Once upon a time, there lived 4 kingdoms. Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. The 4 kingdoms have been at war for many of centuries even before their fore fathers. But they all want this war to end. So the Councils all came to together and decided that the kingdoms were going to join together by marriage, hoping to end this century war. Before the heirs were born the Councils and the parents decided who they were going to marry. Fire and Water, Wind and Earth.

Will the heirs agree? Will they marry their enemy's son or daughter for the sake of their kingdom? Or will they fall in love with a peasant? Or even a kingdom far away?

Bio: Rose is the only child of the King and Queen of the Fire Kingdom. She is their pride and joy and they want her to marry into the Water Kingdom so they can stop the war that has been going on for years. Rose does feel like its her duty to marry the Prince of the Water Kingdom but she's not really sure if she wants to. When Rose doesn't have her nose in the books she's out in the garden tending to her Rose Garden, her parents gave to her when she was 10. Rose doesn't know about the attack her kingdom did on the Wind Kingdom, killing the young prince. And she doesn't know about the Water or Earth attack either. Her family is trying to keep that away from her so she can go threw with the marriage, they're afraid that when she finds out that she would back out of it. So now her kingdom's dark past is starting to catch up with her in the present.

Varun was like any other noble. The moment his hands were capable of gripping objects, he was taught how to use melee weapons and fist fighting. He learned from manipulating droplets of water, to parting the sea in half. Everything and anything a growing prince needs.

At an early age, Varun was taught the world can be unfair. Varun had lost his darling little sister from a gruesome death by the hands of a Wind soldier. They were at a village playground, when an attack happened, and he watched how she was sliced into pieces by just a gust of sharp wind. The Wind Kingdom had to be the only nation he hated.

As Varun grew older, he learned to respect and fear the other two kingdoms in preparation of the Grand Wedding. The Fire Kingdom for their great battle methods and strategies, The Earth Kingdom for their vast quantities of rich soil. The Wind Kingdom, no matter how much the council tried to convince him with, he never forgave them.

Bio: Ishiga grew up sheltered, his day always seemed to consist of training in the martial arts and etiquette. He hadn't been exposed to the wars or anything that went on between the kingdoms. The only time he was really allowed outside of his training grounds was when his family had visited, as the story was told to him, a wind temple. He had started, in his own way, to throw rocks a few monkeys out of boredom and in a way practice of his martial arts, when he suddenly felt himself sliding across the floor then nothing. Later that day he woke to his parents furious at something though he didn't know what till a few weeks later when his parents started installing a hate of the wind kingdom inside him. Since that day they had kept him training every waking hour so that he could defend himself if wind attacked, or if his kingdom attacked some other kingdom. His family to prevent a full scaled war engaged him to the Princess of the Wind kingdom though he has little interest in the engagement.

A young man sat at one of the benches at the castle gardens, surrounded by oak and willow. He faced a large pond of clear, crystal water; the surface shined against the lazy morning sun. Exhaling a contented sigh, Varun tipped his head backwards to lean back comfortably, raising his smooth and pointed chin. Today was the day where he'll meet his fated fiance, an arranged marriage secured by his parents and the Fire Kingdom.

Varun felt the relationship was ironic - why would they match him together with a Fire bender? Everybody knows what happens between crackling flames and a bucket of water. Oh well, the Fire Nation happened to be their worse enemies before, but they could become the most powerful allies if this 'marriage' plan was successful. Who knows? Maybe the both of them can take on the Wind clan together..

"Lord Lucerne!"

Ah, that's my call, Varun told himself as he pushed himself up from his seat, stretching out a bit. The maids are quite early, the appointment is still hours away. He strode back to the palace to get dressed in a more formal attire.

Sighing softly, Ambrosia would sit in her room, looking at herself in the mirror as her First Lady brushed and combed her hair. She just came to learned that the 4 councils have talked to the 4 Kingdoms for the heirs to join in marriage. She knows as her duty as the heir is to do anything to protect her kingdom. But she would have to marry into the Water Kingdom, her family's number one enemy. So many thoughts came to her mind when she pictured herself marrying the heir of the Water Kingdom, but her last thought, It's for the kingdom. Looking into the mirror, Rose notices that her First Lady was done with her hair. Two braids would be connected behind her head as the rest of her hair was curled. Standing up she would walk out of her room because her First Lady told her that her parents wanted to speak with her. A ball was being held in the honor of the Princesses and the Princes. They probably wanted to talk to her so she could help them plan. The King and Queen of each kingdom had to give a special speech to their soon to be son-in-law or daughter-in-law.

"Yes Father..Mother?" Rose says softly as she enters her father's study, her mother by his side as they both looked at some documents.

The morning was cool and Isiga woke to a light breeze coming into his window, he shook his head to free the cobwebs of sleep and stretched. He got of bed and got dressed going for a jog before he sat down for breakfast with his family, which was a silent meal as always. After breakfast he silently walked to his training room and started his morning rituals of practicing martial arts and fine tuning his moves. He had been told that he was to be married to the princess of the wind kingdom, it made him angry though he wasn't supposed to show it. So he took out everything on his martial arts and dummies for training. He hated the wind kingdom, they had attacked him in their temple, though he never found out why, and he never forgot that. While Isiga was practicing with his weapons he was interrupted by his father walking in and motioning to him that he should stop and come with his family for a family meeting.

Maids backed away as they admire their work of art; Prepping the Prince for the grand ball. Prince Varun ran a palm over the golden buttons of his crisp navy blue shirt, the sleeves ran down to neat cuffs at the end of his wrists. His long wavy hair was neatly tied into a low pony-tail, which dangled up till his shoulders. He wore black trousers, held up with a leather belt and black boots that were rimmed with even more gold. He did look quite grand.

"Prince Lucerne, you look quite handsome," one of the maids said. Varun glimpsed at her through the mirror, green-gray eyes piercing through.

"Quite?" he inquired.

The maid realized her foolishness, and tried to search her words. "I mean, you look astoundingly handsome, sire," she corrected herself, smiling sheepishly.

Varun smiled contentedly. Perfect.

At that moment, the king stepped in to check up on his son. "Varun, my boy," he greeted, ignoring the maids who had bowed down. Varun faced him, showing him his attire, and the king nodded in approval.

"I hope you're ready for tonight," The king continued. "And remember - please do try not to blow your head at the sight of Princess Maynai; I'm very sure she has done absolutely nothing to you."

Varun frowned. He knew his father was going to remind him, but it just made him feel like drowning her lungs in water even more. His father motioned him to come closer, as if he was going to show him something.

Her mother and father would look up at her once she entered the room. Her mother would smile softly and would motion her to take a seat beside her. Slowly she would make her way towards her and sit in the empty chair beside her. Her father would put down the paper work that he was looking at and take off his reading glasses, before looking at her. "Now Rose, you know that the Ball is this evening correct?" How could Rose forget. Her parents haven't let her forget since they remind her every time they see her "Yes sir, I know that the ball is evening" The ball were she was going to meet her future husband, the prince of the Water Kingdom,Lucerne. Her mother take her hand softly and smiles "We have arranged for you to have your dress fitted this afternoon, please don't forget. We want you to look absolutely beautiful for your future husband." With a nod, Rose would kiss both of her parents' cheeks before leaving the room. "Today shall be an interesting day..." she says softly to herself, heading towards the garden.

Isiga nodded to his father and slowly walked into a large room, his whole family stood around a table. The room had dim lighting, as they entered the family smiled and every one bowed to each other. "Son... you know that you must marry the wind kingdoms princess, no matter how you feel about it." his father said solemnly. Ishiga nodded and sighed, "I still dont like it, but i understand why." Isiga's mother smiled and handed a small gift over the table to him, "This is a robe that is of our finest quality and you will be wearing it tonight to the ball." Isiga nodded taking the box and bowing deeply. "Ill meet you when we are ready to leave, i must get ready." Isiga said softly before bowing once again and heading out towards his room.

The sun has dipped itself low into the horizon, the sky has turned a reddish-purple hue and stars were just about to reveal themselves. The carriage was waiting outside the castle door and soldiers have just laid down the bridge to go over the river which surrounded the palace. Escorted with maids and butlers at his side, Varun walked into the vehicle which would send him to the home of the Four Councils.

On the ride, Varun felt his nervousness building. He usually doesn't fret about these things - women here and there from his kingdom swoon for him, but this.. this is different.

"We're here, sire," the driver said, pulling the reins of the horses to a halt. The carriage door opened, and Varun held his breath as he entered the ball. His eyes wandered around in search of Princess Ambrosia. His parents have given him a detailed description of her, so this part shouldn't be so hard to do. He also scanned the room quickly for the Earth Prince - perhaps he could have some brotherly company.. If Isiga wasn't busy looking for the Wind Princess.

Ambrosia would stay perfectly still as her maids got her ready for the ball. Her long black hair would be fully curled and run down her back as a small ruby and diamond tiara sat nicely on her head. Her make up was nicely done, her eyes covered in a smokey brown while her lips were a deep red. She smiled softly as she looks at herself in the mirror. She wore a crimson red ball gown with crystals going down the center, the skirt of the dress were in tiers and the fabric flowed loosely. The top was a halter top, making her cleavage larger then what it seem. And attached to the center were two sheer pieces of fabric that acted as sleeves but draped on her arms.

Once her maids were down getting ready, they would take her downstairs to were her parents were waiting for her. They both smiled at her and lead her to the carriage. Climbing aboard, they would head off to the home of the Four Councils. Pulling up, she would noticed that the carriage of the Water Kingdom had already arrived. Taking a deep breathe she would take the driver's hand as she held her and her mother out of the carriage and all 3 of them would walk inside and head towards the main dining hall, where dinner was going to be held.

Isiga walked to his room and looked at himself in the mirror, he really didn't want to marry some one from the wind kingdom. He placed his elegant robes on, staring at himself and hanging his head, this was going to be a hard night he thought to himself. The robe was copper toned to accentuate his piercing green eyes, and he tied it tight with his martial arts belt. He wore sandals tied with leather, tying them tight as he washed his hair letting the dark curls go where they wanted to. Isiga sighed and stood up straight walking out his door and walking to the front door as he met his family there.

His father and mother climbed into a carriage and Isiga followed suit, he was still tense because he wanted to be able to just live his life, but he had to marry this woman he hated instead. Isiga watched as the hills went by and they got closer to the ball, he liked living further out then most and enjoyed the fact that he could live away from the cities. As they reached the home of the Four Councils he stepped out of the carriage and helped his mother out, before bowing to her and his father and heading inside looking for familiar faces, so that he wouldn't have to deal with what was comng.

"There she is," The warm voice of his mother said as the Fire Kingdom's princess entered the hallway. Ambrosia walked in with her own parents side by side. Not too long before them came the family of the Earth Kingdom. Varun swirled the wine in his glass nervously - the Wind Kingdom have not arrived yet. This both irritated and relieved him. When are they coming, so Varun can avoid them? But if they're not coming after all, then that's quite alright for him.

Isiga seemed to be looking around anxiously, so Varun being at a distance gave a little wave just to let the prince know he's here. The two got on quite well in the past - since they both shared a searing hatred for the Wind Kingdom. However, they haven't talked for a while now ever since they had to be prepared for this grand occasion.

Isiga walked inside of the ball and sighed looking around until he noticed a small wave from Varun, he started to make his way over declining as servants tried to give him wine and food. He couldn't eat at a time like this, his stomach was turning all over the time. He greeted everyone that he needed to greet on his way to Varun, as he reached Varun he sighed and smiled slightly. Isiga bowed slightly to greet him before smiling, "Hey Varun, nice to see you here.. Its been a while." he stated while grabbing some water off of a passing plater.

Isiga had always gotten along with Varun and his family hadn't had a hard dispute with the Water Kingdom in a long while. He wondered how Varun was dealing with the fact he was being forced to marry someone as well, "So what are you thinking about all this?" he said while sipping on his water.

Varun bowed back as well, then laughed heartily. "No need to be so formal, old friend," he said, patting Isiga at the back. "Indeed - but it's just been a few years since we've met after all!" He pondered on the Earth Princes question though - how was he really feeling about this.

"Well, if it's going to help stop any future conflicts," he said, choosing his words slowly, "What must be done; must be done." Honestly, he didn't mind marrying the pretty Princess Ambrosia. Although the Fire and Water Kingdoms have held a fierce rivalry against each other for centuries, it was about time the two were educated about how powerful they could be if they joined forces.

"And what of you, Isiga?" he said, after taking a big sip of his wine. "Things obviously don't look too good for you if you're marrying.. her." Varun grimaced at the thought of his best friend marrying the Princess of the Wind.. He pitied him.

Isiga looked up at Varun and smiled, "I'm glad i don't have to be so formal, I've had to be all day." he said smiling and laughing. "Its been a while, but i'm glad that i can be here if not to see you again." Isiga looked over and scanned the crowd, taking a deep breath he nodded, he knew it was to stop conflicts, but he still didn't like it at all. "Me... I.... gah... honestly Varun, I'm not happy at all, I don't know how this will go..." he said as he took a big gulp of water.

"Varun can i confide something in you?" he asked as he lowered his voice so that no once else could hear him, "Im not sure i can go through with this." he said slightly ashamed of his words, but he felt like if he did he would do something that he would regret for ever and he wanted love not forced marriage.

"Now what are you two complaining about?" Rose says smiling as she walked into the room. Their parents were in a meeting with the Council so it gave them some time alone. Walking in, she would walk over to both of them "Its been awhile since we all seen each other don't you think?" she says softly. She would glance over at Varun, he was going to be her future husband. Smiling, she would look over Isiga "Hey Isiga, how you been? Where's your...fiance?" she says softly, feeling slightly sorry for him.

Varun nodded solemnly at Isiga's reply. Of course he couldn't - both boys had experienced something harsh against the Wind Kingdom, something that struck deep into the heart of their memories. Just before he was about to give his friend advice, Rose entered their little circle.

The Water Prince was mildly surprised. He thought Ambrosia would stay with the girls. That and he and Isiga were have a little man-to-man talk. The little childish spirit inside him wailed 'No girls allowed!!', but alas they were too mature for that. Such thoughts were brushed away when he caught Rose throwing little glances at him. Varun wondered how she felt about him; Romantically? Was it platonic?

"Why hello, Rose," he said after she greeted them. "Yes, it has! It's very nice to see you again," Out of politeness, Varun gently took her hand, bent over and kissed the back of it. Standing up straight again, he asked, "How are you doing lately, Rose?"

Isiga looked over at Rose as she approached, sighing as he turned and smiled at her waving slightly. "Its nice to see you again Rose, it has been a long time since we have all been together." he said smiling and bowing down to Rose as Varun greeted her. Isiga smiled and sighed slightly looking at Rose again, "I have been good, I've missed all the fun time we used to have, though as for my wife, i don't really know where she is and well yeah." he said holding his tongue back knowing that there were ears everywhere.

Isiga looked at Rose and in his mind sighed, he knew that he could never have some one like her. Since they had been young kids and they had all hung out he had had a crush on Rose, but he knew he could never say anything to her because of the families and their parents choices of marriages. Instead he kept his words in and kept a slight smile on his face as he watched Rose and Varun's interactions.

Rose would give a soft smile when Varun gave a soft kiss to the back of her hand. "I've been doing well" she says softly, smiling. She looks over at Isiga "I agree with that as well. I miss the old days but...now this whole marriage thing as turned everything around" she says softly leaning against the table. Really she just wanted the war to stop so everyone could live their old lives once again. But that wasn't going to happen anytime soon. Then their parents would come into the room and takes their seat for dinner. Sighing softly she would take her seat beside her mother. Dinner was going to be served soon. Looking across the table she would look at Varun and then at Isiga.
