Akane nodded and beamed at her daughter. Her dress was gorgeous and she loved it a lot. "Well quit staring at it! Put it on your silly pup!" She teased her daughter as she watched the excitement build in the room between her two daughters. She then looked to Morgana as the white haired busty beauty looked out the window. That gaze said it all, she was communicating with her husband, and packs alpha. It ment he was home and having him close always put her at ease.
Coventina stood and held out her hand. "Jezereth you will not leave. Your scrapper was here, as well as yourself to see what happened with the Vengeance." She snapped, the tone shocking in her voice. "We need to know what happened exactly, and if they planted a spy we need them weeded out, now." She said firmly and looked to Noctis. She knew he agreed, he was on the same feeling from what her powers said. Navi was coming out of a cloud of confision, and Jazereth was angry. "Savanna will also get everything questioned because she was here as well. We will investigate properly, with the best memory reader we have in all clans to compare stories and come to a conclusion. Agreed?"

Jazereth's features softened,"Yes, of course. But you do know that no matter what, our people have the right to know the truth." Without looking at Landon, she communicated to him through a secured mid link,'Landon, please. I ask of you that you protect your memories. They'll take you and rip them into shreds. I don't want you to forget. The past is what drives us forward. Protect yourself from their suspicion. Don't underestimate them.'

Sona froze. A way to keep the tribes calm? When she was so close to breaking herself? The girls blue eyes filled with uncertainty. She didn't know. "The alphas would know," she said, blinking. Where were the alphas? Why was there so much happening? "What aren't they telling us, Roulan?"
Though her voice had dropped, Sona looked uncomfortable. "Only the alphas can calm their minds. Everyone's worried."
-
As Jazereth managed to squirm out from under him, the gray wolf watched her worriedly. The only response Landon sent the woman was one of mental energy - he'd heard her.
"These kinds of secrets can kill." Still, there was a surge of emotion - affirmation. Landon knew that they were walking a very thin line between survival and their fall. This wasn't a situation he enjoyed being thrown into.
"Jazereth you will not leave."
Jazereth's words to Coventina brought his gaze to the Water alpha. Shifting forms, the scrapper cautiously avoided getting too close to any of the others. He kept himself a few feet from the Fire alpha at all times. This time, though, he almost seemed to be willing to place himself between Jazereth and whatever threat Coventina might offer.
The Water alpha's words made his inner being tremble. It was tiring to change the memories of one person, though easier to change his own. Memory readers wouldn't notice that the memories had been tampered with. But ... three of them? Savannah, Jazereth, and Landon himself would need different memories if they were to protect their secrets.
Landon's bare feet shifted as though he was uncomfortable, his blue eyes darting back to Jazereth. Oh, he'd heard her. No matter how hard a wolf tried, there was no way to lie to a memory reader. This was going to be quite the challenge. In fact, Landon had already begun molding his own memories, reaching deep into his own mind and pulling the strings.
"Ask her how soon we will be ..." Landon couldn't even finish the sentence. He had heard of the mind readers, but ... this was ... horrific. He didn't even know if he could protect the truth. He certainly didn't want his memories shredded....
Landon knew how his powers worked. It was like taking a bag of sand and taking out a few grains, exchanging a few for grains of salt. It worked in mind links between scrappers and alphas, which was one of the most powerful links possible between two wolves. Hopefully it would be enough to keep the memory readers out.
They would see a different scene. Instead of Savannah being controlled, or Jazereth's powers manifesting, or even Landon's secret identity being revealed, the memories would take a different turn. They would see an attack, and a desperate fight. They would catch only what they saw in person. Landon's memories molded swiftly, changing to form a realistic version of the truth.
Inwardly, he desperately hoped that the memory readers couldn't pick up on the changes. His real memories, the truth, slipped into a "background" deep in his mind. Landon wasn't sure if the mind readers were even aware of this inner place, but he prayed they didn't.
-
Noctis growled. "We find the spy. Now." His maroon eyes flickered to Navi as the woman rejoined them. She nodded her agreement. The Earth alpha's grip on Savannah's arm was tight, but he didn't hurt her. Instead, it was protective - he needed her to survive. And this trial with the memory readers was going to be ... interesting.
"If all of you cooperate, this will go smoothly. The faster we can figure out who it is, the sooner we can cut Vengence's link to our packs."
A mental ping shot to his warriors, and the Earth clan began to move in action. They formed more walls, changing the way they were shaped. All the packs would be more protected, though it almost felt like a kind of prison.

"Sona the Alphas aren't here to keep us calm" he looked around to notice that everyone seemed to notice the commotion "We will find a way to keep them calm" he noticed the uncertainty on her face "We can do this" he grabbed her hand and squeezed it gently "I know that both of us can do this" Roulan bit his lip hoping she would help him.

Jazereth stood tall and held her head high. "Of course we will comply. My pack values the laws higher than their lives! You disgrace my kin with your words. We have upheld the laws with the utmost dignity. I can't believe you'd even suggest that the spy be from my pack! I'm so sure that I'll lay my life in the line. If the mole is discovered and is from my pack I will relinquish my position and give the law my life. Does that sound fair? And yes, of course Landon will give you everything and anything you want from him."

Coventina shook her head and looked to Jazereth. "To throw your life away for such foolishness is disheartening... The fire clan needs a great leader like yourself. I merely am saying that we need to fix this by finding the source of the problem, even if its a member of my own pack. Things need to be taken care of." She said gently and then looked to the party. "I have summonsed the mind readers, they will be here shortly, but I must attend to the party atmosphere... My powers are needed." She said and walked calmly towards the feast again. When she arrived at the edge of it, her powers expanded vastly, like a large warm blanket, settling over all in attendance. The fun and soothing qualities then began to spread out. Attitudes changed from worried to happy and content. Music started again and tribe members began dancing and singing. The water alpha kept pushing the feelings until every last wolf was reassured that the party could go on, and the alphas would return soon.

"I know." Sona smiled slightly, her worried expression fading as Coventina returned. The festivities began again, though no one could ignore the way the walls shifted to protect them. Shivering lightly, the blue-haired girl turned her attention to Roulan. "I should ask her what happened."
With an apologetic nod, the girl slipped away from her new friend. Approaching Coventina slowly, she waited until the others left her a chance to speak with the Water alpha.
"Is everything alright?" she asked quietly, hoping she wasn't bothering Coventina. "Everyone was so worried for you."
-
"Quite the offer," Noctis glowered at Jazereth for a few moments. "If we find a spy among your pack, your life will be forefeit." His maroon eyes filled with anger. Surely she wasn't suggesting that the spy was in his own pack?
The Earth alpha motioned for everyone to stand. "Move. We need to return to the camp before anything else happens."
Landon slipped closer to Jazereth. Noctis could have SWORN he saw the scrapper glare at him threateningly, but when they met gazes the youth ducked his head in submission.
"I'm nearly finished with my memories. When we get a moment alone, I would like to change yours." Landon's arm brushed Jazereth's lightly, though his gaze stayed locked on Noctis as the Earth alpha took the lead back to camp. Savannah was in tow.
"I need to get Savannah's mind, too."

Roulan smiled but inside he was kinda upset at having Sona leave "Yes...you should go see your alpha" he sighed and blushed as Sona left. ""I better go on ahead and try to communicate with mine" he closed his eyes and concentrated despite the ruckus going on Jazareth what happened? are you ok? he did not focus as to keep read her thoughts just enough to try and communicate with Jazareth.

Jazereth's eyes stayed on Noctis' back as he left the clearing. 'Savannah is the main priority, if anything should happen I will be fine. The mind readers will get lost in my mind. Once they enter my walls, it only takes a couple of minutes before they lose themselves. While the readers are in my territory I will not let them leave, until I have insured your safety. Please hurry, accompany Noctis if you have to. Tell him that I ordered you to go with him to have your mind investigated. Be careful, if you misstep I fear you will not have the chance to cover your tracks. But of course I will come to your aid if you're ever in need. Just contact me.' Once the alphas were out of view, Jazereth lightly placed her hand on Landon's cheek. 'I can't afford to lose you.' Gazing into his eyes she added before turning to disappear in the forest,'Your secrets are safe with me.'

Roulan kept his concentration on trying to find what was going with Jazareth. "I hope that everythings ok" he kept his concentration up but he could not pick up if his alpha was ok or alive. "What is going on?" he kept thinking to himself as he searched to find her. He did remained relaxed on the outside but his mind was tense due to him not picking up what had occurred during the celebration.

Coventina smiled seeing Sona approach with worry on her face. The young woman was around her own age, and was still attempting to train her powers of ice. Her drive had always been something the water alpha admired about the female. "Sona, things will be alright." She said softly though a hint of worry flashed through her mind. The water mind reader stepped forwards, and bowed to her. "Please keep yourself in good spirits Sona... I wish our pack to enjoy this celebration to the fullest, even you." She said and playfully scuffed her pack mates hair with a smile. "I will join the celebration soon." She said lightly and led her mind reader towards Noctis and his sister Savannah. "My mind reader will read Savannah's mind now... I wish for her mind to be read swiftly so she can go rest." Coventina said to Noctis and smiled reassuringly, her eyes conveying her wishes to do this swiftly to keep his sister safe.

((I figured that they would only be able to read minds if they were within close proximity. Like ... same room sort of thing. If not, then it's not limited, and they would be "God-Modding" and unable to be stopped. IT would be very powerful. It's much easier if we just have them "concentrate" and read minds through touch, or while a few feet away.
Only when told to by their alphas, too. ;)))

Noctis nodded, looking as irritated as ever. "The sooner we finish this, the sooner we can stop them." The Earth alpha crossed his arms and stepped aside, his maroon eyes darting to Jazereth. "Come on, then. Let's get her thoughts sifted through."
It wasn't going to be pleasant. Or, it usually wasn't, anyway. Especially if someone was unwilling to share information, thoughts, memories, or feelings. Mind readers could do all the nitty gritty things that a normal mind-link couldn't do. They could actually search through the "files" of ones' mind instead of just getting a base impression or instant message.
Noctis grabbed Landon's arm, pulling the scrapper away from his alpha. "Get out of the way, pup."
Landon's blue eyes were wide as he stared at Jazereth. It was far too risky to send a message to her without the others picking up on it. He could only hope and pray that the woman's memories would link up with the ones he created for both himself and Savannah.
Speaking of Savannah ...
Landon pulled away from Noctis, silently stepping closer to the girl. He placed a hand on her arm, his mind immediately breaking into hers with what felt like a mental tear. It was brief, and a swift process. He changed her memories while everyone else was busy focusing on Jazereth.
They couldn't find out that Landon was the spy. The thought that it was possible was making him nervous.
-
Navi left them, returning shortly with her mind reader. There was only one in her clan, just as there was only one for the Earth clan. Navi gestured to Savannah, and the male mind reader approached her with a calming smile.
The male mind reader, Sel, gently put a hand on Savannah's shoulder. "When should we begin?" The question was directed at Navi, but the Wind alpha looked to Coventina.
"When Jazereth is finished," Navi said quietly.
Sel nodded, and then looked to the Water clan's mind reader. Offering his assistance, he lifted a hand and placed it on Jazereth. He wouldn't interfere, but he would certainly boost the potency of whoever's powers were doing the digging.
-
Sona laughed when Coventina scuffed her hair. Slowly moving away from the gathering alphas, she bumped into a rather large form. Another male mind reader. The Earth clan reader.
The blue-haired girl offered an apology before slipping away. She wasn't too fond of big, freakishly irritated men.
When she finally found the person she was looking for, Sona stepped closer. "Roulan," she said in greeting, smiling tensely. Frost covered her features again, like a defensive armor. "The alphas keep telling everyone to enjoy the Feast." She hesitated. "Do you want a cold drink?"

Roulan sighed and opened his eyes "yes a cool drink would be nice" he smiled and took Sonas hand."It would be nice to share a drink with you" his cheeks turned a slight shade of red when he said that. "I wonder what commotion was going on" he thought to himself but then turned his focus back to Sona.

Coventina nodded watching Noctis and then looked to Jazereth. She nodded to the mind reader of her clan, the best they had, and she was still a young pup. Only 18, and in the last attack, blinded. The beauty stood a good head above Coventina, like most wolves did, her hair was a gorgeous lavender that grew darker in shade with every inch to her waist, looking almost black. The wind blown curls shaped her tanned features, they were angled in a wise way, and the scar upon her face looked as if it barely happened more then an hour ago, but it was obvious that even with the best healers, some wounds, couldn't be healed. Her once piercing green eyes were dulling, and she wore a simple white dress, with a blue ribbon around her waist. "Star, please read the Fire Alpha's memories... Those only that seem linked to the happenings linked to the Vengeance." She said gently.
If one hadnt realized the girl was blind at first, they would soon understand. The young girl had not released Coventina's hand, and looked unsteady. Even with her other senses hightening to make up for her lost eyesight, she still was not used to it yet. She still had to be led. Gently leading the young girl forward, the Water Alpha lovingly placed the clasped tanned hand onto the shoulder of Jazereth. Stepping away, she watched Star settle herself, but get startled by the other mind reader. But soon she turned her head to him and smiled. "Thank you." She said, and with that, her body glowed a faint purple hue, and soon it invaded the fire alpha. The girl was quick, and thorough. She left nothing of the recent year and a half untouched, and only touched little prior, for their were little clues leading to betrayal. It was a painful process, but the teen soon retracted her auora, and Coventina gently pulled her to her side once more. The girl leaned against her alpha gratefully, and then Coventina nodded. "Now the rest." The alpha said and nodded to Navi.

Navi nodded to her own mind reader, and the dark-skinned male turned his attention fully toward Savannah. "Be gentle, Valen."
As Valen began, the Wind reader began to sing softly. The words were merely about how the breeze gently toyed with the earth, but the tune was so ... calming. It was misleading, really. The calm was merely a way to coax the mind to relaxing, and once he found the right memories, he would strike. Dark hands hovered on either side of Savannah's head as he tried to pick up on the thoughts. Finally, he saw the event. Playing through every detail, he frowned.
Savannah would be experiencing a horrible headache, as well as any emotions from the event that they were witnessing in her mind's eye. Strangely enough, Valen saw the Vengeance clan attack the trio. Nothing more; nothing to link them to a spy. When he combed through the memories again, the dark-haired male finally released his hold on her.
"Nothing," he breathed, looking curious. "They were attacked."
Navi turned her gaze to Noctis. Now for the third, final witness. Surely they were missing something. Or was this just one of Vengeance's ploys to turn them against one another? Nothing destroyed a people faster than internal conflict.
Noctis smiled slightly, motioning for his mind reader to step forward. This one was a woman. She looked ... well, eager. "Do what needs to be done."
Landon backed off, looking frightened. Who wouldn't be, in all reality? Mind reading was a painful process, and Landon knew that his memories were far too splintered to get a good grasp on. He prayed that everything would match up properly. His blue eyes lingered on Jazereth, wishing and hoping that whatever memories she had formed had nothing to do with his betrayal.
The woman stepped forward, circling Landon. The scrapper shivered lightly, his gaze shooting back to Jazereth. Swallowing thickly, the youth couldn't keep himself still. When a warm hand grasped the back of his neck, he nearly yelped in surprise.
"Down," the woman said, pushing until Landon was on his knees. That was when she broke into his mind. The Earth reader was more violent than the others. There was no coaxing, no care for the delicate paths of the mind, and no caution. Instead, the woman just stomped all over his thoughts, making it particularly difficult to tell where she was looking next.
Landon began to shake as he "relived" the changed memories. Something was fraying. Something in here didn't match up. The reader seemed to feel it, too. Landon cried out as she viciously grabbed hold of the emotions and impressions he'd felt throughout the event. He felt a droplet of moisture slide down the side of his jaw as he strained to keep his mind from breaking. No longer was he able to focus on his memories - he was fighting for his sanity.
He couldn't cry out for help - he couldn't turn his attention away from his center of mind without losing it. The Earth mind reader was trying to crush him, or so it seemed. The pain was beyond anything he'd felt before. On his knees, the scrapper suddenly opened his eyes. Unfocused, they locked on Jazereth.
Desperation filled his gaze. A single mental message was sent, and it carried the pain and desire he felt. "Make her stop!" Landon cringed, knowing that his reader had seen the message. He was brought to his hands and knees with a single lash of energy. I can't take this. Landon struggled to keep his mind intact for what felt like an eternity.
((I figured that Landon's mind would be riddled with small droplets here and there that led everythign to the truth. Also, I'm just being unnecessarily cruel with this woman. xD))
-
"What's your favorite flavor?" Sona asked, giving his hand a squeeze. It was strange holding someone's hand. She'd never cared to do it before, except in a friendly way between the other girls. They were more like sisters, though. This was different. She felt the frost melt away from her features as a blush warmed her.
"We have many different fruit drinks," she said, trying to distract herself from the strange feelings. "And there is iced water, if you're not in the mood for flavor."
