Katie smiled at the two. she was glad they were having fun. She held a bearskin necklace with a wolf figure on it in her paw and she handed it to david and motioned for him to put it on.

David took the neckless and put it on. "For me? Thank you very much"

"it allows you to understand the animals," katie said.

David froze for a moment. "You...you can talk?"

"its the necklace. it is a charm to help you understand animals." katie said.

David lowerd his head. "I am very sorry for the deaths of your two sons. I take full responsibility"

" it wasn't your fault. Your father is the one who had the gun. They were just trying to protect Sierra. They have always been protective over her, and when your dad had the gun they thought he was gOn a hurt her" she said.

"I promise that no harm shall ever come to your daughter"

" I will hold you to that promise" she said with a smile.

David held Sierra's hand. He was glad that she had come into his life.

" I love you" she said.

"I love you too" David kissed Sierra on the cheek.

" you two look cute together" katie said.

"Your daughter's the cute one" David began rubbing her ears.

She smiled and kissed him.

"Sierra, I want to be with you"

"you are with me," she said.

"Actually, what I mean is, I want to be part wolf like you"

"i know what you meant. i was joking," she giggled. "I don't know how you would become part wolf like me," she said. "I do. you became part wolf because you adapted but there is another way. A few miles north of here, there is a cave that holds many crystals. one of those crystals make the hold part wolf. it is said to be legend but if you two are willing to make the journy, it might work," she said.

"I'll do it" David said. He stood up and looked at Sierra. "Are you ready for a journey?"

"yeah i am," she said taking his hand.

David headed out with Sierra in search of the cave.

(days later)

"There it is," she said seeing the cave. it emitted a soft glow.

David walked up to the cave. He turned to Sierra. "Ready?"

"yeah," she said. She walked with him towards the cave and a bright like shone and when it cleared, a golden wolf walked forward. "Hello. i am Katari, guardian of hte cave of crystals. From the looks of it you are looking for the neko crystal am i right? " she asked. "Yes" Sierra siad. "you may enter but know this. you will face three test before you reach the crystal. The test of sacrafice, the test of love, and the test of bravery. Enter my young humans," she said then vanished.
