We Are The Fae (Open)
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...chanted500.jpg The Story of the Fae: In an ancient forgotten time, before the evils of machines or large corporations, a peaceful folk lived amoung the forest of Tanana (TUH-NAH-NAH). They were know in their time as; the Fae, fairy folk. Standing at compairible hights with the humans we know today, these people living in harmony with the forest and cared for it. The fae are magical folk, each possesing a special power the coisides with nature. Each fairy using their power to improve their lives in the forest and preserve the sacred peace of the woods. Now; an evil has filled the land and is moving into the forest of Tanana. As predicted by the wise man of the fae, 'The wingless-fairies move onto the land. They rape her of her breathe by destroying trees and devour her gifts of live. Peace will be lost should the devestation be aloud to grow. The ways of old are threatened, and things can only end through suffering.' The fae kingdom is more like a village but it is surrounded by high stone walls, a waterfall and the only way out is the guarded pather. The kingdom is made up of homes made of natural materials, but the castle is carved INTO the mountain that surrounds the village of the kingdom. About 5 miles from there is the shore where the human have settled. The Story of the Humans: The time had come to set out on their mission to find new land in the name of Grazora. A small village's worth of people gathered their things and boarded the large ship and set out for the green continent across the ocean. As they set out for their new world; men, women and children alike filled their minds with dreams of their new homes. As the made land fall in the new world, men began to tear down the trees of Tanana to build homes for their families. In less then a year, a small settlement had formed and was expanding into the forest. Few sightings of the fae had been recorded in the nine months and most humans in the settlement only believe the wild claims to be mindless hallucinations. The settlement on the beach of the green continent is still rather basic. Homes are log cabbins for most, but those with money live in large multi story homes close to the water front. The roads are pea stones that have begun to sink into the ground as horses and human feet pack them into the ground. They've been here for a year now, and their foot hold is growing steadily. OPENING POST "It was early spring when they first started to come here. It's unbelievable how much devistation can be cause in just one season. I fear that by the turn of the first leaf, our way of life will be greatly change, as is told by the trees." In the dim lit hut of the elder Kaigen, the elder man paced wildly around his home as he spoke to his grand daughter, Absynthia. The brunette fairy dressed in bright green watched anxiously as her grand father rushed about. "Please calm down Grand Father." The young woman begged the man. "Hope is not lost. This land is ours, by laws of the Mother. Protection is one of the reasons we've been given these amazing gifts. You told me that remember" Syn stood from her seat at the table and handed Kaigen an empty wooden cup. "All things will be alright in the end, Grand Father. If it's not alright, it's not the end." She leaned in and kissed the man on his cheek and made her way to the door. Stepping outside, Syn felt the warm summer sun warm her skin. She stretched her back and looked around the fairy village hidden in the woods of Tanana. For a rather primative people, life here was simple yet every need was adiquitly met. Syn began to walk around the village to see what the other fae where up to. ----- On the coast of the green continent, Mayor Matherson had set up his estate with his wife and his son, Andrew. Andrew's bedroom window looked out over the bay of the ocean and he often enjoyed watching the waves crash to shore in his spare time, alone in his room. Today, however, his alone time was the last of his desires. A part of hunters had gathed the day before as asked him to accompany them on their hunt the fallowing day. Naturally, Andrew's curiosity had the better side of his judgement and he agreed to join them. He waited for Leo in the small market. |
Blake stood at the entrance to the Fea kingdom, as he often did now that the wingless fae were here, tearing their land apart and destroying the land that they all had taken care of. The darkly clad male crossed his arms as his wings flutter on his back some as the adjusted how the were sitting. He couldn't see anything, though the darkness whispered to him, telling him that something was stirring and about to happen. He quickly turned his head, putting an arm out as he stopped someone from leaving the kingdom, the black cloth over his blind eyes picked up slightly in the breeze. "All fae are not allowed to leave unless it is very important." he said to the person in a very serious voice.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leo had tied his long black hair back with a leather thong as he walked out of his hidden home in the woods, he personally staked out a large area of land and built his own home, not wanting all the trees to be destroyed and wanting privacy as well. He scanned the trees, having swore up and down last night that he had saw something flying through the woods that looked slightly human, not seeing anything, he tied his knife onto his belt, shoving another one into his boot as he tucked a flintlock rifle into a leather casing that was on his back. His amber eyes narrowed, thinking he saw something moved, shaking his head as he just brushed it off as a bird, he turned away from it as he started to make his way to the market. He didn't plan on having Andrew come with them on the hunt, but the other guys wanted him too, but he also knew as one of the guys friends that he had to look out for him and help him out when needed, after all he knew that Andrew didn't really hunt. "Andrew, i thought i told you to bring a gun and a knife." he said to the male as he came up behind him, of course he was really quiet, as was habit from hunting since he was 8. |
Leo startled Andrew when he spoke behind him. With a jump, the well dressed shaggy haired brunette stood from the wall he'd been leaning against. Andrew turned and faced Leo with a nervous smile, he began to fiddle with the leather at the end of his walking cane.
"Oh, Leo, you gave me a start." Andrew ran a hand threw his air and only occationally made eye contact with the intimidating black clad male. "Uh, I don't own a gun but I did bring a knife." He pulled a kitchen steak knife from his pocket and unwrapped it from a red hankerchief. Presenting it to Leo, he could imediately tell that he'd done something wrong. Andrew hadn't ever been hunting more then twice in his life and when it came to anything physical, he was at a loss. Far from idiotic, Andrew had been raised in the way of books, paper work and diplomacy. There never had been any need for him to own a gun or hunting knife, never-the-less learn how to use them. Dispite his education, he was still so curious about the world, and he felt this adventure into the woods would be just the thing he needed to add a little excitement into his life. |
"Oh how do you do that blake?" Finx asked the guardian she had been so sure she would get past him this time. "Every time no matter how quiet I am you still hear me." she sighed she knew she would get in trouble for trying to take off again but she hated being stuck in the kingdom.
|
Blake turned his head to the source of the voice, a slight smile crawling onto his face as he patted Finx on the shoulder."I have my talents, Finx. I am the Guardian after all. It is not safe to go out there today, so stay in the kingdom and water the gardens." he said to her as he nudged her back towards the Kingdom, his head turning to the side back to the outside forest as he thought he heard something.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leo smiled slightly as he chuckled at how his friend jumped at him suddenly coming up behind him. He cocked an eyebrow as he looked his friend over, shaking his head at his attire, even more he was amused to see the knife that he had brought along with him. "Andy, my dear friend. First lets go back to your house, you need less well fancy clothes." he said to him as he put the steak knife in his boot before pulling another hunting knife out of the opposite boot as he handed it to him. "As for a gun.....i am pretty sure your dad has a gun that you can use." he said to him as he patted him on the back and motioned to his large stately home that over looked the ocean as he started to steer him towards it. |
Sophia wiped down the counters at the clinic almost compulsively. She chewed slightly at her lip as she watched the clock. Several of the hunters were heading out today, and it seemed like every time someone returned hurt. It baffled her how terrible of luck they had out there. Shaking her head, Sophia opened the door and turned the sign over, officially opening the clinic.
|
"Can't I stay out here? It's so borring in the castle all they do is talk and talk this is more fun." Finx said with a pout blake had been a guardian for as long as she could remeber and she liked talking to him plus he was cute. "I think they may be trying to marry me off again." she made a face at the thought.
|
Andrew blushed slightly at the reaction he'd gotten from Leo. This man must of thought of him as such a oaf by now, it was a pitty as Andrew really looked up to him.
"I suppose you're probably right." Andrew said as he pulled on his clothes looking them over. He'd always been told to dress his best and fit the occasion, but this wasn't an occasion he knew how to dress for. The young males entered the estate and up the grand stare case to where the sleeping quarters where located. Andrew's room was the last on in a long hall that seemed like it stretched the length of the beach just outside. The large room was painted blue and spotless. A small area rug in the center of the floor off set the green curtain and bed spread. In the corner there was a dress along with an area to wash up in the morning and end of the day. The large white bowl was still wet from earlier when Andrew had readied himself to begin the day. "You're welcome to search the estate for any sort of gun while I change." Andrew told Leo as he began to search his starch pressed clothes that hung neatly in his closet. Finding something less fancy was going to be a chalange. ----------------------- |
"You don't have to go back to the castle but you can't go outside the gate, Finx." Blake said to her as he smiled softly, patting her on the head before he walked back to his post, seeming to look around as he ran a hand through his white hair, pulling a piece of darkness out of his hair as well.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Don't worry, hopefully we can make a hunter out of you yet. Even if it is just small game." Leo said to him as he chuckled, patting him on the back as he followed him into the his room, he wasn't surprise by how the place look, considering they were the richest family in the colonies. "Okay just wear some really old clothes that you would use for like ridding or helping out in the yard." he said to him as he chuckled, patting him on the back as he nodded at him, moving to go search for a gun. He looked the place over, keeping an eye out for any sort of weapon that was a gun, hoping that he could give it to his friend, wanting him to at least be able to protect him self from creatures that have been hurting his fellow hunters. |
Andrew slipped on some old clothes that he hadn't worn since he finishing school and joined Leo in the search for a gun. Between his room and his parents room was his father's study. It was the typical large library with a large arm chair and a oak desk. Above the fire place, between the large book shelves, there was an old riffle and a small bag of ammo.
"Oh here." Andrew said retrieving them from the shelf. He turned and returned to the hall way and called for Leo. "I found this old thing, what do you think? Will it do?" |
It was early in the morning, a young girl was hard at work created a rather large sword. She had been at work on it for three days. She makes weapons for her mother to sell and she told her to make some very large ones that could take out a group of enemies. Then take them to the castle to sell them. Of course she never left the village. There was no need to. She was beautiful girl, with big muscles and looked so much like a boy, even dressed like one, that you couldn't tell unless she spoke. She was starting to get all sweaty from working the forge all morning, but she didn't mind it. Girls apparently liked seeing her all hot and sweaty.
|
"What was that?" Leo called as he came back up the stairs from the so called man cave, which was just a room where old men retired to with a bunch of other old men to smoke and talk about things that they didn't want the women to know about, he didn't understand such things considering the fact that well, he was a more straight forward kind of guy. He went back of the stairs and down the hallway towards the male so that he could see what he was talking about. He took the old rifle as he looked it over, frowning a little bit before he smiled at his friend that was more of a brother then a friend. "This should do fine, just have to take it to the blacksmith to make sure that there is nothing mechanically wrong with it." he said to him as he grinned, patting him on the back as he gave him a wink, knowing fully well how his "little brother" felt about Shuzinie after all they both were the same age.

Next to the blacksmiths workshop, in an empty alley, a young white haired man was woken up by the sound of metal being pounded into shape. Link, the so called street-rat, dusted off his obviously worn red suit and did his best to clean himself up. Appearance really didn't matter though, everyone here knew him as the urchin who slept in the dirt. He was a kind boy with a good heart who work hard for the little money he had.
Link walked out of the alley and looked into the workshop. He took notice of the tom-boy hammering the metal and how large her muscular arms where. He wondered if his weak arms would ever swell like that. Puberty is going to have to start working miricle, he tought to himself as he looked around the dusty colony. He walk into the work shop and looked at the girl that he assume to be a man. "Excuse me, sir? I was wondering if I could get you to forge me a nine-inch dagger and use this leather around the handle and sheath." Link offered up a long piece of black leather and a few brass coins. "If it's not enough I can pay the rest when I return to pick it up." ---------------------- With a hard gulp, a red face and a quick snatch of the rifle; Andrew turned away from Leo with an agitated huff. Surely he was only teasing him, Andrew knew that, but having his emotions called into question when he only thought of the girl as a friend always made him hot under the collar. "Surely you do chide, Leo. She's just a friend, you know that. Besides, she's got her mother to support and I'm just not looking for that sort of thing right now you know." Andrew made his way toward the door and opened it quickly. He didn't want to dwell on the thought nor did he want to waste any more time here in the heart of the settlement. The forest was calling him, there was so much to explore still! |
Rosemary sat in her garden, where she grew the few vegetables that she would sell at the market for food and clothing.her tomatoes were coming along nicely, but her carrots needed some attention.standing up, she looked at the small one bedroom cabin she had built almost by herself, with a little help from the carpenters son.it was the smallest home in the colonies, and it was isolated, located just inside the forest by the beach, at the very farthest edge of the settlement.the closest house to her was the mayors, but she never went there.the rich families never wanted to associate with the odd orphan girl who preferred the forest over human company.Rosemary avoided going out in public as much as possible, not liking the looks she always got from people who wondered about her hair."today." She decided."today I am going into the forest." The forest had called to her since the moment the settlers had arrived, but she had always been too afraid to answer that call.today, she was going to put aside that fear.the call was too strong.not bothering to put on shoes, she simply started walking, letting her feet guide her.it was impossible, she knew, but she felt like she knew the forest, like she had some destination in mind.at one point she even thought she heard voices.suddenly, she felt a pang of boredom and discontent that had nothing to do with her.she knew instantly what it meant.empathy pains had plagued her her whole life- another reason she stayed away from people.she stopped and concentrated.it was too defined to be an animal, but much too strong to be human.it was decidedly female, but female what? She started walking towards the source of the feeling.the idea of fae never even crossed her mind, until she stumbled and landed on her butt right in front of a very handsome winged man with a blindfold.behind him was a winged girl of incomparable beauty, and she was stricken with the realization that it was that girl whose feelings she had picked up.in a disjointed sort of way, it occurred to her why they were called "fair folk" in legends.they were far more beautiful than any human.it was an ethereal beauty, something that seemed almost dreamlike."hello there." She said dazedly.
|
Leo chuckled as he easily let the gun go as his friend took it from him, laughing as he slowly followed him out of the home, a grin on his face, he couldn't help teasing the male. "All i am saying Andy is that there are not that many girls in this village and she is one of the good ones." he said to him as he laughed some more, clapping him on the back as they headed down the dusty road that was laid out before them, his eyes scanned the village, noting everyone that was in it. "I still think that you should find someone. It may do you some good, besides she is one of the most adventurous girls your going to find here." he said to him as he pulled his knife out and started to pick at his nails with it.
------------------------------------------------------- Blake frowned, his head jerking towards a certain direction, he cursed considering the day just started but he couldn't really use his power to make the person lost and his daughter wasn't there to use her power to blind anyone that came upon them. So the male did his best to make it as dark as he could with the morning light seeping into the forest. It was a failed attempt as he heard someone go crashing to the ground, his black wings flew open as he shield Finx from the person, taking a deep breath as he let it out slowly. It took all his strength to pull the darkness around them, to hide them from the female, already hearing whispers within the darkness, though he didn't show it as what was shown of his face began to look deadly. "You have no right to be here, human. You are better off leaving this place and living else were. Forget what you have seen." he said to her in an equally as mysterious voice that seemed to echo as he spoke, he was clearly very protective, dead serious and not wanting such a confrontation like this at the moment, it was far to early after all. |
The conversation Leo insisted upon was making Andrew uncomfortable. The thought of marrage, or even dating, was beyond him. He had his books, his studies, and there was still so much about this new world to learn. What was so important about settling down anyhow? It was just something he wasn't ready to face.
Andrew and Leo arrived at the blacksmith's work shop a few moments later, the white haired boy was still in the shop waiting to purchase a weapon. Link looked at Leo in awe, knowing undoubtedly that he was a hunter. "Andrew!" Link said, finally taking notice of the younger male. He walked over to him and looked up into his eyes with a young friendly smile. "It's good to see you again! Are you getting ready for a hunting trip?" Andrew was one of the few in the settlement who treated Link as an equal. "Sure are, that is if Shu gives it the okay." Andrew patted Link's white hair and gave Shu a begging playful look, asking her to look the gun over threw the indirect comment he'd said to the boy. |
Rosemary gasped at the sudden darkness."h-hey! I can't see....wait, yes I can.how odd." She said, noticing that she suddenly felt a warmth, accompanied by a silvery glow around her body that allowed her to see in the unnatural dark."now this is unexpected." She stood up and dusted herself off before attempting a clumsy but acceptable curtsy."I apologize for stumbling in like that.my name is Rosemary.I felt someones boredom come from over here, and...I probably sound insane, don't I? I have empathy, you see and...oh, this isn't going right! I knew something big would happen today, but this? This is beyond what I dreamed.and now I'm glowing like the moon.sorry, sounding insane again." She stammered, unable to express with words that which she had never explained before.
|
Inside his home, Kaigen could feel a shift in the balance of the forest. There was a human withing their borders and it made him rather unsettled. Kaigen grabbed his walking stick from the wall he'd leaned it up against and headed out to find Blake. Surely the guardian of the fae would know what was going on. Slowly the old man made his way into the thick trees that surrounded the fae kingdome.
|
Dressed in a Black Smith Apron not many could notice her delicious curves, although she didn't look it, she could life a sword that was three times her body weight. Her face was all greasy from working with another weapon that a cross between a gun, a sword, and a chainsaw. It was an experimental weapon she made for herself with all the mechanics of a gun, the functions of a chainsaw attached to the blade. It was a very big and powerful weapon. That was until she heard voices.
"A nine inch dagger?" When she spoke her voice came off very soft, unlike the rugged voice her father had, sure she was burly, but she was still female. "Why don't you take one off the shelf there, they're free today only." Then more people came in, "What did you want again?" At times Shu's brain would trail off and get lost somewhere else, this was one of those moments. |
Andrew's head drooped slightly from the girl's air headed responce.
"We're going hunting, we need you to look my father's gun over and make sure everything is in working condition." He explained to Shu. Choosing to ignore her comment about the strange invention, Andrew handed the mayor's gun to the tom-boy blacksmith. Link, who had been standing at his side, had made his way over to the counter again and was looking threw some of the free daggers Shu had offered him. He chose one and began to wrap the black leather around it, fassioning a belt loop so he could ware the weapon on his him. |
Finx half hid behing blake peek around his should to stare to the girl. "Blake thats a changling" as the future queen it was her job to be able to spot changlings and help them come home. "and she's glowing like the moon i've never seen such a power."
|
Blake frowned even more as he kept a tight hold on Finx's arm, listening to what she was saying to him, after a couple of minutes he let the darkness die down, also letting the princess go. "Princess Finx......you know that what you see is something i will never see. Changeling or not.....she may have brought others with her, non-fae others." he said to her, a very serious look on his face as he stood firm, not letting the changeling come into the kingdom or letting the princess out as was his job. "Rosemary......is it? You came home at a very bad time." he said in that all to familiar blank voice of his, he did how ever turn towards the side and bow some towards Kaigen. "Elder, i did not expect you out here today. Rosemary is a changeling according to our princess....though i say she is still human." he said to the elder as he went back to his position.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Have you seen my dad?" Isadora said to Absynthia as she bumped into the girl, giving her one of her sunny smiles, one of the sad things about having a power opposite of her father was that it made it all very hard for her to find him. "Oh how are your plants doing? Are they getting enough sunlight?" she said to her as her wings fluttered some as she giggled in a bubbly way, she then hugged the green clad woman as her golden eyes looked up at her happily. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leo grinned as he watched his friend, clapping him on the back once more as he laughed loudly, walking into the the shop as he stayed quiet, letting Andrew do all the talking as he quietly stood out the way. He watched as Link moved over to Andrew and begin to talk to him, he wanted to say something but he tended to just be the silent type for the most part when around a lot of people, only talking when he needed to say something."Shu, just make sure that the gun is in good condition. Don't need my little brother having to go to the hospital cause a gun exploded in his face." he said as he chuckled, rocking slightly on his black booted feet before he went over to where Link was at, setting the steak knife on a higher shelf and picking up another hunting the money for it on the counter after he made sure it was balanced just right for his hand. "Link.....you need to make sure the blade is balanced just right for you. Like this." he said to the younger male as he smiled, flipping the knife in his hand as he caught the hilt of it once more. |
