Svetopia - Open just jump on in!

Svetopia

Svetopia is a large, once utopian city. Over the last five years, it's utopian status plummeted as it became crime infested by gangs and villains. (Human and non-human.) The year is 2043 and we've not only managed robotic "helpers" but to configure artificially intelligent robots that look and talk like us. They are often used and controlled by gangs and shady business owners or the very rich.

Not many "normal" people have chosen to live in this city but those who do don't have the best of jobs, nor the best of homes. You can choose to live here, or be passing through and you can choose to be human, creature or robot, good, evil or transitioning/unsure. You can be a mere survivor or the mayor, use your imagination, there are no restrictions here.

Post a picture or description of your character/s (you may have up to two, three if you're sure you can keep up with them and the story) and a short bio at the top of your first post. I'll add them to the characters list as they come in.
Follow Mene's rules, no Godmodding, and just have fun!
:)

Michael
Not much is known about Michael. He's smart, he's strong and the mysterious silent type. It's not known where he works, who, if anyone, he works for, or if he's good or bad. He's 6'1", very muscular and has no known scars or birth marks. His hair is dark auburn and his eyes are icy blue.

Sydney Dupont
Syd is 20 years old. She's 5'5" with green eyes and long blonde hair with pink streaks. She has a nose ring on her left side. On the left side of her ribs she has a tattoo of three lilies on a vine that stretches from her hips to her left shoulder blade and onto her neck. She has one sparrow tattooed on the inside of each wrist and a music note tattooed behind her right ear. On her right foot she has a delicate tribal style dragonfly that represents her mother.

Syd works doing various odd jobs around the city. Some weeks she's dealing at the local casino, some weeks she bar tends, in between jobs she does illegal tattoos and piercings. It all depends on where "the boss" needs her. Despite her appearance and the tough skin she pretends to have, Syd is actually quite fun and caring.

Kiya Suzaki-Teremer (minus the fluffy thing)
Kiya came to this city to forget. To hide from the pain. More often than not, Kiya can been seen loitering on the street corners, he'll sell his body to anyone, it helps him forget. Often he can be found in one of the bars, drinking hard to numb his mind and keep away the memories. Occasionally he can be found in a back alley curled up all alone sulking.

Info: Exavier is a top of the line AI. He is constantly evolving and adapting through analyzing and learning from the world around him. He seems perfectly normal to those around him, and his true nature would never be guessed just by looking at him. He remembers nothing of who created him or what his purpose is, for his memories have been locked down. Unlike many others of his kind, he posesses the unique ability to process emotions. He is far stronger then normal beings physically, though he is not always good with controling his strength. He has a few other abilities being an AI, but those he has yet to discover fully as his memories begin to unlock.

The curves are not always easy to see despite their volume, however. She always dresses conservatively and in black, wears a hooded cowl, and tall boots. On her back always sit’s a violin case in-between her wings. She also always carries twin swords and is accompanied by a strange white cat with blue markings that reeks of magic as does she. Whatever she is, she smells of magic, cats, and vampires. She travels eternally, looking for a place to belong and to be free.

Appearance: Alek is a young lad of approximately 20 years, slender in build and physically nonthreatening. He stands at about 5'3" and wears covering clothing at all times. This mostly consists of long pants, a tan jacket, and a scarf. His hair is unruly and black, constantly in a state of mess as it cannot seem to be tamed. Alek would be able to pass for human were it not for his eyes; bright blue pupils, the surface of which is crisscrossed with the telltale signs of advanced circuitry. Alek's left shoulder blade is branded unprofessionally by a jagged sun symbol with the letters 'A R K' branded just beneath. Around Alek's left wrist is a skin tight bracelet tag that states his status as an owned droid. This prevents him from being recycled and having his various bits re-purposed into newer models.

Biography and Personality: Being a (rather old) housekeeping model of helper droid, Alek is naturally submissive and quiet, referring to everyone he communes with as either 'sir' or 'madame' as to the other's preference. While submissive and quiet (as per model standards) Alek is not above speaking his mind when the situation calls often to the surprise of those he's communicating with. While his thought processes and emotional programming don't call for much outside of serving and being pleasant, Alek has started to develop his own thoughts and emotions outside of his programming. Sometimes he experiences moments of uncharacteristic violence, becoming cold, distant, and vicious. The cause of this is unknown to Alek as these outbursts are almost always deleted from his memory banks. Alek's current owner is mystery to all including Alek. He provides a simple apartment and weekly stipend for the droid and keeps the information on the tag around his wrist up to date. He currently holds a job as a bartender and waiter, being particularly gifted at serving. He doesn't find it at all strange that the bar seems to be seedy and involved in various illegal activities.

((Forgive me if I'm a little rusty, it's been ages, it feels like, lol.))

Heavy boots crunched over broken glass, cigarette butts, night club flyers and other miscellaneous trash as he walked down the dark street. The street lights hadn't worked on Stark street for years. Sounds of rap music, bar fights and casino bustle filtered out of the buildings around him. Michael watched as two cars pulled next to each other at the end of the street. A bag was passed from one window to the other, then money from that window back to the first.

He continued walking towards his destination. Gun shots could be heard a few streets over. Michael wore no expression, didn't walk with his hands in his pockets, no pep in his step, he hardly even blinked. He would seem hardened and numb to the world around him. As he passed, women in little to no clothing offered him services, homeless and drug addicted asked him for money and teenagers with sagging pants and sideways hats lurked in alleyways. From time to time he would slow to look inside the window of a casino, bar, restaurant or darkened apartment building, as if searching for something or someone.

~~~*~~~*~~~
Sydney stood behind the bar with her arms crossed. The place was starting to fill with it's regulars. It was located on the street adjacent to Stark so it had a fair mix of people. There was a main room with a bar and various small old booths and two person tables and a back room where most regular people didn't go. Shady deals and bad things tended to happen back there. To the left of the back room was a hall that led to two separate rooms and the alley. Sometimes men could be seen going into a room with a female, entertainer. Sometimes men could be seen going back there and then weren't seen again. She was instructed never to question anything.
The whole place was dimly lit and smelled of cigarette smoke that lingered and gave the place it's own level of fog. Music blasted from speakers to keep the patrons' conversations private and clear minded thoughts at bay. The less people thought clearly the more they drank and the more money they spent. Too bad the boss couldn't spare some change to replace the broken bulbs and ripped bar stools. The people who came here didn't care.
She sighed. She was day dreaming of another city, any city but this city. Pink streaked blonde hair was teased up and her eyes were lined in black. She wore red lipstick and a hoop ring on her nose. Her nails were painted black and she wore a stretchy grey mini skirt that complimented her figure over ripped black tights and red converse shoes. She wore a black long sleeved fishnet top over a grey tube top that had a red skull and crossbones across the breast. Her green eyes shifted to look at the clock, less than an hour left in her shift and she wouldn't have to work at the bar again until summoned.
The Nekojin leaned casually against the wall of a building. Trying hard not to do too much thinking. It was a very difficult thing, for him to not think, some things made it easier but during the downtime between those things, it was so difficult. Sometimes the things he did made it so much easier to forget, sometimes it made it even harder and filled him with shame. His long pinkish purple tail flicked agitatedly behind him. The ears atop his head twitching at the sounds of the city. Yellow green eyes narrowed slightly.
Kiya wasn't necessarily working this part of the street, but then he wouldn't turn someone down either if they came to him for a good time. The street he was on was Stark street, not that it mattered, in this town it really didn't matter what street a whore stood on. At least it seemed that way to him, still some streets seemed to attract violence and gunfights more so than some of the others.
He crossed his arms across his chest and lowered his head. It was too hard to not think about the things he didn't want to think about when no distractions were present. His expression was one of subtle sorrow. As if he were trying so hard to hide such a thing, and normally he was good at it. Or at least he thought he was. A soft sigh escaped his lips and his shoulders slumped a bit.
PapillonCameo 01-03-2013 04:02 AM
Reseda elbowed her way trough the crowded bar after glancing once at the female bartender. Though she wanted to have a good time, her conscious forced her away from it. There just wasn't time for that, not when Reseda needed work so badly that she was fast becoming desperate. Without money going into her bank account, the chances of losing her apartment were more certain then not. It seemed like this place already had it's vacancies filled...
Sighing, the honey blonde scampered out of the drinking establishment and onto the streets. She scratched her head once, twice, as she tried to figure out which way to go before finally deciding that it didn't matter. Debris and garbage crunched beneath the young woman's feet as she ambled down the street looking like she knew exactly where she was going: though it was far from the truth.
p o p p e t ♥ 01-03-2013 04:42 AM
Michael was calculating how long it would take to enter each establishment on the street and search each and every room and what the odds were that he'd find what he was looking for, or who he was looking for. He'd stopped to think about his options when he heard a soft sigh.
Normally he would have ignored it, but he'd decided to ask for help. He turned and approached the Neko, icy blue eyes staring into his as he pulled a photo from his pocket and began to unfold it. "Your kind meets a lot of people," he said bluntly, "where is this man?", he asked as if he really thought the Neko would know.
The photo was of a Russian man. Tall, build like a brick wall, black hair, soulless black eyes and a scar that started at his right cheek bone and ended at his chin, slicing through his lips. The photo was clearly taken from a distance, without the Russian's knowing. He was Gregori Dolzhikov. Known for human trafficking mostly, but also known to have his hand in a little bit of everything.
Kry 01-03-2013 04:55 AM
Pinkish purple ears twitched at the sound of approaching footsteps and Kiya lifted his head a bit, his body straightening some. The beginnings of an inviting smile had appeared on his lips, then fell, this man didn't seem to be interested in what Kiya was selling. That smile turned to a frown as the other male pulled out a picture, his nose twitching in disdain at such bluntness. That frown turned to a playful, almost teasing smile as he stepped closer to the male and peered at the picture.
"So you like Russians then?" Those yellow green eyes gazed from the picture to the other's face. "Does that mean you would play with me if I were Russian?" He bit his bottom lip seductively for a moment and leaned in close to the other man's face, as if he were about to kiss this stranger, Kiya's tail flicked playfully behind him as he played at avoiding this man's question. Games were fun and they helped him to not think, well he did wonder how long he could play this game with this man.
PapillonCameo 01-03-2013 05:08 AM
She was half tempted to turn back the way she'd come, but a prickling at the base of her neck warned Reseda that doing so might not be a good idea. The brown eyed woman had learned to trust those feelings, and so ambled along quietly while keeping a wary ear out for any signs of unwanted attention. Just as she was truly beginning to worry, an interesting pair of men caught her eyes. They were both so very different from each other, one obviously stoic and silent while the other seemed playful. That second one though ... He was obviously one of the street walkers in those parts, and could perhaps prove an ally in keeping away the unwanted attention she'd already begun to felt upon herself.
Who knew, perhaps one of them had heard about a job in the area. With a light shrug of her shoulders the young woman tugged at her coarse dress as she stepped forward to stand politely beside the nekojin. He was an unusual sight, but it wasn't like Reseda had never seen any of his kind before. "Excuse me for interrupting, but I just wanted to know if either of you had heard about work being offered in the area? Bartender, waitressing ... That kind of thing?"
p o p p e t ♥ 01-03-2013 05:35 AM
"Play?" he repeated. Michael didn't understand. To play you must be in some sort of game. A game is a form of sport played according to rules and decided by skill, strength, or luck. Michael saw no form of games here. Of course, Michael had never partaken in the sort of games Kiya that did.
He returned his focus to the task at hand remaining perfectly still, only shifting his eyes to watch the man as he moved closer. "This man is Russian," that much he gathered, but it didn't answer his question. "I need to find him," he said not realizing that Gregori was virtually impossible to get a hold of.
A woman approached, but he kept his icy blue stare on the neko, waiting for his response. No one and nothing mattered to him unless they proved useful to his mission.
Kry 01-03-2013 05:49 AM
Kiya arched a brow at the man's question. "Play..with my body, in a dimly lit alley or a bed." He gave a slight shrug. This man was definitely weird. Those ears twitched and he straightened back up, the playfulness was still there in the way he held himself but less so. "You should give up, this man, you won't find him." He raised a hand to scratch behind one of his twitching pinkish purple ears and glanced at the girl that approached them.
He gave her a smile. "Getting a job's easy, and with your looks it'll be really easy, just pick an unoccupied street corner and wait for a customer." He gave her an almost lewd look, though his playfully expression quickly replaced it. "You can even have this guy as your first customer, isn't he pretty? Looks rough, but I'm sure he'll be gentle with you, especially if it's your first time." Kiya leaned towards the girl and gave a quick once over, as if trying to decide if it would be her first time or not.
The people on the streets caught his attention first. There were many woman walking with men, laughing and leaning against them. Tilting his head, Exavier wondered what it was that they were feeling. His senses picked up rising levels of not only hormons, heat, and alcohol in many of their bodies, but adrenaline and increased heart rates as well. "Odd" he says, wondering what exactly it was that caused them to become such a way. His curiosity made him step forward, pondering the thought to ask a couple that was passing near him. He paused as he noticed a man in a trench coat, who was watching him from the other side of the street. He narrowed his eyes a bit, and thought better of it. The man's face, though partially hidden, did not match any in his memories, though with most of his memories missing, there was a possibility he did know him.
Whoever he was, he was stirring what humans would call nerves inside of Exavier. He had become very familiar with this emotion since he had woken up inside of a dark case a few days back. He had not known why he was there, or remembered anything about getting there. The voices he had herd had said something about shipping him somewhere, but the rest was lost, since they had moved outside. Now, he had the odd feeling that he was often being watched by people. Did they know he was different? Did they know he was not like them? The nerves grew, and he turned away from the man and the couple, walking on down the street. He glanced back, but the man had not moved, though he was still watching him.
He continued on for a little while, fewer and fewer people passed by, and he felt more and more alone then before. It wasn't long until his senses picked up the voices of people up ahead. He paused and narrowed his eyes once more, looking ahead of him. A ways away, he saw a man and what appeared to be a neko standing together and talking. The one was holding a piece of paper, scanning it for a moment, he recognized it as a picture. People used them to keep memories or show things that wern't there at the moment. He wondered what the picture had on it, only seeing it slightly from the side. He thought it was best not to interfere with their buisiness however, since he had seen a bit of what they did to his kind tonight. He kept walking, making a move to go around them.
p o p p e t ♥ 01-03-2013 05:13 PM
Something in Syd's skirt pocket buzzed and she pulled out her cell phone. It was okay, not too big or flashy, or too small and breakable. It had been dropped off at her apartment by a guy who also worked for the boss. She was instructed to delete all phone numbers and text messages as soon as they appeared on the phone. This message informed her that she was to ensure the "guests" in the back room were comfortable and not bothered. She deleted the information and re-pocketed her phone.
She sighed. That meant she'd be here past her shift end. Not to mention, the people who liked to do their normal business back there wouldn't appreciate being told they weren't allowed tonight. Syd groaned and moved to the back room door. She peeked inside. There was a small group of men, one Hispanic, one of Asian decent, a couple of others who may have been home grown Americans, maybe German, a black man and one at the head of the table who looked built like a wall. He wore sunglasses even inside and when he spoke he had a heavy Russian accent.
Various women lingered around the room. Ordered entertainment, and one who looked like an assistant of some sort, or maybe a translator. She wondered if she could get paid more to be a translator. Probably not, since she couldn't speak much of anything else. The Russian noticed her in the doorway. She couldn't see his eyes but could feel them on her causing the hair on the back of her neck to raise. She gave him a thumbs up and he nodded. All good in there, thank God.
She slid the single door closed and stood outside with her back to the jam. If she had any luck all the rest of the do no gooders would be too busy to come in tonight and it'd be clear sailing until these goons left. Otherwise it seemed almost silly that they'd have her guarding the door over some beefy brainless goon. She wondered who the people in the room were and what they were doing. Was it possible that they were some sort of representatives of their countries' mobs or something?
Syd wasn't actually allowed to ask questions so she often let her imagination get the best of her. She was imagining gun wars in the prohibition era for some reason when the door slid open behind her and caused her to jump. A man smiled a predatory smile down at her and she frowned, standing her ground. She hadn't seen him in the room before, but he looked like a runner, or a pusher. Just another idiot to do the big fish's bidding. He mumbled something to her and slid the door closed again.
Green eyes scanned the area. She didn't see anyone who looked like they'd be barging into the back room any time soon so she left her post and headed to the bar to get the drinks that were requested. Only a few minutes later she had a large tray over her shoulder weighted down with mixed drinks and waters, one sprite and one lemon tea. She headed towards the back room.
PapillonCameo 01-03-2013 09:52 PM
Reseda let out a shocked sound at the neko's words. Her brown eyes widened in surprise, though inwardly she couldn't very well dismiss the idea so easily. Without work of any kind she'd lose her apartment, and with rent and utilities as high as they were, plus the lack of more conventional jobs ... Everything in the world was going down hill now. This life was a far cry from the one she'd thought to be living only a few years ago.
After tugging at her dress nervously for a few moments and stamping her boots, Reseda forced a smile to her lips. "That's just a little too unsafe to my mind. Aren't you afraid of what kind of customers you might get? I might have a better idea." Tilting her head to the side, she glanced at the man the neko had been speaking to previously. He did seem more then a little rough around the edges, but somehow he wasn't as threatening to her as some others she'd caught eying her as she walked the streets earlier. The picture caught her eyes, making the blonde bend down to get a better glimpse. "Hey, isn't that the guy who tried to open a modeling agency or something like that? It was a few years ago though ..." She'd been interested in that once, and had looked around town. It had been just before the economy failed though, when dreams had still been possible.
p o p p e t ♥ 01-03-2013 10:55 PM
Michael understood finally. "I haven't played with bodies in many months" Michael responded. Though he couldn't understand why anyone would want to be tortured. He recalled many agonizing screams as his knives and fists splattered others' blood onto the floor. No, people usually didn't like when he played those games, though he couldn't recall now why he'd played them or why he remembered them now as games.
"I can't give up," he responded again. And that was true. Even if he wanted to quit looking for Gregori, he couldn't. Finally his icy blue eyes looked to the female. He stared at her for a moment, assessing. She was of no threat and no use, so far. It wasn't until she spoke in a way that said she'd recognized Gregori that Michael re-categorized her.
A modeling agency. Michael stood perfectly still. He seemed somewhere else now. "Yes, under a false name. The girls began disappearing. When the CIA became involved the agency and everyone who ran it vanished. The women were never found." How had he recalled that information now? It didn't matter. Things were piecing themselves together finally.
"I need to find him," he said to them both. "I've been told he runs operations on Stark. Can one of you point me in the direction of someone who knows him, or a place he owns?" At this point in his investigation, literally any piece of information helped. A family member, an old girlfriend, a victims family, a landlord who worked under him, hell even a dry cleaners who cleaned his suits.
As a man passed around them Michael went on high alert. His eyes narrowed and he shifted to place himself exactly between the man and his only two sources of information so far. So far they were valuable, and that meant they were under his protection. Something about the passing man sent signals to his brain that made him angry. Anger? He thought he'd suppressed all emotion years ago. Now he was feeling sad. What was happening to him?
An image of a woman and child flashed before his eyes, they were screaming for help inside of a burning house. Machines stood around the structure. They looked like people. In an instant the memory was gone. What about the passing man triggered something like emotion and memory inside Michael? He hadn't realized he'd done it but he'd reached out and grabbed hold of Reseda and Kiya's arms, just above the elbow. At this point his grip would be easily leaving bruises and verging fractures.
Kry 01-03-2013 11:24 PM
"Doesn't matter what kind of customers you get, as long as they pay up. Pleasure and money, that's really all that matters. This city is too rough for a girl like you, get out while you can." He eyed the woman seriously for a moment and shook his head when she spoke about the Russian. She definitely wouldn't last long in this place, she was too honest. An almost dramatic sigh passed Kiya's lips as his ears twitched and yellow gold eyes narrowed. His attention going back to the man. "You're playing a very dangerous game. That man, you don't go looking for men like that because when you do, you won't come close to finding him but you'll end up perfectly dead."
He scratched the back of his head, his gaze flickering between the man and the woman, then settling back on the man when he began to reposition himself. Kiya leaned up on his tip toes to peer over the male's shoulder to see what the other might be hiding from them or hiding them from. Just a person passing down the street, he rolled his eyes. "You ask to many questions, and to many questions gets everyone into trouble." He shifted on his feet slightly, looking as if he might bolt at a moments notice. All playfulness had left his features, now he showed only wariness as he looked for a way out.
Kiya grimaced, all thoughts of escape interrupted when the stranger's hand closed bruisingly tight around his arm. Kiya raised his free hand and very gently ran his fingers up the man's forearm. "And I thought you didn't want to play with me?" That playfulness had returned, and he let his fingernails ever so gently scratch at the man's flesh, just enough to tickle a bit or send chills down the man's spine if he wasn't ticklish. "Careful though, I might bite." Kiya's entire body seemed to writhe suggestively for a moment. He didn't really seem too concerned with getting out of this man's grip or making him let go, still if that grip tightened a bit, he would make the man let go or at least try.
PapillonCameo 01-04-2013 12:06 AM
Her eyes hardened at the man's assumption. Reseda would have launched into an angry tirade if not for the fact that the redhead had shifted, gripping her arm in a bruising grip. Perplexed, she let her brown eyes rove over the streets but found nothing out of the ordinary.
So her attention returned to the neko, reassured by the fact that the man holding her arm had moved to protect her. "Hey listen here, just because I have standards doesn't mean this place is too rough for me. You don't know me, so don't you dare judge." said Reseda as she reached out to give a light tap to the neko's wrist. His behavior was quite frankly driving her up the wall!
Reseda colored a little when she realized that she'd forgotten to say anything about the redhead's questions. "As for that man ... I don't know anything, but there's a nearby bar and I've seen a few people there who look like they might be able to answer your questions." The thought of letting such a man wander about unopposed after his actions made a chill run through her heart. It was dangerous enough simply walking down the street those days, so the threat of more danger didn't phase her all too much.
Exavier felt the deffinet sense that he was not welcome around the other beings. It made him feel kind of closed off. It seemed no one was interested him other then the one who had been watching him back when he had taken a curiosity in the couple. He paused for a moment at the corner, and raised his eyes to the sky. His hands slightly clenched and he wondered what the rising feelings inside of him were. Glancing back at the other three near the ally, he noticed a spike in the one who had been closest to him as he had passed. His brain activity and emotional status had risin. Did he know him? He tilted his head, trying to run through the memory files in his mind, but still none of them were able to be brought up or opened. It was as if the information was deffinetly there, but it was out of his reach. He closed his eyes, and moved a hand to his head. The strange sensation that humans would call lightheadedness fell over him. He figured it was putting more strain on his circuts then he thought to try and pull up the information. Whoever had locked them down, was sure doing a good job of it. He recognized that in some situations like this, the human thing to do was release a breath of air from himself in a saddened tone. It was refered to as a sigh as he had hered, so he did just that. He figured he should find somewhere to recharge or sleep as they would say, but he had no money at all, and in this city, money was everything. Seemed he was staying on the streets tonight.
Michael ignored the neko's warning and gave one of his own. "If you bite me I'll crush you." It wasn't really a threat or anything, and was said as more of a statement, sounding solemn, but not rude. Michael thought the neko was serious enough anyway. But at those words of truth, he realized he may actually be crushing the two of them already.
He released them when the strange man was far enough away and stared at them for a moment. Anyone normal would have felt and looked awkward while they spoke the words, "I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me," but as always Michael remained still and expressionless. He'd felt anger and sadness only moments before, but he was able to turn them off again immediately. Something he'd learned to do many years ago.
When Reseda spoke his icy eyes met hers, assessing her value once again. Yes, she was valuable enough. "Take me there. You are safe as long as you're with me and you'll both remain with me until you are no longer useful." His eyes looked from Reseda's to Kiya's. He wasn't sure what Kiya knew but he was almost sure he knew more than he led on. There was no way he was going to let the only two leads he had since he'd arrived on this street get away from him, or die. Whether they liked it or not.
His words were always spoken with a solemn authority. His voice always remained a bit above quiet and mostly monotone. Although he showed no expression, his stance, build and overall appearance was more than intimidating. From time to time one might catch a hint of sadness or anger in his eyes, but it always vanished as quickly as it appeared.
((I'm sorry Kiyo I don't know how to incorporate your charrie atm! If you want to get your charrie to the bar I'm sure something will come of it since he's rubbing Michael wrong. (For reasons you'll all find out eventually, teehee!)))
All that playfulness seemed to leave him again. This man, he was such an odd one, and dangerous, Kiya raised a brow at him. "You are a very strange man." When his arm was released he would have taken a few steps backwards, but already his back was pressed against the building he had previously been leaning on. Kiya brought his other hand up rub gently at where he had been gripped so roughly. His eyes flickered to the girl. "Nothing to do with standards, it's all about honesty. You're too honest for a city like this. Already you're sending this man to his doom, and us as well, since he seems intent on dragging us with him."
Those pinkish purple ears of his drooped dramatically. "Some things are just best left alone, and some people are best avoided." He looked at both of them in turn, seriousness in his feline eyes as he shook his head slightly, that gaze settling back on the male. "I'm not going anywhere with you." His hand dropped from rubbing those bruises and he crossed his arms across his chest, the look in his eyes was almost challenging as he stared at the strange man. Almost as if daring the other to force him to go along.
She has long blue hair that reaches to mid back that she keeps up in a bun with long sweeping bangs and silver eyes that glimmer like they have moonlight trapped within them. She has small bat like wings which she can grow or shrink at will as well as the pupils, ears, tail, fangs and claws of a cat. Her skin is pale and has a slight silver sheen as if dusted with silver glitter though it can only be seen when the light hits her just right.
She appears in her early twenties and is 5’10 with a muscular yet curvaceous body. Her hour glass figure appears practically formed by some man’s fantasy, considering her origins perhaps it was. The curves are not always easy to see despite their volume, however. She always dresses conservatively and in black, wears a hooded cowl, and tall boots. On her back always sit’s a violin case in-between her wings. She also always carries twin swords and is accompanied by a strange white cat with blue markings that reeks of magic as does she. Whatever she is, she smells of magic, cats, and vampires. She travels eternally, looking for a place to belong and to be free.
Kala sat perched on the roof above, tiny bat like wings fluttering behind her. The cat on her shoulder, a strange thing that was not a normal cat at all, made a soft growl of annoyance. The silver eyed creation said nothing, her eyes on the people below. Born beings always fascinated her, though the metallic smelling androids rather saddened her. She too had been created for the sake of another, only her gaining a soul by accident allowing her to escape. She was of flesh and magic, while they were of metal and circuits but the purpose was the same. Tools to be used, never allowed to really live unless their masters died.
Still, the puzzle of the strange circuitry was not what had her attention. No... what had her attention was the group below her. Play? What kind of play did the true neko below talk off? Play with bodies? Why would anyone want to be so vulnerable to another like that? The naive creature could not understand. She glanced towards the cat at her shoulder and said a question she had said many times before. In fact it felt like she was always asking it since she freed herself, even if it was only one word. 'Why' she said, and as always the familiar on her shoulder knew what she referred too and how to answer.
"Beings of flesh can make each other feel great physical pleasure, and sometimes it allows them to escape a bitter loneliness. You may enjoy such a thing, were you to allow it." It answered her, it's voice a strange mix of male and female unlike her own silky voice that was so completely feminine. The face she made in response was not nearly so elegant, however, and seemed rather disgusted. She just shook her head before she glanced down at the group again. Loneliness was a terrible thing, she had tasted it in many a soul when she fed, but slavery to another...if only for an instance was worse to her. She did not think it was worth risking capture for.
She swung her legs a moment as she watched the group, staying on her perch at the edge of the roof without another word. She had few true memories of her own but she had many blurred memories from before she had 'awoken' and was just a basin for other people's souls and powers. She debated if she wished to jump down but as the red head kept her cautious. She had many powers and many skills, built to be a mage's weapon and his slave in a far away land, but she did not relish the fight or the risk. He seemed determined, about this man he kept asking for.
Kiya's body tensed almost noticeably, his eyes narrowing slightly. Those ears of his twitched and turned slightly in a direction. He couldn't help it, something was watching them and he'd caught the slight sound of someone talking. Perhaps above them, on the roof of the building his back was to. Kiya's thoughts immediately jumped to the worst case scenario, this red head had brought unwanted attention to them with his questions. A shiver ran down Kiya's spine, he had always done such a good job of not drawing the kind of attention to him that would get him murdered in the street by a henchman. He glanced to the girl and then to the man. "We're being watched." His tail twitched nervously behind him.
He soon made his way along, not quite sure where he was going at all. He hered a few people mentioning what they called a bar. He had never been in one before, as much as his memories could tell him. He wondered if it was the reason for all the strange fluxes in the people he passed. He decided to investigate, crossing the street to the large building. The bouncer gave him a look over, asking him what he was doing there. Exavier really had no answer, and he was not sure what to say at all about why he was there. His eyes scanned over the large man, and for a moment the man stared back at him. As if sensing he was not normal, the man asked no more questions, but said something into his earpiece, then let Exavier in. He wondered why that was, he did not have any ID or anyrhing, he was not even sure of his own age or where he had been created or anthing. Having his memory files on lockdown was rather bothersome.
He began filtering through them, trying to find a way to unlock them. Not paying to much attention to where he was going, he bumps into a man in an expensive itallian suit, knocking his drink onto him. The man jumps and glares at Exavier "whatch where your going you idiot! Do you know how much this suit costs?" He scanned the suit for a moment, running it against others that he had seen. "I'm sure it will come out and you should be fine, my apologies sir" he says. The man glares, "are you trying to make a fool out of me?" He grabs Exavier's arm, and for a moment, Exavier's senses and defenses begin to click in. He grabs the man's hand, bending it back so he would let go. The man hollars, and his cronies step forward, moving around Exavier ready for trouble.
She scoffed at that, crossing her arms. "And what's wrong with being honest? I don't see any reason to lie right now, so I don't. If I needed to I would without a second thought." Reseda thought for a moment, or tried to, about what kind of life the neko might have lived. Perhaps honesty in his world was a dangerous luxury. There was no way of knowing that for sure though, so instead she turned her thoughts and attention to the redhead.
"Alright I'll take you, but can you guarantee that you won't harm me once my usefulness is done?" She would have said more if the pink haired cat man hadn't spoken of being watched. She'd had the same feeling before of course, but to have it confirmed like this ... Reseda tried her best to peek out of the corner of her eyes to try and find their nameless, faceless, watched but without much success.
"I won't harm anyone unless it's necessary," he said simply. He'd ignored the neko's refusal to go as if he had a choice in the matter. At the neko's words Michael simply nodded. He'd known the second the woman on the building had spoken that she was there. The vibrations around them had changed, it was impossible to miss.
Without warning Michael scooped up the neko and threw him over his shoulder. The motions were effortless, and struggle as he might, the neko wouldn't be able to budge an inch from the redhead's grasp. He turned towards the woman once again. "I am Michael. If you need to know anything else, I'll give you that information when it is needed. Let's go." At times his manner of speaking would seem emotionless and almost robotic, and other times hints of a real person with a life and feelings could be heard. He was certainly a strange man.
Kala was not surprised when the three seemed to notice her. She had done nothing to conceal her presence really... like most cats she just liked high places better then low ones. Her ears twitched slightly as she listened to them talk, still rather confused by their speech. The neko was fighting but it seemed both were giving up their freedom to the red head for the moment. She frowned at that, a low rumble briefly whispering in her throat. The familiar on her shoulder made a face and dug in his claws as if to warn her, not that she paid attention except to mutter a handful of words.
"He takes freedom like it belongs to him...."
"It is not your buisness to interfere. This world is just slaves and masters, we both know that" The familiar responded. It was true, at least for the two cat like beings neither of this world or the next. Their had always been a master and a slave, even if Kala had managed to become a Master, the familiar had stayed a slave. She had not particuliarly wished it, she had simply inherited ownership and responsibility from her creator when she'd taken his life. She did not know how to free the cat and it seemed to have little interest in her precious freedom. She had even less interest in listening to his warnings.
She leaped downward, her shadowy bat like wings seeming to grow so she would land silently and safely behind them. Her wings then shrank again, appearing more like a cosplayer's wings then real apendages except for the occasional twitch. She did not summon her swords from the tasseled bracelets she wore on each wrist, nor did she call out to her magic. She simply stood straight up and looked at the group, her face open and curious.
"Why do you do this?" She demanded of the red head, simply gazing at him. She did nothing else, she didn't even move. She just stared at him with that cat-like blankness she was capable of. She showed little of her emotion, mainly because she did not really know how. It was easy to see it in others, but in herself it still felt too new and unnatural. So she stood, a strange statue that did not look like it belonged anywhere.
