The Bounty
Set in modern times our story is fairly basic (to allow for our players to really mold the story). Our characters will be either human bounty hunters, regular humans, or fantasy based creatures (elves, nekos, vampires, werewolves, witches, etc.). Humans don't really know of the existence of the mythical creatures, some believe but have never seen, some think it's ridiculous, and others are out there trying to capture them. Those people are our bounty hunters. This story is meant to have equal amounts of excitement, comedy, romance, conflict, suspense, etc. Let's make it well rounded!
Characters Breakdown: Anyone who is a bounty hunter must be an experienced hunter, having hunted for many years. You may also hunt humans as some of them can be bad, too. Anyone who is a mythical creature is a bad guy, or isn't necessarily bad, but definitely not good. (Your character may become good, but cannot start out that way.) Anyone who is a regular human may be a protector/helper/aid of the creatures, or even someone targeted by the creatures for whatever reason. To make the story go 'round we need: Taken-One female creature -One male creature Taken-One experienced male bounty hunter -One experienced female hunter Taken-One majorly uncapturable and bad creature (he is who our hunters will be trying to ultimately capture and who can have other creature or human followers/helpers) Taken-One male human who's on the bounty list by accident to create comical clashes Taken-Various very loyal creatures/goons of our major bad guy, male and female -One regular human (they need to be valuable to the story) male or female If you think of a different character or something that might be fun or helpful for the story, just run it by me in a personal message and we'll talk about it! Rules: 1. Follow Mene rules first and foremost. 2. To join PM me your character profile with the subject line, "I will follow the rules." 3. No God-modding without permission. 4. Create a diverse character for the role-play. This means before you join you need to view the other approved characters and make sure yours isn't an accidental copy of one of them. 5. It was three o'clock in the afternoon. Traffic would be picking up soon and Ashley sat slumped in the front seat of her beat up 2001 Ford Pinto. The car wasn't her. It was faded yellow and she was lucky if the windows rolled down when she needed them to, and just as lucky if it started when she needed it to. She thought of herself as more of a Jeep kind of a girl. Top down, wind in her hair...
She sighed. In her lap sat a folder full of fugitive files. Photo after photo with addresses and lists of family members, friends, cars, and misdeeds. What had her life become? Not two hours ago she was standing at her local Mary Kay store selling perfume. It wasn't her fault that somehow the entire pyramid of the latest Jennifer Lopez perfume toppled over and ruined all 675 bottles. She sighed again. She really was a walking disaster. Luckily for her, her sister, Rebecca, had a husband who took just enough pity on her to give her a job. Now here she was, flipping through a file of wanted felons wondering where to start looking fooorr.... ah here was one. A Billy "The Crusher" Johnson, works at the local junkyard, wanted for... crushing his girlfriend's car, with her inside of it. Great. Ashley put her car in drive and pulled out of the small strip-mall style lot where her sister's husband's office was located. She made it two blocks before her beat up piece of junk started sputtering. "Come on!" she shouted as she pulled the yellow eye-sore into a back alley. The car died immediately. Ashley got out, cursing and kicking at the front tire. "Piece of junk," she mumbled, fumbling for her phone. Finally she found it! Annddd dropped it into a puddle of greasy water. Ashley banged her forehead on the side of the car. "Why me?" she asked the Pinto as her wavy blonde hair began straying from it's messy bun atop her head. All she could think about was getting back to her apartment, ordering some pizza, having a beer and pretending her life wasn't sailing down the crapper. |
Suke Orashi The sun looked beautiful from his room, he leaned on the windowsill, overlooking the town that the squad was staying in for now. A smile on his lips, he lifted a hand to push his glasses back into place with his middle finger. He could see the humans below scurrying around about their buisiness. They believed that they were safe, they were wrong. The things that fed off of them would not be stopped by mere windows, walls and doors. He shook his head, moving away from the window to the bed. Three swords sat upon it, and he ran his hand over the scabbbard of the longest one. They had once belonged to his father, before he had been killed by those monsters. He gripped the hilt, pulling the sword from the scabbard with a definite sound. It caught the sunlight, and reflected it across the walls. He stared into the surface, and saw his reflection. Many said he looked a lot like his parents, and that was all fine and good to him. He wanted it that way, so when he hunted down all the ones in connection with his parents deaths, they would be able to see them in him as they took their last breath. He slowly slipped the sword back into it's scabbard, before placing it and the other longer one at his bedside. He placed the smallest one inside the sash of his pants on the other side. Many did not understand why he often wore white when they went out to hunt or at all, but that was his own liking. He was not one to hide his prescence, no, he wanted them to know he was comming, and many of them knew better then to take him lightly. If they didn't, well then that would be a deadly mistake on their part. He was only eighteen, but he was able to take on, and had taken on, dark things that hunters twice his age and experience could barley handle, or not handle at all. He was no fool, he knew what he was doing. He enjoyed it to, though that part of him slightly frightened him at times, even if he would never admit it to another hunter. He had already proven himself in the eyes of the hunter world, taking down the lord who had bitten him, and killed his parents. His mother had used a special herb to stop the venom in his body, but many on the council would argue that he was still a threat, and that it may not have worked and he would turn on them at any moment. He rolled his eyes, they were all fools. His hand had slipped on its' own up to his neck, where the collar of his shirt hid the two small bite marks on his neck, where that thing had dared to put his mouth. Slight chills ran through Suke's body, and for a moment he paused in the darkness of the hallway. His heart was skipping a beat, and the shadows in the hall seemed to lengthen and reach out to him. He shook his head, forcing his eyes closed, then opened them again. "Your being pathetic" he whispered to himself, he knew better then this. He was a hunter, not a vampire. He was the thing that scared the things that went bump in the night. A slight but familiar sickness set into his stomach, and he took a deep breath. He could not afford to let his condition get the better of him today. He had to be on his guard so none of those beasts would ever touch him in that manner again. He focused ahead of him in the hall. A door to his left opened, and a man stepped out. His eyes looked over Suke for a moment before he spoke. "Are you alright?" Suke looked at him in return, and gave a slight nod of his head. "I'm fine, I was just going to go out into the town for a little bit...get my bearings before nightfall" he sighed. The man went by the name of Sayoshi. He was on the team by command of those who were worried about Suke. He didn't say it, but they knew he was there to keep an eye on Suke. They had become not quite friends, but closer in the time Sayoshi had been with them. He was like an odd big brother now to Suke, and kept him out of trouble if he could. "Do you want me to go with you?" he asked. Suke shook his head "I think I can manage a simple walk on my own." He moved to continue on his way, but Sayoshi placed a hand on his shoulder, stopping him for a moment. "Look....if you need to talk.." his hand slipped away. Suke did not turn, nor did he give any acknowledge of the question. "Make sure no one takes my swords" he says, walking down the hall and down the stairs. He sighed, why was things like this so difficult? He reached a hand up to brush his hair out of his face once more, before making sure the smallest sword was securly hidden in his sash. He doubted it would end very well if he got caught in the daylight by someone carrying a concieled weapon. It was why his longer swords remained inside during the day, and only came out at night or when he was absolutely sure of his surroundings. He opened the front door of the hotel and stepped out onto the sidewalk. This place was odd, he was used to being back home, being origionally from the training areas in Japan. It was why his name was what it was, and most of the people in his group had names as such to. Stationed here, it was a whole different story, |
The day's classes had been let out not too long ago, the bell ringing and releasing the student's of Hermia's out into the big and dangerous city. And it was only when he himself was off campus did his latest joke get itself tripped. A bucket on a door. Classic, but with Valamond's own little twist; the bucket had been filled with shellfish oils. The target was allergic. He giggled sickly at the screams for help that emanated down the street and he took off into a jog, a grin spread wide across his face as the disguised demon lord turned a corner and made his way down the intricate network of alleys, sunglasses falling over his eyes as he flicked them down off the top of his head.
He slowed to a casual gate, hands in his uniform's jacket pockets, fingering the knife he kept inside almost excitedly, as if wishing someone would jump out in an attempt to mug him. But no one ever did. No one ever went out of their way to entertain the painfully bored Val. His grin vanished as he pouted, turning down another back alley and kicking discarded bottles and cans with a few grumpy grunts. He stopped as a scent wafted down the alley, he lifted his head, grinning as his nostrils flared to accept the delicious scent. Despair. Someone was in a bind. With a delighted giggled he turned and practically began to skip down the alleyways, humming low in his throat as he skillfully dodged puddles and trash. He stopped as he noticed a nasty yellow car sitting in the entrance to the current alley, eyeing the woman currently standing next to it with amusement. "Oh my," he cooed, beginning to calmly make his way toward her, grin splitting his face like a pearly blade, glasses hiding his bloody red eyes in a veil of black. "Is the nice lady having car troubles?" |
Ashley's forehead was still on the car as she rolled her head to the side to look at the person speaking to her. It was just a kid. She smiled and sat up straight. She always liked to try and set the best adult example she could in front of children, and banging your forehead on a car and cursing about your life certainly wasn't very mature of her. A red spot lingered on her forehead.
"No," she started. Well lying wasn't a good example either. She sighed. "Yes, I got this heap from Eddie's Car Lot." Eddie's was on the East side. Everyone knew not to trust Eddie, everyone except Miss Gullible Ashley. She knelt down and plucked her phone from the puddle of water. She held it out in front of herself with two fingers as water poured out of it. She'd just gotten fired, her car had broken down and her phone was out of commission. She leaned her back against the car and slid down until she was sitting on the ground. Screw looking like a mature adult. Today sucked. Who could she call to come and bail her out of this mess? Her mother was busy with one of her new boyfriends, her best friend worked all the way up North. A small groan escaped her. "Things can't get any worse," she mumbled, closing her eyes and leaning her head against the yellow eye-sore forgetting about the blonde haired child. |
Valamond stopped at a respectful distance, finding the delicious scent of her misfortune and despair intoxicating at this distant alone. Who knew how he'd start acting were he to get closer. Poor lass must be used to such troubles. His shoulders jerked as he chuckled, snorting as he removed a hand from his pocket to cover his mouth. A feigned attempt at being polite. "You trusted that skeezeball?" he asked, snorting and chuckling. "Everyone worth their salt in this town knows he's a swindling pig."
He paused, lifting his head lightly as his nostrils flared to pick up a fainter, yet similar scent. Discomfort. There was someone near here who was a tad uncomfortable, out of place, confused as a result. Oh well. He ignored the faint scent, instead focusing on the intoxicating meal before him. "Hey, look," he said, calming his chuckling. "How about I help you out? The junkyard ain't too far from here. Maybe I can convince Billy to get the tow truck out here so you can haul this junk heap to a shop. How about it?" He removed his other hand from his pocket and spread his hands wide, a show of good faith. He had the tiniest hopes she would say yes, agree to this deal. If she did, he could call upon anything from her. Rules of the trade; I scratch your back, you sell your soul and do what I wish until I say you can leave. Pretty fair trade in his eyes. |
Ashley sent a sideways glance at the boy. Was he laughing at her? Uhg, a child was laughing at her. She was debating on laughing or crying when he offered to help her out. How could this young boy help her? At his next words Ashley perked up. Junkyard? Billy? "Yes!" She exclaimed. This was perfect! She'd get a tow and apprehend Billy all at once. Of course she'd have to do it after the tow. She didn't feel bad either, the guy had murdered his girlfriend in cold blood. A murderer. Ashley noted not sitting next to Billy in the tow truck.
She cleared her throat and calmed herself, "I mean, sure, if you have that connection, that would be great." She was finally smiling again. "Thanks, kid," she said genuinely. "I owe you big time." As it was, Ashley was willing to take the help from anyone, and was surprised that a child was able to offer any help at all, much less so much. She was still smiling. What a great kid. His parents must be really proud of him. Ashley wondered what her kids would be like. The thought of herself with children gave her mixed feelings. She wasn't sure she was cut out for children, but her biological clock was ticking after all. She could hear her mother now, "Ashley, why aren't you married and settled down now? You're sister's already married with two kids and she's younger than you." Ashley sighed. What a joke coming from the one woman who thought marriage was a sham. She looked at the young boy again. She hoped her kids would be like this nice young boy. |
Valamond's hopeful grin turned into one of sick victory, teeth gleaming in the light the alley provided. 'Oh yes you do...' He licked his lips before standing straighter, beginning to move past the woman and out into the street. "Great! I'll be back as soon as I can! You sit tight, lady!" he called, standing on the sidewalk, ignoring the people who gave him cross looks for standing in the center of the walk way. He turned after that, beginning to casually make his way down the street toward the junkyard, grin still plastered on his face.
He stopped, eyeing a tall man who stood on the sidewalk in front of him with a raised eyebrow. The scent wafting on him was similar to the one he had caught earlier. Probably the source. There was another scent just beneath, something dusty and old and acidic. He chuckled lightly, bouncing his way past quietly, keeping a sharp eye on him in case of any funny business. The man was obviously foreign to this city and, while he enjoyed new people immensely, people who held themselves like this man did were trouble. Usually hunter of some variety and he really wasn't in the mood for leaving a charred and bloodied husk in another alley so soon after the last. While the reactions from those who found his opponents were amusing and left him a giggling wreck for weeks, a certain amount within a short time span attracted more of them. And they were annoying to say the least. When Val finally passed the man he picked up the pace, bouncing walk evolving into a jog as he made his way down the street, humming under his breath as he made his way toward the twisted metal mountain that was this town's junkyard. Being a rather skeezy joint didn't help his love for it. The iron stink here was always so high and not all of it was cars or metal and it always left him feeling hungry. He chuckled lowly, grinning widely as he jog-skipped his way along. |
Lulucian moved quietly down the street. He had been watching Valamond for a while, from a distance. Letting the other interact with the woman in the alley without interfering, now that Val was done interacting with the woman and was moving down the sidewalk, Lulu picked up his pace. He hardly gave those he passed more than just a passing glance as he made his way quickly to his master's side. Gunmetal colored eyes were slightly downcast as he soon fell into step beside Valamond. Lulu was quiet. He had nothing to say at the moment, though he obeyed any command given to him, Lulu was not fond of his master.
][sorry for the lameness of my post. >.<;][ |
Valamond cast a sideways glance as a figure fell instep beside him, grin going from amused and excited to sharp and deceptively sweet. "Oh, there you are Lulu!" he cooed, finally looking up at the taller figure. "I was wondering when you were going to show your face around here. What've you been up to? Sulking? You were probably sulking you're very good at that."
He stopped at the arched and nasty gate that led to the junkyard, sliding his hands into his pockets and calmly striding in. He took in the coppery iron scent, the smell of grease and oil, the wonderful sound of grinding metal, and the raised eyebrow of a thug placing a pair of oil-stained gloves back into a toolbox near the junkyard's garages and office. The demon lord's grin widened, already pondering what exactly that nice young lady's soul was going to taste like. Probably sweet. He hoped it was sweet. |
Walking along the street, it did not take long for him to come upon an odd sight. A female with a car, talking to someone who was deffinetly not human. He gave Suke an odd feeling, and the notion of the man down the street watching the boy made the scene even more suspicious. Sure enough, he watched as the boy went on his way, and the other male followed. Suke kept to the shadows, so not to draw their attention. He was skilled in normal hand to hand, and he had the smaller sword with him, but this battle was better left for when there wern't other beings around. He sighed, and moved to the ally as the guys left to get whatever the boy had promised her. Suke wasn't keen on listening to other's conversations unless he had to. Leaning against the wall by the entrance to the ally, he raised an eyebrow "are you sure you are willing to risk so much on the words of a...child?" He chose his words carefully, watching her as he did. A strand of his lighter red hair fell in his eyes. He was told it looked pink from how light it was and his time out usually training in the sun. It fit him though, especially with his odd eyes. Slipping back to reality, he waited on her answer. |
In the basement of an abandoned building, a pile of black leather covered a sleeping form of a woman. As the sunlight touched the leather the form started to stir and a slight growl came from the pile. A pale form of a naked woman who moved from the pile of leather and reached into her black messenger bag and pulled out a necklace that protected her from sunlight. She hated using it because it was her father's and she did not like the reminder of the man who got her mother killed. Her long black hair tickled her back a little as the ice blue eyes squinted at the sunlight. The woman quickly pulled on her clothes that showed her succubus figure and made sure her sword was hidden in her black trench coat.
She walked up the stairs and out into the bright street once satisfied with her appearance. The sun had always been her worst enemy and usually put her in a bad mood. especially when it woke her from her slumber. Her eyes remained close until she put on a pair of sunglasses she had stolen of her latest victim. She smiled at the memories she had of last night's feast and purred softly to herself. His blood was okay but it had been a while since someone curled her toes like last night. Oh well, a new day meant new victims and she was looking forward to it. The scent of human mixed with demon caught her attention as she got closer to an alleyway but kept on walking with her eyes on the sidewalk in front of her. It was not her business to investigate. |
Ashley jumped and spun around to face the man with her hand over her heart. "What in the world are you trying to do? Give stranded women in alleys heart attacks?" She watched him for a moment. "Were you listening in on our conversation?" He must have been, to know she was relying on the boy for help. Most people would have thought that strange, but Ashley was focusing on his question.
"I don't really have a choice anyway" she said. "I don't live near here, and my phone," she looked down at the thing in her hand, "it's reached the end of it's lifespan." It was too bad the world had become so reliant on cell phones. She didn't have a single phone number memorized. She couldn't even use a pay phone if she knew where one was. She thought for a moment. "Besides, I'm not risking anything. He's just a kid, a nice kid. What's the worst that could happen? He doesn't ever come back?" The thought was actually worrisome. She really needed a tow. And she really really needed to bring Billy in. About that time the tow truck pulled up, backing up to the back of her little yellow car. She was thankful the yard was just a block or so from here. She watched the man hop out of the driver's seat and begin attaching her car to the chains. Yep, it was definitely Billy and he gave her the heeby jeebies. She smiled a fake smile at him trying to be nice and seem less nervous or awkward, but doubted it was working. Her first bounty. She could do this. As the car was pulled up onto the back of the truck, Ashley turned to the pink haired man. "Well, nice of you to eavesdrop on me, see ya'," she said, unaware that in the near future she'd probably be partnering up with this man on apprehensions from time to time. She hopped into the passengers side of the tow truck and slammed the door. A moment later, Billy hopped in. She gave him another uncomfortable smile. As they passed the shop, Ashley watched it in the window. "Uhm, I think we just passed the shop," she said. Billy grunted. And a moment later they pulled up to the junkyard gates. They opened and Billy drove inside. The gates closed behind them. "I have a shop here," he said, driving around the back of the building. Ashley's stomach felt sick as she imagined Billy's girlfriend getting crushed in her car. Her palms were getting sweaty and her blue eyes continued hopefully searching for his shop. After a moment they stopped. There were cars all around them. Some were stacked fifteen cars high. She could no longer see the entrance of the place, and she certainly couldn't see any shop. It's okay, she thought, trying to calm herself. No problem. I'll just pull out the pepper spray my new boss just gave me for the job, spray Billy and drive him to the office in his own truck. Piece of cake. There was only one problem. Ashley's purse was still inside her car, and Billy had the key. Ashley did a mental head slap. She cleared her throat, "So, I guess your shop is a little farther back? I'll just hop out here and meet you... at the front..." Billy had pulled her key from his pocket and with one motion of a single hand, broke her key in half. This wasn't good. Ashley's fight or flight instincts kicked it. She was much more of a flighter than a fighter, so she flung the door open and hit the ground running. She weaved in and out of cars and junk piles trying to be sure he wouldn't find her. But now, where was the entrance. Ashley was crouched low behind a car, breathing like a crazy animal and trying not to cry. She hated her new job more than her last one. It was official. |
Lulu's nose wrinkled slightly in disdain at that sweet grin that appeared on Valamond's face. Such a deceptive smile. Lulu did not smile, his face was a mask of calm bitter sincerity. "I do not sulk." He spoke the words softly, his voice was always soft, but subtle power seemed to lightly drip from his words as they entered the air, even when he wasn't using his power to command things. It wasn't true though, Lulu did sulk. And he was very good at it.
When Valamond stopped at the gate outside the junkyard, Lulu's nose wrinkled in disgust. He hated the way this place smelled, it was disgusting and very dirty. He hesitated when Val began moving again, walking a few steps behind the seemingly child instead of right next to him. The coppery scent of iron was not so bad, it reminded him of blood, but the scents of grease and oil were disgusting. Those gunmetal colored eyes were watching only Valamond though, studying that youthful form that moved along in front of him. |
Aislinn didn’t care much for the junkyard and how it smelled. The coppery smell was the only one that she found to be a little pleasant, but it didn’t hide the scent of oil and grease. So unlike her twin she was off walking the streets of the city, heading towards a bar. She wore a little black dress that was a little revealing. Oh how easy it was for her to lure in men with just her looks. A small grin played on her rosy lips as she felt the stares she received as she passed a small group of men. How foolish and easy to trick. Soon the fun will start. She had no doubts of this.
Her azure eyes fell onto the woman whom her lord had spoken to earlier. It seemed he had suckered in another human, but the man she had seen next to the woman had a strange scent and aura about him. Her eyes narrowed slightly and she frowned a bit at the thought that their fun in this city could be interrupted so soon. ------------- Kerri welcomed the scents of the junkyard. They reminded her of death and decay. She wore mechanic overalls, tank top and gloves that had various stains of oil and grease on them. She even had some oil on her face from working on a motorcycle earlier in the day. Motorcycles were one of the only human things she loved. The sound of the iron gates caught her attention and she sat down her tools. Peeking around a pile of cars her amethyst eyes spotted Lord Valamond and Lulu. Quietly she moved from behind the pile of cars and walked over to Val and Lulu with her hands behind her back. A small smile played on her lips. She hoped that the smile on Val’s face meant they were going to get to play soon. Oh, how she loved to play with humans. |
Valamond watched as Billy drove away, anticipating the woman who'd be well hidden in a mountain range of cars and metal soon. Who turned to give Lulu a slight look, grin widening playfully. "Then how come I never see you smile, pouty?" he cooed, chuckling under his breath. He turned as a familiar scent hit his nose and cocked an eyebrow, licking his lips. "Oh Kerri I forgot you worked here..." His voice had lost some of its playfulness, grin itself vanishing lightly. He forgot he had her come here, keep an eye on Billy and make sure he didn't do anything stupid or try to run. Fool would have had an eviscerated soul had that happened.
He moved aside lightly as the truck came back, the woman inside nervous and twitchy and he chuckled low. She hadn't noticed him and he licked his lips. In truth he didn't know why he had Billy bring her here. Taking her to the shop would leave her in his debt but...his grin grew wide, hand clenching into a fist. Well, this would be fun. 'Saving' her life from the homicidal junkyard worker would be much more beneficial than simply having her card fixed. Would make the deal she struck up much more potent than before. Her soul would have little leeway for escape. He chuckled. "You two...stay here and catch up. Papa Vally's going to go rope in dinner," he said, jogging off into mountain of twisted metal, humming a jaunty tune as he moved, pushing his sunglasses back up his nose. |
Lulu answered Val's question with the slightest of shrugs and a blank look. His nose wrinkling once again at the scent of Kerri. She smelled just like the junkyard. He made the slightest of faces, then it was gone. His eyes lingering on Kerri for a moment, before his attention returned to Valamond, Lulu remained quiet and soon that youthful visage was bounding away. His body relaxed ever so slightly, his muscles unconsciously tense whenever he was around Valamond, and the slightest of sighs left his lips. As if he were slightly relieved the demon lord had left him there.
He stared after Valamond for a few moments before his gaze shifted to Kerri. Stay and catch up? Once again, Lulucian's nose wrinkled in disdain. He had nothing to say really. Not to Kerri or anyone. He was a quiet creature by nature, despite the power of his voice, and not the most social of creatures either. What could he say to the woman before him that would be considered 'catching up'. Lulu shook his head and crossed his arms across his chest. "I have nothing to say." He spoke the words simply in that quiet voice of his. The power of it floating gently on the airwaves. |
Suke sighed, people were so fast to jump to conclusions and get themselves killed. He moved back to the hotel where his group was staying, to pick up his other two swords. Thankfully it was getting later, so he would be able to stay mostly out of sight. He pushed his glasses lightly back up where they belonged, and smiled. His eyes flashing their odd pink color in the mirror across the room. Seemed it was time for a little bit of fun. He had no idea what he was really up against, but what was the fun in that? He noticed that Sayoshi was standing in the doorway watching him. He sighed "your not going to let me do this alone are you?" Sayoshi smiled, and shook his head, "not a chance." Suke couldn't help but smile, the experienced company would be a bit of a refreshment. He made his way down with Sayoshi. He wondered what weapons the other would use, he seemed to have none directly appearing on him. He had seen the other use a pair of silver guns before, and guessed he probrably had them hidden away somewhere. It was his choice what he used, and Suke had no right to say anything. They made their way slowly to the gates of the junkyard, and Sayoshi suggested he would circle around back as Suke took a look inside. Alone again, he pushed the gates open slowly, and stepped inside. It was oddly quiet other then the usual machines, and he had an eerie feeling. It happened at times now when there was danger about. He seemed to have a sort of hightened reflex when something bad was about to happen. He supposed he should add that to the abnormalties about him since the accident, but it was better to focus on his mission for now. He crossed his arms, looking around slowly with a sigh. "What am I getting into?" he says quietly to himself, before moving a bit deeper into the yard. He herd voices, and moved behind a pile of cars, looking out, he saw the man who had been following the boy from before, and what he supposed were a few friends of his. His hand slid to the hilt of his sword. It was odd that the boy was obviously not in sight, he had to be deeper in. Being here with these goons was going to do him no good. He had to move on. Turning, he made his way slowly back between the rows of piled cars waiting to be crushed. He wondered what these guys were planning, and what that foolish girl had to do with things. Lucky for him he would probrably have to save her backside before the night was done. That though sarchastically passed through his mind, as he moved on. He hoped that Sayoshi was doing alright, and had managed to find a way in as well. It was not going to be good number odds if he had to do this solo, but that had never stopped him before. |
Ashley was ducked behind a pile of junk giving herself a pep talk. She could get out of here easily. The place was only so big and as far as she knew, Billy was the only one out for her. That brought her thoughts back to the boy. Surely he'd gone home. If he'd been friends with Billy, certainly Billy wouldn't have harmed a child, right?
She imagined Billy crushing the boy in a car the way he crushed his girlfriend and Ashley felt angry. Who did this junkyard guy think he was just crushing people up whenever he felt like it, like they were trash. Just then she heard a can fall from a junk pile near her. She searched for something she could use as a weapon and found nothing too very useful. Billy came around a pile, wielding a large switchblade. Ashley grabbed something from the junk pile, "Stay back!" she warned holding out what appeared to be small broken lamp stand. Honestly she didn't want Billy getting close enough that she could even use the stand, so she chunked it, right at his head. It missed by at least a foot and with a clunk somewhere behind him. He grinned and advanced. Ashley plucked another piece of junk from the pile beside her and threw it, too. She was slowly backing away and throwing little things, threatening him with karate skills that she didn't really have when she tripped over a broken toaster and landed hard on her butt. She was officially the worst bounty hunter ever. If she made it out of here alive, she'd really have to pay more attention to where she left the pepper spray and stun gun her boss gave her today. He'd also given her a pair of handcuffs. All of those things were in her purse, inside her car, wherever it may be. Ashley looked up at "The Crusher" standing over her. She closed her eyes and promised God that if he made Billy disappear, not that she was hooping he'd die, that she'd start going to church on Sundays again. That she'd cut back on the junk food and that she'd really take one of those karate classes. Oh, and she'd also stop stealing Mr. Hebert's newspaper from across the hall. |
The area was to large, and not really knowing his way around it, Suke was at a disadvantage. This was why they typically scouted areas ahead of time, but when it came down to the do or die stuff like this, the options were limited. He herd the slight sounds of what appeared to be things hitting the ground and other trash piles. He raised an eyebrow, and moved to see what it was. He saw the girl fall on her butt and the man move over her. He sighed, he had warned her in some way, and if she hadn't been so quick to brush him off..He shook his head. He was a hunter, his job was not to stand around like this. He sighed, and moved forward. His hand slid to the hilt of his swords, and he slowly drew the longest. He had become acustomed with walking with little noise, it came in handy when sneaking up on your prey. Moving close enough, he figured it was now or never, or the setting sun and his shadow would give away his position. In one swift movement, he hit the man in the back of the head and neck with the hilt of his sword. Not enough to kill him, just with enough power to knock him out at least for now. He watched the body sway for a moment then fall over into a pile of junk with a crash. He flinched slightly at the sound, well, so much for being silent. |
Ashley was praying when the sound of Billy's body hitting the ground caused her to open one eye in curiosity. He was laying on the ground in front of her. She blinked owlishly at the body. Then up at the man standing over him. It was the man who'd eavesdropped on her earlier.
She wasn't sure whether to be relieved or worried. Billy wasn't coming at her with a knife, but this man appeared to be stalking her, and had a sword. Come to think of it, she'd never seen anyone carrying a sword around. But then she wasn't sure she'd ever met a stalker before either. They must be some kind of weird to stalk in the first place. Ashley pushed herself up off the ground. Billy was out, and that was good. She could cuff him and take him in now. But that still left the pink haired man and her things in her car. She did a mental groan. If it wasn't one thing it was another. The sun would be setting soon and the last thing she wanted was to be in a dark junkyard with Billy and this stalker. She smiled. That's what she was supposed to do right? Make them think she wasn't on to them. "Wow, you're really good with that sword. Thanks, you, it... y'all really make a good team. I really should be getting out of here now, I've got a turtle at home that needs to use the bathroom. You know how pets are..." She cleared her throat awkwardly. Which way was the exit? |
Valamond watched her from behind a pile of trash, grin gone and replaced with a small pout. A hunter. Just what he needed. He eyed Billy with a look of severe disappointment, shaking his head lightly before sighing quietly. Oh well. No delicious meal or new toy to play with. The hunter had officially saw to that. He sighed forlornly as he moved away and hid entirely behind the pile of junk. He clicked his tongue quietly, closing his eyes and thinking over what he could do next to maybe salvage this deal. It was already sunk but maybe he could pick up the pieces and try again. Unlikely really. She was no longer in any real danger and she had that hunter. Val figured he should probably get scarce. If there were hunters here then it was possible they had followed him here and he really was in no mood for him. He could deal with the human's shenanigans later.
He cracked one eye open at the sound of scuffling off to his right slightly, turning his head and casting a glance down the way. The hunter next to his former meal/toy had a particular scent about him; cherry blossoms and the smell of salty water. The scent that wafted down the way a bit was similar. And it was closer. Close enough that he could hear their heart beat if he concentrated. Whoever it was seemed to be this other hunter's partner or something ridiculously stupid like that and if he was close enough that the demon lord could hear his organs working in their disgustingly mechanical way than the guy was definitely not getting close to see if the young kid standing alone in the junkyard was hurt in any way. No. Whoever this was was stalking him, getting closer for nefarious reasons and the demon lord couldn't help the grin that spread across his face. Maybe he could still have some fun after all. It wasn't like this wouldn't be self defense if the other got close enough. |
Suke rolled his eyes. "Humans...your all so oblivious" he placed his sword back in its' sheath, and turned away from her. "Do as you please, your buisiness is of no concern or care of mine. I am not here for you" he says. He felt the odd prescence, the sense of danger still around. He wondered where Sayoshi had gotten to. Shaking his head, he glance back at the female "if you are going to go, I suggest you go now, things may not stay so peaceful for long." He moved away, leaving her there. His eyes moving around the area, he kept his guard up and was attempting to locate his partner. He wondered where the other less plesant beings were to. He guessed by now they were lingering around here, and it would be a good idea to keep on his guard. As long as the female kept her word and went home, he would not have to continue babysitting her. She was only a liability at this point, and in his way. It was better for all of them if she left the junkyard. Something told him though it was not going to be that easy, humans never made it that easy. |
Humans? Was the man implying that he wasn't human? He wasn't here for her? Oh. Well, it was a relief, but she couldn't help but feeling a little embarrassed. She was an attractive girl, it wasn't out of the question to have a stalker, especially from her side of town. Honestly, she was sort of disappointed. What? She wasn't awesome enough to have a stalker?
She watched the man walk away and her sapphire eyes looked to Billy on the ground. She had a game plan now. Get to her car, get her cuffs, cuff Billy, haul him in and collect her bounty. Easy peasy. Ashley walked through the junkyard following the path she'd taken to get to the place she'd been, unaware that there were others still in the yard. In no time, she stood before her car, still attached to the tow truck. She recalled that Billy had broken her key. Super. She grabbed a rock laying near the truck and busted in her driver side window. The piece of junk car was right where it belonged anyway. Besides, with Billy's bounty, she could go down to the used car lot tomorrow and get a different car, that started and had A/C. Quickly she grabbed her purse and dug the handcuffs out. She smiled. She could totally be a bounty hunter, this stuff was easy. But how was she going to get Billy out of the junkyard? Minutes later Ashley chugged through the junkyard path towards Billy. She was driving his tow truck. When she spotted him still lying on the ground, she smiled. This was turning out to be a good day after all! She hopped out of the truck and slapped the cuffs on Billy. She was sure she wouldn't get him in the truck, he was far too heavy, so she disconnected her car from the bed and wrapped the chain around Billy's waist. A simple push of a button pulled Billy onto the bed securely. She smiled, proud of herself. Ashley hopped back into the truck and chugged through the yard once again. After a circle or two, she found the exit and pulled up to the gate, but it didn't open. Great. A control room and tower behind her held the security button for the gate. Ashley had seen it on the way in, that was the only place she could think of to look for a way to open the gate so she hopped out of the truck again. She grabbed her pepper spray and stuffed it into her back pocket, just in case, and entered the building. "Hello?" she called, but there was no reply. Good. Ashley climbed up a flight of stairs to the tower where she could see a good majority of the junk yard, but she wasn't looking there, she was busy looking at a large control panel. Which of these buttons opened the gate!? Why weren't they labeled? She began randomly pressing buttons and looking at the gate. In her mad press of buttons she activated the control arm that picked up the junk and took it to the compactor. The arm swung wildly as she pressed buttons and pulled levers, knocking over piles of junk and making a mess of the yard. ((Feel free to ignore her and go on about your business, just remember that junk will be falling around and the control arm is out of control around you guys!)) |
