Neustria was a magical realm that people would dream of going to.

Race may be predominantly human, but other races exist such as elementals, witches, fairies and so forth. The races keep themselves separated though, so one would never see a fairy out in a human district, or a human trying to explore a nonhuman district. None of which are restricted or against laws. Anyone could go out and do either, but it is unheard of. Most people would turn their heads at travelling to a district where their race wasn't the main race, especially because, well, not every race gets along with one another.

This was apparent around twenty years ago when a member of one of the 'magically-gifted' races decided to pull a prank that they thought would be hilarious, but it turned out to be a real nightmare for ten girls in the human district.

Over the course of around ten years, there were ten girls born to some of the wealthier families of the human district. When they were born, the mysterious witch, whorlock or whatever they were, decided to sneak into their houses and put a little spell on each of the babies. They were each given a certain 'gift' that they would be stuck with their entire lives. These gifts were:

1. Obedience, meaning that the girl has to do EVERYTHING she is told and can't avoid it in any way.

2. Friendliness, meaning that the girl can only say things that are nice and friendly, and cannot express any opinion that is negative.

3. Listening, meaning that the girl cannot speak unless she is asked a question, so that she can learn to listen to others.

4. Generosity, meaning that if anyone is in need, even something as little as a quarter, the girl has a sudden urge to give to them and can't stop it.

5. Knowledge, meaning the girl retains information very well and remembers everything. The setback? Almost no social life because of an addiction to studying.

6. Compliance, meaning that the girl is always in agreement with the people around her, even if her usual opinion differs from theirs.

7. Influence, meaning that the girl often copies behaviors of those around her, even the bad ones.

8. Empathy, meaning that the girl feels the emotions of those around her.

9. Honesty, meaning that the girl is unable to tell a lie, however, she is unable to tell anyone about her 'gift'.

10. Safety, meaning that the girl does not do anything dangerous. This one is so extreme that the girl can't drive, play most sports or even date anyone.

The girls know that someone did this to them, because over the course of their lives, they went and got analyzed for their 'conditions'. Witches determined that it is a spell, but they could not do anything because only the witch or whorlock that put the spell on them can remove it. All the girls want to find the person who did that to them, but they aren't quite sure how to go about it. This person has been watching them though... through whatever method they have... visions, crystal balls, nevertheless, this person is enjoying what they have done. So, if the girls actually do find the spellcaster, will the spellcaster even want to take the spell off? I guess we'll find out.

1. No Godmodding! You have your own characters, you control your own characters. Other roleplayers work really hard on their characters, so it would be disrespectful to try to control them.

2. You can have up to two 'gifted' girls, no more unless we still need them after a while please! You can also sign up to be an extra character (please consider doing this so that we have more dynamic). For instance, a parent, a friend, whatever you want!

3. Do not PM me profiles. Please put them in the profile post where they should go. There is also an OOC post for discussion about the topic.

4. Please try to post at least a paragraph. No one liners and please try to have good grammar and so on.

5. Fighting, romance, rivalries... all are accepted, but please do not go too far!

It was a sunny day, and there were barely any clouds in the sky. People were out roaming about in Neustria, enjoying their lives. However, there were two girls who decided to stay inside, as they had decided most days. The girls, Anna and Ally, were twins, but could be differentiated by their respective hair color and lengths.

"Can we please go outside, Anna?" Ally would ask, but her sister would always say no. It would be too dangerous until Alex would come there to escort them around. Too many people around town knew about their 'gifts' and took delight in taking advantage of them. They made Anna do ridiculous and awful things because she was truly unable to disobey. And Ally would be caught in the problems too because she can't disagree with anyone. It was definitely a hard life for them both, but they would pray that the day would come when they'd be able to have their lives the way THEY wanted them.

On the outskirts of town,a quiet,neat little house sat peacefully among it's neighbors.Behind the house,a large and beautiful garden shows it's colors,leaves rustling,wind chimes gently singing as the wind breezes through.In the center of the garden sit's a girl of about seventeen with a ribbon in her long reddish hair.Rosemary Hunter played her flute in the center of her mother's garden,enjoying the expression of the music and the wind in her hair.She was waiting for her brother,Todd,to return from work at the local animal shelter,where they had gotten her pet cat Frisco.Her parents were both away on vacation for their anniversary,leaving Rosie in the care of her brother.As Rosie finished her song,Frisco rubbed up against her leg,purring."Hello Frisco." Rosie said,keeping her words simple as always as she petted the dappled gray cat.It was a peaceful day,but Rosie couldn't help wishing she had some human friends to share it with.Ones who wouldn't be driven away by her truths.

Todd Hunter walked down the street towards his house,hands in pockets,work still on his mind.He wore a simple white t-shirt and old,worn out jeans,perfect for working with animals.Especially animals who could sometimes be difficult.That day,they had brought in a pregnant German Shepherd who had been left behind by a family that had moved out of town.The poor girl was badly malnourished,and at risk of losing her pups,but she wouldn't let anyone near her.Todd had eventually gotten close enough to feed her,and gained enough trust to treat any wounds she had.Todd had that way with animals,they always seemed to trust him.He and his sister,Rosie,both had that special way.Todd worried about the Shepherd,who he had named Daisy,and her pups.He worried about his sister,who had no friends her own age because of a curse of truth that no one could figure out.He worried about her pining for a boy she barely knew.But he put those worries out of his mind as he walked through the house and out to the garden,where he could almost always find Rosemary during the day."Rosie,I'm back.How was your day?" He asked.Simple question for a simple answer.That's how they worked.Rosemary looked up."My day was the same as usual." She replied,using one of many avoidance techniques he had taught her.It was a true answer that she could give without telling him every detail her her day as she normally would.They both smiled and Todd sat down next to his little sister.

In another part of town,a young looking Japanese girl sat on her wide windowsill,made just for that purpose,reading a book.Akira Hana Hoshiko,or Kiki as most called her,was sitting inside her room on such a beautiful day because she was more interested in the history of modern invention,which was the subject of the book in her hands.Kiki was blessed,or maybe cursed,with knowledge,so much knowledge that most people would go insane with it,and a constant need to learn more.Because of this,Kiki was completely incapable of true human interaction,and therefore had no friends,no acquaintances,no one to relate to.She had tried,but she found most humans intolerably boring,and usually kept her interactions with them to a minimum.The most she ever spoke to anyone besides her parents was when someone asked her to repair their computer,or television,or other appliance.Kiki sighed and placed a bookmark in her book,closing it and putting it down.She was finding it difficult to concentrate,with all the thoughts rushing through her mind.Today felt different to her somehow,though she couldn't place just how.As if something would change."What could change so much today that would make me so restless?" she asked herself.Looking out the window,she watched a soft breeze rustle the leaves of the great old oak tree in her back yard,and felt a stirring,like a wind inside of her.A wind of change?

Celeste watch her cauldron the images were of a teenage girl walking from her house into her neighbors back yard. She watched and listened closely, "About time.." the oldest of the girls finally did something, the reclusiveness they were all exhibiting was extremely bothersome, she thought to herself. "Maybe they'll finally come to enjoy their gifts.."


Corina sat in the window of her families old two story house, letting the music pulse through her ear-buds. She sighed softly as she watch Todd and Rosemary, she herself had turned to being home-school about halfway through middle school. She felt estranged to both the brother and sister, to everyone she went to school with. Today was different for her, she had to try. She got out of the window, headed downstairs, set her mp3 player and ear-buds down on the table near the door, grabbed her keys, and headed out to the backyard as she shut the door behind herself.

The backyard had an adjoining gate to the Hunter's residence. She unlatched the gate and headed onto the Hunter property, "Hi, Rosie. Hi, Todd. I know you two knew still lived there, it's just as I got older I got more reclusive." She bit her lip, "Rosie do you remember that weird thing where I could feel peoples emotions. It got so bad when I hit puberty, that I quit going to school. My parent put me into a home schooling program." She smiled, "How have the two of your been?"

Rosemary looked up at the unexpected visitor.Her brother stayed quiet for the moment,curious to see what would happen.Rosie waited for the girl to finish talking,and then spoke,hoping she didn't say anything hurtful."Hello Corina.I do remember those occurrences,and I remember that you were taken away.I remember wondering why you felt things like that,and wondering if you ever felt my emotions,except you didn't have to because I always spoke them." She said,then paused."I cannot speak for my brother,but I have not been doing well overall.That is,I am well in regards to my health and my home life,and mostly to my mental state,however my school life is suffering and my social life is nonexistent.In fact,you are the first person I have spoken with on friendly terms outside of my family in a very long time.Perhaps because of the fact that I have no choice but to tell the truth and nothing but the truth." She added,now blushing a little.Once again,she had begun to ramble,and had given away her own curse.Then again,Corina had hinted at such a curse of her own.

"I'm glad you do. The two of you are the first ones I've talked to since I withdrew from our old middle school. I've done a lot of research, I found out that I'm an empath." She lowered her voice, just in case the neighbors were listening, "I have felt your emotions, but yours never bothered me as much. Yours weren't really kept pent up like most people do and like you just said you tell no lies."

She paused, "Well, if I came out of the house and into your yard, may that be the beginning of a renewed social life. As for school, what do you mean? I'm glad to be the first person you've spoken to outside of your family in a while. There's always good behind the truth, some people just don't see it. It's not your fault that some people don't understand. People that tell nothing both the truth are some of the best people out there, they give the most honest advice, too."

"In school,I have been bullied." Rosie said simply,so as to avoid rambling on again."I suppose you coming here could be the beginning of a new friendship,which may lead to a renewed social life.So I am happy that you came here.It is an advantage for both of us that you can feel my emotions,because it will be easier for me to ramble less,because you will already know my truths..." Rosie managed to take a breath and stop before she ended up rambling again.Gathering her thoughts,she opened her mouth again."Thank you.I try to speak as little as possible,so that I don't speak a truth that will hurt someone.It is difficult when I am incapable of telling any untruth." She said.It struck her that this girl could feel her emotions,and that she had probably felt her feelings about Alexander.She blushed and shut her mouth tight,but she knew it was already too late-she had felt it,so Corina had felt it as well.
Todd,who had been silent up until then,saw where his sister's thoughts had turned and decided to step in."Corina,It was very brave of you to come over here.I certainly appreciate that you would try to be her friend.I've worried for a while now that she didn't have any friends her own age,so it's nice to finally see her interacting with someone." He said with a smile.He saw Rosie staring at him,and knew that for some reason,she was about to give him a truth,though he couldn't figure out what it could be this time."What? Rosie,what is it?"
Rosie held it as long as she could,but the truth had come across her mind,and Todd had asked about it, and now she had to speak it."You gave that smile,Todd,that charming smile that makes girls look at you funny,kind of like the way boys smile in those manga that I read with the sparkles.You must be careful about that smile,because girls will fall in love with you like they always do and then you will have to let them down and fight their brothers or fathers of boyfriends because they want to beat you up again." She said,slightly out of breath at the end of her sentence.
Todd blushed and smiled sheepishly."Oh,I...really? I'm sorry,Rosie,I honestly have no idea when I'm smiling in a certain way.That's just my smile." He explained,touched by his sister's concern."And Corina,I'm sorry if I smiled at you in some way that made you uncomfortable.I certainly didn't mean to." He added,making sure not to alienate their guest.

"People shouldn't be bullying you," She took a deep shaky breath, "Would you like me to come to see you during lunch and sit with you? I finish my homework rather early, I usually have the afternoon's to myself. I could even walk you to and from school if you'd like, I mean if no one can ask you questions you wouldn't have to fear saying it as much."

Corina felt herself smile, for the first time in many months. She even felt a few tears streak down her face before she spoke, "I'm realizing how much I missed being friends with you. God, I missed taking to both of you so much." She paused as she noticed the girl had a crush on someone, but didn't say anything because it was none of her business. She knew Rosie would tell her in due time.

"I'm not trying to be her Friend Todd. We all grew up together, we're all friends. I just lost hope in myself for a spell and I realized I couldn't go on avoiding people for the rest of my life. I wasn't hurting anyone but myself," Cora blushed when he smiled, she had started to remember how she felt about him. To hear his voice made her light up a bit more.

"It's quite alright," she purred as she wiped her tears away. She paused again, "There was another reason I came over here, I wanted to invite the both of you to dinner. You see I bought too much because I thought my parents would be flying home tomorrow night, but their flight got canceled. They didn't say why in the message, I think their phone died."

Rosie looked up,startled at the offer."Yes." She said,without thinking as usual."Yes,if that's ok with you,I'd like it very much if you would walk with me to school,and maybe visit me at lunch.And I would also like very much to have dinner with you,if Todd says it's ok." She said.She was visibly overjoyed that anyone would be so kind to her.
Todd waited for Rosie to finish before speaking."I would be happy to dine with you tonight.Rosie and I can be there whenever you want.Our parents are on vacation for their anniversary,so We're pretty much free.And thank you for the offer,it's very kind of you." He said sincerely.Just then,Frisco meowed."Oh,would you mind too terribly if we brought Frisco along? He can stay outside,but neither of us likes to leave him behind." Todd asked.

"It's more than okay with me, I haven't got anything else to do. Why not spend my free time with friends," She smiled and listened while Todd spoke. "Excellent, you two be at my back door at eight, make sure you bring your appetites. You don't have to bring anything, unless you feel inclined to do so." She paused as her smile grew, "You're very welcome and of course you can bring Frisco. He can come inside, too. There's no sense in leaving him outside, I wouldn't want him to get hurt."

"Well, on that note. I'm going to make my leave and prepare dinner. I'm glad that you're goth joining me, maybe we can all watch a movie afterwards, too."

Before Todd could even open his mouth,Rosie clapped her hands together delightedly."Oh,I haven't watched a movie in so long! I'm always so busy with studying or helping at the animal shelter I haven't even thought of watching a movie I love movies so much! My very favorite movie is Balto,and I just love The Lion King and The Lion King 2,and the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Pirates of the Caribbean series are just amazing-only the first three of the Pirates series,though,those are the best.Oh my gosh,I'm rambling again aren't I? Sorry." She said excitedly.Todd was trying not to chuckle at her enthusiasm.

Corina grinned as she felt how happy Rosie was, "I still have the giant collection of VHS and DVD's. I'll let the two of you pick out the movie or movies, as you'll both be the guests. Heck, if there's room I would love to volunteer at the shelter, maybe even adopt an animal of my own." She paused as thought about it, "My parents said I could have one a while back. That and helping animals means I wouldn't be around that many people."

"No need to apologize, though I'll see the both of you in a bit. I really should make my leave, don't want a half prepared meal when you two arrive. Though, if either of you pop over while I'm cooking, I'll be in and out of the garage. I got a motorcycle a while back, I've been working on it, all it needs now is fresh oil and the license plate to come in the mail."

She walked away and as she did she spoke once more, "Bye Rosie, bye Todd."

Anna began pacing the room while the girls were waiting on Alex to arrive. The girls felt completely safe with him. Otherwise, people around town usually knew about their 'gifts' and would try to purposely manipulate them. This is why Anna never allowed herself and Ally out in public without Alex. He would protect them and ensure that their well-being would be okay.

Pretty soon, a green car pulled up, and the girls were both ecstatic. They knew that this was Alex's car. The blonde boy got out of the car and shut the door, heading up to the girls' house. They came outside to join him and the three sat on the porch.

Rosie and Todd both waved to Corina as she left.They looked at eachother and nodded,then standing up and going inside,where they started getting ready for dinner.They cleaned up and changed their clothes,and Rosie put a blue ribbon around Frisco's neck to make him look handsome.

Akira felt restless and decided,for once,that she would go for a walk.She knew that exercise was good for her,so she went out every once in a while to keep in shape.As she walked,she passed a vaguely familiar house with a green car in front.She remembered instantly that two girls lived there,that the owner of the car was an older boy from school,and that another classmate of hers had an obvious crush on him.She didn't interact with her fellow students,but she liked to observed their behavior sometimes.She wondered if she should go and talk to the girls inside.Akira couldn't figure out why she was having such a spontaneous day,but she decided that yes,she wanted human interaction that day.Which is how she found herself standing at the door and knocking on it.

The three sat on the porch, enjoying each other's company. Anna and Ally loved having Alex around, not only because he watched over them, but because he was simply a great friend to the twins. He was friendly to all and cared about everyone's feelings, so he always knew what to say and when to say it - this was sort of like his golden trait. The three got quiet when a girl came up their yard toward them. Ally was scared, and Anna hugged her. Alex remained calm though and smiled at the new person."Greetings," he said with a smile.

Once Cora got to her back door she unlocked it, headed into the kitchen, and closed the door behind herself. She washed her hands once she got into the kitchen. The chicken breasts had finally thawed out, so she went ahead took it out of it's packaging, she then cut it it, and finally seasoned it for the Chicken Alfredo. She then put the chicken back into the fridge until she needed, so she started on the sauce. Once it was on the stove warming up, she headed into the garage, once she was there she went ahead and changed the oil on the bike. After that was done she went back into the kitchen and washed her hands again.

The bike was finally ready, all she needed was a license plate. When she checked on the sauce it had finally started to thicken. Eventually she would have to start on the bread and noodles.

She waved her right hand over her crystal ball and watched all the other girls one after another, Hmmm, seems to me there's a lot of love brewing in the air between these girls. Maybe I should try the whole, my car broke down could I used your phone? Make it rain, the works. Possibly show up to dinner..

Kiki bowed to the two girls and the boy."Greetings.I apologize for intruding,and I realize that this may sound a tad strange,but I had wondered if perhaps I might spend some time with you.I know you from School,you see.Um...Would you kindly allow me to join you?" She asked,looking and sounding supremely awkward.Talking to people was her greatest weakness.

Todd stood in the back yard,waiting for Rosie to finish getting ready.They never went anywhere special,so he knew it would take a while.While he waited,he started whistling.It was a secret pleasure of his to sit in the garden and whistle,because invariably the birds would begin to chirp along,and they would have full conversations in this way.Rosie was the only one who knew Todd did this.As usual,one bird started repeating his tune,then others,and soon they were chirping and whistling to eachother happily while they waited for Rosie.

Upstairs in her room,Rosie had her window open to catch a breeze while she got ready.She stood in front of her mirror giving herself one last look over before she left."What do you think,Frisco?" She asked the cat,who was sitting on her bed.Frisco meowed his approval."Great.Hey,do you hear that?" She asked.the two of them went to the window and listened."Todd is talking to the birds again." Rosie said.Frisco purred.After a moment of just listening,Rosie picked up Frisco and ran downstairs and outside."Todd,we're ready!" She called.Todd stopped whistling and smiled at his sister,and they walked over to Corina's house.Todd knocked on the door and they waited.

Time was winding down to the wire, she had had just enough time to take a quick shower, she pulled her bathrobe on after she dried her hair adequately, and then laid the food out on the table. Cora had less than ten minutes to get ready after the food was ready, so she darted up the stairs and into her bedroom. She dashed over to her closet, pulled out a dress, and put it on. She then quickly touched up her make up and placed her hair into a messy bun.

Corina changed into a simple pair of black flats, then raced downstairs when she heard the knock on the door. She headed towards the door, opened it, ushered them in, and smiled, "You two are just in time, I placed the food on the table less than fifteen minutes ago. Not to worry, everything is covered and should be just as warm as it was when I took it out of the oven. Come on in and head on into the dining room you two."

Anna's eyes shifted back and forth, and she instantly looked at Ally. Ally, of course, was completely eager on letting the girl stay with them. She was more open to people than Anna was. The two talked in secret, discussing whether they should let the girl stay. They thought she looked nice enough and would give her a chance, and if she was bad, Alex would have to ask her to go. "Sure, why not? I'm Anna, this is Ally and that's Alex." Anna grinned, and Ally and Alex smiled.

Kiki managed a shaky smile and joined them on the porch."Thank you very much.I hope I am not imposing in any way." She said."Um,My name is Akira,but you may call me Kiki if you'd like." She added.

Rosie and Todd walked inside after Corina.Frisco jumped down from Rosie's arms and walked with them,sniffing the air as he went."Thank you for having us over." Rosie said with a smile.
Todd nodded in agreement."Yes,it was very kind of you to invite us.It does get lonely when it's just the two of us sometimes." He said."Rosie and I are together all the time,which I'm fine with,but I always hope for more friends for Rosie."
Rosie smiled at her brother.He was always so concerned for her,and she worried that he could have a much better life if he wasn't always stuck with her.But all she said was "Thanks,Todd."

The girls and Alex smiled, and gladly welcomed the girl to sit with them. It was always nice to have a friendly person to talk to, as many people around the area enjoyed picking on the girls. It felt assuring to have a different person, but the girls would still keep their guard up a little... force of habit. "Nice to meet you," Anna said.

Akira nodded."N-nice to meet you,too." She said.She couldn't figure out what to say,as small talk was always difficult,but she felt that she should make some kind of conversation.It would be awkward to simply sit there in silence after asking to join them.

"No need to thank me, the pleasure is all mine, Rosie," Cora smiled softly, then turned her attention to Todd "Well, we all grew up together, it was about time we had a reunion and a nice sit down meal with you two. I can completely agree with the the loneliness though." She paused, "Todd, I'm your friend, too. We were always in classes together, we went to each others home's and did out homework and projects, too." She grinned at the two of them as they finally got into the dining room, "Afterwards, we would all play together, go on adventure's, play games, everything."

"Ah, before I forget. Frisco's dinner is in the oven, I wanted to keep it from getting cold. It's Chicken Breast and Wild Rice."

Todd smiled."Corina,I think you're mistaking me for someone else.I never went out and played with anyone except Rosie,and I'm in a higher grade than you,so I never did any projects with you.It was Rosie who played with you,and only outside.She never came over here,and you never came to our house.Our parents were too scared that you would get mad at Rosie." He said sadly.Rosie nodded.
"He's right,you know.This is the first time I've ever been inside your house." She said.Frisco meowed at her,and she chuckled."Oh,that sounds wonderful! Frisco will love that.Thank you." She said,and of course it was the truth.

The three talked, trying to include the new girl in the conversation as best as they could. "Hey! Do you guys wanna go down to the park?" Anna asked. As long as they were with Alex, going to the park was fun. They just had to steer clear of other people.
