18-2011 04:24 AM

Seeing how Ora reacted to Ryu made Ariel frown. He slowly shifted, giving Cecilia a glance before disappearing into a mist once again. He shifted until he was near the other girl and watched her for a few moments. His quicksilver voice matched his form as he stepped near Ora. "Does he make you uneasy?" The elemental narrowed his pale eyes as he looked over to the demon. Perhaps she feels similar.

((:XD Ultra-lame post. But I had to post SOMETHING!!))

p o p p e t ♥ 08-18-2011 08:31 PM

Jumping slightly at the voice beside her Ora looked to see one who appeared to be a ghost. She thought she remembered seeing him near Cecilia earlier before he quickly vanished. Nothing suprised her anymore, not after the day she'd had. Staring at him curiously for a moment before replying, "I don't know... I heard something..." She seemed to be contemplating something. She didn't want to make herself look like a crazy, so she shook her head. "No, it's silly. I must have been hearing things. I'm tired, my mind was playing tricks on me." But was it? She turned her attention back to Ryu and the chill ran up her spine again. That was strange, she hadn't had this feeling around him before... it was like someone, or something was trying to tell her something, or warn her.

PapillonCameo 08-19-2011 12:17 AM

Irian scoffed loudly at his words. Ryu certainly was a downer, with no will to actually try and change his situation. "Well I'm telling you Ryu, Seiri's right about you regaining your memories. It will happen." Glancing down at the raven, the red head smiled. She certainly understood how annoying it was to be land bound when the skies called to you. It was this yearning which had made her accept the partnership with Tempo, and this same yearning which always brought her out adventuring. There was also the fact that in many worlds the dragons were failing, and Irian was single handedly trying to change that situation.

As her thoughts wandered to the sky, she remember a view of the strange pink leaved forest. There had been something there.... A bizzare tree, or a clump of them that had seemed out of place....

((I was wondering if there might be a central place for the 'intelligence' in the forest... Like a brain of sorts. Having flown in, Irian might have seen it if it existed, and Tempo too. It would give everyone something to reach in their wanderings..))

Tempo regarded his rider as she spoke, and nodded silently to himself. He remembered the place she spoke of. An ear twitched as branches broke. Turning around, Tempo smiled as he saw the woman he'd helped return with a dress and shoes. As the dragon walked to her, he noticed a strange wisp of a being floating there. "I see that the dress fits relatively well," stated the dragon as he silently asked Irian if the girl's behavior was normal.

Tempo sent to Irian was he had seen as he approached and received an answer immediately. As he shook his head dark locks fell to frame his face. Irian wanted to know the whole conversation, and why the girl was worried.

Esmme 08-19-2011 04:30 PM

"This forest is full of tricks," Ariel nodded, his gaze flicking over to Cecilia as she curled up between the large roots. His silver eyes narrowed. "Did the forest tempt you to enter, or were you forced in?" The elemental flit away in a light breeze only to appear on Ora's other side. Wind gently tugged at the woman's features as he seemed to "inspect" her. The air filled with the scent of a gentle ocean breeze.

"Your name is Ora, yes?"

p o p p e t ♥ 08-19-2011 05:20 PM

"The forest tricks..." she repeated. It made sense, but seemed so unlikely that a forest could do such things. Thinking about it for a moment she responded, "I sleep-walked to the edge of the forest, more than once. I was dreaming, or having visions of someone in the forest. Yesterday when I woke at the edge of the forest I saw a person running..." she frowned remembering what he said about the forest being tricky, "...I thought. When I ran in after him a fog set in and I've been lost since." She sighed, "No one seems to know a way out..." she said sadly. She failed to mention that her visions tended to revolve around Ryu, and kept to herself that the forest had told her he was a murderer. It worried her, for herself and the others, but also for Ryu. She couldn't believe he would ever hurt anyone, but she didn't know him either. She wanted to wait to say anything to see if she could figure out more about him. Looking back towards the ghostly figure she yawned, "Yes, I'm Ora" she thought it only polite to shake his hand, but pausing for a moment to study him her long pale hair blowing slightly in the breeze, she didn't know if that was actually possible... "Who... what are you?"

Esmme 08-19-2011 06:20 PM

"I am Ariel," the spirit replied, bowing low enough to impress a queen. When he stood, he flourished his hand as though offering it to her . . . and then slowly lowered it. Ariel wasn't solid enough to touch her. "I am a spirit bound to this forest just as I was once bound to my master." His pale eyes flickered with hatred for a moment, the wind carrying the scent of fire as it brushed over them. "This forest is my prison, just as it is yours."

Ariel slowly reached forward again, trying to touch Ora's pale hair as it shifted in the wind that the elemental seemed to summon. "We're all trapped here."

(Hi again guys :D! I'm sorry I was gone longer than four days... but I'm back! Again, sorry for the absence! Oh, and yeah, Esmme... Pyro's story is pretty sad O3o :/)

Pyro, still imprisoned in his memories, let out a terrifying growl, his lips unconsciously pulling back, baring ivory white teeth. His eyelids flickered in his dream-like state, and the young wolf opened his mouth just slightly, letting out a whine of fear, caused by an unknown danger
Something sharp pierced though Pyro's thick pelt, and drops of blood started to seep across his beautiful white fur, mingling in with his red tufts of hair. A few unintelligible words were spoken aloud as the young wolf was lifted effortlessly into the air, his paws churning the air uselessly. It was then Pyro realized that what was keeping ahold of him was not a wolf's jaws, but those tall, human-like creature's fingers, which pierced deeper into his neck, reaching towards his throat. Too shocked at the moment to take action, he felt the creature's fingers grip around his windpipe, restricting his breathing to raspy gasps of air.
Letting out a strangled growl, the desperate wolf made a sudden effort to move, escape, but he was running out of air and the attempts became more and more feeble. He could feel sunlight falling against his flickering eyelids as the monster strode into the clearing, to show his prize to the others. It was then, with a shudder, the beast dropped Pyro to the floor, and fell down likewise, with Ruin clutching the back of his neck stubbornly, her eyes shut tight. Almost immediately, the traumatized she-wolf backed up from the corpse, her fur rising in horror, and her eyes unable to take in anything else but the body that lay there. It was the first time she had ever done such a deed, or ever thought of performing one, and to the kind-hearted wolf, this was extremely distressing for her.
Letting out a cry of anger and shock, several of the creatures ran forwards, swinging their weapons with wild abandon as they moved towards Ruin, who was still locked in her mental woes. Pyro saw this, and, although he could barely take any breath though his damaged throat, took a few bounds towards the she-wolf, standing protectively in front of her, a glint of lust for bloodshed shining in his eyes. It was only now that the enraged wolf took time to observe his oncoming foes. They had short snouts, wolf-like but with only slits for nostrils, and cragged teeth were exposed against the dark skin of the strange animals. They had small eyes, almost all a dull, muddy brown color save for a few which had hazel eyes. A bundle of greasy hair shot out from their skulls, long and unkempt. It seemed they were only garbed in a few straps of cloth, though it seemed unnecessary for their thick fur which covered most of their body save for their heads.
Safe with the knowledge that the creature's wore no protection, Pyro lunged at the closest of the beings, sinking his teeth deep into it's arm. Instantly, dark red blood sprang up, streaming down along the animal's arm as it cried out in agony. With a roar, the beast dispatched the offender from his arm with a powerful throw, sending the white wolf skittering across the clearing. His head throbbing with pain, Pyro felt himself slipping into unconsciousness. Pain sweeping through his mind, muddling his thoughts, all that kept the wretched wolf from passing out was the snarling of his packmate, and her alternating bouts of barking and howling. There were a few words passed between the brutes, and then suddenly a loud, heart-wrenching yowl split the air. Forcing weary eyelids open, the young wolf suddenly felt his heart falter at the scene ahead of him.

AmaniIshtar 08-22-2011 04:25 AM

Smiling lightly at his dragon friend, he threw an arm about his shoulders, slightly hugging the other, and nuzzled his cheek against Ryu's neck. He really didn't feel like going back over towards the sleeping angel, half hoping the forest might be lenient enough to her to give her some energy to wake soon. For once he really needed her. She'd always made things right for him. Maybe she could help Ryu too. While he may not say anything, he didn't like that the forest talked to his dragon...He blinked slightly as he rest his chin on the others shoulder. Why did Seiri call him his? Shrugging it off, he let his thoughts roam again. It wasn't fair really. There had to be some way to get out of here.

Esmme 08-24-2011 09:30 PM

((@Kya - I'm not sure if you saw it, but I replied.))

((Sorry! I was kind of waiting for everyone else to get some text in, but since that doesn't seem to be the plan...))

Ora shuddered as the wind picked up, more from Ariel's words than anything. He'd been bound here? "How could a forest trap us all here?" She thought for a moment. "It's not a living thing..." Her cheeks reddened a little at her own words. If Ariel was a spirit, and not a living thing, she may have put her foot in her mouth. Hoping she hadn't offended him, she spoke again, "N-not that, things that aren't living, can't d-do things, and stuff, I guess... I just meant, I think, that..." Was she putting her other foot in her mouth now? She sighed, looking down in embarassement. Quietly she mumbled, "There has to be a way out."

Esmme 08-24-2011 09:58 PM

(( Oh. I understand . . . and you're nice. I just pushed forward anyway.))

Ariel watched Ora stutter for a while with one pale brow lifted in amusement. His hand fell away from her hair as she finally got her words out again. There had to be a way out. The elemental frowned, shaking his head. "If the forest offers it, then yes there is." He then turned his gaze to the others around the fire before whispering his next words.
"I am alive, Ora." A playful breeze that was scented with wildflowers tickled their noses as Ariel sat beside the woman. "Though I suppose I'm not . . . whole." For a moment he seemed quite solid - solid enough to actually brush campfire smoke away from his features when the wind shifted directions. Pushing the air elsewhere, Ariel looked back to his companion. Her blush was visable in the low light.
Ariel lifted his hand to touch her warm cheek, his fingertips feeling like frosted snow: hardly tangible. Instead of pointing out that she was blushing, he merely seemed to inspect it . . . and then turned his gaze to the fire. "Many have looked for an escape from this forest. Not many leave."

PapillonCameo 08-24-2011 11:45 PM

Irian watched and listened to the conversation as Tempo did, and found herself intrigued with the wisp of a man just as her dragon wanted to know the young woman better. Moving in tandem, the young woman jumped off the branch nimbly and ran over in step with her dragon to sit beside the other two. She beside Ariel, and he beside Ora. Addressing herself to Ariel, she grinned and extended a hand. Irian wasn't at all put off by his physical state, in reality she was quite intrigued. "Hello Ariel, my name is Irian. I only know your name because Tempo was listening into your conversation with Ora. Anyway, why such a downer? With such a varied group we'll all get out of here. "

Tilting her head to the side, Irian remembered the structure at the center of the forest and frowned. "Have you ever heard of a central part of the forest? Where things then to happen more? Maybe it kind has a brain. Now if we could get there.." Trailing off, the red head regarded the fire now with a serious gaze. The notion of being trapped was not one that sat well.

Tempo regarded Ora with a small smile on his face. It looked more like a grimace really, but the dragon wasn't quite used to this form. Usually he would have been in his draconian form without a care in the world flying trough the sky. Now though... "Ora is it? There is a way out, of that I am certain." Nodding to the words of his rider, Tempo watched with amusement as his flight sister tried to insert herself into the conversation also.

It was obvious to him that his human friend wanted to know more. Tempo knew what that curiosity usually led to. "Besides, this is a grand adventure. One of quite strange proportions. " In vain the dragon tried to bring some light to the little group gathered. He knew quite well that Irian wasn't bothered. It was difficult for Tempo not to worry about the other though.

Esmme 08-25-2011 12:03 AM

"Is that so?" Ariel merely glanced at the hand extended to him. The elemental disregarded the show of greeting by turning his gaze pointedly toward the fire. "I didn't ask for your name." A dark expression came over his pale face, but he seemed to clamp the emotion down. "And even I recall that it is socially unfit to eavesdrop."
He then narrowed his silver eyes and sucked in a slow breath. "I've seen large groups fail. I've followed them before, and they have no better chance of making it out." He seemed to glare at Tempo when he spoke of a "grand adventure." "Perhaps you have need of an adventure," Ariel's hair seemed to writhe with unseen winds as his anger built, "but I would prefer less excitement. I have no intention of going through another adventure with you people." The last adventure he'd gone on cost him his freedom - and his life. Twice.

The elemental scoffed quietly, his heated anger suddenly falling to a freezing cold. His gaze locked on the fire, and his nearly solid form fell nearly still (he was never completely still thanks to the winds that he seemed to be partially made of). It looked as though Ariel intended to ignore the others . . . despite his previous calm appearance. Now he was stone-cold and stoic, looking cut off from the conversation that he knew was growing.

((:XD Don't take his rude demeanor personally! I just figured that I'd make someone to cause trouble in the rp. ;)))

PapillonCameo 08-25-2011 12:25 AM

((lol Irian irritated Seiri too.))

Rolling her eyes, the young woman felt a little disappointed with herself. This was the second time that night for her to so quickly get on someone else's nerves. Usually, the young woman had no trouble at all. Then again dragon riders were a quite tight knit group, even if worlds so often separated them. It seemed like this forest created rifts easily between some and brought others together quickly.

Discarding the thought, Irian tried to get Ariel's attention with a shy smile. "Look, I know I did wrong but at the same time there really isn't much else to do." There were things she knew and might have said which would only have angered Ariel more. Instead, she probably plunged into another mistake. "I must admit, I only listened in out of pure curiosity. You aren't like any elemental I've ever come across before." Stating plain truth, the young woman kept her gaze fixed on the flames. Not once had Irian looked to see how Ariel might react.
