Was there something wrong with her? Suddenly Mani felt as though she was the sent of negitive attention. Meekly, which was out of character for her, she looked down at the ground and tried to think of something else. She could already feel her skin drying again, and her tought had already split half way. Mani knew she hadn't done anything wrong but there was a sort of uncomfortable feeling that washed over her, giving her prickles of angst through out her whole body.

With a nod, William stood again and placed his hand on Kiero's shoulder just before exiting the room. The threat of making him ride to school with him was more of a bluff to fluster the boy then it was a threat and so his job was finished. As long as the he knew that the young man wasn't attempting any sort of rebelion, he wouldn't have to resort to using his trigger word to set off Xero.

Pandora listened to everything that Rosemary said, sitting on her knees on the floor. She thought about what she said, yet wasn't sure what to say.

Anastasia followed the group of kids to Rosemary's house and listened to Rosemary speak. She thought about that she said and tilted her head, Mani might be considered the one to be different but maybe she has to be for a reason. "I-I-I d-d-don't c-c-consider M-M-Mani strange. I-I-If I ca-ca-can re-re-recall th-th-there i-i-is a sn-sn-snake in the ch-ch-chinese zodiac...m-m-maybe M-M-Mani is a s-s-sort o-o-of a g-g-guardian for us." she said blushing a little. She was getting nervous talking a loud and started to get embarrassed. Her eyes unknowingly turned black as her head started to hurt, "Ow..." she said softly to herself leaning against the wall for support.

Agatha sat in her limo with her friend, Mikayla. "This is a perfect day to go shopping since school's out. What do you think Mikayla. Maybe we can get you something nice to learn." she said with a sort of seductive voice. Agatha was British but was older than most of the people in her class only because she started late. Agatha was the most popular girl in Orion and Mikayla was her trusted sidekick. "Well Mikayla, what do you think?" she asked with a smile on her face then leaned back and crossed her legs as her school uniform shifted and moved with her body.

Max followed Rosemary to her house in silent sniffles. The tears were pretty much gone now, it was just the after effects of having been crying left over. He tried not to look at her grandparents, encase they noticed that he too was in a form that wasn't his own.

When they went upstairs to her room though, he stood awkwardly in the doorway having no idea where to go to sit. It wasn't right, him being in a girls room. Now he was hugging his awkward female body as he listened to her ideas. "That may be so, but we don't change when we're hugged by someone of the opposite sex. Most of us didn't even know about our forms before today anyways right?"

At the mention of Mani and her alter form though, he shuddered. "It's not that I hate her... I hate snakes. They're..." He was at a loss for words. It was a phobia, an irrational fear. Like most peoples fear of spiders. There was no way you could explain why exactly you were scared of the thing, just that you for some reason had that fear. Max could come up with all kinds of reasons that he had the fear, but none would truly be rational.

Sitting in the limo with her best and only friend, Agatha, Mikayla smiled under her long, layered, plain brown hair. Looking up at the sassy green eyes blond, she watched her adjust in her seat.

"Yes, Agatha, it sounds like a splendid plan." Mikayla agreed with the girl and let her gaze fall back onto her lap. She fiddled with the red gem on her bracelette, tracing the metal clasps and the lines in the stone. The two of them always had good fun together while they were shopping, it took quite a bit of the pressure off from her when they were in public.

The tension in the room that Mani felt began to subside as everyone else gave their oppinions. It didn't feel like such a negative spotlight was on her anymore. She looked threw the book, noting a character named 'Kyo', the boy who turned into a cat... The boy Rosemary had just compaired her too. A sarcastic grin crossed her lips and she tossed the book onto Rose's lap. The grin faded and she looked to Anastasia who'd more or less stood up for her.

"That's an interesting idea." She started to stand proudly, putting on a show. In her old school she was a drama nut so it wasn't uncommon for her to act like a fool from time to time. She put her fist in the air above her head like a victorious conquorer. "I, Mani, swear to fight for justice. And on behalf of the moon,, I will protect you!" Mani mimiced a cartoon she had watched when she was quite a few years younger then bust out laughing. If nothing else it helped change the aura of the room to a less serious color.

Max giggled and than covered his mouth cheeks bright red. He had not watched that show, he swore he had never watched that show. Quick come up with a cover story for your giggles.His head screamed at him, And secondly, why in the world are you ...giggling.

Rosemary smiled at Mani's outburst."true, there is a snake in the chinese zodiac, but I don't think we're in the chinese one.I think we represent the western zodiac, which does not contain a snake.which would explain the phobia and or dislike of snakes that manifested in all of us when Mani changed." She said, looking each of them in the eye."and I was just using the Manga as a reference.they change when they're hugged, but we have already been told what brings on our change.the principal- who I think represents 'god' in this scenario- told us that we change when we are embarrassed or upset.think about it- why does that man know so much about us? He is the same as the head of the family in the Manga." She continued.then she looked over at Maxwell and Anastasia."Maxwell, you can come in, you know.it's ok with me.and Anastasia, relax hon.we're all friends here, no one is going to judge you." She said softly, with a smile.

"That would explain his stuck up, I'm the boss and awesome attitude." Max said rolling his eyes, arms moving from hugging himself to an annoyed across the chest post. At the mention of coming into the room he looked at the floor though.It's probably just because I'm a girl now. "I knew that... I just like the door frame." But he took a couple steps into the rooms, blush dotting his cheeks. "And... I think it'd be better if you all just called me Max... especially when I'm like this." He sighed unhappily. "Max is a girls name as well anyways."

The afternoon flew by for the young adults who had spent their time talking about their special gifts. As dusk drew nearer, the student had each made their way to their homes for the night, Mani being the last one to have left. What an eventfull first day at her new school she tought to herself as she walked down the sidewalk towards her home. Her fingers interlocked behind her head as she casually strided. The wind blew her duster jacket behind her, sending a chill up her spine from the cool sea air that came in off the coast.

Morning the next day seemed to come in a blink of an eyes and soon the begining of the second school day was mear hours away. All over Virginia alarm clocks sounded off, arousing people of all ages from their sleep. The sun had rose and burnt off the morning fog by 5 that morning and now, being 7 AM, it was already a warm 68 degrees outside.

In his office at the school, William was already busy working on his paper work for the day. There was a stack of sealed letters sitting on his desk, each labled with the names of the children he'd spoken to the day before, including two student's he hadn't yet gotten the time to talk to; Finx and Jacob. These letters would be given to the students when they arrived in the home rooms at the begining of the day.

Maxwell was up with the sun at the ungodly hour of 5 am. Usually he would sleep until just before he had to stroll to class. But today was different because his sleep had been restless. Tossing and turning over the thoughts of what their new group had discovered. He didn't have close friends, just class mates. He didn't date. He just did his schoolwork, and now even that had been forgotten the night before as he walked home.

His parents had been thrilled when he'd walked in the door, though he hadn't expected them to see him. They'd run up and hugged him and kissed his forehead. He'd forgotten how much they had loved having a daughter when he was younger. He looked down at himself remembering this. Nope. All the feminine parts were still there. He felt like skipping school. Something he never did. Maybe he could get his parents to sign the paperwork to let him off for the day so he could try to switch back.

Yawning widely he washed his face and stared in the mirror. Do I brush the ears to?

He got dressed in another pair of baggy cargo shorts, his size there didn't change to much between forms. At least he only had to put on a belt for that. The top was another matter. What was he supposed to do there. He poked his new female chest. Kinda squishy... All the girls wore bras, how was he supposed to get one before school started? If he went that is. Finally he decided on just putting a t-shirt on. than went downstairs to get breakfast and work on his homework at the kitchen counter.

He barely noticed when his mother came in the room.. shopping bags in hand. "I bought you some new clothes sweetie!" She said far to cheerfully. Max groaned and finished the line of homework he was working on than turned around. To see her hold up the shopping bags full of feminine clothes for him. His face flushed. How long am I going to be stuck like this!!!

He chose to ignore the short shorts, and mini skirts his mom had bought him, and keep his cargo shorts. But he had to change into the bra and far to revealing shirt. His t-shirt had been tugging at his throat uncomfortably.

"Oh you look darling!" His mom announced on his re-entry back into the kitchen. "Your father had to run to work all ready but he wanted me to give you this note that let's you get into the school without suspicion." He gawked at her.

"You expect me to still go to school like this?!?"

"Well of course sweetie. Don't want you ruining your perfect attendance." Than she was gone.

Max stared after her in disbelief and groaned, dreading what the letter said. But he opened it to read it anyways. Had to find out what tricks his parents were up to.


'Maxi' 's head hit the counter in disbelief. And she let out a cry of frustration.
